Super nice hotel, very good location, great restaurant with excellent cuisine, very nice, polite staff. All in all worth more than 5 stars 🌟. Thank you very much and we would love to come back.

The ambience is top. Unfortunately there were two false alarms (fire), which was a bit annoying because it probably wasn't that quick to turn off the alarm system. When served, not everything was on the plates as ordered. My husband didn't like the fact that the fries he ordered were on another plate and then "reloaded" to him. The food itself was very tasty.

I was a guest at the Hotel Alte Werft for a conference without an overnight stay. The meeting room had great acoustics. The technical equipment is in a modern condition. The hotel, the conference area and the restaurant are designed in an industrial style. The food from the buffet was good and varied. The service was quick and friendly. The hotel is centrally located in Papenburg. There are various restaurants and shopping opportunities nearby.

Great hotel in a great location...we had a room on the top floor in the main building...view over the roofs of Papenburg...very central...breakfast was in the converted old shipyard...very Inviting atmosphere...breakfast great...staff too 👍...I can recommend it 100%...

Beautiful accommodation with a historical flair

Nice place, quiet, with easy parking around. Wide and varied breakfast. Comfortable beds. Nice staff. Unfortunately today I ordered my lunch, 10 minutes later a group of approximately 30 people arrived, and they no longer served me... A professional service would have been able to attend to my order, and would not have left me waiting pointlessly. How long will we have to wait when the restaurant has 100% capacity?

Absolutely recommended! We had a room on the ground floor. It was really very spacious, nothing was missing. Early in the morning you could sometimes hear the rushing of water from the other rooms. Personally it didn't really bother me, if you're sensitive about it you might want to choose a different room. Even the blackout options did not result in an absolutely light-tight room. But that didn't really bother me either. Overall, that would be complaining on a high level. The bed was nice and hard and I really liked it. All the staff at the hotel are extremely friendly, it is clean and the breakfast is great. Parking directly in front of the hotel is free. I would definitely come back here.

Simply outstanding. After several visits to various hotels in Papenburg, I have to say that the Alte Werft puts all previous hotels in the shade (despite the high price). Ambience, facilities, staff, breakfast buffet - everything was tip top. The fact that we got a free room upgrade was the icing on the cake. Gladly again at any time!

I was a guest at the Werft Hotel in mid-August with a group of 9 people. From the day of booking until departure I can only give 5 stars. The restaurant reservation and the menu ordered with the banquet boss are excellent, and the service in the restaurant is extremely friendly and attentive to the guest. The menu was excellent, not only the taste but also a feast for the eyes. The wine list hardly leaves anything to be desired, I didn't expect that, perfect. I won't particularly mention the breakfast here, if you can't find anything here, you don't have anything at home either, it's just pretty good. I won't say much about the furnishings, everything is very clean and practically furnished without a veil of the last decade. When I checked out, I noticed something special: the anteroom at the reception was being cleaned or vacuumed. At the moment I arrived, work was interrupted so that we could check out in peace. As a frequent traveler, this has never happened to me, perfect. We enjoyed the special flair of the old shipyard and will be happy to do it again. I'll be happy when the old Schnürboden is completely renovated. Peter

Friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the hotel/room was very good. The location at the end of the pedestrian zone and at the harbor is nice. The proximity to the Meyer shipyard.

A nice hotel. However, the hotel still lacks personality. Everything still seems very cool and if you stand in the hallway in front of the room, you somehow get a hospital atmosphere. We wouldn't choose the hotel a second time.

WOW … impressive! Friendly bilingual staff, big clean spacious rooms, FREE parking, WIFI, soothing music through out, well kept yard, boat pier 50 meters away. You MUST try the dinner menu. I will be back!

We wanted to stay at the hotel for a few days, but when we found out that we could only rent our electric car for a flat rate of €70! We looked for an alternative to recharge. 70€ for 1x charging is 1€ - 3€ for kWh depending on the battery size. This is usury!

Slept 1 night on the way from Aarhus to Zandvoort! Top room with Nespresso! Hotel location top on Industrial heritage! Restaurant in old factory hall, very spacious and cozy! Dinner of excellent quality and good prices for 2 people €50 pp incl. wine! Breakfast so extensive with salmon herring eggs to order even honeycomb! In short, a relief and highly recommended!

We were only here for breakfast. Very nice atmosphere. Generous in space. Very nice service. Breakfast was perfect. No wishes were left unfulfilled. Large selection of coffee and juices. Very large selection of tea. Omelette and fried eggs were freshly prepared. Make your own waffles, pancake machine. The price of €25 per person is very steep. But you get a lot and of high quality. Still only 4 stars because the price is already at the highest limit.

Wonderfully quiet location, a very attractive hotel with a highly recommended restaurant.

We were on a short trip to Papenburg and out of necessity I asked reception if I could use the toilet. Of course I would have paid for the use. The lady at the reception refused me this because the toilets were only for hotel guests and I should use a public toilet. I found this behavior outrageous. By the way, the public toilet was closed.

Beautiful hotel on the old Meyer Werft site. The restaurant that serves as a breakfast room in the morning is in one of the old halls where the taps still hang above your eaves. Decoration is very nice and staff very friendly. The breakfast is very extensive with something for everyone. We had a large deluxe double room, which was very spacious and on the top floor. A full-length balcony with a beautiful view. The beds are wonderful and there is everything you need. The hotel is spacious. SUPER

Simply a dream hotel....from the staff....to the rooms....to the breakfast.....simply first class...

The pictures of the hotel give a wrong impression! I booked the hotel after looking at the great pictures on booking and Google. When we arrived in room 137 there was no sign of it at all, see photo. The room was dreary and not worth the money, so I would not recommend the hotel let alone visit it again. Not even a picture on the wall, remote control sealed in a bag, unpleasant smell,... One star because less is not possible! The positive thing is the breakfast, which is really good and plentiful. The price quoted for it is also very positive. Nevertheless, the absolutely disappointing stay in a room that was not only not worth the money, but also had a lasting negative impact on the visit to Papenburg.

Location: nestled between small canals in the countryside in close proximity to the old town, the train station, shopping opportunities and (for example) a very good fish restaurant. The in-house restaurant is also recommended and the beer garden is also very nice. The large rooms, under the roof with a 10m long balcony or 15m long window front, leave nothing to be desired. The rooms are very clean, tidy and practically furnished. There are several USB ports distributed throughout the room and the television can be rotated either towards the living room or towards the bedroom. The ambience, 'industrial culture', is obsolete and beautifully implemented. The 'walking cat' (jargon for cable crane on girders) in the restaurant completes the picture. The price(s) is/are reasonable. TOP!

Great hotel and the deluxe room was a dream. The Modern Industrial style atmosphere is breathtaking and the staff is impeccable and very helpful. No wish was denied. Especially the bed which was hard at the beginning and a topper was available upon request. And then it was like sleeping on cotton candy. The view is also very pleasant and the sunrise was particularly great from the top. The room size is just right, but the position of the closet is really inappropriate. Nevertheless, the buffet breakfast was very opulent and fresh. Great selection and super nice staff. If we didn't live so close to this hotel. I would book more often😂

An architecturally highly interesting ensemble - the restaurant is installed in a former shipyard hall. Three 'towers' contain the excellently equipped rooms and meeting rooms. The employees are competent and polite. A beer garden rounds off the gastronomic offering - highly recommended 😊

A very spacious and large hotel over several floors. The location is unique for Papenburg. Everything you need to spend a nice weekend in Papenburg is within walking distance: the beautiful city center, numerous restaurants, bistros and pubs. The hotel is in a very quiet and idyllic location on the old main canal. The reception was very nice and accommodating. The rooms can be reached via an elevator, among other things. They are very spacious, clean and modernly furnished. Coffee machine, refrigerator, double beds, dressing room, large shower room with hairdryer. The reception is open 24 hours. There are enough parking spaces at the hotel and the parking lot is under video surveillance. The restaurant offers excellent food at reasonable prices. There is a bar that is open as long as there are guests and a hearty breakfast is served in the morning

Very nice restaurant, but we were a little disappointed with the choice of food. For a restaurant in an upscale hotel, a bit too much burgers and actually nothing special on the menu. Price wise but OK.

A really nice hotel with a very pleasant atmosphere. We had a hotel arrangement and stayed in the main tower. A nice double room.Clean and tidy. The restaurant is very nice, the food is high quality and very good. As part of the half board we got a three-course menu. You could choose from two dishes for the main course. You can have a drink at the hotel bar from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Breakfast was a buffet. There was nothing missing. Such a wide variety of high-quality food is what sets this restaurant apart. The staff tries very hard to ensure that the guest really likes it or has a good time. Very friendly. As soon as you enter the hotel you notice the pleasant atmosphere. Check-in and check-out was effortless. The employees with a genuine smile. The location of the hotel is central. It is very well located, especially when there are events. The event rooms are directly opposite. A parking lot is directly in front of the hotel and is free of charge. Price performance is right and we would like to come back.

A great hotel And a beautiful place to work

We always enjoy staying at this hotel. Breakfast is varied and the food in the restaurant is very good. During our last stay we were given a different room than usual on the 4th floor of the main tower. It was louder than we were used to. It was clean, but you could hear the elevator and conversations in the hallway when you were lying in bed. The hotel bar was also a point of criticism. The four of us had ordered drinks and waited in vain for the "nibble bowl" that you get with your drinks in every good hotel bar. When we asked the bartender about it, he said we could buy snacks in the form of peanuts and nibbles from him. We found that very unusual and had never experienced anything like that before in a 4 star hotel at a bar where 4 people were consuming drinks. Nevertheless, the hotel has flair and almost all of the employees are very friendly. We also appreciate the direct location to the city of Papenburg

This is the second time we have been here, we also spent the night here in September. It's super clean here, great breakfast and very friendly staff. And then the entire decoration, both inside and outside the hotel, is fantastic. We are already looking forward to the next time. A big 10.

The Hotel is located right along the canal and it is easy to walk from the Hotel through the small town and discover the area. Getting there by car is a bit challenging but manageable and the nice thing you will have to drive underneath the old crane. The young staff team was very friendly and helpful and did their best to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The Restaurant offers a good selection of Food and Drinks and the atmosphere was quite nice. Since there are no roads with lots of traffic near by, it was very quiet and this gives you a very good nights rest. I can recommend this place very much.

Sehr schönes Industriedenkmal mit hervorragender Tagesküche. Salatvorspeise mit Scampi, Rumpsteak mit Schmorgemüse und Kartoffeln! Sehr lecker und auf den Punkt gegart. Dazu ein herrliches Ambiente aus den Anfängen des Industriezeitalters.

Wir waren "nur" im Restaurant vom Hotel. Und wir waren so begeistert, dass wir den nächsten Tag wieder gekommen sind. Daher kann ich die Schnitzel und Hamburger Menüs nur empfehlen! Einfach Weltklasse! Der Hamburger war der beste, den ich je gegessen habe, einfach großartig!

The best in the hotel is the front desk and restaurant staff! They mad my business stay amazing! Location is great, quiet and neat. Food is awesome! My company paid for the stay, so i dont have much to say about that, but overall the pricing of the hotel should be mid ranged. Not a fancy 5 star hotel, but perfect if you are traveling through or a tourist for a few days. Truly can recommend to anyone, i loved my 2 weeks at the Alte Werf! Great Staff; way to go!

Das Hotel ist schön eingerichtet. Alte Maschinen stehen im Eingangsbereich.Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich.

Die zwei Sterne für das Zimmer ziehe ich für das Badezimmer ab, diese sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen und hätten während Corona mal renoviert werden müssen. Wirklich ein perfektes Frühstück das keine Wünsche offen läst.

Waren nur zum Essen da kan man empfehlen sehr interessant die Halle .

Das Hotel ist sehr schön und geschmackvoll, das Restaurant jedoch war nicht überzeugend. Das teure Fischpfännchen schmeckte nicht " weder nach ihr noch nach ihm" .Schade sooo teuer und dann ein Reinfall

Ein sehr schönes Hotel. Das Personal höflich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer gut ausgestattet und sauber. Die Lage ausgezeichnet für Ausflüge, egal ob mit Auto, Fahrrad oder zu Fuß.

Waren dort nur im Biergarten. Sehr schön angelegt.

Mooie grote kamers, ontbijt is uitgebreid en goed verzorgd.
