After waiting 5 minutes at the entrance, the (probably) operator came, small slim woman in her late 40s with black hair and just looked bad, instead of saying hello or something, she asked her: do you want something? Mega unfriendly !! Then she said, there is no more room, but we had seen 3 tables were free, and she didn’t mean later either. We were then at the Ann and on the way back we had seen the tables were still free. Really unfriendly woman

Delicious food! We had a large group & asked the server to bring us things to share. She did a great job asking about allergies and whether we ate meat. The things she brought were so good!

This was our first time at Medea. It was okay, but we probably won't go back. The portions are very small. A skewer with three pieces of meat, a kind of ratatouille, is truly a joke. The meat weighs maybe 80-100g, if that. The puri bread is a simple baguette. The main courses simply lack side dishes. Yes, the food is fresh and tasty, but it gets very expensive by the time you're full. 🫰 I think it's overpriced, but oh well... The cellars were very nice. 👍🏼

Since you have to put together your meal from individual components, it becomes confusingly expensive. The quality is good, but as a whole, the price is ultimately unreasonable. The service is very friendly but seems a bit overwhelmed. Only after asking several times was it possible to pay.

Food of the highest caliber. Simply a dream. The chef is a master of his craft. Everything is just right here. The food is of the highest quality, the kitchen prepares it beautifully, and the service is extremely attentive. We drove 120 kilometers for this visit and would do it again anytime. A delight. The food was truly delicious. The appetizer and one of the dishes were generous in quantity. The other dish was actually very small, and therefore overpriced for the price, even though it was delicious. The waitresses were having a bad day (when asked), as it took an extremely long time to serve drinks, sometimes only arriving after the third request. The ambiance is pleasant, but we felt it lacked a bit of authenticity and a special charm.

Very friendly welcome. No reservation necessary outside. Parking is difficult! We had something put together for us. Absolutely delicious, both the vegetarian and meat dishes. Highly recommended!

Our favorite restaurant in all of Kiel! We love the food, the staff is great, and above all, the atmosphere is fantastic!

Today, four of us went there for the first time. The bread and the chicken skewer were very tasty. The shrimp weren't seasoned to my liking, and the shrimp were poor quality, even very fishy. The fried mushrooms were okay, as you'd expect. The Georgian lemonade, aka strawberry lemonade, was also okay, but nothing special—except for the price. The service was perhaps new, and even though it wasn't busy, we waited a long time for everything, and many things arrived one after the other at a good interval. Unfortunately, she couldn't give us good advice when ordering, even when we asked. We wouldn't recommend it, but it was solid.

I've rarely eaten so well. So much attention to detail. And a fantastic selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Highly recommended!

There were three of us and we arrived quite early after opening. Sitting outside was no problem despite having a reservation. It was very cozy outside. The service was excellent, and the advice was good. The selection is large, but the dishes are well described, and you could ask questions. Everything was freshly prepared and served. The taste of the different dishes is simply wonderful and hard to compare with any other cuisine. Tapas-style, you can sample everything and share. They also serve great wines. We stayed under €50 per person, including tip, but we also ordered a bottle of wine and seven dishes.

The food was good. We had the "supra," and the kitchen offered a well-diversified selection. The atmosphere was quiet, slightly secluded. The restaurant was busy.

What a magical experience! A wonderful group of people who do everything they can to help guests feel welcome and seen. The food is delicious. We will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, a disappointing visit Our last visit to the restaurant was not so successful. We had ordered some items in advance via email, but they were never made available. Even after asking, we received no clear response. The service was unfortunately unattentive – we often felt overlooked or deliberately ignored. Several people walked past our table without noticing us. This was especially unfortunate because we were celebrating a birthday. There wasn't even a vase prepared for the flowers we brought, which should have been a given. We've enjoyed our visit in the past, but this visit was disappointing.

Delicious, authentic, always happy

Four of us visited the restaurant and sat outside under a tree in the countryside. We opted for a personalized menu, and were served several plates of various Georgian delicacies, which barely had room on the table. Unfortunately, we forgot to take photos. The food was delicious and plentiful, so everyone was more than satisfied. The only downside was the lack of attention from the staff. I had to repeat my second drink order, for example, and they didn't respond to empty glasses. This seems to be due to the large number of restaurant guests and a lack of staff. When you sit inside and it's full, the noise level is high, which I personally found annoying. Therefore, I can only recommend getting a table outside. The price of around €150 was reasonable.

We were guests here with three people on Whit Sunday. The three of us had to sit at a table for two in the back corner, even though we had a reservation. When we asked if we could get a larger table, we were told that all the tables for four were actually reserved for four. Unfortunately, that wasn't true; the next group of three was seated at a table for four next to us. About the food: The portions are extremely small for the price. We had two appetizers and three main courses. The eggplant starter was very tasty, and the Georgian bread with cheese was good. That's the only reason we gave it two stars and not one. The meat skewers we ordered, one lamb and one beef, were a disgrace. Three small pieces of meat, estimated at 80 grams per skewer, served without any side dish, except for a kind of ratatouille. The beef was overcooked and completely oversalted, while the lamb was edible. That said, we quickly left and got a fantastic kebab next door.

Yesterday, my friends and I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant. The menu doesn't have many dishes, but everything we ordered was delicious. The staff is friendly, the service was fast, but unfortunately, there was no dessert. I can recommend this restaurant to everyone.

A first-class culinary experience with great service Who knows Georgian food? We were very excited about our first visit to Medea, which we had heard beforehand was supposed to be truly authentic with its Georgian chefs. We were not disappointed, quite the opposite: Looking at the menu, we were curious on the one hand, but almost confused on the other by all the completely unfamiliar dishes, but our Georgian waiter helped us with good tips and many explanations. We chose two starters and one main course per person and plunged into a first-class culinary adventure. The food arrived promptly and beautifully presented: Badrijani Medea, Tsiteli Charkali, Qvavilovai Kombosto, Khachapuri, Soko Mushrooms, and main courses, including various mzvabi and k'ababi with perfectly cooked meat: A wow experience! Everything was super delicious, of course very exotic for us, but truly exquisite, an absolute (positive) taste experience. We were also excited about the Georgian wine. We tried two varieties of Saperavi, very different from each other, both excellent and a discovery in their own right. All in all, a journey of discovery into fascinatingly flavorful and spicy cuisine with great service. Highly recommended; we'd love to come back!

Wir waren sehr gespannt auf unseren ersten Besuch im Medea, von dem wir im Vorfeld erfahren hatten, dass es mit seinen georgischen Köchen wirklich authentisch sein soll. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht, ganz im Gegenteil: Beim Blick in die Speisekarte waren wir einerseits neugierig, andrerseits fast verwirrt ob all der uns völlig unbekannten Gerichte, aber unsere georgische Bedienung half uns mit guten Tipps und vielen Erklärungen weiter. Wir wählten 2 Vorspeisen und 1 Hauptgang pro Person, und stürzten uns in ein kulinarisches Abenteuer der Extraklasse. Das Essen kam zügig und schön angerichtet: Badrijani Medea, Tsiteli Charkali, Qvavilovai kombosto, Chatschapuri, Soko Champignons, dazu als Hauptgerichte u.a. verschiedene Mzwabi und K'ababi mit übrigens perfekt auf den Punkt gebratenem Fleisch: Ein Wow Erlebnis! Alles super lecker, natürlich sehr exotisch für uns, aber wirklich fein, ein absolutes (positives) Geschmackserlebnis. Gespannt waren wir auch auf den georgischen Wein. Wir hatten zwei Sorten Saperavi, sehr unterschiedlich, beide hervorragend und eine Entdeckung für sich. Alles in allem eine Entdeckungsreise in eine faszinierend geschmackvoll-würzige Küche mit tollem Service. Absolute Empfehlung, wir kommen gerne wieder!

I was there for the first time last night and I was blown away! We were 30 minutes early and were seated at the "New Year's Eve table" 😂 The staff were in a great mood and the food was AMAZING! The first visit to Medea. I had never eaten Georgian before and was excited. The menu/dishes are different. The food for our group came quickly. Inquiries were made in advance regarding intolerances. Unfortunately, no mention was made of the spiciness of the dishes. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat my dish of shrimps with pomegranate and onion sauce. All dishes seem to be very spicy, as our family confirmed. Many people can certainly tolerate it, unfortunately not me at all. Shame about the food. Tip: Maybe just point out the Georgian spiciness on the menu. Overall we liked it and if you like spicy it's an interesting menu. Service very nice.

We always come here to eat on our anniversary and are thrilled every time! If the restaurant is full, it can get louder, but if you reserve your table for 5 p.m. (opening time) you can avoid it a bit, as most people tend to come from 6 p.m. :) In terms of price, the portions could be a little cheaper (or there could be larger portions, e.g. 4 instead of 3 eggplant rolls), but you don't come here to eat often. The service is super nice and also asked us about any intolerances (e.g. coriander)! Overall great ❤️

I was at the Medea restaurant over the weekend and everything was excellent, delicious food and good service. The eggplant with walnuts was incredible, you won't find something like this in many restaurants in Georgia. The Adjarian Khachapuri dough was amazing, even the cheese was perfect and the service was very pleasant. As a recommendation: It would be good if they improved the interior design and added more Georgian accents. They have a very good kitchen and service and it would be nice to make the interior even nicer. My recommendation for your restaurant, but where is Khinkali? -_- I understand that it is difficult to prepare khinkali outside Georgia, but try it, you have good cooks and you will definitely succeed. Our - by far - favorite restaurant in Kiel, and has been for years. Everything perfect! Incredibly delicious cuisine, great service, wonderful ambience, a boss who shows her passion for what she has built there. We are more than happy to come here every time we visit our city of study.

Delicious food in manageable portions, so you can choose two different dishes. Service careful and nice. Very crowded in the evening and therefore louder. A tablecloth on the table might give the whole thing a more cozy atmosphere.

Yesterday we ordered a menu in a large group and were given various starters as a first course and then the main courses. We were asked again in advance about any intolerances. The menu was very tasty and was completely sufficient. Especially the bread (pizza), the cauliflower and the potatoes were very tasty.

Traditional Georgian cuisine is served here. Small restaurant where there is no chance of getting a table without pre-ordering. Cozy atmosphere, small selection of dishes on the menu, friendly staff. I had a small bowl of bean stew. If you are very hungry, you should definitely order either the Georgian bread or the potatoes as a side dish to fill you up. There was also a very small bowl with crispy white cabbage salad, which was marinated together with beetroot. There were sprouts as a topping The peppermint tea consisted of fresh spearmint mint poured with boiling water. There was also a small pot of brown sugar.

The food was delicious and truly special. Medea is worth the experience! The four of us had a set menu put together and were extremely full at the end and totally thrilled with the dishes. The set menu allowed us to discover many new things, which was well worth it. Including drinks and a lot of food, we paid around €40 each. Worth every cent! Parking isn't necessarily available at the restaurant, but you can park your car easily at the nearby Blücher Platz.

The last time I was there was around 5 years ago and I was totally enchanted, a special kind of taste experience. Unfortunately I have to say from my visit there yesterday that I/we didn't like it at all. The dishes, especially the meat skewers, were over-seasoned, too much coriander, too much garlic. I'm totally disenchanted and won't go there again. The prices are awesome for what you get there.

Very popular and without a reservation you have to turn around. The food was very tasty, beautifully prepared and a little different in a good sense. It's worth coming for several people and then all the food can be shared. The main courses don't come with any side dishes like rice, couscous or whatever, only what's actually on the menu, so one main course per person isn't enough. The Georgian red wine (see picture) was really, really tasty and the traditional chacha was also good!

First of all, you can say that the food is very tasty. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right. The portions are very small, but the price is very high. In addition, the service was very bad. It took a good half an hour before we could even order our drinks, even though there were very few guests in the restaurant. Nothing further was explained to us about the menu, for example what the dishes meant or that you should order a few "small dishes" to share or something similar (like in a real tapas bar), which was a shame. Over time the place became a bit more crowded, which meant the acoustics suffered a lot and it was very loud. It was also relatively cold. At the beginning we had a window seat, it was hard to stand here as it was very cold, which made us move around. As we observed, many other guests felt the same way. Overall, the food was very tasty, but the surroundings are simply not right for these prices, which means I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

The two of us were there in the evening during the week. We initially had a window seat, but it was quite cold there and we moved. Overall, it wasn't very well heated in the restaurant and some heaters were off. The guests at the next table were also cold and sat there in jackets. Although the restaurant was quite empty, it took around 30 minutes for our order to be taken. The food and drinks came quickly and everything was very well prepared. But the portions were very small in relation to the price. The staff could have pointed out that the portions are small and more like tapas. The payment was only made upon request. In my opinion, the service was lousy and the price-performance ratio was underground. Overall the restaurant was very clean. The restaurant does not have parking spaces and you have to look for one in the residential area. This imbalance can lead to long walks and should be taken into account by less mobile people. The entrance to the restaurant is reached via a step, but there is also a ramp on the stairs. The restaurant is otherwise barrier-free.

Very nice staff, food delicious, but very little for these prices! For a slightly larger Civappcici with little around it, almost 17 euros is quite a deal!

There were four of us here and we spontaneously made a reservation for 5 p.m. We were told on the phone that we could only have the table until 6:30 p.m. We agreed to that. We ordered the “ship bread” with the egg on top, two chicken dishes, two skewers each of beef and chicken, beetroot salad, falafel and bread with garlic dip. Unfortunately we didn't find the price/performance ratio right, e.g. beetroot salad for around €8. It was just some beetroot with lots of coriander. The portions are extremely small and the coriander content is extremely high. Unfortunately, some dishes were even inedible because there was so much coriander. The service was very nice. Unfortunately, due to the time, we were no longer allowed to order dessert. The decor was nice but the space is quite small and once all the tables were occupied the noise was very loud.

It was our first time at Medea as the restaurant had been recommended to us many times. The food was really great. If you don't like coriander, you should definitely let us know. But we were also asked. As time went on, the restaurant became more and more crowded and the volume naturally increased. So over time it became a bit busy and no longer really a relaxed atmosphere. Nevertheless, I can also recommend Medea, especially because it is a “different” cuisine. So if you don't want to go to the Italian restaurant for the 100th time and are open to new things, you'll definitely be in good hands at Medea.

The food in the Medea Gorgish Restaurant was super delicious. The staff were really friendly and attentive, and the place is really cozy. It's a little more expensive, but the quality is definitely worth it. I can only recommend it and would be happy to come back.

Food was tasty, but small portions for a high price. Waiter nice, but not often at the table. Unfortunately we couldn't eat at the same time, the dishes arrived about 5-10 minutes later. Overall it was okay.

Very tasty food :) When ordering, keep in mind that side dishes have to be ordered separately. Otherwise you really only get what is written there! It's also relatively narrow, not too narrow, but if you don't like crowded restaurants you should probably make a reservation and ask when it's usually not so busy haha.

We had a menu put together. The starters were elaborately draped, but didn't blow us away in terms of taste. Of course, this can be personal and individual. The main course included: Minced skewers, which I found too flimsy. I even presented Georgian wine more spectacularly for an area (Caucasus) where viticulture was invented. The service tried hard, but didn't show up at our table for a long time. But everything was fine, we tried it. It was fully booked. 🙋🏼

The Medea in Kiel always inspires me! I've been there a few times and the food has impressed me every time. The Georgian dishes are incredibly tasty and have that certain something - the taste is really first class. I particularly love the tapas-style concept, where you can share the dishes at the table. This means you can try out the various delicacies, which is always a highlight. The service is also worth mentioning and deserves high praise. Even when the restaurant is really full, the team remains incredibly friendly and quick. Everything is served with a smile and I just feel completely at home there. You can tell that hospitality is very important here. Yes, it can get crowded and you'll be a little crowded together, but that's exactly what gives the restaurant its special charm. The ambience is cozy and rounds off the experience perfectly. In terms of price, the Medea is on the higher end, but it is worth every cent. You really get something special here! I can recommend Medea to anyone who appreciates excellent service and enjoys exceptionally good food. I will definitely come back!

On recommendation, for the first time, we reserved a table for two people before going to the theater. We decided on various dishes... among others. beetroot salad, falafel with yoghurt mint dip, bread with aioli dip, pastured beef skewer, rose mushrooms in herbs, dill jacket potatoes. In summary, I can't decide which dish was the highlight...every dish prepared in its own right was terrific. Nicely presented, tastefully prepared. Staff very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back and I'm already looking forward to it. Everyone should be able to enjoy the delicacies from Georgia there.

Very great restaurant. Food very tasty and a great new experience

So the food was phenomenal and it was very interesting to get to know the cuisine. We would actually come back, but only if it wasn't full. We arrived before 7 p.m. and waited almost 60 minutes for our first drink and even longer for the food (almost 80 minutes until the first dishes arrived). When asked, an apology and a bowl of bread were offered. Afterwards this was added to the bill, which was a real shame given the waiting time. The last dishes came at 9 p.m. and our last beers didn't come at all. I would have liked to give it 5 stars, but the service and food were too different.

Stay one night in Kiel after your vacation. Landed here spontaneously. What a discovery! No wonder that both the garden and the restaurant were full: the food is great - and we "only" had salad and lamb skewer. The plum sauce is an awakening experience. It's not a big deal that our first drink was forgotten and arrived too late. Thank you very much! (Unfortunately, photos of the food were forgotten due to hunger and enthusiasm.)

The foods tasted good, especially the lamb and beef. But what confuses me is that why these two dishes are so small portions and served without staple food, even no a piece of bread with it. So we have to order the bread, whose sauce was really nice, the chili oil did hit my tongue. Another point I really don’t understand is that why we were taking to a table in the corner of restaurant in the beginning , though at that time there was only one table with guests. In total, I think the portion of food should be bigger and with some staple food. Of course, maybe you are trying to be “exquisite ”.
