Food, service and location are not bad but not good for the price. The restaurant wants to be a little higher priced and serves very average food, carelessly prepared. The service makes an effort, but seems a bit overwhelmed and cold. No tablecloth, tables pushed together that are uneven and have cm differences in height. The combination is not acceptable at €250 for 4 people (no wine, no dessert, no extras).

We treated ourselves to dinner on Christmas Eve and reserved a table in the restaurant. Very courteous and ultra-friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere. The food was also very tasty...but charging 17 euros for the small salad with 4 bacon-wrapped dates is a bit overpriced, even on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, fish was only lukewarm...but still tasty. Overall, a nice and beautiful Christmas Eve...hence the 5 stars.

Eating at the Mediterranean again after a long time. It was again very tasty. The service is also great. Courteous, attentive and very friendly. Stomach full, espresso empty. :-) Unfortunately my photos aren't so good this time.

Was our first visit here. There were 4 of us for dinner on New Year's Eve! From the reception to the order to the dessert it was a real pleasure. Very attentive and friendly service and competent advice. We would love to come back!

The place is nice, but the food of questionable origin (or at least not Mediterranean). I think they try to make creative food, but lack the taste buds (curry in baba ghanush is certainly interesting).

We were there as part of our Christmas party. The food was delicious, the wines were very good. It would be nice for two people to sit, but with a large group (60), very cozy, and super narrow tables (children's tables) that I almost have my elbow hanging in my neighbor's plate... And the wine bottles from that Shelf can fall on you at any time... In addition, the background noise is enormous. Even within the group it was uncomfortable. I would have felt annoyed as a couple. A closed company would have been appropriate. Eat, drink well, tend to be expensive. Very centrally located, tram stop directly opposite.

Wir hatten hier ein gutes Essen, jedoch kein sehr gutes. Und genau das erwarte ich bei diesem Preissegment. Die Pasta war gut, aber leider nicht mehr. Hatte es besser in Erinnerung.

What particularly stood out was a really friendly waiter. The quality of the food was good. I only found the appetizer plate to be a bit manageable and therefore not entirely priced appropriately.

For me it's not a restaurant for everyday life, but definitely a place to go for special occasions (for us: wedding anniversary). We were served courteously and the staff was consistently attentive. The quality of the kitchen can be considered “upscale” without any concerns. The map is not too extensive. We each chose a menu with different variations (lamb/fish and crepes/cheese) and I have no suggestions for improvement in terms of quality and portion size. The ambience outside takes some getting used to. But given that you're sitting so conveniently, you notice surprisingly little of the outside world. If you like it particularly quiet, you should look inwards.

Today I had a lunch date with a customer at Mediterrane on Karlstrasse. The ambience and the entire demeanor of the staff appear modern and bright. I had a Wienerschnitzel with fried potatoes, which was very tender and well prepared. For dessert I had a crème brûlée with a scoop of sorbet ice cream. All in all a very good lunch.

I enjoyed the food very much, but the portions were too small for me, even though I'm not a big eater. Service was great. Carpaccio was good (8/10) but nothing, I ate almost nothing. Pasta with scampi (8.5/10) was really tasty, I even really liked the sauce. Unfortunately, creme brûlé (7/10) was too flat for me, or rather it was too sweet and not as creamy as it should be.

From the first greeting to the final farewell, Nagel and his team showed an impressive passion for gastronomy. With a deep knowledge of the food and drinks on offer, they guided us through the evening and made every recommendation a hit. Nagel and his colleagues are masters at not only entertaining their guests, but also offering them a real experience. Their professionalism and friendliness made the evening perfect and rounded off the culinary experience. If you want to eat well in Karlsruhe, the Mediterranean is highly recommended. Food was is acceptable, however the service is really bellow the average (slow and inaccurate) Tasty food, but waiting time is over average. We were waiting 30minutes for first drinks, which is unacceptable. Only two from the team has received the drinks in time, all others were waiting around 30mins (most ordered beer, some wines) Then they discovered to run out of beer on tap (?). so, finally we went for bottled ones (and finally almost all ended up with a beer (some instead of wine switched to beer just to speed up) We can call it terrible service for 11 person. Food came slowly and just on the acceptable level of warmness (at least almost same time) At least the food was tasty. :) Another 20-30 minutes waiting for dessert. All in all, very close to 3 hours spent for a 3 course dinner. All in all, there is a room for inprovement.

For me, the restaurant is a great recommendation if you want very good food and perfect service. The food is to the point and tastes excellent, the wait staff are all very well trained, courteous and want to guarantee the guest a pleasant stay. For me, the price/performance ratio is also very good. Waiting times were also short and small greetings from the kitchen were served between and before each course. The next time I'm in Karlsruhe, I'll be happy to come back.

We came here for lunch. Price is ok. 3 course 19,9€ with salad buffet. The salad bar and main dish fish are both pretty good. The service is good, very friendly staffs. Nothing to complain. It is pleasant. Atmosphere is just ok. Not particularly special or feeling like dining out. Perhaps it was lunch hours.

Es gab Vorspeise: 1 Mal Ziegenkäse; Hauptspeise: 1 Mal Fischvariationen, 1 Mal Thunfisch; 1 Fl Rotwein Chianti. Flasche Wasser. Zusammen etwa 130 für Personen Einrichtung: Sehr geschmackvoll. Küche sichtbar: super! Vorspeise: sehr lecker, aber für 18 € doch recht teuer. Hauptspeise: gut und reichlich. Mit 34 € ein stolzer Preis. Der Fisch war nicht mehr ganz heiß. Der Thunfisch war auf den Punkt, insbesindere der Heilbutt eher lauwarm, der Lachs an der Grenze zum Trockenen. Das Risotto etwas matschig. Das (wenige) Gemüse hielt sich geschmacklich auch in Grenzen, m.E. hätte es noch länger auf dem Herd gekonnt. Der Thunfisch war sehr rot (roh) innen, ca 80 %. Rotwein: 2018 Peppoli Antinori Chianti (Karte), Jahrgang war aber 2022. Wein war ok, leicht und etwas flach - Chianti halt... Für 39 € etwa 2,5 mal so teuer wie im Geschäft, also der in deutschen Restaurants übliche und ärgerliche Faktor. (Nur noch getoppt vom Wasserpreis...) Bedienung: Aufmerksam. Das Nachschenken alle Nase lang muss offenbar sein in der "Gehobenen Küche". Richtig nervig wird es dann aber beim ungelogen 10. Mal nachfregen, ob alles recht, in Ordnung usw sei. Das braucht kein Mensch. Sonsitges: Zwei Geschenkgutscheine von 2018 und 2020, die also abgelaufen waren, Wetr: 100 + ca 50 € wurden zusammen mit 75 € angerechnet... Kulanz fühlt sich anders an! Insgesamt ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis zu hoch. Das "Gewese" des Kellners etwas zu viel und machmal schon nervig. Für den eigenen Anspruch des Restaurants ist das Essen nicht wirklich etwas Besonderes bzw. .das erwartete Besondere.

There were two of us there and we had reserved in advance. We ordered duck liver, goat cheese, beef fillet, turbot, crème brulee and chocolate souffle. All dishes were excellent. The service was very accommodating. Unfortunately we are not from Karlsruhe, but if we are there again, we will stop by again.

Das Mediterrane bietet eine freundliche Bedienung und gutes Essen. Vollständig überzeugt hat es uns aber nicht. Gemessen an den Preisen sollte das Essen etwas Besonderes bieten - das tut es unseres Erachtens aber nicht. Wer auf der Suche nach guter, gehobener mediterraner Küche ist, ist hier genau richtig. Wer aber das Exquisite sucht, wird vermutlich nicht vollständig zufrieden sein.

Schönes Lokal, hinten ist es noch schöner. Das Essen lecker., etwas zu salzig. Der Service sehr nett und freundlich. Aber, eh man immer die Gläser nachschenken will, wie im gehobenen Gastronomiebereich, sollte man lieber lernen, von welcher Seite man die Speisen an den Gast bringt. Auf keinen Fall quer über den Tisch! Preis Leistung, etwas zu hoch!

Wir sind auf dieses Lokal bei einem Kurzurlaub gestoßen. Super gutes leckeres Essen mit äußerst zuvorkommender Bedienung. So gut, dass wir am nächsten Tag nochmals hier essen waren.

Leider enttäuschend! Hier passt weder Essen noch Ambiente zu den geforderten Preisen. Oktopus als Vorspeise bestand größtenteils aus Salat. Pasta mit Trüffelsauce war ok aber langweilig. Der Hauptgang ging leider gar nicht: 4 Garnelen (Geschmack und Konsistenz ok) mit ein paar salzigen Zucchini-Würfeln und einem Klacks kaum gewürzten, sehr bissfesten Risotto (angeblich Bärlauch, wäre ich bei einer Blindverkostung aber wohl nicht drauf gekommen). Der angebliche Hummerschaum dazu sah aus wie Milchschaum und war absolut geschmacksneutral. Für den Preis eine Frechheit. Wir werden wohl keine Wiederholungstäter.

Naja, offenbar scheint das Restaurant vom Fachkräftemangeln massiv betroffen zu sein. Zwei "Kellner" die nicht der deutschen Sprache mächtig waren. Obwohl wir Menü mit inkludiertem Dessert hatten, wurden wir zweimal gefragt, ob man uns die Dessertkarte bringen solle. Der Spargel, der uns angepriesen wurde, stellte sich heraus, war ausgegangen und ebenso der Octopus und das Samstagabend zu Art Messe! Mit dem Service waren wir nicht zufrieden.

We had dinner end of July in the Karlstr. Branch of the Mediterranean Restaurant. The location is ideal, though a bit too much traffic from the Karlsstr. The variety of food and drinks real good. We had a fish and meat dish. Taste wise it was average. The price is rather on the high side. The kitchen offers small finger food before the main course. Overall, the restaurant is simply overrated and the waiter and waitress overwhelm you with small talk, with no value.

Für meine Freunde und mich ist das Mediterrane ein besondere Ort geworden. Neben dem leckeren Essen und der tollen Atmosphäre gilt auch dem Personal ein grosses Lob! Vielen Dank für die unvergesslichen Aufenthalte bei euch.

Das Lokal ist sehr ansprechend eingerichtet. Der Kellner war sehr bemüht und aufmerksam. Es wurde sehr darauf acht gegeben, dass unser Zeitplan eingehalten werden kann da wir im Anschluss eine Veranstaltung besuchten. Das Essen war wirklich sehr gut, die Portionen groß aber nicht übertrieben mächtig. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir hatten unterschiedliche Vorspeisen und Hauptspeisen das kann ich alles empfehlen. Unsere Weinberatung war sehr gut! Aber auch der komplette Service war sehr gut. Leider kann ich hier auch das Dessert sehr empfehlen,😉. Die Toilette bei den Herren ist zwar klein aber das kann man verschmerzen, dafür ist der Rest wiklich toll. Kommen gerne wieder!

Heerlijk gegeten, perfecte service. Alle gerechten konden naar wens worden aangepast, het eten was vers en enorm smaakvol. Er zit voor ieder wat wils op de kaart en de bediende zorgde ervoor dat je glas geen moment leeg was. Hij kon alle gerechten toelichten in het Engels en nam uitgebreid de tijd om de menukaart toe te lichten. We hebben voor-, hoofd-, en nagerecht op en het was allemaal even lekker ! Perfecte start van onze vakantie.

Fangen wir einmal so an: Unser Kellner war sehr aufmerksam, schenkte immer wieder nach hielt die Tür am Ende auf. Dennoch hatte ich das Gefühl, dass die Kellner etwas überfordert waren, bzw. gehetzt erschienen. Kommen wir zu dem Wichtigsten, die Speisen. Die Grüße aus der Küche, waren zwar gut, auch das Zitronen“Sorbet“Eis? Jedoch war das Brot, ich nenne es einmal sehr, sehr „kross“. Das Carpaccio vom Rinderfilet – die Pinienkerne hätten ein wenig Röstaromen vertragen können und der Preis für diese Portion, ich empfand diesen viel zu hoch. Rechnen wir kurz hoch ca. 20€ für ka. ca. 50 g? Macht einen Kilopreis von 400€. Dafür fehlte es an Raffinesse. Kommen wir einmal zum Hauptgericht, so entschied ich mich für das Wiener Schnitzel. Entweder hatte der Koch einen schlechten Tag oder ka. Die Panade war leider nicht fluffig, klebte quasi am guten Kalbsfleisch. Schnitzel und Panade waren „eins“. Nicht kross und luftig voneinander „getrennt“. Die Preiselbeeren waren für meinen Geschmack viel zu süß. Die Bratkartoffeln sehr trocken und sehr dünn geschnitten. Jedoch darüber steht auch: „DIE LAND ART…“ vielleicht so etwas wie die „Art des Hauses“ zu interpretieren. Die Nachspeise ließ ich dann. Geschmacklich alles in allem, naja okay. Nun kommen wir zum Ambiente. Wir saßen im vorderen Bereich. m.E. sind die Sitzplätze viel zu nah aneinandergestellt. Als mein hinter Nachbar aufstand, hatte man einen Stuhl im Kreuz. Auch die Lautstärke erinnert an eine, um es überspitzt zu sagen, Mensa. So kam es mir vor, ein jeder wollte sich unterhalten und wurde immer lauter, bis man sich selbst nicht mehr normal unterhalten konnte. Jeder kompensierte es, in dem es mir immer lauter vorkam. Und vor allem die Ruhe, das Essen genießen zu können, sich darüber auszutauschen, es war so nicht wirklich möglich. Für ein, im Preissegment höher gelegenes Restaurant fand ich dieses fast mit am Schlimmsten. Auch wie ich oben bereits zum Ausdruck brachte, die „gefühlte“ Hektik. Preis/Leistung fühlte ich so nicht. Ich möchte nicht über die Preise herziehen, sonst wären wir nicht bei Euch eingekehrt, war im Voraus bewusst, jedoch sollte die Leistung stimmen. Vielleicht ist auch die Krise daran schuld. Man weiß es nicht. Jedoch hat der nette Kellner die Punkte von 2 auf 3 gerettet. Im Nachgang jedoch "Vernasche ich ja nicht den Kellner" ;-) Also leider doch nur 2 Sternchen. :-( Geschmacklich passte es einfach bei mir nicht, jedoch ja, die Geschmäcker sind natürlich verschieden. Alles in allem, meine persönliche/subjektive Meinung. Dennoch viele Grüße!

Sehr gutes Essen. Raffiniert angerichtet und und in einem gemütlichen Ambiente. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung. So möchte man immer behandelt werden.

Leckeres Essen mit sehr gutem Service. Grundsätzlich war das Essen sehr gut. Allerdings sind die Preise nicht ohne und das dämpft das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Denn für die Preise war das Essen lediglich okay.

Restaurant mit etwas gehobenerem Niveau. Die Preise sind etwas teurer, aber das Essen ist es durchaus wert. Sehr gut im Geschmack. Auch die Beratung durch den Kellner ist qualifiziert und sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant ist nicht mut Tischen zugestellt, sondern wenige Tische im grosszügigen Raum. Dadurch wirkt alles aufgelockerter und es ist für ausreichend Privatsphäre gesorgt. 5 Sterne auf jeden Fall verdient. Als Verbesserungsvorschlag könnte man eventuell zwei ider drei Cocktails auf die Karte nehmen.

Ein wunderschönes Ambiente hier. Kellner sind super höflich und zuvorkommend. Essen hat eine super Qualität, und sehr lecker. Die Weinkenntnis der Kellner ist hervorragend. Der Service, den man hier bekommt ist leider in anderen Restaurants nicht vorhanden. Selten so ein gutes Restaurant besucht.
