A pleasant atmosphere for young and old. Getting started with vegan/vegetarian food is made easy here.

Very chilled atmosphere & delicious healthy food. Prices were also fair & staff were friendly. We also noticed large colourful delicious looking platters of food leaving the cafe for delivery to some office or party in the city. Good to know!

As usual, all the dishes were delicious and the service attentive and welcoming. The portions look small, but they are very filling. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food, as are the wine prices. I especially appreciate the selection of vegan dishes.

We were there for lunch and had reserved a table. We received a friendly welcome and then ordered a wide selection of food. The hummus was perfect. All the dishes were prepared with care and skill. Just as it should be. A small menu, but the food is excellent. It's worth noting that the restaurant can get quite busy. Due to its size, it can get crowded around the seating area. Personally, though, it didn't bother me too much. I'll definitely be back.

We went there on a whim, were greeted warmly, and got a table right away. Ordering was seamless, and after a short wait, we received our delicious meal: hummus, shawarma, pointed cabbage, fried halloumi, and fries. Extremely well-seasoned and expertly prepared. Beautifully presented. We were absolutely delighted.

We were there in mid-September in the early evening. Sitting outside was still possible, and despite the busy street, it was still easy to have a conversation. The hummus was delicious, along with the side dishes and drinks, and it made for good conversation.

We ate at Mashery's last night and are still thrilled with the quality of the food. The portions seemed quite small at first glance, but it quickly became clear that they were perfectly adequate and very filling. The service was very polite. A minor drawback is the seating directly on the main street and the noise level in the restaurant. This made it difficult for us to eat in a more relaxed atmosphere. The food is definitely worth a visit. Thanks for the great evening!

I was initially a bit skeptical about whether a meatless dinner would convince me, but ultimately I was delighted. The taste was top-notch, the food was super fresh, and the service was friendly and charming, all complemented by a welcoming, lively atmosphere. Booking well in advance is highly recommended.

The plus point is the truly delicious hummus. The atmosphere is absolutely fine, but I wouldn't go there just because of the ambiance.

We were completely satisfied with the food, the service, and the restaurant. Both the hummus with walnuts and the red cabbage and date salad were very good. The falafel was a bit too salty. We'll be back soon.

We were there for dinner. We were lucky to get a table because it filled up pretty quickly. The waitresses were super nice. We would have preferred a bit more bread and a bit more salt for the food, but otherwise it was delicious. Since we were sitting by the street and it was a bit noisy, it wasn't the best place to sit, but it was definitely bearable.

As always, it was lovely to be with you, and the food tastes amazing every time. The only thing I find unfortunate is that they no longer serve one dish: the whole cauliflower in tahini sauce, which was always my personal highlight. They do have cauliflower again, but unfortunately, only in a more toned-down version, in my opinion. I would be happy if you could perhaps add the old cauliflower back to the menu 🤗

We waited at least an hour for hummus and cauliflower, which was unfortunately still too cold. The drinks alone took about 15 minutes to arrive at our table... The hummus was generally very good, but the rest is only partially recommendable.

I'm actually not a vegetarian at all (let alone vegan), but I have to praise this restaurant highly. Everything I've tried here so far has been incredibly delicious. Truly, incredibly delicious! The staff are also extremely friendly, and the wine is delicious too :) Keep it up!

Never had such good hummus! My—very delicious!!!—white wine was a bit too warm, and they kindly gave me a new glass; great service! And the Malabi Date Fleur de Sel dessert was a taste revelation 😍 I'm already thinking about when I'll go next! Thanks to the team!

Hello, Unfortunately, I can't give a good review. My girlfriend and I reserved a table today. When we got there, we were told that the table was gone by 7:30 p.m. and that we didn't have a reservation. It's a real shame, as we called an hour in advance and drove from Nippes, and it took us 45 minutes to get there. Unfortunately, no attempt was made to fix or resolve the problem. Therefore, we can't say anything about the food. However, the service was unfortunately not good.

We came to this restaurant with our family for a relaxed meal – especially for the hummus, for which the restaurant is actually known. About 15 minutes after the official opening time, however, we were informed that the "hummus of the day" would require at least another hour of preparation. All other dishes would have been available, but the signature dish of the house should take so long? In our view, a restaurant should be fully operational at opening time – especially when it's the house specialty. This was disappointing for us and unfortunately seems unprofessional. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a pleasant visit. Edit Hello and thank you for the feedback. We actually visited you on a Saturday – so the explanation about the preparation on Monday was a bit of a surprise. We generally understand that the hummus of the week is freshly prepared. We would have expected it to be ready on the weekend – especially if, as mentioned, it's your signature dish. What we would also like to see is that the staff are better trained in such situations to actively offer alternatives or to transparently explain why certain dishes are unavailable. A proactive, guest-oriented approach would have made the situation much more pleasant. Despite the disappointment, we want to be fair and, especially considering the feedback, are increasing our rating by one star. We also appreciate the offer to treat us – but consciously decline it. We would be happy to come back and pay for our visit ourselves to get an authentic impression of the cuisine and service.

Delicious hummus, but a snack bar atmosphere, very loud, uncomfortable seating, slow and overwhelmed service, very warm / why don't they open the windows when it's 30 degrees?

A very nice little restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, despite the small size of the restaurant, it took more than 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The food was delicious. I'd be happy to go back.

The service was very friendly. The price/performance ratio seems a mystery to me. Without advertising for the competition, there are fantastic alternatives nearby with the same food, but with more variety, tastier, and cheaper.

Very tasty, but the price/performance ratio isn't right. The hummus is by far the best I know. That's why I've been coming here irregularly for years – most of the side dishes and toppings are great too. Unfortunately, it's far too expensive. The portions are tiny, especially the single loaf of bread is really cheeky. In Cologne, there's simply not much choice in the hummus category; in Berlin, comparable portions cost less than half. Edit: Simply because the reaction to the review annoyed me and I can't respond to the reply. -I live in Berlin half the month and can guarantee you that the average price is significantly higher. What that has to do with Sonnenallee is something I don't understand, but it certainly doesn't make you likeable. -Regarding the calculation: the purchase price for your groceries will be under €1.50 per portion. No one is saying you're stuffing your pockets. But I expect to be full from a portion of hummus for €9. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm always happy about companies that accept feedback as it comes and don't think they have to lecture their customers :)

Great food and usually very fast

I came here without any expectations, but it completely won me over. Super tasty and filling, perfect for a healthy lunch.

Unfortunately, that wasn't it. The price/value ratio wasn't right.

The food is incredibly delicious. The portions have gotten a bit larger, but it's not for someone who's really hungry. At lunchtime, you wait 20 minutes for your food, even when the restaurant is only half full—so it's not for a quick lunch break.

The hummus is delicious. And I would eat here again if I were in the area. I wasn't satisfied with the delivery (via Uber). The pita bread I ordered for €2 was missing, and the hummus container was only 1/3 full. I get full eating there, but unfortunately not with delivery, and for that price (with a delivery surcharge), it's not worth it :( Too bad... I only go there occasionally, when I'm in the area and can eat there. Unfortunately, that's not that often.

So we were here for the first time today. After 20 minutes, someone finally came and took our order. After another 12 minutes, the drinks finally arrived. And the food came another 20 minutes later. So it took an hour from sitting down to eating. Drinks arrived after 32 minutes in 25-degree heat and sunshine. Absolute disaster. The food was okay, but it was dampened by the mood.

I had heard a lot of good things beforehand from some rather critical people, and my expectations were fully met: It may be "just" hummus, but it's much more. The dishes are creative and delicious, of good quality, and not too expensive. I also really liked the atmosphere of the shop: modern, bright, and unique, without trying to be fancy at all costs. I'd be happy to come back.

A truly lovely restaurant in Cologne. Fresh ingredients. From vegetarian to vegan. I personally really like the style. Fans even have the opportunity to purchase T-shirts and bags. They also offer freshly made and bottled hummus or tahini to take away if you'd like. The service is always friendly and prompt. Outdoor seating is also available, highly recommended in sunny weather. In addition to the set dishes on the menu, there's a rotating "hummus of the week." As far as I can tell, the restaurant is completely wheelchair accessible.

Finally a shop that really deserves my 5 stars. Rarely have I had such good hummus. The Sabich is very well coordinated. The green falafel was perfect. The lemonades are quite good, only the "original" in the large square in Bethlehem is better.

I once had the hummus of the week with veggie chicken, very deliciously fried and with Kalamata olives. Then the Sabich, definitely my tastiest sandwich so far! Finally, the combo with delicious green falafels, all very tasty and recommended!

One of my favorite shops in Cologne and hummus as good as in Tel Aviv, says my friend who lived there for a while. So can only be recommended, food a smooth 10/10, halloumi sticks are always a must, fantastic wine selection, creative hummus combinations, nice atmosphere… I'm really impressed :)

Mashery Hummus Kitchen in Cologne is an absolute highlight for lovers of Levantine cuisine! Particularly impressive is the **weekly changing "Hummus of the Week"**, which always impresses with creative and surprising combinations - from cauliflower with lemongrass chutney to autumnal variations with turnips and cranberries. The **side dishes** are as varied as they are delicious, including homemade falafel, red cabbage date salad and spicy zhug sauce[6]. Another plus: you can buy the fresh hummus and tahini directly on site and take it home, perfect for enjoying outside the restaurant. A small suggestion for improvement would be to introduce **gluten-free bread** in order to offer guests with gluten intolerance a suitable option for hummus. The attentive service and the cozy atmosphere make every visit a pleasure.

Super tasty selection, very nice service and friendly atmosphere. I would always recommend the seats outside because it quickly gets loud inside and there is an open kitchen. We were there with 5 people and everyone was super satisfied. The hummus dishes are to die for. If there are several people, be sure to order the delicious side salads for an even greater taste experience.

The best falafel and the hummus with mushrooms was also terrific. We also had fried eggplant. Perfect combination. Plus super nice service. Absolute recommendation.
