It was sooo delicious! Intense flavor, fresh ingredients, and absolutely tender meat. The cocktails were also delicious, and the service was attentive. What more could you want?!

Everything was perfect. The service was fast, polite, and courteous. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed, even though it was loud.

The food, quality, and service were overall mediocre. Based on the reviews and the prices, we had correspondingly higher expectations – unfortunately, these were not met. We also discovered on-site that there is a competition for guests who leave a 5-star review. This explains the strikingly positive reviews. Overall, the value for money was not right.

We had a reservation for two in CaGo but after waiting for 10-15 min, they proposed to us that we go to their other restaurant (May) where they had a table waiting for us. We didn't mind going to the other restaurant and were amazed by the special service we got. 1st we got prosecco on the house in CaGo and then in May they were expecting us and brought us very delicious aperitivs on the house, 10% discount on the bill and in the end brought us even desert on the house. The staff were very attentive and took great care of us. Even though there was an initial mix up, we were left feeling special and welcome. I would definitely visit both places again and gush to my friends about the great service.

From start to finish, everything was delicious, clean, and perfectly executed. It’s rare to find a place that combines excellent food, a charming ambiance, and top-notch service so flawlessly. May Restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Munich, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you are in the city, this is an absolute must-visit!

We were here shortly after it opened and had a really good meal. What we were most surprised and delighted about, however, was the service! We've rarely experienced such fast, good, and attentive service. After ordering, you receive a pager-like system at your table, where you can call your waiter or request the bill. However, since the service was so attentive, I think this pager is actually useless. The food was really very good, from appetizers to desserts. The quality and price were also spot on. We'd be happy to come back!

The selection is large, and there really should be something for everyone. Prices are a bit on the high side, but definitely justified.

Hip Vietnamese restaurant with stylish indoor and outdoor seating. The food was flavorful and beautifully plated across the board. Standouts included the clay pot dish with crispy rice, veggies, prawns, chicken, and beef - the crunchy rice paired with a rich umami sauce was a delight. The pandan sticky rice with sweet mango was a perfect finish. The pad Thai was the only real miss, as it was overly sweet. It was quite loud in the restaurant making a normal conversation without raised voice difficult. The service was friendly and efficient. Slightly pricey for Munich, but worth a try!

We had a reservation for a weekday evening at 6 p.m. – and that was a good thing, because without a reservation, the only seating available was outside. That speaks volumes, as the restaurant is obviously very popular. The service was extremely friendly, attentive, and prompt. Drinks and food arrived quickly, and we were particularly pleased that some dishes were served with gloves – a nice sign of the high hygiene standards. Every dish tasted amazing – whether starter or main course, the quality was consistently top-notch, and our entire group was delighted. However, the price is on the high side. An all-round successful evening – we'd love to come back!

We were there for the first time and enjoyed lunch. It was very busy outside. Almost all the seats on both sides of the street were taken. Nevertheless, we got both our drinks and food quickly. All the dishes arrived almost at the same time for the six people. There's a good selection of homemade lemonades (see photo) and a good selection of #vegetarian and #vegan dishes. Both the #homemade #lemonade and the vegetarian food were delicious. There's a small transmitter at the table that you can use to call for service and request the bill right away (service did arrive, but I still had to mention that we wanted to pay). For six people, we paid a little over 90 euros and left after 65 minutes.

Great food, attentive staff, everything was great

We reserved a table on December 31st based on the great reviews, and we can honestly say we couldn't have chosen a better restaurant for that evening! Everything was so delicious! The service was friendly, the wait wasn't long, and there was a wide selection of delicious drinks, including cocktails. We ordered two appetizers, two desserts, and one dessert, which was definitely enough. The presentation was also beautiful. I highly recommend this place to everyone, as this truly was the experience you go to a restaurant for.

Extremely unfriendly to residents. Since this place opened, there's been noise outside the living room and bedroom windows EVERY day until late at night. But nobody cares. Zero consideration. The main thing is that the bills are right. Reply to RM May: I'd be happy to come back in person. However, I've already been to your place twice and called three times. To no avail. More than 30 people live and sleep here, and they need their weekends to be rested and ready for work on Monday.

Honestly … i am struggling here .. Food was good, but way overpriced. I know good ingredients costs, however a 0,4l saftschorle for 5,90, wanton for 9 euro, or the dessert Mango sticky rice for 14,90eur. Dessert was disappointing because this was not a Flugmango, these taste completely different. So, I am wondering how did this place has over 2k rating with a score of 4,9 ?

We were at Restaurant May yesterday and had a reservation for two people. Due to a large event, the table was occupied for quite some time. However, we were kept entertained with drinks and snacks on the house. The food, the service, and the restaurant are all great! We really enjoyed ourselves. See you next time :)

The restaurant impresses with its wonderfully well-thought-out interior – modern, yet with warm Asian accents that immediately invite you to linger. The menu is as lovingly designed as the dishes themselves: fresh, subtly seasoned, and extremely tastefully presented. Whether pho, summer rolls, or creative main courses – the food here is cooked with care and quality. The outdoor ambiance is particularly noteworthy: in nice weather, it's a wonderful place to relax, and even there, the culinary standards remain absolutely impressive. The staff is attentive, friendly, and manages to exude calm and hospitality even when the crowds are large – a real plus. The prices are on the high side, but this is understandable given the quality offered. Anyone who appreciates sophisticated Vietnamese cuisine will find the value for money absolutely fair. The only minor drawback: Parking in the area is rather difficult—as is often the case in Schwanthalerhöhe. Those arriving by car should allow some time to search for a parking space or opt for public transportation.

Update 10/4/2025: I once again had the pleasure of visiting the May Restaurant in Munich – and it was once again an absolute highlight! I had reserved a table for 8:15 p.m. The restaurant was very busy that evening, so we initially sat at a table for two near the entrance. But as soon as another table became available, the friendly waiter immediately offered us a cozy spot in a quiet corner – a very thoughtful gesture that my companion and I were very pleased about. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco, followed by a delicious tapas starter. The main course – a juicy steak – was perfectly prepared and simply delicious. We were also delighted by the non-alcoholic mango and coconut creation. As a sweet finale, we enjoyed a beautifully presented mango panna cotta, courtesy of the house – another thoughtful touch to this wonderful evening. This was my second visit to May – and definitely not the last when I'm in Munich. Unfortunately, I don't live in the city, otherwise I would definitely be here more often. Many thanks to the entire May team for this wonderful experience! I highly recommend the restaurant! From December 26, 2023: The food at Restaurant May truly deserves top marks. The variety and freshness of the ingredients make the dishes particularly delicious. The refined preparation and attractive presentation reflect the high culinary quality. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday evening. When we arrived, we had to wait a bit for our table, but that wasn't a problem. The waiter quickly came with the menu, took our drinks, and then things moved on quickly. The staff were very friendly and the starters and main courses were very good. The portions were rather large rather than manageable. Perhaps the only disappointment of the evening was the mango sticky rice; it was very tasteless. Neither the mango nor the strawberries tasted good. I would go back for anything else.
