Very good food in a beautiful and friendly atmosphere

A unique menu that goes beyond the usual sweet and sour "something" so common in Germany. Both meat-eaters and vegetarians will find something to enjoy. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I'll be back.

Delicious food! I had tofu with broccoli. The sauce was amazing! The prices are good. Wonderful!

A fantastic restaurant with incredibly delicious food. If you're looking for a truly good Chinese restaurant and are tired of "Germanized" Chinese food, you should definitely visit this gem. My recommendations are the fried eggplant for starters (even my husband, who doesn't normally like eggplant, loved it) and the spicy dumplings. For main courses, be sure to order the braised pork belly with star anise and cinnamon and the spicy fish. We'll definitely be back soon.

From the outside, the Mayflower looks rather unassuming and rustic—honestly, I probably would have just walked past if I hadn't been recommended to eat there. Luckily, I gave it a try, because the food completely won me over. The dishes are fresh, prepared with love, and of very good quality. You immediately notice the emphasis placed on authentic cuisine. This gives the ambiance, which appears simple at first glance, a very special charm. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and can recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy truly good Chinese food in Berlin.

Very good, authentic restaurant with many vegetarian options. The best Ma-la tofu (five-spice tofu) I've had since my stay in China.

The food is okay but it doesn't taste authentic Chinese but is adapted to German tastes I guess or the chef doesn't know the recipes or makes them up himself it's hard to say. It's okay but not authentic or anything special.

It was a culinary delight. 100% recommended. We received excellent service. Even the dish we ordered incorrectly was on the house. Thank you very much.

one of my best chinese food experiences in berlin. Look mostly at the small courses to have some very very typical cousine. I loved the paunch dish. Looking forward to try the tongue as well!

I'm always on the lookout for good Chinese restaurants and I'm glad I found this gem. The appetizer menu alone is worth the visit, especially the eggplant (炸茄子条) and the pickled vinegar (糖醋萝卜). The taste reminded me of my time studying in China, and the service was also very good. I'll definitely be back.

A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED CHINESE RESTAURANT A neighborhood Chinese restaurant, with interesting, varied, juicy, spicy and very VERY TASTY FOOD. Local atmosphere, pleasant and not sophisticated. We will come back here again soon to taste more dishes. The CHICKEN dish in SZECHUAN sauce was EXCELLENT, and the starter - FRIED EGGPLANTS was PERFECT!

Friendly staff, nice outside seating. Mapo Tofu was not too spicy, and a weird mix-up since the English menu says with pork, but the German one doesn't mention it. So no pork. Jujube tea was very good, quite sweet as well! Good value for money 🤝

The service at Mayflower is incredibly nice! You will receive great advice if you are unsure! We enjoyed both the meat dishes and the vegetarian dishes very much.

Good dishes and nice owner, but the service was really terrible, won’t come again. The taste is more authentic, the male boss is also very nice, but the female waitress has a very bad attitude. The first time I happily came to dinner, it ended up being extremely embarrassing and I was so angry for nothing. For the sake of the boss, I won’t give a bad review, but I definitely won’t come here again.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Berlin

Waited for our food for an hour. Had a soup as Vorspeise but tasted like sauce. Dumplings were okay. The eggplant plate was fantastic. Service was not super friendly.

Without a doubt one of the best traditional Chinese restaurants in Berlin. I've never been personally at the restaurant but I've ordered from them for over 3 years and I'm just in awe of how the food tastes and they also have big portions. Viva Mayflower! Viva!

Cozy atmosphere, very nice staff and amazing food. We had the assortment of 12 dumplings, pork belly and a cold beef dish (which was my favorite). Very flavorful and good portions! Will definitely come back!

I ordered a meal via Wolt 20 minutes ago, which I was told would take 20-30 minutes. So far so good - the delivery time was right My meal...Braised beef with radish and leek or spring onions + rice for €17 turned out to be a disappointment when I opened it. Ingredients like the onions in question were not in the food at all. Yes, radish, which had a sweet note, was present on the plate/container with a hint of carrot strips as if cut by a fairy. A quantity of beef pieces was also possible, but due to the lack of onions the food was 90% tasteless or should you call it bland. Nothing to taste of spices like 5Spice...coriander...cumin...pepper. Even a salty note was missing. The radish gave everything an indefinably sweet taste. So if the ingredients weren't even right, being present in the store would have been a clear reason for a complaint. Food does not match the menu description. I would definitely not recommend this shop or the food. There's something unloving about it, like a quick, quick ex & hop on the plate. This doesn't even have 80% to do with Asian cuisine and its aromatic preparation. It may be that it only concerns this food, but the first impression is definitely off-putting. Why does this work with Thai Aroma...Red Dragon...Lao Xiang etc. What ends up on the plate or in the bowl has never been a cause for complaint and has been a blessing for the Asian cuisine lover. With a knock-on effect. Here you have the feeling that you are simply being ripped off when it comes to out-of-home deliveries. The food offered turns out to be a cream puff 👎.

Very very tasty! For me, as an old Berliner who has already understood that everything somehow tastes the same, I have to say that it is positively different from the normal “Chinese”. Everything tastes differently seasoned. And also authentic and the Dumpling collection…. The hammer!!! The vegetarian dishes were also good, especially the eggplant in a delicious garlicky sauce. The double fried pork was also great….

Ich greife selten zur Superlative aber die Küche des Mayflower hat mich komplett überzeugt. Das Ambiente ist zudem nicht so klischeebehaftet wie in vielen anderen asiatischen Restaurants. Einzig bei der Freundlichkeit des Personals (gilt nicht für alle Mitarbeiter) besteht noch Luft nach oben.

The food is good average. The men's toilet is in poor condition, perhaps that's why it's so dark. Should the old restaurant rule "like the toilet, like the kitchen..." apply here?

The nurungji stew is a work of art! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and atmospheric.

From the moment I entered the restaurant I was amazed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The stylish furnishings and loving details create a pleasant environment that invites you to linger. The menu offers an impressive selection of traditional Chinese dishes. We decided on some classics. All the dishes were simply fantastic! The dim sum was freshly made, tender and full of flavor. The pork ribs were seasoned perfectly. I would particularly like to emphasize the excellent service. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. They took the time to make recommendations and ensure we were completely comfortable. Another plus is the restaurant's central location in Prenzlauer Berg, making it an ideal place to stop after a walk through the district. Overall, I highly recommend Mayflower! If you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in a cozy atmosphere, then this restaurant is for you. I'm looking forward to coming back soon and trying out more delicacies!

Really good homemade food and very kind service

Today the food was not good, it was the 4th time and probably the last. Shame.

The best chinese experiencie in Berlín. Came two times and will repeat for sure. Kung Pao chiken and bbq chinese pork are amazing but the best is the seaweed salad. 🚀🚀

Really bad. Nothing fresh and bad ingredients. Super slow and expensive. Places like this should close, look like they want to poison somebody. At least they are nice but I can’t recommend this place.

I was there with friends and the starter and main course were very tasty. The waiter was very nice and knew sign language. It was my first time there and I always enjoy coming back. Highly recommended!

Lots of unusual dishes, some very spicy. It tastes delicious. Mayflower is one of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood.

The food was very tasty and reasonably priced, served on beautiful dishes. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. I found the unfriendly and inattentive service very disappointing, as if the lady didn't know how to smile and the guests were getting on her nerves. The tone was also very harsh and impolite. It's a shame, because everything else was fine.

The 1,000-year-old eggs are interesting. Friendly service, but unfortunately no flyer to take away!!! Since I ordered "ORIGINAL CHINESE" I even got it very spicy for my standards!!! Delivery address available.

In my opinion, Mayflower is the best of all Chinese restaurants in Berlin. So completely different from what we usually know. I have always been served very tasty dishes here. The starters are recommended. The main courses were filling and very tasty. The prices are absolutely fair. I like to eat and recommend the spicy beef on vegetables with Sichuan peppers and chilli. And also the very intensely tasting braised pork belly (Mao's favorite dish). I can really recommend it highly!

Chinese with a difference, not like usual. For me, more authentic and very, very tasty.

Not sure if we ordered the wrong things but everything was kind of average. Took a while to get the attention of the staff and when we did, the lady serving us was not particularly friendly. We ordered a few of the dumplings, which were sadly overcooked and so the filling just fell out of the dumplings when you went to lift them with chopsticks. The smashed cucumber salad with chili oil and one of the aubergine dishes were really good, but the rest of what we had was unfortunately quite bland. If you're looking for good Chinese dumplings in the area, try Wok Show down the street. Again, may have been what we ordered, but sadly, wouldn't recommend.

It was our first visit there. Since we hadn't made a reservation, we were asked to wait a bit and were given a table for two. The service was very friendly and the food came relatively quickly, even though it was full. I had the sour-spicy soup and fried duck with hoisin sauce and I liked both very much. The portions were plentiful and the price/performance ratio was perfect. The restaurant is included in our list.

Very good. I don't know if it's authentic because I've never been to China ;) but all the dishes were delicious. We had two starters: a seaweed salad and dumplings, both very good. Then we ordered two main dishes of chicken (too good) and pork (equally good). We drank 2 beers each. Total €45. I will definitely be back

This restaurant amazes me every time. A large menu offers heaps of hidden delicacies from pork ears to beef tongue. I go here often and today found the tofu soup for 2, I was amazed, it was incredibly delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Reception was not very friendly, the layout was not very nice. It was a bit like a merger between America and Asia The food was sublime! We enjoyed! Due to the low prices it was difficult to determine how large the portions were, we had ordered way too much

Seit über sieben Jahren besuche ich dieses Restaurant jedes Mal, wenn ich in Berlin bin, und ich war nie enttäuscht worden. Ausgezeichnete chinesische Küche, so nah am Original wie möglich, was in Berlin, die mit chinesischen Lebensmitteln nicht sehr verwöhnt ist, nicht ganz einfach ist. Und das Wichtigste für mich ist, dass alle Gerichte hier generell ohne Glutomat zubereitet werden, worauf ich sehr empfindlich bin, und mit dem ich in allen anderen berühmten Restaurants der Stadt Probleme habe. Und all das zu sehr vernünftigen Preisen. Sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal, vor allem der Chef selbst. Meine absolute Empfehlung!

Das Gongbao Hühnerfleisch ist köstlich!! Kommt auch im Lieferservice immer noch lecker und warm an. Besonders gut ist das sie Vytal einsetzen!!

Das Essen ist wirklich hervorragend! Ich habe nur Vorspeisen genommen und bin sehr satt geworden. Ich hatte die Frühlingsrollen, Duplings mit Garnelen, den Eierreis, und die Kokossuppe. Meine Freunde hatten alle ein Hauptgericht und auch jeweils eine Vorspeise. Hauptgerichte waren die Ente, Glasnudeln und die anderen beiden weiß ich leider nicht mehr. Alles hat aber wirklich gut geschmeckt! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Ich habe SELTEN besser gegessen, nicht nur asiatisch - sondern generell. Die Vorspeisen war top, die Auswahl echt reichhaltig, die Portionen groß und alles so frisch. Das Beste, alles zu sehr fairen Preisen. Ich kann es immernoch kaum fassen, wie toll wir gegessen haben. Unfassbar. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

One of the best chinese restaurants in the neighborhood

Unser Lieblingsrestaurant! Absolute Empfehlung - die scharf angebratenen Auberginen sind der Hammer (hätte nie im Leben gedacht, dass ich eine Aubergine freiwillig essen würde…), die roten Rindfleisch-Teigtaschen, der geschmorte Schweinebauch, der Tofu-Salat auch. Wir haben uns in den letzten Jahren quer durch die Speisekarte gegessen und wurden nie enttäuscht.

Better than average Berlin Chinese with a selection of more diverse dishes for German standard, such as Sichuan beef or fish. I had high hopes as I just moved into the area. Ultimately disappointing compared to other restaurants. Too much onion in cumin lamb, which reminds me of a blander version of Australian suburban Chinese. Not what I was expecting for this dish I’ve had elsewhere in the world. Tasted very anglicised. I had the Sichuan fish, it was not very oily compared to how it is usually prepared so lacked a bit of flavour. It’s close to being quite good but just misses the mark, my guess because of availability of local ingredients. Frozen lotus roots are in easy supply. There are better Sichuan options in Berlin. The veg dishes we ordered were a bit in the bland sweet side. We had the eggplant, marinated tofu skins and Chinese cabbage dishes. I don’t think carrots should go with tofu skins, but we’re in Germany. But if you can afford to pay for ordinary - it’s not bad. There is Definitely worse! Maybe they are better at other dishes? Or they just cater to local taste buds. But if you know better you’ll be dissatisfied.

Petit restaurant chinois sympa, ambiance cosy, prix raisonnable, portions savoureuses et généreuses.

Ich war heute mal wieder seit längerer Zeit in dem Restaurant und ich muss sagen, das Essen ist noch immer so gut wie in meiner Erinnerung. Es ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Das perfekte Essen. Wir haben einige Gerichte bestellt und alle haben sehr lecker geschmeckt. Am meisten empfehlen kann ich: 1) D5 - Teigtaschen mit Garnelen in einer super leckeren Chili-Soße (aber nicht scharf) 2) 19 - Gebratene Aubergine (mein Favorit) 3) 71 - Geschmorte Aubergine

Eine sehr gemütliche Stimmung und köstliches Essen. Aber es wäre besser gewesen, wenn auf der Speisekarte der Name des Biers gestanden hätte, statt nur "Bier".
