MAUI im Ludwigpalais in München

Food was good, but nothing special. It was way too cold for Hawaii. Despite the reservation, we got the table in the aisle where the chefs and guests went outside to smoke. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Nice place. Unfortunately, both operations were poorly understood. Tofu was completely off, makes vegetarian heavy when there's nothing else in the category. Unfortunately there is no discount because of that. If you want to order a soda, a main ingredient is also missing. Had no luck with my orders that day. Food was still delicious. Got some more vegetables from the vegetarian dish I wanted the least. Well, okay. Hawaiian beer was not on the (lunch) menu. So you have to know that it exists. Too bad. I'd love to come back nonetheless. It was comfortable there.

A bit cold in the restaurant. At the beginning we had the last table, by the back door, someone was constantly leaving, which wasn't very pleasant. We then had to move to another table, which worked out without any problems.

Very tasty dishes that also seem very authentic to Hawaii. Freshly prepared, good taste. Large selection. Unfortunately I had to deduct two stars because the prices are disproportionately high for the size of the options. Simply exorbitant prices, even for the drinks. You can eat Poke Bowl for the same quality elsewhere for at least 25% cheaper. Therefore I would not recommend it and would not come back. If the money isn't important at all, then at least it's worth a visit.

Sauces are more like soups. Not particularly tasty either.

A restaurant that is completely out of the ordinary. What a lovely surprise. A beautiful facility. The nicest service (thanks Mai ❤️ and Min ❤️) that you can only imagine. We followed our waiter's good recommendations, ordered all over the large menu and were really not disappointed. A wonderful kitchen, everything prepared very lovingly and the taste is simply exquisite. We will always come back. Absolutely, absolutely sure. 🥰

Very good restaurant, the dishes are varied, the flavors worked. The room lacks a little charm but nothing repulsive.

Service and ambience was great however the food was a hit and a miss. Starters and Cocktails were delicious however the lemongrass chicken dish was a let down. It was supposed to be spicy but was rather sweet instead, I had to request extra chilies. Not sure if I would visit again.

Can't quite understand the good reviews. Comparable restaurants cook much better. Lacks flavor and the sauces were watery. One starter came cold. This was warmed up upon request, but it's still not nice. The service was tried but not good either. The ambience is okay but not particularly great for a restaurant in this category. Overall just not recommended.

Highly recommended. We've been there twice now for lunch. The food tastes excellent. The service is quick and friendly. Absolutely ok in terms of price for Munich. Very nice courtyard, really great in summer because it's not too hot.

A really decent lunch place , the service was so attentive I couldn't believe we are in Germany :D Otherwise the lunch combos are good, quick and there is enough choice for everyone. With a drink you are close / above 20 euros which is a little over the usual lunch price hence some space to make the food even more special for the value they are charging. Overall a pleasant experience, very nice interior - will go again!

We became aware of the restaurant through the Taste Twelve voucher book. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was attractively prepared as can be seen in the photos. Excellent in taste. Prices are in the upper range, you should be aware of that. We'd love to come back. The only tip: a restaurant in this price range should accept AmEx.

Exceptional service and the best thing I've eaten in a long time

Great restaurant, very good cuisine. We had lunch, outside in the courtyard, quiet. Great lunch options such as a three-course menu for around 16 euros. Dumplings with peanut sauce are a hit!

Super nice restaurant with very tasty dishes! We sat outside in the cozy courtyard, but the inside area was also really nicely decorated. The menu is diverse. We had different bowls, all of which were aesthetically presented - I thought the bowl with shrimp was really tasty. The cocktails are also recommended. We had to wait a little longer for our drinks and food, but that wasn't so bad in the end. The service was very friendly. The prices are quite high, typical of Munich. But it's worth it. Clear recommendation!

The food was ok, but somehow more Vietnamese/Asian than Hawaiian. I was hoping for different directions. The courtyard is very beautiful.

First time trying Hawaiian cuisine; food looked much better than it tasted. Pineapple beef was bland. Bao bun was good but pork filling was not tasty. Beer was cold but quite flat. Staff was pleasant and place looks great.

I had a Poke bowl from wonderfully fresh ingredients but a much too spicy and intense sauce I did not like at all. The service is very friendly but slow, we had to wait about 20 minutes for our drinks that were not the right ones in the end. The atmosphere is really beautiful though. I might give them another chance…maybe they had just a bad day:-)

Atmosphere and ambience is really nice. Backyard is cool for summer. Waiter to friendly and for me is a bit annoying ( little to much“in my opinion“). The name and the concept little confuse me cause actually they serve mostly asian food ( Vietnamesse ). Waiter have said that Tuna salat was fresh that is why took us an Hour of waiting, when we took a bite it still frozen 😅. I think they defrost the tuna at first thats why we need to wait an hour. Sauce of Tuna salat was really good and the main dish was ok ( nothing special ). Price is to expensive ( maybe because of the location and the rent is high ). Not worth of money. Many good asian Restaurant near by and test better.

Very nice restaurant in the Ludwigpalais! I was there for lunch and had a very good meal. Service excellent and very friendly. A great address in the city center and absolutely recommended.

Hawaiian, we didn't really know what to expect - but we were absolutely thrilled! In addition to the great detailed ambience, the friendly and courteous service is immediately noticeable. The tables are a bit close together, but thanks to nice neighbors, that was okay. The food, however, was the highlight: a mix of South Asian cuisine and BBQ dishes, all of which had that certain something. Fruity, spicy and the different consistencies harmonized wonderfully. Overall a great experience, highly recommended. Price-performance ratio is probably normal for Munich standards, but you do get something for it.

Wonderful stay when the weather is nice on the terrace away from the big streets and not noticing them. The food delicious. I think the waitress swallowed a clown. In my opinion, this address was a bit over-the-top and over-chummy. I know, it's a balancing act and of course also a matter of taste... All in all, good to very good. The ambience is only recommended. Price-performance ratio also fits.

Der Service war super. Leider war es sehr kalt im Restaurant, dadurch das Vordertür und Hintertür offen waren zog es die ganze Zeit. Das essen ist Standard und nichts besonders - eher sehr vietnamesisch als hawaiianisch. In meinem teueren Gericht sollte Spargel sein… war er auch aber nur die enden die total faserig und nicht essbar waren. Sehr ärgerlich. Alles in allem durchschnittlich

It really makes a difference to be greeted so warmly and then to eat a good, juicy salmon :) the restaurant is very nicely decorated, you feel like you're on vacation, perfect.

Cocktails were tasty and were beautifully arranged. Starters (mixed dumplings, salmon salad) were delicious, main courses (duck, king's prawns) were good too and also were nicely arranged on the plates. Items listed as "spicy" were not very spicy - good for my wife, who could easily eat her spicy sauce, not so good for me, as I would have preferred more kick in my hot sauce for the prawns. The service staff was very friendly, good-humoured and professional, we felt well treated. Overall, we enjoyed both our stay and the food and drinks - the pricing may be a tad high but this is to be expected in the city centre. If you want to try Hawaiian food, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Here are a few key points about our visit: Very noisy due to traffic with the door open. Chipped dishes - not a nice appreciation for the guest, especially given the price structure. Bun with duck: meat difficult to bite. Difficult to eat cleanly when it comes to finger food —> pieces smaller. Rib Eye: a little vegetable side dish. Sauces great. Dessert: Panna Cotta was good. The rest of the card is nothing special. Let's come back, probably not. Service very friendly and attentive.

We got a table at short notice at 8 p.m. Starters: Miso soup and beef fillet tataki (very tasty!) with truffles Main courses: duck (good quality meat) in curry sauce and fried salmon with asparagus We can recommend all the dishes and will definitely come back. The service was first class, reserved and yet very attentive and friendly. You will certainly have success with the 2nd Maui.

A visit to Maui is always worth it. From the drinks, starters to the delicious main courses, it's a dream. The salmon bowl is to die for!

We ate a lunch menu as follows: spring rolls "ran out", after about 10 minutes they were served, pale and doughy. Duck with a thick layer of fat beneath the lightly fried skin; brrrrr. Salad leaves sprinkled with salt so that it was too salty and not edible. Severe diarrhea that only ended around midnight.

Very nice restaurant, great ambience! Delicious cocktails. I haven't eaten a vegetable curry as good as there for a long time. It really was so incredibly tasty, just wow! The price is a bit higher, but the location is almost clear. We had a great evening! THANKS!

The MAUI captivated us. Absolute recommendation. We had reserved a table for Valentine's Day. Our table sits between other tables that are quite close together. Drinks could be ordered directly and the friendly and attentive service was available to answer any questions. The atmosphere was very pleasant despite the tables being close together. We also found the MAUI to be very stylish visually. The card left nothing to be desired. Great selection of options. Our food came quickly. We started with beef skewers that we could cook ourselves on a small table grill. The main course is followed by BBQ pork with pineapple and followed by the bao buns. In between, a Mai Tai that was perfectly mixed for me and had a lot of bang. The portions were appropriately large and there was still the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Everything was on point. Varied in taste and incredibly tasty. The price was absolutely appropriate for the all-round package. Small deduction, the smell from the kitchen was sometimes very strong and we noticed that the service fluctuated at full capacity. Other guests then waited a little longer. The overall impression remains unaffected. A culinary experience that you would like to experience again. See you soon!

I'm always sorry when I can give so few stars, BUT... we had dinner with 7 people on February 14th. One couple had a Taste twelve voucher book with them. Our waiter was informed about this at the beginning. After a bit of pushing around, he said that this was possible for us today as an exception, even though according to the book they don't have to accept this on public holidays (Valentine's Day = public holiday??) at the end of the evening this decision was reversed by the boss without further comment. :( I can't say anything against the quality of the food. Everything was very tasty. However, we had to wait a really long time for it. And to charge 60 euros for a starter platter for two people is almost outrageous, even for Munich. Also the water for 8, Unfortunately, 50 euros and 3 scoops of ice cream for 10 euros are not justified. We all love going out to eat and have tried a lot in Munich. But we have never had everyone leave a restaurant feeling annoyed and sad.

Unfortunately the price/performance wasn't right at all. We specially ordered the 'Hawaiian' dishes and were really disappointed. The salmon bowl and the ramen were average, we've eaten them like that (and better) a thousand times for a fraction of the price. A pity...

Unfortunately it was mediocre at best, the price-performance ratio just wasn't right. The food, although good, was quite expensive and the service wanted more than it could manage. We waited a long time for the food and the portions were relatively small. We also sat for a long time in front of the empty plates and they weren't cleared away for ages. The glasses and the bottle of the aperitif were not put away the whole evening. Unfortunately we are simply disappointed 😵‍💫 We were also told at the beginning that our voucher was valid. In the end the boss came and made it clear to us very clearly and not particularly politely that this wasn't possible because it was Valentine's Day. There would have been a discounted Valentine's Day menu, but we only found out about it when we were paying and complaining. We ordered from the normal menu, then you can also accept the voucher, I could understand that with the menu. Also, all 3 bottles of white wine were overcharged at €10 each and we had to cancel it. After a long time back and forth we got cash for it, it took forever! Our waiter was very nice, but totally overwhelmed, even though the place was never full. The boss should speak more quietly if she knows what her employees are saying; they heard everything that didn't contribute to our good mood. We certainly won't be going there again!

We were there as a company party with 15 people. The service was very friendly and constantly checked on us. Some people write that the portions are too small. Ok - the starters weren't huge, but together with the main course they were more than enough. I barely managed everything and then voluntarily gave up dessert - I couldn't fit any more. Starter mixed DimSum - all very tasty. Main course the curry with duck. Tasty and slightly spicy! I was very happy with everything. The prices are high, but you are also in the middle of Munich. Parking by car is rather difficult, but the subway is nearby and the bus is right in front of the front door.

We had a voucher for €100 from MAUI, but were informed on site that the voucher can only be redeemed at another branch, even though there is a website with no clear differentiation

Nice atmosphere. Appetizers were very enjoyable. Main courses were good, but not amazing. Because of this, we did feel the price of the overall meal was not worth it.

Unfortunately, the food only made it to 2 stars because the portions are very small for the price-performance ratio, the meat is sometimes cold and special requests are accepted and not honored. The staff is super friendly, but unfortunately the two bosses are not... to be precise, rather unfriendly. Since we have already pointed this out several times without success and nothing has changed, we will no longer eat there.
