MAUI im Ludwigpalais in München

We celebrated our Christmas party at MAUI and were absolutely thrilled. The food was excellent, the cocktails delicious, and the service impeccable. My only minor criticism was the panna cotta, which was a bit too runny. But things don't always go perfectly. I would have loved to have had some of that Beng Beng sauce (or however you spell it) packaged up for me. :-) Thank you for this wonderful evening!

My mom had her birthday today, and I surprised her with a visit to MAUI. The food was once again excellent (I've been to the one in Nymphenburg before). The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, and the staff are all incredibly friendly and attentive. I had mentioned in the reservation that I wanted a nice table since it was my mom's birthday. What I didn't know was that they had prepared a small dessert with a candle. I hadn't ordered that. My mom was thrilled. And so was I! 😀 Thank you again for the wonderful experience, dear MAUI team! 🫶🏼

Loco Moco Beef Filet… you're looking for the beef! Lots and lots of rice – very little beef! It tasted great, but for €25.50 we expected something different. We waited a long time; okay, there were a lot of large tables, we understand that. However, our table was in the aisle and we didn't feel comfortable. Nevertheless, we'll come back because the quality of the food is okay.

A cozy atmosphere, slightly chic but not over the top. The menu was incredibly diverse, and everything was very flavorful and delicious. Exactly my taste, with a good selection of vegan dishes. We came here relatively spontaneously with friends. We all enjoyed it immensely. Everyone was very friendly. A perfect evening all around. The dessert was a liquid tiramisu variation that surprised me. How exciting! And no, I didn't gulp it down. 😃

We had a reservation for six on a Saturday evening. When we arrived on time, our table had been given to another group who had "accidentally reserved the wrong table." Why didn't we get our table then? We were given a makeshift table next to the cold door. We then had to wait another 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The dishes weren't served at the same time. The food tasted okay, but it wasn't anything special. The staff was friendly, but as I said, not the fastest. The prices were also too high for what you get; you're definitely paying a premium for the central location. I won't be going back here, but maybe I'll try MAUI at Rotkreuzplatz next time.

Very pleasant experience, we arrived at 8 p.m. without a reservation and they found us a table right away. The food is good, we had the pineapple beef and the cocktails were excellent.

Very nice ambiance and atmosphere. Even the restroom has style. The staff is very friendly, personable, and humorous. I don't know what the "Loco Moco" tastes like in Hawaii, but it was very, very delicious at the "Maui" restaurant. My colleagues are enthusiastic about the "Huli Huli Chicken." Also recommended: black sesame ice cream, yuzu, and vanilla. That one in the cute glasses is "Panna Cotta." I'd love to go back!

I went to the Maui Restaurant with my colleagues this evening, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was outstanding – especially the lemongrass tofu, the lomi lomi salmon salad, and the tuna tartare were incredibly delicious and fresh. An absolute highlight was the raspberry and lychee-flavored Maitai Surf – simply amazing! 🍹 The service was super friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. We felt completely at home and will definitely be back.

(a drink order was forgotten, an appetizer was incorrectly billed and therefore delivered incorrectly (it was still good)) I will definitely go again, not least to see if my experience was just due to one less than perfect day or is a general problem.

Worst restaurant management i've seen for a while. 2 hours and a half in there for some small dinner. Took them 30 minutes to bring the drinks, 45 to bring the 2 ridiculously small starters and 1.40 hours to bring one main course. After that they didn't even have the decency to put the drinks on the house or apologise properly, to us or to any of the many other tables who had the same problem and were as angry as us. Total check was 80€ for 2 people. Outrageously expensive for the horrible service and bad food. One star because it's the minimum to leave a review.

Vibrant fusion of Hawaiian and Southeast Asian cuisine both in island - inspired colorful interiors and menu positions — my Lucky Shrimp Salad had not only gigantic shrimps and edamame, but also pineapple (which was less expected, but I loved this tropical flair). As the name suggests, "Haw-Asian Food," Hawaiian and Asian cuisine are cleverly combined. The food is delicious, and the service was absolutely top-notch. The price of the starter platter is a bit overwhelming, and the bill quickly climbs, but everything tasted excellent. The cocktails were also very tasty and well-balanced. The ambiance is cozy and, despite its size, doesn't feel crowded. The restaurant also has a lovely outdoor area in the courtyard. The decor has been thoughtfully designed, and it's very clean. I'm a frequent guest at Mauii in Munich's Ludwigspalais. The food is consistently good, fresh, finely seasoned, and very digestible (which is also important for older women like me). Recently, with a friend, everything was perfect again. The lunch menu, in particular, is unbeatable in terms of value for money. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere pleasantly relaxed. When it's warm, the best place to sit outside, at the back of the restaurant. Reservations are recommended, as the restaurant is usually very busy outside of the holiday season.

A very nicely decorated restaurant with excellent service, good food, and delicious drinks. Everything is beautifully presented. The price/performance/location ratio is also very fair. The only (small) downside: The menu is a bit wildly designed and, unfortunately, a bit confusing in places. There are only four dishes listed in the vegetarian/vegan category, although there are several others scattered throughout the menu, which I didn't see until later.

You can usually find a spot nearby, although it's rarely free. The restaurant itself is very inviting, with lovely and eye-catching decor, both inside and outside in the courtyard, where there are comfortable seating options. The atmosphere was pleasant and thoughtful. We tried a variety of different dishes, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The dessert – especially the mochi, even though it's not homemade – was also really good. We also found the cloth napkins to be of very high quality and worth mentioning. The service was friendly and attentive, but we found the glasses and wine cups to be a bit dusty – a better solution would be desirable. The restroom area is also nicely designed, but should be checked regularly. The restaurant wasn't very busy during our visit, so they could have taken better care of these details. The value for money is absolutely spot on, especially considering the central location in Munich. Overall, a very successful visit – with some minor room for improvement. We give it 4.2 stars and would be happy to return!

We came here to have lunch and it was perfect! The food was so delicious and with so much flavor! I got the lemongrass chicken and I’d come back day after day for it! Atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing yet charming and the staff are so nice!!

We came here for lunch today and found an unexpectedly delightful restaurant! I ordered one of the bento boxes and every bite from the miso soup, salmon maki, to the poke bento was excellent. My wife got the lemon grass chicken and it was so flavorful. All the vegetables mixed together with the sauce was the perfect mixture. We ended the meal with their panacota desert which was more of a yogurt consistency, buy still exceptional and creamy! Would love to come back.

A Hawaiian restaurant in a central location. This gives it that typical Munich semi-upscale feel, which some consider stylish, others snobby. For us, it was in between. The food is good, but not spectacular... We found it a bit odd when, after our second non-alcoholic wheat beer, the waiter asked us why we weren't drinking alcohol.

The food prices are reasonable, but the drinks are a bit on the low side. A selection from Maui would be great, and yes, there is beer in Hawaii that doesn't have to fear comparison with the local offerings.

Reservations are definitely recommended, as the MAUI is popular and well-attended – and rightly so. A true culinary highlight in Munich – we would love to return!
