Sehr gutes Essen, sehr gutes Preisleistungsvehältnis

Sehr gute Hausmannskost zu angenehmen Preisen. Wir waren zwei mal dort und jedes mal zufrieden und satt.

Direkt am Markt in Harzgerode, auf Nachfrage einen Salat bekommen, obwohl Schnitzel Tag war 😏

Wir waren am Wochenende dort essen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Schnitzel samt Bratkartoffeln waren einfach empfehlenswert. Die Angestellten freundlich und einladend, das Ambiente etwas rustikaler, aber gemütlich. Wir hatten ein schönes Mittagessen und kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder, wenn wir wieder im Harz sind.

Eine gemütliche Gaststätte, sehr nette Bedienung und leckeres Essen - wir hatten Schnitzel mit Spiegeleiern und Bratkartoffeln. Hat gut geschmeckt, Preis-Leistung top!

Wir haben hier aufgrund des Freisitzes am Markt mit den Bikes 🏍️ angehalten und worden nicht enttäuscht! Die Marktklause ist eher ein Kaffee als Restaurant, trotzdem bekommt man eine kleine Auswahl an Essen. Das Essen wurde schnell zubereitet. Die Qualität für ein Kaffee in Ordnung und dem Preis angemessen. Wer Gourmet möchte sollte in ein anderes Restaurant gehen. Die Lage top 👍 wir konnten direkt neben dem Tisch parken. Der Service sehr nett und animierend Ich komme wieder.

Das Schnitzel mit Blaubeerschmand war sehr gut, die Bedienung sehr freundlich und das essen sehr zügig am Tisch.

Ein wunderschöner anlaufpunkt leute. Uriges und sehr freundliches Restaurant. Geniale Hausmannskost mit super service 🤗 Parkplätze sind im altmarktflair umliegend vorhanden. Gern mal wieder bei noch wärmeren Temperaturen 🤭🤗 draussen Achja und preisleistung absolut 💯

Gute Portionen fürs Geld, war lecker

Gemütliche Gaststube mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Ein toller Ort zum verweilen. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Auch überraschende 8 Personen ohne lange Wartezeiten und alle gleichzeitig mit leckerem Essen versorgt - top!

Waren am Dienstag per Zufall dort. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen auch unsere Hunde. Meine Frau hatte backfisch und ich wildgulasch mit Nudeln, beides sehr lecker. Waren bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Gemütliches deutsches Gasthaus mit kreativ gestalteten Klassikern. Ich hatte z. B. ein Schnitzel mit Senf und Harzkäse. Übersichtliche Karte mit einem überschaubaren Angebot, dafür aber alles frisch und sehr lecker. Außerdem liegt die Gaststätte direkt am schmucken Ortskern, sodass alles gleich viel gemütlicher wirkt. Gerade nach einer Wanderung durchs Selketal absolut empfehlenswert, hier einzukehren. Gutem Appetit!

Ein schönes Restaurant mit sehr freundlichen Personal.

Tolle und Freund Bedienung. Schaffte Platz für 8 Personen. 4 Erwachsene und 4 Kinder. Jeder ist fündig geworden. Das ausgewählte Essen war Super lecker. Die Currywurst hätte eine bessere Soße verdient. Die Hausgemachte Sülze mega lecker. Die Pommes große Portion und ganz frisch und heiß. Die Bedienung war super freundlich auch ein kurzes Schwätzchen nicht abgeneigt.

Wir waren im Februar zu Gast. Das Essen war sehr lecker, wie man es von einer guten Gaststätte kennt. Die Bedienung war sehr herzlich und ging auch auf die Wünsche der Kinder ein. Man fühlt sich einfach gut aufgehoben. Bitte unbedingt alles so belassen, wie es ist.

Man macht an sich nichts falsch. Ich hatte ein großen Pott Kaffee und ein großes Würzfleisch. Kaffee und Essen wurde sehr schnell gebracht. Dekoriert war das Essen super. Mir persönlich war das Würzfleisch nur etwas zu dünn. Service ist freundlich aber halt direkt. Was ich aber gut finde. Parkplatz gibt es genau vor der Tür. Aber an sich passt es.

Wir waren gestern Abend zum Essen dort. Ich hatte mir vom Optischen her nicht so viel davon erhofft, aber ich wurde sehr positiv überrascht. Das Schnitzel war riesig, die Bratkartoffeln und das Spiegelei sehr lecker und zudem gut gewürzt. Es gab als Beilage selbstgemachten Bohnen- und Blumenkohlsalat, beides atemberaubend lecker! Sehr zu empfehlen! Auch die Bedienung war sehr zuvorkommend, lustig und super lieb!

We had planned to enjoy a relaxing coffee break at the Marktklause café with coffee and cake. After the waitress asked if we wanted to eat, we said we just wanted coffee and a slice of cake. To our surprise, however, no cake was offered; the menu only listed waffles in various styles and apple strudel. So we opted for an espresso, waffles with powdered sugar, and an apricot punch. The drinks arrived quickly, but they were disappointing in terms of taste: the espresso wasn't even made in the available coffee machine. Instead, it tasted like a brewed instant cappuccino with vanilla flavoring and had little in common with a real espresso. The apricot punch tasted like a simple instant drink from East German times – at least it was hot. The waffles were freshly baked, but very dry and prepared without any sugar, which unfortunately detracted significantly from the enjoyment. Overall, our visit unfortunately did not meet our expectations for a coffee break. The service was friendly, but the food and drinks offered were not convincing. Too bad...

After reading the reviews, we arrived without high expectations... The ambiance is a bit dated but authentic. The waitress was articulate but friendly and competent. On Saturday, we all ordered a schnitzel and an apricot hot drink with added alcohol, as recommended by the waitress. It was really delicious... The schnitzel was high quality and the fried potatoes were fresh from the pan. 👍 All in all, excellent value for money.

The portion size of the baked feta cheese was that of an appetizer, so it took an additional portion of fries to satisfy my appetite. My husband had a schnitzel that was dripping with oil. He had to pat it dry on both sides with a napkin. The server was informed that the quality of the food was poor (the fried potatoes were too soft and turned into mush), but unfortunately, she reacted unprofessionally to the criticism with an immediate change in demeanor, as if she had personally cooked the meal. I always find such reactions very disappointing, as neutrality is crucial. Nothing was done about the price. No concessions. No apology. The fries were also added to the bill, even though the main course was far too small. During our vacation, we were able to talk to locals about this restaurant, who confirmed that the food is not recommended and that only tourists eat there. Save your money, because they won't accommodate you if there are any problems! Addendum to the response: What choice did my husband have but to eat it all? On a Monday, no other restaurants were open, and after a hike, we were too exhausted to cook. You readily accept this "argument" without considering the individual circumstances. And the claim that other guests found the portion size of the sheep's cheese dish sufficient is a blatant lie! Especially since the server confirmed to us that it was too small!

Stopped in spontaneously today. Very tasty, very friendly, thank you very much. 🤗

Good food at a very reasonable price

Delicious, home-style food at a really good price. I'll probably stop by again.

Small but good restaurant. Delicious food and friendly service. Great value for money. It's just too far away, but we'll keep it in mind for our next visit to the region.

We thought we'd give it a try. A nice ambiance doesn't necessarily make for good food. Sometimes rustic, even in the way we treat people, is the best. Unfortunately, we were proven wrong. What we were served was absolutely abysmal. We ate what Puls had, simply for ethical reasons. But the half-burnt fried fish, with a remoulade, I don't even know what that was, along with dry boiled potatoes and a salad... or whatever that is. Then the so-called schnitzel, centimeters thick, with the water running out. Then they threw those pieces of bell pepper over both dishes... Simply the worst thing I've ever had in a restaurant.

It's a good place to stop for a short break. Everything is clean and nice.

I've booked dinner for my after-party on September 13th. So far, I'm happy with the price, etc.

Since the weather was nice, we sat outside and enjoyed a delicious cream puff with vanilla ice cream and cherries. The service was very good. They offer a variety of schnitzels every Saturday for €13.50. It's fantastic 👍

We ate here four times during our vacation. Friendly service, short wait times, and fair prices. Our recommendation: schnitzel topped with Harzer cheese and fried potatoes!

The schnitzel with mustard and Harzer cheese was very good; I hadn't experienced anything like it. The waitress was very warm and helpful. I sat outside, but the beer hall felt cozy and inviting.

We spontaneously went to the Marktlause for dinner this week without a reservation. Being a vegetarian in the heart of the Harz Mountains isn't easy, so we were all the more delighted with the very (!) delicious vegetarian fried potatoes. They also offered one or two other meatless dishes! Great, keep it up. 😇

We've been traveling to Harzgerode for many years and enjoy stopping at the Marktklause. The food is always freshly prepared, plentiful, and delicious. The service is friendly and takes the time to please guests.

Never had the food on the table so quickly. The service was quick and friendly. The decor was somewhat sober. Two stars are deducted for the food. One for the fact that there was no chicken or turkey on the menu. The second because a schnitzel was raw and red on the inside.

We were in the area yesterday on a whim and were treated to a delicious meal. The staff was super friendly, too. If we're ever in the area again, it's definitely worth a visit.

Five of us came here spontaneously, and I have to say, it was absolutely fantastic. The service was super friendly and very homely. The food was huge and incredibly delicious. We sat a little further back in the restaurant, which, in addition to the cozy atmosphere, also gave us a certain sense of peace. All in all, a fantastic experience. Wir wurden herzlich aufgenommen. Was hier im Harz selten geworden ist. Da wir schon oft hier Urlaub gemacht haben. Die Wirtin...ein Urgestrin...das Essen...selbst gemachteSülze mit Bratkartoffeln super lecker sagt meine Partnerin...ich Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und Spiegelei...einfach nur lecker.. mit 2 kleinen Bierchen und ner grossen Fassbrause 39,- Euro. Fazit: Super nett, gutes Essen, preiswert. Danke weiter so.

By chance I stopped by today and had a really wonderful lentil soup and the spiced meat was also really wonderful. The waitress was super friendly, if I'm in Harzgerode again I'll definitely come back.

Yesterday we had dinner at the Marktklause. A good home cooking. Since I have a lot of intolerances, we always look at the menus for the time being. Since one thing was unclear to us, we asked the waitress on site and had little hope. But the cook noticed all of this and made suggestions so that I could eat there. It was so kind and caring that she made me something that I tolerated. I didn't want to cause any trouble at all, but she said that it wasn't any trouble and that she would do what they had anyway! I have never experienced something so lovely because I always feel bad and am afraid of causing trouble. It was nice to realize that you simply “aren’t the problem”. Thanks for that!!

Just the thing when you're traveling with 2 children, the weather outside is shitty and everyone is really hungry and thirsty. Everyone was very nice and the food was delicious. Thanks to the team.

We received a very friendly welcome. The service was really great. The lady who served us was absolutely great. On the one hand we had the schnitzel with fried egg and fried potatoes and some salad and on the other hand, Schnitzel with seasoned meat and gratinated with cheese including fried potatoes and some salad. The food was delicious and more than enough. We're here for another week. We'll definitely come back again. Highly recommended.

Went there for a spontaneous meal after a hike. Schnitzel, omelet, ice cream. Service attentive and friendly, we sat comfortably outside. The food was great, nothing exotic, but fresh, with good taste and in good portions. It was just right for the moment. I particularly found the fried potatoes with the schnitzel very tasty.

We chose this because we could sit outside with a view of the beautiful market square. Nice service also came very quickly. We decided on ice cream and apple strudel. Both came very quickly. The ice cream sundae was huge and worth the price, the apple strudel was a bit expensive for the small piece, but very tasty. We would definitely come back again.

Der Service war wirklich sehr zügig, die Kellnerin nett und freundlich.

Das Essen war super lecker, allerdings etwas unausgeglichen was den Gemüse zu Fleisch Anteil getrifft.

Kaffee schön heiß, Apfelstrudel selbst gemacht ? Super lecker. Wir saßen im hinteren Gastraum der leider etwas kalt war.

Gestern gegen 18.30 zum Essen. Freundliche Bedienung durch die Wirtin. Unser Essen, trotz vollem Restaurant, relativ schnell serviert bekommen. Schnitzel, Steak und für den Junior Currywurst. Grundsolide Hausmannskost, alles frisch zubereitet. Preise gehen völlig in Ordnung. Weiter so ....

Für das Essen ziehe ich einen Punkt ab. Laut Karte wurden zum Schnitzel Champions angeboten, die ich auch bestellt habe. Es gab jedoch Waldpilze. Viele mögen diese Pilze sehr gern, ich jedoch nicht. Wenn man mich vorher darauf hingewiesen hätte, hätte ich sie nicht bestellt. Ansonsten war das Essen schmackhaft und auch vollkommen ausreichend.

Sehr nette Bedienung, die alles daran setzte alle Gäste unter zu bringen. Das Preise Leistungsverhältnis hat auch gestimmt.

Sehr schönes, bürgerliches Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen. Preis-Leistung top. Essen kam heiß und sehr schnell nach der Bestellung. Sehr zu empfehlen. Für unsere Kinder wurde jeweils eine halbe Portion des Gerichts gemacht, mit kleiner Überraschung. Ein kleiner Minuspunkt: nur Barzahlung. Wir würden immer wieder dorthin gehen. Schön neben den Rathaus.
