Marktstüble in Stuttgart

It's a restaurant inside the city market. The food was quite good. The prices are quite reasonable.

We wanted to have a drink with five people on a Saturday afternoon. The waiter left us sitting without paying any attention and then stayed inside for quite some time. When he came back outside, he started clearing tables, and when we asked if we could order, he cheekily replied, "When I have time," and that if it rained, there wouldn't be any seats left inside. So we got up and left. That's just not acceptable.

The Marktstüble offers unbeatable value for money, fast and humorous service, and a great atmosphere.

We loved the cheese spaetzle. We spontaneously got a table outside, and the atmosphere was nice there, too.

We had Affagato Coffee for 6.8€. Felt like it was not even worth 2€. 1. It felt the coffee was not an expresso shot. 2. Ice cream scoop as good as non existent. 3.Coffee already poured and served was already cold to luke warm state. Affagato Coffee not recommended here.

I haven't experienced anything so unfriendly in a long time. Six of us wanted a drink and were literally kicked out, even though we had clearly communicated beforehand that we only wanted a drink. I couldn't understand.

While strolling through the market hall, we enjoyed a typical Swabian meal here and were delighted. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. The price/performance ratio is absolutely fair!

We got hungry in the evening and stopped here for dinner. The service was friendly and courteous, and Dotty wasn't a problem. We ordered a salad without dressing, cheese spaetzle, and a fruit spritzer. The spaetzle were very good, but the salad had dressing on it. The spritzer was good. All in all, I paid about €25, which is mid-range and OK. In any case, you can eat well here.

We ate here with the family. We really enjoyed our time. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good. The atmosphere was nice. Highly recommended.

I wanted to have lunch with a friend at the Marktstüble. There were free tables outside, so we sat at a table for four. We were then rather rudely informed that it was a table for four and should move. However, the table for two was too sunny. We left, partly due to the unfriendly service. Around the corner at Nesenbach, we were also served friendly at a table for four, had an even nicer, shady seat, and enjoyed a good meal.

Went there rather randomly walking in the city town, asked quickly and in Italian if we could be seated, we were welcomed and treated wonderfully by the waiting staff. Got out delicious food very quickly and even enjoyed extra large portions of tiramisu...

The first time, we just stopped by for a drink. It was a real hustle and bustle, so we had to wait a good 20 minutes for four beers. . . The second time, we stopped by for food. We had a different server. The drinks came very quickly, and we didn't have to wait long for the food either. The food was incredibly delicious, and the portions were very generous.

Never again!!! I wanted to have a drink with my family at 1:45 PM with a 3-month-old toddler outside. The lady refused to serve us, saying that if we didn't eat, we'd have to vacate the table. I travel to Stuttgart often for business and have even visited with clients. Based on this experience, I'll never go back!!!

Locale nel centro, senza grandi pretese ma abbiamo provato la cucina tipica della zona e ci è piaciuta. Personalmente ho preso la trippa e l’ho gradita. Servizio molto cortese e veloce. 30 euro a testa per piatto unico, mega dolce birra e grappa.

Leider eine herbe Enttäuschung. Der Zwiebelrostbraten war zäh, die Qualität des Fleisches schlecht. Die Rotweinsauce schmeckte hauptsächlich nach Fett, ohne jede Raffinesse. Kartoffeln und Spätzle wirkten wie Fertigprodukte. Als das Essen kam, schwamm der Küchenbon mitten in der Sauce – das war nicht nur unappetitlich, sondern auch unhygienisch. Nach dem Besuch hatten wir den ganzen Tag über Magenprobleme. Für zwei Zwiebelrostbraten fast 70 € zu verlangen, ist unter diesen Umständen absolut nicht nachvollziehbar.

Disappointing – unfortunately, the worst roast beef with onions we've ever had. The dish seemed carelessly prepared; the meat was tough and of poor quality. The red wine sauce was greasy and flavorless. The potatoes and spaetzle strongly resembled convenience foods. When the meal was served, the receipt was completely submerged in the sauce – unhygienic and unprofessional. Worst of all: We had stomach problems all day after the meal. Charging almost €70 for two roast beef with onions is absolutely unjustified in this condition.

The premises are completely run down. I've rarely experienced anything like this. Convenience food, not really recommended. The roast pork was terrible. The apple-flavored red cabbage was 100% reheated from a jar. After using the restrooms in the basement (check the condition of the interior, access), the food was sitting in my stomach.

Expensive for what it offers... Just salads with meat, nothing special... The kitchen closed at nine o'clock, we asked for dessert at nine-five and they didn't serve us...

The asparagus and schnitzel were delicious! I was looking forward to the fresh boiled potatoes, but unfortunately they were convenience food. Otherwise, the service and atmosphere were great.

If you want to enjoy excellent Swabian cuisine in the atmosphere of a market hall, in a place steeped in tradition, this is the place for you. A special feature and tradition of the house: every guest gets a free soup. I was impressed.

German Swabian cuisine was offered and was very tasty. I can only recommend it Sausage salad, potato salad and the lentils with sausages and spaetzle were very good

After a disappointing visit to the restaurant on Friday in April (on the menu pollack with potato salad €18.90). The portion was as big as my palm, not even 1 cm thick and 2 tablespoons of potato salad, although there were 2 sizeable pieces of fish on the plate at the neighboring table, the visit was very disappointing. A rip-off in terms of price. After talking to the waiter yesterday I didn't look for an apology or anything like that. Another attempt, the waitress only brought the menu after asking and immediately wanted to know what we wanted to eat. The schnitzel was tough, tasteless and lay on the fried potatoes, so you could hardly see their condition. Dripping with grease and probably the remains of the pan and for €18.50 For us the restaurant and the service are dead and cannot be recommended. There are better ones in Stuttgart. The only thing that bothers you is the guest/customer.

I can't comment on the food because we just wanted to have two quick beers and my pregnant friend wanted to sit down and have a drink. Visiting from Upper Franconia, we are not used to the fact that 2 p.m. is lunchtime and we had to get up even though there were still at least 20 free places. Especially since Upper Franconia is known for its strong and rapid beer consumption. The waiter tried to package it nicely - but still in a typically Italian arrogant and uncomprehending manner. The atmosphere is really nice and it would definitely have been a good stay. If there were long lines and no free seats, I would have understood the argument... not like that.

I had woody, poorly peeled asparagus with shrimp skewer for 29.50 euros. Passed on to the waiter when asked. No real reaction. Probably not again.

I usually take photos of the food, but unfortunately here I was so disappointed with the waiter that I didn't even bother. I was pregnant at the time and wanted to spend a nice afternoon with my partner, but unfortunately I was served by a racist waiter who wanted to reserve a table that wasn't reserved for anyone else. Making assumptions about a person's appearance, behavior, and treating us like we're eating for free or paying less than the other guests is just pathetic. I wish you, dear waiter, good luck in achieving enlightenment in life. Other than that the food was delicious but unfortunately I will never come here again.

Food is fantastic . Above my expectation. But the most impressive is the service of the guy that serves us . He’s extremely nice, polite and helpful. He makes an effort to explain patiently on the different dishes..

Terrible service. We wait 10 minutes for the menu. Which we were given in German even though we spoke English to the waiter. He tells us it's not possible to have small beers if we don't eat???? It's not marked anywhere. Rebelote we wait 15 minutes to be served and another 15 minutes to be able to pay. When you don't leave a tip you get a nasty comment. And then what else??? To flee

There is no worse restaurant in Stuttgart. Half the shop was empty at 3 p.m. It's just not possible to have a drink, the waitress refused to serve us. Extremely unfriendly. We wouldn't have tipped us anymore, even if we ate.

Unter der Woche spontan eingekehrt, nachdem man jahrelang immer vorbei- statt reingegangen ist. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen, durften uns einen Platz aussuchen, erhielten zügig die Karte. Die Bestellung wurde dann auch zeitnah aufgegeben, nachdem wir den freundlichen Hinweis erhielten, dass einiges von der Tageskarte / Wochengericht bereits aus war. Auf Beilagenänderungen ging man anstandslos ein, und schlug uns auf dieser Basis auch eine andere Änderung eines typisch Gerichts vor, Jägerschnitzel paniert. Mega. Werde ich künftig häufiger verlangen Fazot: Schwäbisches Kleinod in der Gastronomie, wir kommen in jedem Fall wieder!

The Swabian would probably say: “You can eat it”. The food was very tasty, the spaetzle and Maultaschen that I had were freshly made, the meat and the sauce were also excellent. Rounded off by friendly and competent staff. A clear recommendation!

Yesterday we had a unique experience in Marktstüble. The waiter was extraordinary good. He was super nice and helpful. Very very rare great service in Germany.

We are very excited. The waiters were really very friendly and were always available for small talk. There was even a delicious starter soup for FREE. Where else can you get something for free today?! We really love this little restaurant. The food was also really delicious. The price-performance ratio is also great. Definitely deserves the 5 stars and we clearly recommend it to everyone!

Super loud and tight. Unfortunately the cabbage in the Kohkroulades wasn't cooked through. When I complained about it, I said there's nothing we can do about it. When I put my toddler on the tricycle outside, full mugs of beer were poured all over my pants. There was an angry apology and I was simply left standing. That was a really bad experience there this afternoon. Absolutely not recommended!! It's a tourist trap anyway!

It was so wonderful there, great market stalls and a great restaurant. We sat at the bar and drank cocktails.

We were recently at the Marktstüble and had mixed experiences. The Maultaschen were really tasty, there's nothing wrong with that! Unfortunately the service was not at the same level. Our waiter was new, which is understandable, but the service left a lot to be desired. We had to wait almost 40 minutes for our drinks and almost an hour for our food. Such waiting times may be bearable when it comes to food, but definitely not when it comes to drinks. Dealing with the situation was even more problematic: another waiter was asked about the problems by guests next to us, but did not respond helpfully. Instead of finding a solution or apologizing, he referred to the many guests in an unfriendly tone. Better support for the new colleague would certainly have helped. During our visit, several guests got up and left because they simply had to wait too long. That speaks for itself. The absolute lowest point, however, was paying: our waiter simply added a tip for himself, which of course isn't possible. Conclusion: Good food, but service desperately needs improvement. A friendlier approach to problems, better organization and more consideration for the guests would make the experience much more pleasant.

Zahlreiche Tische vor der Markthalle, also blieben wir draußen. Der erste Eindruck war ein lautstarker Streit der Kellner untereinander. Nach langer Wartezeit wurden auch die Gäste wahrgenommen und nach ihren Wünschen befragt. Die Bestellung haben wir vorsichtig und zurückhaltend aufgegeben, um den ohnehin schon aufgebrachten Kellner etwas zu beruhigen. Das Essen kam dann wieder nach langer Wartezeit, war kaum noch warm und entsprach schwäbischer Gasthausküche ; wirklich nicht schlecht , aber auch nicht besonders interessant. Nach wiederum langer Wartezeit haben wir die Rechnung erhalten und haben dieses Lokal verlassen. Trinkgeld haben wir uns in diesem Fall erspart, wofür hätte es auch sein sollen ??

Durch Zufall kamen wir hier vorbei und entschieden uns, hier Maultaschen zu essen. Wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Maultaschen schmeckten hervorragend. Die Portionen waren auch ok. Und es wurde alles liebevoll auf den Tellern angerichtet. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auf jeden Fall werde ich wiederkommen.

The family visited this restaurant by chance, although the 4* reviews were a little alarming. But everything was tasty, the service was good, the portions were large. The truth is that dinner for two adults and children cost almost €100. But this is exactly the case when you are happy to settle by leaving a tip.

Today's first visit with complete satisfaction: Service friendly, unobtrusive and competent, food very tasty.

I regularly like to eat there because the price is great and the service is actually courteous. I was there again recently and realized that the waiter didn't quite understand the restaurant's processes in terms of guest service. When paying, I noticed that the receipt showed 1x bottle of water, although there should have been a large glass of sparkling water there. After pointing this out to the waiter, the answer came promptly: “That only differs by 40ct”. Yes, it's only 40ct and yes it doesn't matter, but this basic arrogance is simply not acceptable and guests are not treated like that either! Mistakes happen and are human, but they can be corrected. Of course the tip was poor (this person would have earned €0.0 plus a medal for their extremely poor performance) which was immediately noticeable paraverbally. Complete no go!

After a stopover from Ischgl, we went for a bite to eat. Not expensive & the food was delicious, as the icing on the cake we also received free soup. Nice owner, great guy.

Visit on December 4th for lunch, table number 15. The dish of the day, the liver, was already sold out at 11:50 a.m. The food was average, the service doesn't get a star. Never been treated so unkindly. I felt compelled to pay the bill in cash, the waiter didn't ask, printed it out and said that if I paid by card he would have to go again. The meal cost 43.70, I gave 50 euros, he came back with 6 euros and I was supposed to get the 30 cents then too. I'm still waiting for this today. We were also not made aware that there was a soup for every dish that you could get yourself. Somewhere. Snarky, arrogant, loud service. Didn't realize yet that we were the customers. Once again in Stuttgart we give this restaurant a wide berth

Delicious food and great service. Our waiter/waiter was great, I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time. Despite the full house, friendly, always ready with a kind word or joke and never annoyed.

I spontaneously decided on this location in the market hall. I was particularly looking forward to the venison goulash. But unfortunately the mushrooms predominated instead of the meat with 4 parts. After I reported this to the service staff, they responded very quickly. I think it's extremely great and a big compliment to the service staff. I would be very happy to come back.

Metal wire in the food is justified by “the kitchen in Wangen” - question about statement from the kitchen: We can go to Wangen together on Monday. On our tip there was some schnapps. We said that this doesn't make it good.

I come from Kassel and visit a museum in Stuttgart every now and then. Before or after I have to eat at the Marktstüble. Great menu, quick service, great value for money for the customer. Really great...

Ambience good, very cozy outside in the beer garden. Good, home-style food. Price performance ok. Service has to work on itself, short and stressed.

We were greeted by a nice Hungarian server. He helped me choose, the side dishes were flexible. Along with the main course, we also received soup, which is included in the price. The food was very delicious! We received a lot of information from him about what to see in the city.

We were in Stuttgart today as a short vacation and wanted to have a morning pint in the Marktstüberl. Unfortunately we were too early, but the nice waiter Uwe sent us on with a recommendation. Since he left a lasting (positive) impression, we went out for dinner late in the afternoon and were totally thrilled. Super nice service from Uwe, super good food (it was definitely different these days) what can I say? Always happy . Thank you, Uwe, your fans from Wolfratshausen.

Not recommended at busy times, no table numbers so staff wander around with plates of food shouting in German and if you are not fluent it’s easy to miss your dish. On a table of three people two of us got food quickly and the third person ate twenty minutes later. The food and location are good and the market hall itself is highly recommended.

I have never experienced such unfriendly or impossible service in my life. After our friendly request that we would like to be treated more kindly, the waiter refused to serve us. We then got up and left. The boss wasn't interested in our complaint either. I can only advise against it. There are much better places in Stuttgart.
