We actually wanted to eat in the restaurant, but unfortunately, there were no seats available—which speaks volumes about the popularity of this pizzeria. We spontaneously decided to order pizza to go and were absolutely thrilled. The taste was fantastic, the dough perfect, and the ingredients fresh. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Passau—hopefully with a table there, too.

Centrally located on Residenzplatz. Seating is available opposite the entrance. Unfortunately, it took a very long time to place an order. You had to fetch your own cutlery. The pizza was standard, at the usual prices.

In my 27 years of life, I've tried many pizzas – but none as good as this one! The taste, quality, and dough are simply unbeatable. Add to that the super nice, attentive, and friendly service. We'll definitely be back – highly recommended in a wonderful location! 🤩

Excellent pizza with high-quality ingredients! I had the Pizza Luise with buffalo mozzarella and Parma ham. I was particularly impressed by the very aromatic tomato sauce. They also serve homemade garlic and chili oil at your table. I tried the former and liked it too 🤤 The wine, which I was even allowed to try because I was undecided, was also good. I think the prices are fair considering the quality offered. The service warned me right from the start that it might take a while - great! However, I wasn't upset about it for a moment, considering the beautiful location by the cathedral - the ambiance is simply a dream! It was a beautiful, cheerful summer evening - thank you for that!

Amazing! The best pizza I've ever eaten!!! We ordered Helena, Julius, and Emilia from Mari yesterday to kick off the Whitsun weekend in Passau. The dough, the toppings, and the atmosphere at Residenzplatz were wonderful. Even our five-year-old daughter ate three-quarters of a pizza in one sitting! We'd love to come back!

We visited this restaurant on a recommendation – supposedly, it has the best pizza in Passau. Unfortunately, we couldn't quite confirm that impression. Upon arrival, we were assigned a high table, just large enough for two pizzas and two drinks. Unfortunately, the table wasn't wiped down, nor was it set with cutlery or napkins. Ordering took forever, as did the wait for food and drinks – at times, you honestly felt a bit forgotten. On top of that, there was a significant infestation of fruit flies – obviously not the staff's fault (no one can do anything about the weather), but still annoying when the flies constantly fly into your drinks. The pizzas themselves were okay, but rather average in our opinion – visually appealing, though! We were only given cutlery when it was served – but only one (!) set for two people. Since no server paid any attention to us, I ended up having to go to the next table to ask for more cutlery. Even a quick inquiry to see if everything was okay didn't respond. When leaving (after paying), there was no "goodbye," no "have a nice evening"—nothing. It's a shame, because it's precisely these little things that often make the difference to the overall experience.

The pizzas are truly amazing and of high quality. The crust is light and crispy right down to the last bite, and the ingredients are flavorful. The chili oil also went very well with it and was delicious. The service and atmosphere were also great! Definitely a recommended pizzeria! The restrooms are located a bit downhill from the restaurant, and the wait for the pizzas was considerable, but it was worth it because the taste was excellent!

Super delicious pizza! I stumbled upon this place by chance; it's a truly holiday-like atmosphere on Residenzplatz next to the Wittelsbach Fountain! If you like pizza and have the chance, you should come here! It felt like I was eating in Rome, only the service and the pizza were better!

Excellent pizza! More expensive by our standards, but light crispy dough, good sugo, excellent dried ham and buffalo mozzarella. We got Luisa, great satisfaction.

Were in Passau after Easter, the pizza is a hit. The dough is already worth a visit. The pizza was at the table quickly, even though it was full, and the waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. The visit was really a pleasure.

The pizzas are incredibly good. The two of us ate 3 pizzas because they were so good.

We ate here for the first time this weekend and we really enjoyed it. First of all, the square at Residenzplatz is really nice and then the pizzas also tasted very good. We had pizza prosciutto once and pizza with tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella, which I found exceptionally good. Rarely have I had such a good pizza. There were also 2 light ones. In total we paid around €36, which is cheap and the service was very nice. We'll be back soon!

It's a little too thin in the middle for my taste and a little too lightly topped, but maybe that was just the case with my pizza. The atmosphere at Residenzplatz is also beautiful! One of - if not the - best pizza we’ve ever had (and we spend a lot of time in Italy)! Besides the delicious pizza the service was warm, welcoming and speedy and we struck up a great chat with one of the owner’s friends who had loaned art work created by his late grandfather to decorate the place. So glad we stumbled on this place. We had a fantastic evening, well worth a visit!

We ended up here by chance and the beautiful terrace immediately appealed to us. It's really a nice place that gives you that holiday feeling, which is an absolute plus. The inside is also very attractive and beautiful. Our pizzas were very tasty, there is nothing to complain about at all. However, there is still room for improvement when it comes to service. The girls were nice, but there seemed to be little structure. It was a bit chaotic and you had to wait a long time for certain things or ask questions one or more times. For example, we waited over 20 minutes for our espresso at the end and then got it straight from the bar because we were under a bit of time pressure. We also ended up organizing our own cutlery. Maybe we can improve something there, then the basis would certainly be good for the future :-)

Really good Italian pizza, great staff and great atmosphere. Probably even better on the terrace in summer, unfortunately a little cramped in winter, but the huge selection of wines more than makes up for that. We will be back definitely!

Die mit Abstand beste Pizza Passaus!

Die Idee gut, die Umsetzung MANGELHAFT!!! POSITIV waren lediglich die 2 Servicekräfte, welche wirklich sehr freundlich, jedoch auch wirklich überfordert waren, bei ca. 38Terrassengästen?! Und der Speisekarte mit 6!!! Gerichten!!! Auf unsere Weinschorle warteten wir 25min, in dieser Zeit verließen ein Pärchen, die wurden schlichtweg übersehen, ihre Sitzplätze! Wir bestellten Pizza Salamipiccante und warteten erneut 70min?! In dieser Zeit verließen 2 weitere Pärchen die Terrasse, OHNE Bewirtung!!! Die mit 6!!! Scheiben Salami belegte Pizza ist mit 12.80€, auch auf dem Residenzplatz, sicherlich einer der schönsten Plätze in Passau, schlichtweg überteuert!!! Selbst Gastronom, musste ich beim bezahlen noch darauf hinweisen, daß wir vier u. nicht drei Getränke hatten, stellt sich mir die Frage: Wer zur Hölle macht sich auf dieser Basis und mit soviel Unwissen selbstständig, in der heutigen Zeit??? Hierhin werden wir defently nichtmehr kommen!!!

Under this new ownership of Chef Mari, the already good Pizza at former "Schwarze Traube" even got better. Way better.... I would not only say, its the best Pizza in Passau, but one of the best I ever had. You can truly taste that Chef Mari loves what he does, and that there is so so much thought behind his recipe. The Pizza isnt soggy, the Dough is still dough-y though, but also crunchy in the right places, the sauce is amazing (and it doesnt overpower the other ingredients) and all the toppings, are fresh and of good qualitiy. And of course the athmosphere at Residenzplatz is truly amazing as well. You can be sure, that whenerver I manage to put in a reservation (which is a must!!!), you'll find me there with a Parma e Rucola. Or a Buffala... Maybe i should try one of the vagan ones next?! ... Anyways - just go there and enjoy amazing Pizza, good Drinks and a beautiful location!

Einfach schön hier. Super Pizza, super Wein, nette Kellner*innen und der Inhaber ist sich auch nicht zu fein, für ein nettes Gespräch an den Tisch zu kommen. Ich werde wieder kommen und wieder genießen.

Die Karte ist klein aber fein, mehr ist auch nicht notwendig. Die Pizza besticht allein durch den selbst gemachten würzig, bekömmlichen Hefeteig und einer köstlichen Tomatenbasis. Fluffig leicht mit krosser Kruste - definitiv die beste Pizza Passaus.

An einem Abend im Oktober sind wir nach einem Konzert eher zufällig in den kleinen erleuchteten Laden gestolpert. Und geblieben. Haben ein paar Weine verkostet, frisches Brot serviert bekommen, die Atmosphäre genossen, mit dem Team geplaudert und mit Weinempfehlungen und ein paar Flaschen unterm Arm diesen kleinen feinen Ort, den es sich absolut lohnt zu besuchen, froh verlassen. Ein super Lokal mit einer hervorragenden Vinothek mit Schwerpunkt Naturweine, wo Bio im Vordergrund steht und auch gelebt wird! Die Speisen und Getränke kann man Vorort konsumieren und auch mitnehmen, sehr zu empfehlen.

Als Biersommelier empfehle ich die Schwarze Traube ohne Einschränkung! Da bin ich bald wieder zu Gast!

Mit Abstand beste Pizzar in Passau, uns ist ein Stück runtergefallen, wir haben’s trotzdem gegessen, von diesem legendären Gedicht von belegtem Fladenbrot darf nichts verloren gehen. 10/10

Stopped by here for a quick lunch, and loved the beppe, salami, and Classico pizza. Everyone at the table agreed it was some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. Our waitress was very sweet and welcoming. Drinks are spectacular. We highly recommend this place, very delicious!! 💥💥

Endlich wurde das „EssStudio“ zur „Schwarzen Traube“ und der Name wird der Lokalität somit gerecht. Spitzenweine und tolle Aperitivi - mein Favorit dieses Jahr ist ganz klar der Bergfink, der pfeift ordentlich rein! Nebenbei noch an einem der schönsten Plätze Passaus geniale Sauerteigpizzen genießen. Was kann es schöneres geben?
