A really nice restaurant in Cologne. Fresh ingredients. From vegetarian to vegan. I personally really like the style. Fans even have the opportunity to purchase T-shits and bags. There is also specially freshly made and bottled hummus or tahini to take with you if you want. The service is always friendly and on the ball. Outside seating is also available and highly recommended in sunny weather. In addition to the fixed dishes on the menu, there is a changing “hummus of the week”. As far as I can tell, it is completely barrier-free.

One of my favorite shops in Cologne and hummus as good as in Tel Aviv, says my friend who lived there for a while. So can only be recommended, food a smooth 10/10, halloumi sticks are always a must, fantastic wine selection, creative hummus combinations, nice atmosphere… I'm really impressed :)

Mashery Hummus Kitchen in Cologne is an absolute highlight for lovers of Levantine cuisine! Particularly impressive is the **weekly changing "Hummus of the Week"**, which always impresses with creative and surprising combinations - from cauliflower with lemongrass chutney to autumnal variations with turnips and cranberries. The **side dishes** are as varied as they are delicious, including homemade falafel, red cabbage date salad and spicy zhug sauce[6]. Another plus: you can buy the fresh hummus and tahini directly on site and take it home, perfect for enjoying outside the restaurant. A small suggestion for improvement would be to introduce **gluten-free bread** in order to offer guests with gluten intolerance a suitable option for hummus. The attentive service and the cozy atmosphere make every visit a pleasure.

Extraordinarily delicious Hunmus variations await you, which are not just delicious, but also beautifully prepared. You feel very welcome in this small restaurant where you can sit outside or inside. Incredibly delicious, creamiest hummus in the world. Eggplant and salads, crunchy and smooth at the same time. Really great. The only thing is that it's easy to quickly pin the ambience stars to 4☝️ at the door

Super tasty selection, very nice service and friendly atmosphere. I would always recommend the seats outside because it quickly gets loud inside and there is an open kitchen. We were there with 5 people and everyone was super satisfied. The hummus dishes are to die for. If there are several people, be sure to order the delicious side salads for an even greater taste experience.

The best falafel and the hummus with mushrooms was also terrific. We also had fried eggplant. Perfect combination. Plus super nice service. Absolute recommendation.

I am absolutely thrilled with the delicious food and the extremely courteous and friendly service. The Hummua was the best ever! And the falafal exactly as they should be. The beetroot salad is deliciously seasoned. The portion was so big that I couldn't finish it all and the rest was lovingly packed up for me to take home. It's a bit cramped, but the place is small and rightly so busy. Always happy again!

This week's hummus (chard) wasn't as tasty as usual. The hummus itself is the tastiest I know! But unfortunately it was cold, which is not nice to eat

A nice little bistro, there is some seating outside and inside. Fast and friendly service, the waiting time is fair. The hummus was deliciously creamy, everything was freshly made, there was plenty of fragrant fresh bread, and the quantity was also balanced. There is the possibility of getting olives and cucumbers to eat, both of good quality and really tasty.

I always visit Mashery when I'm in Cologne. As a foodie I appreciate their dedication to using the best ingredients - the smooth hummus really is the best I've tasted. And it's incredibly good value too. I'm not a vegetarian but I do appreciate good food of any type.

We ordered a plate for 20 people for an event from our club. The food tasted great (the best hummus I've ever had) and was more than enough for the number of people. Gladly again!

The hummus had a fine taste. I like the decor in the store and appreciate the emphasis on shared Levantine cuisine (similar to Kanaan in Berlin). I'm even more disappointed with my overall experience. A bowl of hummus only comes with a small piece of pita bread. I asked for an extra piece and waited while the employee chatted (with owners? friends?) at another table. Finally, after 5-10 minutes, I went to her and asked how the bread was going (more of an exception for me, but I was very hungry and had to take a break from eating!). She said in a defensive tone it was already in the oven. The bread was brought to me straight away without so much as a “here you go” and it was slightly burnt and too hot to touch to finish the hummus. Had it been forgotten in the oven? The employee then immediately continued the conversation with the others. The extra bread also cost €1.50 extra (I paid for the whole thing from another colleague). When I left and said goodbye, the first colleague I walked past ignored me. Too bad.

Small but nice, the Mashery Hummus Kitchen. A dear friend recommended that I take a look here and eat a delicious hummus dish. I chose the Sabich sandwich, which was served to me with great friendliness. A wonderfully fluffy, freshly baked bread filled with fried aubergine, baked potato slices, creamy hummus, tahini sauce, crunchy fresh cucumber pieces, aromatic tomato, fruity Amba sauce and fresh herbs. A wonderfully delicate mixture that tastes wonderful. The ambience of the kitchen is clear and uncluttered but inviting and warm. The friendly staff are happy to answer questions and I didn't have to wait long for my order. It seems to be advisable to make a reservation here if you want to come at typical meal times. I will try one of the delicious vegetarian dishes again very soon.

Good restaurant in general and food is really tasty. However for a customer support i would recommend to be more interactive. Falafel and pita were the best. Also the hummus seemed very fresh and tasty.

We live in the neighborhood and enjoy going there. For me it is a very tasty alternative that always fascinates me about the herbs and spices you put on your plate. If it is full there may be waiting times. Always polite and friendly. And above all, the hummus of the week almost always suits my taste. Exciting.

I ordered the Shakshuka hummus with falafel and pita and it was DEVINE!! Absolutely the best hummus I have ever tasted. The only bad part is that I live nearly 5,000 miles from here and may never be able to eat it again 😫.

My absolute favorite restaurant/sandwich in Cologne I've never eaten anything as often or as much as the Sabich sandwich at Mashery. I went there weekly last year. The filling size of the sandwich varies from time to time, but the taste is always great. The addictive potential is extremely high and I don't want to have to go without it anymore. Absolute comfort food! 🥙

For the sake of transparency, I have to mention that I am an employee here. Or better said: I have been part of this incredibly lovely team for 4 years now and I felt at home in it from the very first moment. I can only rate the service very subjectively, but each of us does his/her best. After all, happy guests are our favorites :) All I can say about the food is that I was in love with it from the first moment (otherwise I wouldn't have applied here in the first place :D). A lot of handwork goes into what are probably the greenest falafels in Cologne, sauces, salads and, last but not least, the creamiest, tastiest hummus far and wide (in my opinion). And I think you can taste it. What makes the mashery unique for me is the colorful diversity of people, creative fusion dishes and the store's very own atmosphere.

For me, best shop in town! Creamiest hummus (!!!!!), juicy green & crispy and fluffy falafel, crispy fried halloumi and just a little taste journey through the creative weekly variations. And of course: the Sabich is a stunner anyway! Be sure to go there and order an extra portion of Amba sauce and sumac onions on top. :)

Great service and nice little shop. Now there are a lot more places outside, so it's easy to find a spot. Particularly noteworthy is the delicious food. I've never had a dish that didn't taste incredibly good to me. My personal favorite is jackfruit shawarma. The green falafel are also to die for. Hummus has a perfect consistency and tastes perfect too. The dishes are so well seasoned and taste so intense and varied that you won't miss anything even if you're a non-vegetarian. The restaurant is a good reason to stop eating meat altogether. The drinks menu is also impressive and ranges from regional beers to various delicious non-alcoholic drinks.

Unfortunately, at least on my hummus there was a rancid-tasting neutral oil instead of olive oil. A pity. The hummus was okay. My friend had the Sabich in bread which was probably quite tasty.

I remembered it from my last visit to Cologne and I definitely had to go back here. Absolute recommendation for all hummus lovers. Pita, falafel and hummus are all a poem. The service is friendly and there are enough seats available. Even at full lunchtime you don't have to wait long for your food.

Very tasty food, authentic, but also with other Mediterranean influences. You can taste the high-quality ingredients, the flavors are strong. Personally, I particularly liked the green falafel because it was perfectly fried. Criticisms: Hummus is pureed too strongly/for a long time, so in my opinion it has a too “sticky” consistency. The restaurant is small, everything is a bit cramped and the constant in and out meant it wasn't as comfortable as it could have been.

Price performance unfortunately poor. For a small bowl of hummus with a few toppings, you can charge a maximum of 5-7 euros, depending on the ingredients. This is certainly not a complete main course. However, the staff is very friendly.

Nice little shop with very tasty food from Israel/Middle East. It's not exactly cheap, but the things are really good. I can actually recommend the whole menu without reservation, but I think the roasted cauliflower is the best!

We've been here to Mashery-Hummus Kitchen several times and now I had to leave a review. The Mashery hummus is definitely recommended for everyone. The hummus has a very good consistency, the taste is great and not at all comparable to hummus bought in the supermarket. And there are different toppings depending on your preference. We had already tried several varieties. Today we had hummus with mushrooms and tabbouleh with pearl couscous. The Tabbouleh is Mashery's own interpretation of hummus and with the fresh mint and pearl couscous it is ideal for summer. Refreshing, light and very tasty. For the colder seasons I can definitely recommend the Arabic red cabbage date salad. I don't really like red cabbage but I can't resist this salad. When it comes to drinks, there is a small but good selection of soft drinks, beer, wine and homemade iced tea. I had the orange blossom iced tea and I can also recommend it. Refreshing, not too sweet and you can taste the orange blossom very well. We haven't tried the desserts yet but they're definitely on our menu for next time 😉 The dishes are mainly vegan, a few dishes have eggs or haloumi and are therefore vegetarian. Conclusion: Definitely give it a try. Even if you don't like hummus yet, try Mashery's hummus. You will thank me later 😉

Last night, I had the Hummus of the week: hummus pesto rosso potato (comes with 1 pita bread) and a malabi pomegranate. Both were delicious. I will definitely go back! It’s also better if you book a reservation in advance so you will not have to queue for a table.

We were there with around 25 colleagues and we were very enthusiastic. The food was great, very varied and there was something for everyone. The arrangement in advance as well as the service in the evening itself were really great and they even left it a little longer for us. Definitely a recommendation and many of us want to visit again!

I once had the hummus of the week with veggie chicken, very deliciously fried and with Kalamata olives. Then the Sabich, definitely my tastiest sandwich so far! Finally, the combo with delicious green falafels, all very tasty and recommended!

Way too expensive for these mini portions. The food doesn't taste bad, but unfortunately we weren't full. In a Lebanese restaurant you pay less than half as much for the same thing. A pity.

Very tasty food. The hummus of the week always changes creatively and makes regular customers constantly amazed at how delicious hummus can be. Anyone who says they don't like hummus hasn't tried it yet. Unique in taste and consistency. Together with the friendly and young team, it makes the shop a little pearl in the cityscape. Unfortunately, the location on the street doesn't have the best ambience, but that is far more than compensated for by the atmosphere and the friendly service.
