We ate there with our family. It was very good, and the staff was very friendly.

We happened to be there on Saturday with my mother and sister, and what can I say? All three of us were absolutely thrilled. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly. The service was top-notch, and the food was excellent. We'll definitely be back!

A beautiful little hotel, right in the city center. The rooms are freshly renovated, with great bathrooms and air conditioning. Your first coffee or tea is provided in your room. A big compliment goes to the chef and his friendly family. We received a very warm welcome. And if you want fantastic food, this is the place for you. We'd love to come back and give it 5 stars! The food—baked seafood—nicely presented in a basket with two dips and a small salad—was delicious. The waitresses, perhaps young trainees, were polite and friendly. Even when our dog got scared and barked under the table, the young man remained calm!

We only visited the restaurant and were asked by the friendly attendant to go to the next room because we hadn't made a reservation. We sat there and ate dinner. It was quite tasty, although my tuna steak wasn't quite cooked. Not so bad with tuna, but worth recording. Bad, really bad: a painting by August Macke hung incorrectly! Lying down instead of upright. Is it even possible to touch it? Just because the other paintings are landscape format... tsk tsk.

My go-to place in Papenburg when I want to experience something simple yet sophisticated. Whether it's steak, pizza, or Caesar salad, everything here is refined with a special touch, thanks to a great passion for cooking. Everything is explained, and the staff, especially the chef, will accommodate individual requests upon request. I've been visiting this restaurant for years and would like to share my experience. For those with a refined palate and a desire for a taste experience, this is one of the best restaurants in Papenburg. Mediterranean-style, even the best! You can't get more than that!

The pizza wasn't bad, but the margarita wasn't the best. Unfortunately, the entrecôte consisted almost entirely of tendons. It tasted very good, though. It wasn't very busy that day, but we didn't get a second beer.

We ended up here by chance last night because another restaurant in Papenburg hadn't honored our reservation. Very friendly, uncomplicated service and delicious food.

Lovely terrace. It was Friday, market day, and sunny, but there was no one there except us. A delicious cappuccino. Everyone seemed to be sitting on the next terrace over, which was remarkable!

We stumbled upon this place by chance and were thrilled! 😍 Delicious food – the soup and appetizers are especially highly recommended. The tiramisu in a cup was a dream, and the espresso was perfect. The service was super friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I highly recommend this hotel. It's well-equipped and offers a great breakfast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. My bike was also stored very securely.

We stayed at Mediterra for two nights. We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The air conditioning in the room was a big plus. The location right on the main canal as well. Good price and good breakfast. We will be back.

We ate at the restaurant. The ambiance and service were perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the menu didn't impress us. The meat was burnt in places and overcooked or tough. It's a shame, because the flavor was actually very good.

As a day visitor to the tranquil town of Papenburg, I stopped in for lunch. I enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere in this very beautiful historic city hotel. The service was excellent. The food served was excellent, and the owner's son 😉 was kind and hospitable. Outside, the view swept across the tranquil and idyllic "Hauptwasserkanal" (main canal). Papenburg is considered "the Venice of Lower Saxony." I highly recommend this place and the hotel/restaurant.

We stayed at the Mediterra last weekend with our two children and our in-laws. The friendly service was evident right from the booking stage. Everything went smoothly after a quick inquiry via WhatsApp. We received a warm welcome at this truly beautiful, small, family-run hotel. The service, the food, the cleanliness, and the hotel's standard left nothing to be desired. The hotel's own restaurant has a menu that caters to all tastes. What we particularly appreciated was the calm and always friendly way we, the guests and the children, were treated. We would love to come back.

We had two double rooms with air conditioning, each with a small bathroom. The hotel's central location is excellent, the rooms were clean and tidy, and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and reliable. The extensive breakfast, with a variety of rolls, various cold cuts and spreads, and a choice of drinks, is particularly noteworthy. Dinner was fantastic. Pizza, fish, meat, and dessert—everything was excellent! We will be back on our next visit to Papenburg.

The food was fine, for me personally nothing special, the chicken was very tasty and also recommended.

I can recommend it for short trips. However, there's no storage space or ventilation in the bathroom.

Hey, we were coming back from a bike ride that ended in Papenburg and wanted a delicious meal. MediTerra wasn't a good choice. The pizza Margarita was a disappointment. The dough was good, but a pizza oven from Modena doesn't necessarily guarantee a good pizza. The tomato sauce was tasteless, the mozzarella was unrecognizable, and basil was shoved into the oven with the pizza. So much for the classic pizza in national colors. 2nd dish: Linguine was cooked without salt because it was "handmade"🤣 🤣🤣 Aha, that's good food like in a hospital...low in salt🤣 and it was veeeery al dente. Funny, I've never managed to make my homemade pasta so al dente. The pesto also lacked the typical pesto seasoning. In my opinion, it wasn't homemade. According to the waitress, the chef is Italian 🙄🙄🙄 Not recommended. Bellini, further along the canal toward the shipyard, is Italian, and I recommend it.

I had some delicious fish here. Everything was okay, but the service could have been a bit more attentive.

Food was very good and nice location.

The bathroom was relatively small, but otherwise, room 5 was perfectly fine. Unfortunately, they only provided us with one bath towel instead of two in our double room. There was no chance to rectify the mistake since we were only there for one night. Maybe next time.

The location is great, I can't say anything about the rooms. The service is disappointing. About the situation: My wife had our baby in the hospital in Papenburg and due to the distance I booked a hotel because there was no family room available. However, the situation then changed and I asked the hotel about reducing the cancellation fee. I was rejected on the phone and there was no response in writing. That's not how satisfactory customer service works for me.

Hidden away from the outside, this pleasant hotel with newly renovated rooms is inconspicuous. The restaurant serves modern, mid-range Mediterranean cuisine. I'm deducting one star because my room was very noisy (I briefly feared loud snoring was coming from the bed next to me, which was actually empty...) and the €15 breakfast was too expensive.

The rooms are comfortable and tastefully renovated. The breakfast is plentiful, with fresh scrambled eggs and good coffee. The restaurant has an interesting menu. The food is delicious and very good value for money. In conclusion: Both the hotel and the restaurant are highly recommended.

Four of us ate outside. The location is great. Very central right on the main canal and close to the town hall. The food tasted good 👍 However, the prices were quite high. We had a pizza, which is recommended. A “late breakfast” consisting of a slice of toast, 2 slices of bacon, 1 fried egg and a huge piece of butter. For 15€ it is not appropriate. Tiramisu was not tiramisu but a similar dessert. The beef burger tasted and looked very good, but was also quite expensive at €20. Of course, good food costs a lot of money, but what is not at all understandable are the drinks. The cola was completely non-carbonated, as if it had been left open for a few days. Also, there were no napkins with the meal. The service staff tried hard, but were also visibly overwhelmed and did not speak German. So unfortunately we won't be back any time soon.

We have eaten there several times and there is pizza from the wood-fired oven and one person is assigned specifically for this part and you can clearly taste it. The service is very good and my family had a great meal yesterday.

A great little hotel at a high level. Rooms are spacious and newly renovated. The bathroom is very spacious and so is the shower. The restaurant offers a high quality of cuisine. The cuisine is European, Southern and International. A selection that you rarely find. The service is first class as is the selection of drinks. I'm there for a few weeks on business and I'm thrilled. Everything done right. Keep it up in this style.

The hotel is centrally located and there are numerous parking spaces directly at the hotel. We were stranded in Papenburg due to a car breakdown and had to look for a hotel without planning. The reception was very friendly. The room was clean and in a very nice visual condition. At breakfast we were surprised again. We were served freshly made scrambled eggs! There was no buffet but the table was set for us with everything our hearts desired. Fresh rolls, slices of bread, butter, jam, mixed nuts, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cheese, ham, salami, honey, orange juice, coffee or tea. We will definitely check into this hotel again, but this time we plan to have more time.

Centrally located on the main canal and very well attended. It should be reserved in advance. The Oriental Meat Platter dish was very well done. However, the relationship between the price and the dish served is not correct. The fries that had to be ordered separately for an additional €4.90 spoiled the good taste of the food. A very small portion was served; you could have quickly counted the number of individual pieces. It is impossible to understand why so little was served at such a high price. If I had been able to anticipate this small quantity in advance, this supplement order would not have been placed. I can't answer why such a minimalism is maintained here.

The rooms are all newly renovated and very, very nice, only the entrance area with the reception is a deterrent at first, but we were informed that it will be renovated in November, which is also urgently needed.

The food has an oriental flavor, friendly service, nice restaurant... We had booked a complete package with Papenburg GmbH which included this 3-course menu. We were here with 7 people...we all enjoyed it very much...you should try it out.

I stopped at this hotel on the Ems cycle path. The location is 1a, right on the canal. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a beautiful view of the canal. The reception was very friendly and I was able to move into my room before 3 p.m. The breakfast is rich and is served at the table. The attached restaurant is also recommended, friendly service, delicious food that is worth the price. So all around: a recommendation

We had a lovely stay at this cosy hotel in the centre of Papenburg. The owners are very friendly. We enjoyed our drink at the sunny terrace in the afternoon and had a lovely diner in the evening. We just had a good and relaxed breakfast. Nice place to stay, besides visiting the old centre we did some shopping at the shopping mall, 10 min walking from the hotel.

What nice people who run this hotel/restaurant. Came to Germany from Syria 8 years ago and built a great company. Nothing is too much, top rooms decorated with beautiful materials. Highly recommended. Very nice location on the old canal with a view from the room of the old town hall.

We really liked the Mediterra in Papenburg. A modern, renovated room with air conditioning in midsummer was just right. All the service staff were friendly, nice and quick. The restaurant is also highly recommended: we really enjoyed the paella and the oriental meat mix with grilled vegetables. For dessert we ordered tiramisu: absolutely delicious!

Honestly, the pizza is some of the best in papenburg; it reminds me so much of all the pizza I had while working in Italy. It's very good!

We were there with a couple who were friends and had two great, newly modernized double rooms. We had a fantastic meal in the in-house restaurant. We had very tasty pizza scampi and very tasty tagliatelle with vegetables and salmon or shrimp. The waiter was also very professional. The breakfast in the morning was lovingly arranged with fresh ingredients. We were able to store our bikes very well in a separate room. We can highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant.

Very nice and courteous hospitality. We were there on a Sunday evening without a reservation and got a nice seat outside. Blankets are also available if you get cold. The pizzas were very tasty and the meat plate was also very good.

We had dinner at the MediTerra restaurant. The service and the oriental dishes are excellent. We had the oriental appetizer platter, the oriental chicken and tagliatelle with grilled vegetables and feta. Everything was delicious and is highly recommended. It should be emphasized that although our request for a place was initially not fulfilled due to reservations made by other guests, we later got a place that was nicer for us because the service staff had remembered our request. We found that very thoughtful. This restaurant is recommended in every respect. We will be back.

I would like to write something about the food, but unfortunately the restaurant is closed until July 19, 2024. But reservation was accepted online. Maybe someone should adjust the opening times and update the booking portal. It's closed and not open! 😡

Great location with delicious food.

What was happening there? I had reserved a table for two people in the fireplace room by telephone. However, when we arrived we were shown into the “salon”. When I was told that I had made a reservation in the fireplace room, we were assigned one of two free tables. But this still needs to be covered. This meant a paper napkin with three pieces of cutlery was placed on the table. So what. We ordered the mezze for two as a starter. I chose the paella, which according to the menu should take 35 minutes to be served, my husband chose a tuna steak, fried medium rare at the waiter's request. We wanted to bridge the waiting time for the paella with the starter. After 45 minutes our main courses were served. When I objected that we had ordered a starter, I was told that it should come with the main course. ??? The waitress wanted to take the main courses away again. We skipped it and our “starter” was also brought. We were offered a glass of wine as an apology. However, our wine bottle was still almost full. That's why we turned down the offer. I don't understand why I waited 45 minutes for a paella whose seafood was far dry. My husband's tuna steak was also completely cooked. When the waitress asked whether it was tasty, I listed the above-mentioned objections. No apology, we were just given an espresso. We have always enjoyed eating here and are very disappointed. 4.7. After our review was addressed here, we went out to eat here again today. They wanted to accommodate us in price. This time our meal, lamb on couscous and vegetables as well as a mixed grill plate, was very freshly prepared and the meat was on point. We were very satisfied. Thank you for your courtesy.

Was in the restaurant unaccompanied. The waiter came quickly and took the order. The drink came quite quickly and then we had to wait. Had to wait 1 hour for my main course. Then came the starter which was forgotten. If you're alone in the restaurant, things should go a little quicker (my opinion) Unfortunately the starter was not to my taste at all. Unfortunately, the main course wasn't really my thing either. Unfortunately the meat skewer was cold. At least the fried potatoes were okay. I was only in the restaurant here and the review refers to that. The food was excellent, even though we hadn't made a reservation, there was a nice table available for us. I would like to recommend the homemade pasta. For dessert I had tiramisu, which really impressed me. The next time I'm in Papenburg, I know where I'll have dinner.

Was there for dinner with my girlfriend. Mega friendly staff and super delicious food. The price is also absolutely right.

We were guests in the restaurant. The boss himself was super nice, the young service worker absolutely missed her job! The food was very tasty, the portions were definitely too small for us and our two children! A side of fries that cost €4.50 with mayo and ketchup should be more than a mini basket full & there was no mayo or ketchup either...on our meat skewer there were two small pieces of meat and half a small tomato. The plate was filled with lots of onions and parsley/cilantro. Personally, I think the total price of 25€ for the dish is so unjustified. It's a shame, it could have been so nice!
