McDonald's in Mettmann

Instead of putting the contest stickers on the cups, they were just lying in a box. I should have received nine, but the employee only gave me three! Absolutely outrageous. The tablet clearly stated three prizes for the menu, and I had three, meaning nine stickers. Didn't they pay attention in math class?

No one there understands the staff, and they have no clue about their work or their own products. If the card reader malfunctions, you only find out at the counter, having wasted 20 or 30 minutes. The employees at the drive-thru are always unfriendly. This shouldn't be happening!

It's just like McDonald's usually is, and it tastes great. What's important to me is that it's clean and the food is hot. Both are true here.

I came here again after a long time, hoping things had improved. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The store was empty, and I had pre-ordered at the terminal. Even so, I still had to wait seven minutes at the checkout. They seemed more preoccupied with decorating the Christmas tree. Please provide better service.

This McDonald's has gotten so bad. Cleanliness is nonexistent in the dining area and restrooms. The garbage trucks for disposing of leftovers are completely full, and no one is making any effort to clean it up. I've been here twice in a row today and ordered food. First, it arrived cold, and second, for the second time in a row, there was gristle in the meat. I was here again today, September 17, 2025. The entire McDonald's was filthy. Tables and garbage trucks were full of trash, and no one was caring about the cleanliness.

I always thought that you could at least expect a certain standard from McDonald's, which would also be implemented in every restaurant, but the McDonald's in Mettmann is by FAR the worst restaurant I have ever been to. At the McDonald's Drive-in you basically wait forever, regardless of whether you order a meal or a coffee. But today was the icing on the cake. We ordered two latte macchiatos and despite the McDonald's Drive-in and parking lot being empty, we waited 10!!! minutes to the side until the coffee was brought to us. As we ordered one with lactose-free milk, we asked which of the two came with which milk. They couldn't answer our question. Instead, the employee disappeared with both coffees, only to come back another 10 minutes later with what looked like two new coffees....

During my visit here in Mettmann, the trash bins were full, so everything was piled up on five tables. During my entire stay, none of the staff members seemed to care about the cleanliness of their surroundings. Besides me, this situation also negatively affected other guests. Simply filthy...

You enter the restroom first. A pungent odor hits you. The soap dispenser hangs next to it, but there are paper towels, yer! The place is freezing cold. Apparently, there's no heating. Crushed fries lie on the floor. But the food comes quickly, and the staff are friendly. Everything's warm. Enjoy!

Both of my McFlurrys were very, very lightly filled. Even the salad in the wrap was heavily skimped on.

For the most part, I haven't gotten anything to drink, and the order I always make is missing things, like today. This Friends character in this store is starting to piss me off. They send normal people there instead of working, and not people who can't do anything. I'd really like half my money back, because I only get half.

The visit was an absolute disgrace. The restaurant was extremely dirty, the restrooms were in terrible condition, and the food was served cold. Furthermore, several drinks were sold out. I've never experienced anything like this before... Dirty tables, dirty floor. Full tray cart. Mistakes in all orders... And then not even an apology or any other kindness. The 1 star isn't even deserved.

The order was incorrect. The store was very messy and disgusting. I didn't even dare go to the restroom. The tables were dirty, and the tray carts were overflowing, so the trays were piled up on the tables next to them. The food was good (it was McDonald's, after all)...

THE place to be!!! The staff performs on a whole new level; you quickly notice the professional status! 3 out of 4 ordering machines are junk, there are no cashiers, but they're usually clearly visible when you drive in, picking your nose while browsing behind the chip shop. In winter, it's like ice skating, in summer, it's greasy shoes. Chairs, tables, everything is smeared, so after standing for so long, sitting down is at least extremely uncomfortable. All in all, this place is a disaster, and if it were possible, it would give this outstanding restaurant performance a solid zero stars.

Yesterday I ordered a Happy Meal from a person at the counter, paid for it, and when I picked it up, I was told (after I asked for our toy!!!) that there were no toys. They put us off until our next visit or told me to come the next day. I then insisted on a note – it only had a name written on it – meaningless. Today I went there again, and what can I say – still no toys! I'm supposed to come after 5 p.m.!? Seriously!!?? I'm supposed to go there a third time for a Smurf? Today's visit was filthy beyond belief. A complaint will be filed with McDonald's. A lot of things are missing, including the Happy Meal selection.

We've been to McDonald's three times this year. Not even during peak hours. The workload should have been manageable for the employees. Yet, each time something was missing. Either a burger wasn't included, or sauces weren't packed, or instead of the raspberry turnover ordered, apple turnovers were packed in the bag. The child didn't receive a toy at all twice despite having a Happy Meal, and once received the completely wrong toy, which wasn't even in the display case. In the future, we'll give the Mettmann branch a wide berth and instead drive to Haan or Velbert, even if it's a longer journey.

Food like any other McDonald's – okay for a quick bite. Unfriendly and inattentive employees. No matter when we go, things are always given out incorrectly or completely forgotten (there wasn't much to do at the time). Long wait times. Always check before leaving the store. My second and last visit here! Still closed after 7 a.m.! Three people were waiting outside to leave when the door finally opened. Beware of a parking rip-off - €40, ParkDepot First of all: I've known this McDonald's branch since it opened in the late 1990s. Since then, I've met up with friends here every now and then, sometimes for burgers, sometimes for coffee and cake. It's actually convenient, being outside the city center, when you're near your old hometown and don't want to drive all the way through town to a meeting place. The atmosphere is fine for the purpose. And so it was in July 2025. On a Sunday. We kept ordering food and drinks for almost three hours, and everything was normal. But the bombshell came in the mail a week later. Apparently, McDonald's ME now has its parking lot managed by a company called "ParkDepot" - and they only allow 90 minutes of parking. After that, a rather arbitrarily chosen "contractual penalty" of €40 is due. The whole thing comes via a pseudo-official-looking letter with lots of threats and a short payment period of less than two weeks. A hefty sum for a provincial parking space. For that amount, you could have easily gotten a day ticket in a prime location in downtown Düsseldorf. In any case, it's clear to me: anyone who rips off their paying customers like that doesn't deserve me to go there again. Especially since it makes McDonald's Mettmann unusable as a cafe for me: who wants to constantly check their watch while talking to someone? For a €40 surcharge, you can get better options in the area! One less regular customer!

I was at McDonald's this morning for breakfast and I have never experienced anything so unfriendly in my entire career. No smile, no good morning. They just didn't feel like working. Then my order was deleted. They had to look at my receipt to see what I had ordered. Of course, my order was only half. I had to argue that the meal also included glasses. Absolutely disappointing and disrespectful service – I'd love to give it -5 stars! I had a box of 20 chicken nuggets, and several of them were undercooked – the breading was soft and mushy. When I asked an employee about it, he reached into my box without gloves and simply said, annoyed, "They're fresh, what's your problem?" – completely unprofessional. This review exclusively deals with the hygienic conditions in this branch. It's so super dirty that we decided to go back after ordering. The entire dining area was littered with leftover food, and the toilets were all contaminated with feces and urine. Even the soap dispenser and towels were on the floor. The walls were covered in old mayo. If it looks like that in front of the counter, I don't want to know what it looks like in the kitchen. Action should be taken urgently here! Well, I have to be honest, because of my job. As a sales representative, I go to McDonald’s very often. I have also been to Mettmann several times. Unfortunately the quality has deteriorated significantly. Double cheeseburger was completely fatty and actually inedible. I only really became aware of the hygienic conditions after I ate (or didn't eat) the burger, because then I went to the toilet. The edges of the toilet were full of shit, which I had to clean first, the urinal was full of urine and the floor was sticky to no end. The toilet seat is simply placed on top, so that I almost fell on my nose when I sat on it because it fell down and was completely broken. When I spoke to the staff, they said they would take care of it, but when I went there days later, the seat was still broken. I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like. I actually liked going to this McDonald’s, but it’s unbearable. Very unfortunate.

Somehow, McDonald's is no longer working. The food sizes have all gotten smaller and the burgers are always cold. There's no ice cream anymore. The restrooms are always dirty, it stinks, and the trash can is overflowing. The soap dispenser hangs at 8:30 because it's no longer properly attached. There are too few and too small parking spaces.

So it's a bit unpleasant when three out of four fries are practically cold and the nuggets are so cold that they're not even crispy anymore. We probably won't come back here again.
