Low-quality ingredients, very expensive for a collection of bland dishes. I'm still looking for the spice in the Calabrian pizza. Mediocre service, a shame for the young blonde woman who did everything she could to be helpful, even speaking a little English to make herself understood. Other staff members were very cold and unfriendly. Nice decor.

I visited Mattini’s in Metzingen and was truly impressed. The restaurant is modern, clean, and very cozy – perfect for both a relaxed lunch and a lovely evening out. The pizza is excellent, with a light crust and fresh ingredients, and the pasta dishes are also delicious and generously portioned. The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient – ​​which makes the visit even more enjoyable. The drinks are also top-notch: expertly mixed cocktails and a great atmosphere. I can wholeheartedly recommend Mattini’s to anyone in Metzingen looking for a good meal and a comfortable dining experience. I will definitely be back!

Very tasty pizza 🍕 Reservations required. We came as a couple on a Wednesday and there were no seats available, so we sat outside. The prices are a bit on the high side, but to be expected given the location.

mattini's BAR • RISTORANTE is no kidding, they offer probably the best Italian steak in town !!! If you do order their Ribeye, make sure you spend another 5 euro to request for Tagliata, in this way your ribeye will be served with full of Arugula and Parmesan cheese, OMG, steak can never taste this good !!! Also recommend their Seafood pasta, the seafood all fresh, and the sauce perfectly mix the pasta and seafood into one. Having said these, the ambience here is splendid while relaxing, will definitely come again!!!

Basic Italian restaurant- good pizza, pasta bolognese good. Unfortunately my spaghetti carbonara was almost uneatable - very salty without any flavor. Tried to fix it with adding pasta -didn’t work. After a shopping trip, we were looking for a relaxing coffee at the outlet. We ordered a Dopio on ice and an iced cappuccino and asked the extremely unengaged waitress for two glasses of tap water... What did we get? The two coffees and NO water... The price... HORROR... €13.80 for the two drinks... could it be any more outrageous?

After a long time, we went to Mattinis with the family for dinner again. Although the prices have increased compared to last time, the quality is still good. We especially have to mention the service provided by our waiter, Damian – super friendly from start to finish, prompt service, and a few jokes with the kids every now and then. Keep up the good work.

I had a raspberry spritzer with lime, mint, and fresh raspberries. You can skip the plural, since it was only half a thin lime wedge and... 1 raspberry! €6.90 for that is a bit of a game... at least the syrup tasted good.

Our visit to Martini's in Metzingen turned out to be a culinary and service-wise disappointment. From the moment we arrived, an atmosphere of being overwhelmed pervaded the entire experience. Upon arrival, we witnessed a visibly stressed head waiter who seemed overwhelmed by the sheer number of guests outside. His unprofessional demeanor was evident: a formal greeting, a lack of a smile, and a generally surly demeanor that didn't improve over the course of the afternoon. Although we requested a table inside, we were denied. When our assigned outdoor seating was given to other guests shortly thereafter, we were forced to find our own seats in the larger, busier area of the restaurant. From there, we continued to observe the head waiter's unprofessional behavior, as he herded guests around in a manner not expected from professional service staff. A smile or even a hint of friendliness was in short supply. The dining experience matched the disappointing quality of service. The food was "okay" at best. The salad served was completely unseasoned and required some initiative to impart any flavor. The vinegars and oils provided, which were supposed to remedy this, were of questionable quality; the oil even tasted rancid. A circumstance that is unacceptable in a restaurant that sets culinary standards. In summary, Martinis failed to impress with either its service or its cuisine. The lack of professionalism of the staff and the disappointing quality of the food lastingly tarnish the visit and leave the impression that fundamental improvements are urgently needed in both the service and the cuisine.

The pizza was delicious, with a light and airy crust and delicious tomato sauce. Unfortunately, the artichokes weren't any better. Prices are generally expensive, especially the drinks. Service was lackluster and unfriendly.

We ordered Gnocchi Crema Gorgonzola. The food was truly delicious, freshly prepared, and of a high standard. Grated walnuts on top rounded off this dish. It was somewhat disappointing that we had to ask for bread and Parmesan cheese separately. Both were brought, but not particularly friendly, almost reluctantly. In an Italian restaurant of this price range, bread and Parmesan should really be a given. A little more cordiality in the service would have perfectly complemented the overall excellent meal. We would gladly return and hope that on our next visit, not only the food but also the service will impress.

A true highlight in Metzingen! We visited Mattinis for the first time and were absolutely thrilled. The ambiance is modern, yet cozy; you immediately feel at home. The service was attentive, warm, and professional, without being intrusive. The food? Simply outstanding! Every course was prepared with attention to detail and tasted amazing. The [e.g., beef fillet / homemade pasta / cheese platter / dessert] was especially delicious. The wine selection also leaves nothing to be desired. An all-round successful evening; we'll definitely be back and can highly recommend Mattinis!

Unfortunately, I am very dissatisfied. The service was extremely poor—inattentive and rude. The cheese plate was particularly shocking: some of the cheeses were clearly spoiled and covered in mold. When we raised this issue, the staff offered no apology whatsoever. This is absolutely unacceptable, especially in a restaurant of this price range. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place at all.

Wir wurden hier schon zu zweiten mal weggeschickt mit der Begründung, dass es gebe keinen freien Tische mehr, obwohl es sowohl drinnen als draußen welche gab. An der kKeller, der am Samstag den 19.07. 25 gegen 19uhr an der Tür stand, bei nächsten Mal seien Sie bitte so ehrlich und sagen Sie uns, dass wir als interraciales Paar( schwarz/ weiß) nicht zu ihrer Klientel passen. Es wäre erhlich als zu behauptet es käme in 15min eine große Gruppe . Wir saßen nämlich mehr als einen Stunde in dem Restaurant gegenüber. Es kam keine Gruppe und die Menschen, die unmittelbar nach uns da waren bekamen einen Tisch. Ich hasse es Sachen auf Rassismus oder Diskrinierung zu schieben aber es bleibt mir nach dem zweiten Mal nicht übrig als so zu denken.

The prices are completely normal for these times; others are responsible for this price increase... Service is excellent; everyone is very friendly and attentive, even if they're often under pressure. The clientele consists of a good mix of locals and outlet visitors, which makes the visit more pleasant than sitting in a completely touristy area. The ambiance and location are, of course, the icing on the cake. I'd be happy to go back anytime!

Unser Besuch in diesem Restaurant war leider durchweg negativ. Schon beim Getränkeservice gab es Probleme: Das bestellte Bier wurde nicht wie gewünscht in der Flasche mit separatem Glas serviert, sondern direkt ins Glas eingeschenkt. Auf unsere höfliche Nachfrage hin wurde uns gesagt, man könne es nicht zurücknehmen, da es sonst weggeschüttet werden müsse – kundenfreundlich ist das nicht. Der Tiefpunkt kam mit dem Essen: Im Salat befand sich eine tote Fliege, die offenbar schon länger dort lag (ihr fehlten z. B. die Flügel). Der Salat selbst war zudem nicht frisch. Als wir das anmerkten, warf uns der Besitzer vor, wir würden „negative Energie“ mitbringen, anstatt sich zu entschuldigen. Die Fliege wurde dann tatsächlich mit den hohen Temperaturen von über 30 Grad gerechtfertigt – aus unserer Sicht völlig unprofessionell und inakzeptabel. Nachdem wir beschlossen hatten, das Essen nicht mehr zu konsumieren und nur die Getränke zu bezahlen, um woanders zu essen, wollten wir eine noch ungeöffnete Wasserflasche zurückgeben. Auch das führte zu einer überzogenen und unangemessenen Reaktion des Besitzers. Es wirkt so, als würde dieses Restaurant nur deshalb noch laufen, weil es sich in zentraler Lage in der Stadt befindet. Ohne diesen Standortvorteil würden Qualität und Service kaum jemanden überzeugen. Insgesamt war der Besuch eine Zumutung – weder Service, noch Qualität der Speisen, noch der Umgang mit Gästen entsprechen auch nur ansatzweise dem, was man von einem professionellen Gastronomiebetrieb erwarten darf. Wir kommen definitiv nicht wieder.

Stay away! Contaminated dishes– disappointing and unpleasant experience Our visit to this restaurant was unfortunately a thoroughly negative experience. Problems started with the drinks: the beer we ordered was not served in the bottle with a separate glass as requested, but was instead poured directly into a glass. When we politely asked about it, we were told they couldn’t take it back because it would have to be thrown away – not exactly a customer-friendly response. The low point came with the food: the salad contained a dead fly, which appeared to have been there for a while (it was missing its wings). The salad itself was also not fresh. When we pointed this out, the owner accused us of bringing in “negative energy” instead of offering an apology. The presence of the fly was justified by the fact that it was over 30 degrees Celsius – which we found completely ridiculous unacceptable and unprofessional. After deciding not to eat the food and just pay for the drinks so we could leave and dine elsewhere, we tried to return an unopened bottle of water. This, too, caused a loud reaction from the owner, who again behaved inappropriately and unreasonably. Overall, the visit was an ordeal – neither the service, the food quality, nor the way guests are treated comes even close to what one would expect from a professional dining establishment. We will definitely not be returning.

We've been to Mattini's several times now and have been impressed each time by the ambitious concept, which combines Italian lifestyle with a modern ambiance. The restaurant is centrally located in Metzingen and appears understated from the outside – but a very special charm unfolds inside: elegant half-timbered construction, lovingly designed rooms like the vaulted cellar or the fireplace room, and in summer, a truly beautiful outdoor area. The menu is classic Italian with antipasti, fresh pasta, Neapolitan-style pizza, and delicious desserts like tiramisu or Nutella pizza. Everything I've tried so far has been delicious – especially the burrata with Parma ham, the homemade gnocchi, and the pizza are highly recommended. The service is very friendly and attentive. We were always treated very kindly, and the chef even personally visited to check on the guests' well-being. What I particularly like: The atmosphere is stylish but not stuffy – ideal for a special evening with friends or a relaxed date. For larger groups, there are separate areas such as the gallery or the historic cellar, making this a great venue for celebrations. Conclusion: A highly recommended restaurant, run with great attention to detail. Anyone who wants authentic Italian food and has a bit of time to spare will definitely not be disappointed at Mattini's. We'd love to come back!

We often go to Mattini's. However, this was my first time eating pizza there. It was the best pizza I've had in a long time (tonno cipolla). It's worth the money! The service is also prompt. You don't sit with empty glasses without being asked if you want anything else. Highly recommended.

We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday at Mattinis. We were very, very pleased. We have nothing to complain about. The food was delicious. The staff was always friendly and attentive. The ambiance was very nice. It was a successful evening.

The restaurant is located in downtown Metzingen. You have the option to sit inside or outside. The atmosphere is very cozy and nice. We ordered the Berg “saison beer” in 0.5 l – it was very tasty and really recommended. We ordered a bruschetta and three pizzas: Funghi (vegetarian), Margherita (vegetarian; you can also order it with a burrata), Quattro Formaggi and a Prosciutto Cotto. I also have to say that all pizzas are prepared Neapolitan style. The pizzas were all very tasty, but unfortunately the Funghi pizza was a bit watery. The service was really perfect. We will definitely visit the restaurant again when we are in Metzingen again.

Actually a nice restaurant, but the service leaves something to be desired. Once the seat cushions are collected under your buttocks because it started to drizzle slightly, the next time you visit you order a fresh glass of Prosecco because a wasp landed in it, which you get, but with the words "normally it would be charged because the glass had already been on the table for two minutes! But as a gesture of goodwill they wouldn't charge it! Hospitality?! Service?! - No! On the third visit, when clearing away, the cutlery ends up on your lap with the words; You can give me your pants, I'll take them to the dry cleaners! That’s it Mattini’s! Continue to exploit your monopoly position in Metzingen at the expense of the guest! There are always new guests sharing their experiences!

If you want to have the Neapolitan pizza experience outside of Napoli, whether for the first time or as a repeat customer, this is the right place! It tastes like Napoli. Big compliments to the kitchen for this authentic experience. Gladly again! :)

A rustic, cozy Italian restaurant with damn tasty pizza and pasta. I had a pizza that tasted great. Crispy edge, for me personally the dough was a bit too thin in the middle. (But this is a matter of personal opinion! and should not be viewed negatively). My two visitors had 2 pasta dishes and both were very satisfied. The first impression of both was, oh, a very clear portion, which turned out to be exactly right. There was no “eating coma” feeling or an over-saturation feeling. Prices seem to be a bit higher, but justified for the quality. The ambience is upscale and exudes cosiness. We'd love to come back.

Went there spontaneously on Friday evening. It was already full. They still gave us a good opportunity to eat there. Nice atmosphere, very nice staff. Pizza was great. Thin on the inside, thick but fluffy on the outside. Great dough. The gnocchi and pesto were also excellent. The quality, the ambience and the service justify the high prices. We'll be back.

We were at Mattinis with colleagues on December 30, 2024 and were looking forward to a relaxing evening with a simple salad with salmon. Much to our surprise, we were told that there was no meat or fish as the restaurant had to prepare for the New Year's Eve celebration the next day. I find it extremely incomprehensible why a restaurant would offer dishes on the menu that are then not available. With no other choice, we ended up ordering pizza. The service seemed stressed and not very attentive, which didn't make our evening any more pleasant. When we asked about the last round around 10 p.m., we wanted to order a chocolate cake, but here too we were unlucky: the microwave was broken. When I ironically asked whether the refrigerator was also defective, I didn't get a satisfactory answer. We finally ordered a tiramisu, but the waitress was clearly trying to clear everything away quickly, which gave the impression that we weren't really welcome. Overall, our visit to Mattinis was far from the expectations we had. We won't be coming back.

The restaurant, which spans two floors, offers a wonderful dining experience. We had an excellent time with the children. It is highly recommended to make a reservation for dinner, as it tends to be fully booked. The waitstaff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring a memorable visit.

We came to this ristorante spontaneously last night. It was very busy, so from the outside we thought it was better than the Ristorante opposite. However, we were disappointed with the dishes. Both my wife's pasta was boring and not aldente, and my tuna/onion pizza "with caramelized onions" was rather bland. It was also soggy, doughy and not crispy. It's a shame, because otherwise everything would have been fine, but the dish is why you go out to eat. Never again!

We wanted to take a quick coffee break after our shopping. We were offered the table that was just to the left of the entrance until 6:30 p.m. It was terribly loud and that was from the staff. There were 5 to 6 at the bar and in front of the bar Employees who had some kind of stress with the preparations but we don't have to go along with everything. We drank quickly and left straight away. For us, there won't be a cafe again where we can enjoy a cafe in peace 😡

We spontaneously called the restaurant and made a reservation, which was promised to be flexible. When we arrived it was very busy but the waitress was extremely nice and approachable. She led us directly to our spot, which we had reserved by phone. What is particularly positive is that she advised us on the new truffle pasta dishes that were not yet on the menu. We ordered and the food was simply delicious – there is absolutely nothing to complain about here! A small downside was the waiting time to pay, as it was very busy and it took a little longer before we could make eye contact with the waitress. However, that wasn't a big deal and didn't affect our overall impression. Next time we are in Metzingen we will definitely eat here again. Our pictures are original and photographed by ourselves.
