Combined with its unique location and delicious cuisine, the Märzenhof is worth a visit.

Beautiful view when you sit on the terrace. However, the food is mediocre and the staff friendly. It's nothing special, but still good. Perhaps that's partly due to the fact that when the weather is nice, the terrace is very busy, and everything is simply overcrowded.

Very nice restaurant. The food and prices are very good. There's also a daily special outside the regular menu. Friendly service. The only criticism is the fries, which were left in the fryer a bit too long and were dry.

The view is truly beautiful. But today we ordered chanterelle mushrooms with cream sauce and bread dumplings for €18.70. Unfortunately, we only got a béchamel soup with venison (5 pieces) and flour dumplings with added flavor enhancers. Not a great end to our vacation. Perhaps the starch lies in the homemade cakes. But we decided not to order them again, just to be on the safe side.

A well-maintained appearance, both inside and out! Clean and well-maintained (including the restrooms and the rest of the area). (The interior isn't my taste, but nothing to complain about). Food = very good quality, top-notch flavor, simply focused on the essentials and presentation! We haven't tried the drinks extensively. Service was very friendly, quick, attentive, and the team worked together; everyone was equally interested in the well-being of the guests and always approachable. I would happily recommend it again and again. The wonderful view of the mountain panorama from the terrace is another plus! Perhaps they could have added candles or light sources to the tables in the evening; the fairy lights weren't turned on, which would have naturally attracted mosquitoes and other vermin! Extremely satisfied all around!

It's been a while since we ate at the Märznhof. The ambiance is excellent; there's nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, we found the food to be mediocre and interchangeable. The Wiener Schnitzel was very poorly prepared, and the fries were relatively crispy. The accompanying salad was very small and lacking in flavor. My request for fried potatoes instead of fries was not fulfilled, even though they were on the daily menu. This was never an issue at other restaurants.

A very pleasant ambiance, super delicious food. The service is very friendly; the three of us arrived without booking, and a table was quickly made ready for us. They offer traditional home cooking as well as daily specials. There's also a pastry shop attached, so it's worth stopping by even just for coffee and cake.

Restaurant / Breakfast Review: We had breakfast at the "Märznhof" on May 24, 2025, as a couple. It was too cold for the wonderful terrace with its great view, so we were seated inside. The reservation worked. The style is modern-rustic; I liked it. The service was very friendly; at times, we would have liked more attention. The breakfast selection is very good; the seasonal sandwich for €11.50 (see photo) was very good and a generous portion. However, I found the yogurt for around €4.50 too small. I would have liked to have checked the menu again, but unfortunately, there isn't one on the website. There's nothing under "You can take a closer look at the menu here:" Breakfast is served Tuesday - Friday from 10 a.m. Saturday | Sunday | Public Holidays from 9:30 a.m. But UNTIL when?? And Tuesday is actually a day off... The "Märznhof" is also worth a visit for its cake and pastry counter. Free parking is available below the restaurant. We would love to return to this idyllic setting.

Definitely recommended. We stopped here after our bike ride. Delicious dishes at fair prices. The staff is friendly, although you sometimes have to signal if you want something else (we don't mind). We weren't asked for dessert and had to ask for the menu ourselves, so this is just a tip/well-intentioned criticism 😉 We'd be happy to go back anytime. Wonderful view of the Alpine panorama.

We've been to the Märznhof several times and have always been more than satisfied. From the beautiful view and lovely decor to the friendly, competent staff and truly delicious dishes. It's great that you exist :-)

A pub and beer garden with a phenomenal location and views of the Alps. The staff are extremely friendly, cheerful, and quick. Great dishes, top-notch in taste! And the value for money is excellent. I always enjoy coming here.

Disappointing, the food was tasteless. The service was okay. They need to work on the cleanliness a bit.

We've been to the Märznhof several times, but unfortunately, the last two visits were disappointing. We had, among other things, burnt, over-salted napkin dumplings, which we then complained about and returned because they were inedible. We then ordered an espresso, and when we paid, the waiter very generously said he hadn't charged for it. However, the inedible main course was on the bill. We then intervened and stated that we didn't want to pay for it. We then spoke to the manager, then it was removed from the bill, but the espresso was added instead. What kind of poor handling of complaints is that? Instead of giving us the espresso as an apology, we had to pay for it, and no apology came either. At today's prices, this is unacceptable. The fantastic view means the restaurant is always busy, but the quality of the food has declined dramatically, as has the service; you feel a bit tolerated. It's a shame, as we live locally.

Simply beautiful! ...I regret to correct that. We were there for breakfast for the second time. The 1 for 2...and we had that a year ago too. We were disappointed. As plentiful and lovingly prepared a year ago as it was now, it was just as disappointing. We even had a picture to compare. As a couple, I don't want to share a slice of tomato or argue about who gets the slice of salami. At breakfast for two people, everything has to be on the plate at least twice. Even the bread selection was smaller. What a shame. The location and service are still top-notch. But we won't be back. We'd rather charge a euro more...if there's no other option.

We celebrated our wedding at the Märznhof. The food was excellent, the service friendly and very attentive. The dining room was decorated with great attention to detail.

Unfortunately, our visit didn't meet our expectations. The service was inattentive and seemed unengaged. Although we had only ordered sausages, the food arrived incomplete: one portion was accidentally served incorrectly, and another was missing entirely. Only after repeated inquiries did they respond – unfortunately, without an apology. We still had to pay the full amount for the incorrectly served portion, which we found disappointing. A little more accommodating would have significantly improved the situation. We also felt neglected throughout the rest of the meal: We had to actively ask for the bill and weren't asked if we wanted anything else. It's a shame, because we would have liked to have had dessert. Overall, a visit that unfortunately doesn't leave a good impression.

What further disappointed us: We would have liked to order dessert, but they didn't even ask if we wanted anything else. We felt completely ignored and eventually, we were fed up—we just wanted to leave. Overall, a very unsatisfying experience. This is not how you imagine a restaurant visit.

Wonderful view of the Tölz foothills of the Alps and a direct view of the Zugspitze, of course only when the weather is nice. Cake and food in my opinion 10 out of 10 stars. Service was quick and special requests were quickly taken into account. I would love to come back. Others can learn a lot from this.

I'm looking forward to some delicious roast pork. Dumplings didn't taste like anything. Half of the meat was ok, the other half was cut. Was tough and not edible. There was still a piece of crust. It was totally black on the underside. So not suitable for eating either. We definitely won't see each other again. And if the kitchen door wasn't constantly open, the clothes wouldn't smell so like grease.

We received a very warm welcome at the Märznhof and we enjoyed the food excellently. We will definitely come again to try the other culinary delights such as the breakfast and the excellent cakes. The ambience, very Alpine-style, was tasteful, but didn't suit my personal taste. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to our next visit and can recommend the Märznhof.

Very stylish restaurant in a Bavarian mountain hut atmosphere. Friendly service, great views and, above all, delicious and plentiful food. We had the roast pork, highly recommended. The price is really ok. The view of the nearby mountains from the terrace or the shutters is also great.

We have been to Märznhof on many occasions and are more than satisfied every single time! This year we were guests again on Boxing Day with the whole family and were completely thrilled again! The service was again a 10/10. Feel free to come back anytime :)

A delight for all the senses in the Märzhof, Nantesbuch This afternoon we had the pleasure of visiting the Märzhof in Nantesbuch near Penzberg - and it was an experience that we can warmly recommend. Culinary experience The dishes from the daily menu were excellent and demonstrated fresh ingredients and loving preparation. As a starter we enjoyed a wonderfully creamy pumpkin cream soup, which impressed with its delicate spice. The main course, venison cream goulash with cranberry pears and homemade butter spaetzle, was a real delight: the meat was tender, the sauce tasted perfectly and the side dishes complemented it perfectly. The menu was rounded off with a homemade hay milk Camembert, baked crispy, served with cranberries and a salad baguette - a highlight that particularly scored with its freshness and aromatic taste. A place of peace and beauty In addition to the culinary quality, the Märzhof is particularly impressive with its location and atmosphere. The view from the restaurant of the surrounding mountains is simply breathtaking. The sunset in particular gave the visit a magical touch and made the afternoon unforgettable. Conclusion The Märzhof is a wonderful place that perfectly combines culinary enjoyment and nature experiences. Whether for a cozy meal or as a place to relax - a visit is worth it and leaves lasting impressions.

Was die Küche da rausgegeben hat (halbe Ente), war der Wahnsinn. Das war der letzte Besuch. Wird aber wahrscheinlich auch nicht interessieren, so wie die Reklamation.

Bei gutem Wetter bietet das Lokal von der Terrasse aus eine traumhafte Sicht auf das "blaue Land". Der Service ist extrem gastorientiert und flexibel, die Speisenauswahl übersichtlich, die Qualität jedoch ausgezeichnet

Great location with (when the weather is clear) a fantastic view of the Alps up to the Zugspitze. The inn impresses with its bright and friendly atmosphere, which is in no way inferior to the smiling and effective service. We were well looked after. The excellent cuisine will be remembered. Visiting the clean toilets is a must...even if you don't have to.

Really nice here. Friendly, considerate staff, modern, clean facilities. The view is pretty even in bad weather. The menu is clear, but the food is fresh and tasty and there are also daily menus that complement the regular menu.

What can I say... just feel good, unwind, enjoy good food, nice service, great views and the delicious cakes. Even if the journey with Google is a bit adventurous, it leads through very beautiful but narrow paths. Especially if you don't know the area. No friendly service. We were made to feel like we were being annoying. Rain was expected and the guests were more or less driven away. “We don’t serve outside when it rains.” I understand, but what are the big awnings for? Can't you lower them to protect the guests from the rain? Full of panic before a shower and hectic spread. No, we don't have to have that again and wouldn't recommend the restaurant. It's actually nice there.

Have been there for dinner three times in the evening now. Ambience is great. The food was good in terms of taste and quality, but the portion size for the same dish fluctuated between too little and ok. Unfortunately, when requested, information about ingredients is sometimes incorrect, making it problematic for allergy sufferers. Service was friendly but waiting times were sometimes very long, even when the restaurant was almost empty. No response to email feedback.

Yesterday I was eating at Märzenhof with a friend late at lunchtime. The Kässpatzen were excellent, the drinks and food came quickly and the view is beautiful. Unfortunately we had 2 very unfriendly ladies who served us. At first they rolled their eyes in annoyance when I asked if I could please have a cloth to wipe the table with the answer: Yes, now a moment! Then we wanted our schnitzel to be made from a different meat instead of pork. When she came back, she had probably forgotten to ask (that was the look on her face). But she quickly said, no, we only have pork. A gentleman at the next table had the pepper fall completely on his meat because the lid wasn't closed properly. The brown-haired lady then said: Yes, now what? We can't take responsibility for everything. It would have been a guest or a child. Phew, I call that unprofessional. At the end the lady gave a short and succinct apology. When I was paying, when I was asked if I could pay with a card, I was looked at annoyed and the blonde waitress said, then we have to go in, turned around and ran off. I wasn't sure I should follow or what was going to happen until she came into view again and waved to me. I still tipped because the young gentleman who brought the salad was very friendly. I served around 200 people at weddings for 15 years in an inn, sometimes 12 hours a day. I understand this workload very well and such behavior is and remains unprofessional!

We only “ate” iced coffee and an ice cream sundae, both very good. Great view of the mountains from the very nice terrace. Inside, real Austrian style, like in a stylish ski hut... We'll definitely come back for real food.

My girls and I were there for breakfast. The view is spectacular but the service is a complete failure. After ordering, it took about 20-30 minutes for our “breakfast storm” to arrive. Some guests had their food earlier but arrived later. 1 scrambled egg, which was ordered separately, arrived again 5 minutes later and when I asked where the remaining 3 scrambled eggs were that were included with breakfast, I was rudely told that I could see what was going on and should be patient. We then had to wait another 5 minutes for the egg. The bottle of water that we specially ordered only came when we asked. At the end we wanted to have a drink and they gave us the menu but after that no one came to take the order. In the end we had to pay because the table was reserved again for lunch. None of the three employees who found their way to our table had a smile on their faces. It's a shame because as I said, the food is very, very tasty and the view is amazing.

Zugegeben, die Lokalität und der Blick auf das Alpenpanorama schlägt fast alles. Das atemberaubend und wunderschön. Bei schönem Wetter sind Außenplätze Pflicht. Aber auch kulinarisch kann sich der "Märznhof" sehen lassen. Solide bayrische und deutsche Küche. Es schmeckt gut und man wird satt. Kleiner Tip: Auch mal die Tageskarte bei den Desserts checken. Das Beste zum Schluß: Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und immer aufmerksam.
