Delicious drinks and excellent tapas! A really lovely place to linger.

Unfortunately, the tapas weren't high quality and didn't live up to the price. The aioli was more like an herb cream. The "Bravas Patatas" were just potatoes with tomato sauce. Plus, the room temperature was very cold, so staying longer wasn't really an option.

The service was incredibly friendly, they took their time, and everything was delicious and fresh. I'll definitely be back!

This was my second time here, this time with a large group of 30 people. We pre-ordered the tapas, and again, they were absolutely delicious. I would have liked more service and friendliness from the service this time. ___________ Cozy place and friendly service! I was inspired by the previous guests and ordered the bread salad and sardines. Wow! It was truly a taste experience. The house wine was also delicious and not cheap 😁 I'd love to come back! We went to the tapas bar with friends and had a lovely and delicious evening. I enjoyed the eggplant with burrata the best.

We ate here with the whole family, about 20 people. I found the tapas to be super relaxed for the occasion, and our requests were well catered for (e.g., vegan options).

I've been to the Mermaid twice now and have been delighted by the delicious food each time. The aioli is my highlight, but otherwise, as a vegetarian, I also get my money's worth. The service is super friendly and accommodating :)

A super cozy window seat and super delicious tapas—what more could you want? A small but fine selection, plus a few daily specials. The portions were also generous (our eyes were bigger than our stomachs), so the prices were really fair. We were thrilled and will definitely be back!

The tapas are, as has often been said here, a little unimaginative, but anyway... If it tastes good, I'm fine with it. Unfortunately, half of our tapas, 100% of everything that had been through the pan and fryer, were burnt and inedible. We, like the table next to us a few minutes earlier, raised this with the waiter while our half-empty plates were being cleared away. Her only reaction was, "Oh, this isn't the first time I've heard that today." No apology, no request for a free coffee, or anything like that. Completely indifferent. Too bad, this was our first and last visit.

The name is a bit unusual for a tapas bar, but otherwise everything is top-notch. Good food, good wine, very friendly service in a lovely location. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing place to enjoy excellent tapas, this is the place for you.

Top spot... Pretty empty for a Saturday night, but the food, drinks, and service were all the better for it. We stopped by spontaneously and were pleasantly surprised. We'll be back....

The food is unfortunately a bit unimaginative and sleepy

We booked the tapas bar's food for our wedding. We wanted a relaxed holiday vibe for our summer wedding—and we got it! All of our guests loved the food, a far cry from the traditional wedding buffet. The Mermaid team looked after us and our guests very well. We had a detailed introductory discussion beforehand about our preferred tapas, so all of our favorite dishes could be served. Some of them were freshly prepared on site and, of course, served warm. We're already looking forward to our next visit to the tapas bar, not least to reminisce about our dream wedding 🥰

The service was great, the seating was nice, but we found some dishes to be inauthentic (patatas bravas with TexMex sauce) or overpriced (6 slices of Manchego (2 of which were edge slices) for €7).

The Little Mermaid is the insider tip for people who want tapas but can never get a seat at La Cantina. ;) Here, however, you can always find a table. The staff is nice and attentive, the tapas selection is pretty good. The wines are OK, but in direct comparison to La Cantina they seem to me to be more expensive and not quite of the same quality. Definitely an insider tip.

We really enjoyed our time with you. The selection of dishes/tapas is sufficient and highly recommended. The bread salad is unique and the burrata with tomatoes is highly recommended. One star deducted for the ambience, but only because it should be a little warmer in the dining room. We'll definitely be back! The service is first class and very attentive and friendly, unfortunately this has become a rarity. Keep it up.

We had a very nice evening with great food, a super friendly waitress and super atmosphere. Especially the Prawns were very tasty!

The food tasted great, but unfortunately the selection and the tapas themselves seemed a bit unimaginative. The waiter was attentive, but seemed very introverted to me. The ambience and the sanitary rooms were very nice. Unfortunately, it was very cold in the restaurant on the day of my visit.

Very tasty tapas bar with variations from many countries instead of just classic Spanish :) highly recommended I like the clear menu and large selection of drinks!

Unfortunately the tapas on offer were uninspired and didn't have much in common with real Spanish tapas. I was rather disappointed with the food, and the price was exorbitant, but the service was extremely friendly.

The service made a great effort, but it was hardly possible to do everything alone. The food and wine was really great. It was a nice evening. However, there should have been better heating. The rooms were really too cold for a restaurant.

On a Saturday evening, only 2 people in the kitchen and service, chaotic but so incredibly friendly, delicious, cozy. We sat for 2 hours, ate, laughed and just had a lovely evening. Thank you for your sunny disposition despite stress and apparently not enough manpower. See you again soon

Really very tasty tapas in a cozy atmosphere. Very good service. Highlights: definitely the baba ghanoush and the sardines. We'd love to come back.

We ate here today after the football game in Leipzig. Had reserved a day in advance. The tapas restaurant is small but nice. The service was friendly and attentive. The food I ordered (tapas variations) was a culinary delight and simply delicious. Almost didn't make it because it was rich. My friend ate a bread salad which of course I also tried, simply delicious. I drank a white wine and he drank a non-alcoholic beer. The still water is free.

The food and drinks were good, you can also sit outside. The skewers were particularly good, the Manchego cheese was a bit soft.

Nice little bar with a reasonable selection of tapas. The majority are vegetarian or vegan. We were pleasantly surprised by the taste. We had the bread salad, sardines and the bruscetta variation. The service was very pleasant and always tried to ensure customer satisfaction.

The atmosphere is beautifully done and the staff is also very friendly. Unfortunately, the restaurant was very empty, which always takes away from the peace and quiet of sitting comfortably. I would like to offer some constructive criticism. It was really too cold to sit, we were all pretty cold. Unfortunately the tapas weren't particularly warm either. The taste was okay. The shrimp tapas come in a sauce, but are not peeled so the food is really unpleasant. The chicken was fried quite tightly. I had the tapas variations where a tapas costs about 6 euros... and 6 euros for about 5 mushroom heads in balsamic vinegar and a tablespoon of alioli for about 6 euros or 5 pimentos for about 6 euros... that's a bit steep. I'm actually still hungry. Maybe that's a suggestion for improvement. All the best

Service is nice, but considering the price-performance ratio, you probably only get minimum wage. Aioli worst hit, the rest of the tapas leave a lot to be desired in terms of creativity, lack of carbohydrates. Nice shop with a great presentation. Hello, you need to know!

Food was great with good sized portions. Hummus and baba ganoush 👍 😊👍 Some background noise from (aircon? Kitchen machinery?) was noticeable

Very nice, cozy restaurant, which in my opinion is really underrated! We had the super delicious bread salad and the tapas variations. Plus a very fruity light white wine. Lovely again!

Ein super Restaurant nur einige Schritte abseits der Karl-Heine-Straße. Der rote Hauswein ist excellent und meine Frau hat bisher in keinem Lokal einen besseren Aperol-Spritz getrunken. Die Tapas sind sehr lecker und preislich angemessen - wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Wunderschöne Tapas-Bar mit super Service, entspannter Atmosphäre und köstlichem Essen

Das Lokal liegt etwas abseits vom Trubel der Karl-Heine-Str. (ca. 2 Min. zu Fuß), deswegen ist es leider nicht ganz so stark besucht. Für uns war das ein großes Glück, denn dadurch hatten wir zum Sonnabendabend noch einen freien Tisch bekommen. Der Service war mega nett, sehr unterstützend in der Getränke- und Speiseauswahl und überaus freundlich. Die Tapas waren wirklich sehr schmackhaft. Das wird auf jeden Fall unser neues Lieblingslokal, versprochen 😊

Cute little tapas bar in Lindenau serving authentic Spanish food which is far (!!!) better than the one served on Karl Heine Str. Excellent service, nice interior… this place needs a lot more attention and customers!

Schönes kleines Lokal. Es gibt verschiedene kalte und warme Tapas von der Karte und tagesaktuelle Spezialitäten. Alles war sehr lecker und nicht teuer. Wir hatten einen entspannten Abend mit gutem Essen und Wein. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam. Uns hat es sehr gefallen und kommen bestimmt wieder.

Das war prima, vielen lieben Dank für die schöne Zeit, die ich bei euch hatte! Ganz gerne bald wieder.

Das Essen (bzw. die Tapas) schmecken wirklich köstlich! Noch dazu fühlt man sich im Ambiente sehr wohl und die Bedienung ist sehr nett. Wir waren in einer größeren Geburtstagsrunde dort und hatten einen super Abend :)

Wirklich sehr leckeres Essen, ging auch absolut schnell mit sehr netter Bedienung. Für 30€ werden hier 2 Personen satt und glücklich :) Keine Ahnung warum es hier an einem Samstag so leer ist, davon nicht abschrecken lassen!

Wir sind vergangenen Samstag zum ersten mal hier gewesen. Zur Einkehr kurz zögern ließ uns, dass es im Vergleich zu allen anderen umliegenden Lokalitäten hier sehr leer war, diese Bedenken zerstreuten sich aber sehr schnell. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, fix und aufmerksam. Die Getränkekarte lässt sowohl an Fassbieren, Weinen und Anderes keine Wünsche offen. Wer eine überladene Karte mit 60 oder mehr Gerichten sucht, ist hier allerdings falsch. Es gibt lediglich eine kleine aber feine Auswahl an Tapas und Antipasti, die man sich individuell einzeln oder im Menu zusammenstellen kann. Dazu wird ein Körbchen mit warmen Ciabatta gereicht, welches wenn alle auch nachgefüllt wird. Wir waren zu zweit, haben Tapas für ca. 30 Euro bestellt und sind gut satt geworden. Von mir als abschließende Bewertung: gute 4,5 Sterne. Wir kommen wieder.
