Very good food and very friendly staff

High level of service Very nice atmosphere, I took lots of photos. The food is top-quality: I recommend the tuna and beef cold appetizers as a cold appetizer, and the Beef Lemonaze ​​as a main course. The meat is tender and perfectly spiced. Finally, for dessert, I recommend the mango coconut cream.

May Restaurant is the perfect mix of cozy vibes, amazing food, and super friendly service – can’t wait to go back!

A very nice restaurant with a great ambience

My wife found the restaurant online and went there for the first time yesterday, September 13, 2025, and we were absolutely thrilled. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but the other food is excellent. The appetizer was very good, the dessert was very good, and the service was excellent. I would happily recommend this restaurant. I've never been so pleasantly surprised.

I can truly recommend the May Restaurant without reservation. The atmosphere, the incredibly friendly and attentive staff, and the excellent cuisine – everything is simply fantastic! Authentic Southeast Asian dishes with a modern twist and always beautifully presented. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would do it here – especially the service is always impressive. Thank you for all the delicious evenings so far – I'm already looking forward to many more! 😊

Super perfect food from start to finish

A fantastic Vietnamese restaurant with excellent value for money. The meat, in particular, was wonderfully juicy and plentiful, along with crisp, lovingly selected vegetables – a perfect complement to the dishes. The interior may not be large (it's downtown, after all), but it's very cozy and pleasant. Highly recommended – five stars and a definite return guarantee!

Wonderful restaurant, excellent food, beautifully presented, a very good vegetarian selection, which is also clearly indicated on the menu. Very attentive and fast service, even though it was quite busy (reservations are highly recommended). We even had a surprise brought to our table because we were celebrating a birthday. The only minor criticism is that it's quite loud for conversation, as the tables are quite close together and it was very busy. But that ultimately speaks volumes about the quality of the restaurant. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Positive: The food tastes really good. Negative: - Really expensive, even for Munich (pad thai veggie for €20 was the cheapest main course). - The lack of a high-class atmosphere, perhaps to justify the exorbitant prices. And it's poorly done, too. First example: You get a white napkin placed on your lap – I'd almost say "forced." Not when the food is served, but immediately when you order. So you end up sitting uncomfortably with the napkin on your stomach for another quarter of an hour. Second example: The table was cleared when the first people had finished eating. A friend hadn't finished his meal yet, and the entire table around him was already completely empty; the other people's plates, cutlery, and glasses had already been cleared. You don't do that; it causes stress and a "please finish eating" feeling for the person still eating. Third example: I ordered a bottle of water. As soon as I had almost finished my glass, a smaller person came over and gave me another full glass without asking. This may be a matter of taste, but it really annoys me when I can't decide for myself whether I want to drink more or not. They're just small things, but they left me feeling very tense. Combined with the hefty prices, I wouldn't recommend it.

We also discovered on-site that there is a competition for guests who leave a 5-star review. This explains the strikingly positive reviews. Overall, the value for money was not right.

Incredibly fast, courteous and attentive service with very high food quality and perfectly matching cocktails

We had a reservation for two in CaGo but after waiting for 10-15 min, they proposed to us that we go to their other restaurant (May) where they had a table waiting for us. We didn't mind going to the other restaurant and were amazed by the special service we got. 1st we got prosecco on the house in CaGo and then in May they were expecting us and brought us very delicious aperitivs on the house, 10% discount on the bill and in the end brought us even desert on the house. The staff were very attentive and took great care of us. Even though there was an initial mix up, we were left feeling special and welcome. I would definitely visit both places again and gush to my friends about the great service.

We were here shortly after it opened and had a really good meal. What we were most surprised and delighted about, however, was the service! We've rarely experienced such fast, good, and attentive service. After ordering, you receive a pager-like system at your table, where you can call your waiter or request the bill. However, since the service was so attentive, I think this pager is actually useless. The food was really very good, from appetizers to desserts. The quality and price were also spot on. We'd be happy to come back!

We were here for the first time yesterday, a group of five. Great atmosphere, very fast and friendly service (yes, it's not just one person in charge here), and truly delicious food. The selection is large, and there really should be something for everyone. Prices are a bit on the high side, but definitely justified.

The food and the friendliness catapulted me straight back to Vietnam and Thailand... only the prices reminded me that I'm in Munich 😅 Super friendly and very attentive service that took good care of us at all times. Hip Vietnamese restaurant with stylish indoor and outdoor seating. The food was flavorful and beautifully plated across the board. Standouts included the clay pot dish with crispy rice, veggies, prawns, chicken, and beef - the crunchy rice paired with a rich umami sauce was a delight. The pandan sticky rice with sweet mango was a perfect finish. The pad Thai was the only real miss, as it was overly sweet. It was quite loud in the restaurant making a normal conversation without raised voice difficult. The service was friendly and efficient. Slightly pricey for Munich, but worth a try!

We were there for the first time and enjoyed lunch. It was very busy outside. Almost all the seats on both sides of the street were taken. Nevertheless, we got both our drinks and food quickly. All the dishes arrived almost at the same time for the six people. There's a good selection of homemade lemonades (see photo) and a good selection of #vegetarian and #vegan dishes. Both the #homemade #lemonade and the vegetarian food were delicious. There's a small transmitter at the table that you can use to call for service and request the bill right away (service did arrive, but I still had to mention that we wanted to pay). For six people, we paid a little over 90 euros and left after 65 minutes.

I've rarely experienced such good service. The staff are very courteous, very friendly, and everything goes super quickly, no matter how busy it is. The interior of this restaurant alone is something special! I highly recommend every Asian cuisine lover to eat there! 10/10!

We had a reservation for a weekday evening at 6 p.m. – and that was a good thing, because without a reservation, the only seating available was outside. That speaks volumes, as the restaurant is obviously very popular. The service was extremely friendly, attentive, and prompt. Drinks and food arrived quickly, and we were particularly pleased that some dishes were served with gloves – a nice sign of the high hygiene standards. Every dish tasted amazing – whether starter or main course, the quality was consistently top-notch, and our entire group was delighted. However, the price is on the high side. An all-round successful evening – we'd love to come back!

Extremely unfriendly to residents. Since this place opened, there's been noise outside the living room and bedroom windows EVERY day until late at night. But nobody cares. Zero consideration. The main thing is that the bills are right. Reply to RM May: I'd be happy to come back in person. However, I've already been to your place twice and called three times. To no avail. More than 30 people live and sleep here, and they need their weekends to be rested and ready for work on Monday.

We reserved a table on December 31st based on the great reviews, and we can honestly say we couldn't have chosen a better restaurant for that evening! Everything was so delicious! The service was friendly, the wait wasn't long, and there was a wide selection of delicious drinks, including cocktails. We ordered two appetizers, two desserts, and one dessert, which was definitely enough. The presentation was also beautiful. I highly recommend this place to everyone, as this truly was the experience you go to a restaurant for.

Honestly … i am struggling here .. Food was good, but way overpriced. I know good ingredients costs, however a 0,4l saftschorle for 5,90, wanton for 9 euro, or the dessert Mango sticky rice for 14,90eur. Dessert was disappointing because this was not a Flugmango, these taste completely different. So, I am wondering how did this place has over 2k rating with a score of 4,9 ?
