In 2022 I was here for the first time - then under a different tour. The - by far - best grill plate (No. 30) that I have ever eaten !!! Gyros, skewers and minced steak - all super seasoned, with roasted aromas and all juicy. Father and son are super warm and really care about the guests... The cuisine is still great, but the hospitality has noticeably cooled down under the new management. Getting a table in the back area is no longer possible - I have hyperacusis after 2 double hearing losses and it's too loud in the front area - the landlord's justifications varied from "I'm eating right there!" to "Only until 8 p.m.!"... but even though we were there between 5 and 6 p.m., a table in the back was unfortunately not an option. What a shame!

We were warmly welcomed into an incredibly beautiful and lovingly furnished tavern, the menu left nothing to be desired and vegetarians also got their money's worth! We were lucky enough to be able to reserve a table there at short notice and received a very warm welcome shortly afterwards. Our waitress looked after us very well, was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. The food was really delicious. No matter what we ordered, everything was delicious. The tzatziki, the taramas and all the main dishes are really the finest. You don't sit in a very warm atmosphere. (There is a beautiful LED fireplace on one wall) We now have a new regular restaurant and are looking forward to your next visit!

Tolle Ansprache der Gäste, zusammen mit seiner Frau und seiner Mannschaft rocken sie das Restaurant . Meine Kollegen und ich waren begeistert. Freundlich ,witzig ,humorvoll ,schnell und das mit kleiner Mannschaft und vollen Lokal.DasEssen? Super , fantastisch.Das Fleisch, der Salat , die Beilagen alles super ! Ich kann dieses Lokal sehr empfehlen, hier wird mit Herz gearbeitet .Das spürst du in der Atmosphäre und auf dem Teller. The restaurant was taken over in 2023 by a couple who had previously run a restaurant in Bramfeld. Small renovations were carried out so that more seats are now available. The rooms are bright and friendly furnished. A terrace with parasols is available in summer. The quality of the food has increased again. In some cases, special features are listed on a separate menu. The “boss” creates the desserts, which are always worth trying. For our family, this Greek is one of the best in town. Reservations are advantageous, but not mandatory. You feel like you are a friend of the family, which is part of the restaurant's special charm. Old owner (until 2022) Good selection of dishes (both fish, meat and vegetarian). Delicious starters and various types of beer and wine round off the meal. Normally priced. Friendly service, special requests are also fulfilled (if possible). The obligatory ouzo in advance is free and there is also a small (free) dessert. Totally recommended!

A real culinary delight and always worth a visit

So what can you say the Restaurant Marathon is one of the best restaurants I have visited recently. We came from Saarbrücken and stayed overnight here in Hamburg at the Ökotel, which is also recommended, and then went to the Marathon restaurant in the evening, so it was anything but strange, because this restaurant is really great, very very friendly owners, really warm, incredibly great The operation is noticed by regular guests and really wonderfully tasty, priced in a lower range that is pleasant and the quality does not have to be lowered. Unfortunately we don't live in Hamburg, but in Saarbrücken, but if we can somehow, we will visit this restaurant again. We wish the owner and his wife and daughter and also the whole team all the best for the future and a lot of work, work, work, work 🥳 This is really written from the bottom of my heart because it is actually written by the owner and his team warmly, we felt very, very comfortable, highly recommended, but you should keep in mind. The restaurant opens on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. and you should have reserved in advance from 7:00 p.m. at the latest. Grill plate 33 with the classic red rice was sensational. The meat is juicy and tender, not overly seasoned, as is the case with some other Greeks. The rice was super tasty and the portion was decent even for a grown man. What I found even more remarkable was the incredibly warm service. It's definitely not the last time I've been here

I would also give it 6 stars! Toula and Alex were already gifted restaurateurs at Alexandros on the Bramfelder because they live hospitality with passion, humor and heart! I'm very happy that the two of them have found a new place of work in the marathon and we finally have "Our Greek" back! The restaurant is decorated in a subtle Greek style and is not kitschy and overloaded. Quiet family celebrations can also take place in the back area and when it gets warmer, it's ideal to sit outside. It was very busy last night and luckily we had a reservation. The food was delicious as usual, decent portions - whether it was a starter or a main course. The feta from the daily menu came with fruity fig jam, the gyros was juicy and crispy, the fillet skewer was very, very tender. For dessert there was a delicacy that is second to none - unique taste! Ouzo is also mandatory 🙂 I can only recommend to everyone: go there! The two great people are back ❤️

Very clean and tidy, polite and friendly, fast service. Toilets clean and modern. Unfortunately no own parking spaces. The food was ok, large portions, but the taste was a bit too flat for me. As usual, an ouzo from the house. Prices in the normal range.

We are now regular customers at this restaurant. This is due to this super great, nice and lovely team in service, as well as behind the counter and in the kitchen. The food is bombastic. Here you feel at home and in good hands. The dessert is amazing there. Just try. You will not regret it.

Wir sind auf Empfehlung von einem Freund zum Abendessen eingekehrt. Leider ist die Atmosphäre nicht einladend, zu hell, viel zu laut und wacklige Stühle. Das Essen war von den Portionen ausreichend. Leider war es sehr versalzen und das Gyros war zu fettig. Das Zaziki war wie aus dem Supermarkt, also nichts Besonderes. Die Bedingung war freundlich, aber nicht aufmerksam. Alle Gläser waren leer und man musste sich aufzwingen, um etwas neues zu bekommen. Leider wurden von vier Runden Ouzos eine Runde berechnet. Wer ein gemeinsames Erlebnis sucht, sollte diese Gaststätte meiden.

Sehr gutes familiengeführtes Lokal. Leckeres Essen und wirklich aufmerksame sowie freundliche Bedienung. Ein Gedicht war die Pinienkern-Dattelsoße zum Lammfilet und die Babysepia.

Wir waren das erste Mal mit Freunden hier im Restaurant und waren alle 4 voll begeistert. Alle 4 unterschiedliche Speisen waren auf dem Punkt zubereitet, die Vorspeisen auch sehr lecker. Und die Leber, bekommt man bestimmt nicht überall noch rosé und zart serviert. Das ganze wurde humorvoll und freundlich serviert. Ganz klarer Fall, wir kommen gerne wieder!!!

Sehr leckes Essen und der Nachtisch von der Chefin ist der absolute Hammer!!

Für mich persönlich ganz hervorragend, Personal und Essen ist super und sehr bemüht.

Die Begrüßung, haben wir so in dieser Form noch nicht erlebt! Die erste Frage, ob der Hund hart, es ist sehr schwer den Tepich zu reinigen und wir sollten eine Decke mitbringen!? Sorry, mach doch ein Schild an die Tür, Hunde unerwünscht! Das Ambiente ist schlicht und wenig gemütlich, die Beleuchtung ist viel zu Hell! Wir hatten Sardellen und zwei Creme's. Die Fische waren sehr gut, deshalb 3 Sterne, Wer öfter beim Griechen essen geht, weis das Tarama und Tirosalata besser schmecken kann. Beim Griechen z.B. in Ellerbek und in der Osterstrasse kann man diese Dinge besser genießen! Unser Fazit, mal dagewesen kommen nicht wieder!

Wir haben auf der Terrasse gegessen. Das Ambiente war dahingehend eher schlecht da wir von Bewohnern über dem Restaurant beobachtet wurden. Auch die Bahnstation der Nähe gelegenen AKN führte nicht zu einem Positiven Ambiente. Das Essen war nicht sehr schlecht, aber meiner Meinung nach sein Geld nicht Wert. Da gibt es leider deutlich bessere Restaurants. Durch den freundlichen Service des Inhabers war es ein einigermaßen angenehmer Abend. Es war eine nette Erfahrung Mal wieder ein neues Restaurant auszuprobieren. Aber dabei wird es auch bleiben. Ich habe für mich entschieden hier nicht wieder essen zu gehen. Jeder sollte sich sein eigenes Bild machen. Da einiges in so einem Unternehmen auch Tagesform abhängig ist!

Als Stammgast des früheren Lokals Alexandros kann ich nur selig sagen, weiter so. Die Location am Roman-Zeller-Platz mit direkten m Övpn Anschluß Burgwedel ist mit den schönen verkehrsberuhigten Außenplätzen noch besser geworden und ein großes Plus! Der Service ist so herrlich liebevoll wie gewohnt. Ich komme definitiv wieder.... immer wieder😍

Eine warme und einladende Atmosphäre begrüßte uns, sobald wir das Restaurant betraten. Das freundliche Personal sorgte sofort dafür, dass ich mich wohl fühlte und ging auf meine Bedürfnisse ein. Das Lamm, das ich bestellt habe, war ausgezeichnet. Zart, saftig und perfekt zubereitet ist es ein Fest für die Sinne. Die Köstlichkeit des Hammelfleischs war außergewöhnlich. Die Gewürze und Kräuter waren perfekt ausbalanciert und entsprachen genau meinen Erwartungen. Jeder Bissen war ein Genuss! Die Küche ist wirklich sehr gut! Vor dem Essen gab es Ouzo aufs Haus. Der Service war ausgezeichnet. Das Personal war aufmerksam, freundlich und gab sein Bestes, sodass es uns an nichts fehlte. Meine Bestellung wurde prompt angenommen und das Essen wurde zügig und ohne Qualitätsverlust serviert. Mein Tisch wurde regelmäßig abgeräumt und ich fühlte mich sehr gut aufgehoben. Die Atmosphäre beim „Marathon“ war familiär und angenehm. Die griechische Musik im Hintergrund trug zur Authentizität des Erlebnisses bei und ließ uns die griechische Kultur noch mehr genießen. Ich kann das Restaurant „Marathon“ wirklich empfehlen. Besonders perfekt für diejenigen, die den authentischen Geschmack griechischer Gerichte suchen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Der Besuch hat sich gelohnt, wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Nette Atmosphäre, freundliche Bedienung, leckeres Essen. Preise sind angehoben worden bzw. die Portionen sind kleiner oder es wird an anderer Stelle etwas gespart aber das ist nicht nur hier so. Alles im Allen aber einen Besuch wert. Uns gefällt es immer, noch nie etwas zu beanstanden gehabt. Preisniveau im Mittelfeld würde ich meinen, es gibt auf jeden Fall noch teurere Griechen in Schnelsen.

Das Restaurant hat seit dem 01.05.2023 neue Besitzer. Man wird herzlich begrüßt und fühlt sich gleich ab der ersten Sekunde wohl. Mega Service, erstklassiges Essen, alles wird frisch zubereitet. Man schmeckt sofort dass hier mit frischer und erstklassiger Ware gekocht wird. Sowohl drinnen als auch draussen sind ausreichend Sitzplätze vorhanden. Vorspeisen, Hauptspeisen, Nachtisch -- alles ist MEGGGAAAAAAAAA. Die Teller sind gut gefüllt, der Preis stimmt hier auch. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

2x Preise rauf in diesem Jahr war noch verständlich , nach Inhaberwechsel aber nochmal wieder die Preise anzuheben und das in diesem Maße ist mir zu viel. Steht das wirklich noch im Verhältnis? Es nimmt mir die Freude als Stammgast weiterhin regelmäßig dort essen zu gehen. Schade, es hatte uns dort immer sehr gefallen. Die Preise waren gehoben aber noch akzeptabel. Das Essen hat immer sehr gut geschmeckt.

Ein ganz nettes griechisches Restaurant, das bereits am frühen Nachmittag geöffnet hat und bei dem man bei gutem Wetter auch draußen sitzen kann. Das Essen und die Portionen sind o.k.. Geschmacklich ist noch Luft nach oben, Das Gyros war recht fettdurchsetzt, das sonstige Fleisch aber gut. Im Tzaziki (5,50 €!) fehlte Knoblauch oder zumindest war er nicht zu schmecken. Preise wurden angehoben und sind nicht gerade günstig (z.B. Lammsuflaki 20,90 und Grillteller 17,90). Insgesamt also eine runde Sache, die man leider nicht mehr mehrfach im Monat machen kann.

Das ist fortan die neue Gaststätte des früheren Wirtes des renommierten Alexandros in Barmbek, Alekos Kapouranis. Dort war ich einst Stammgast. Insofern bin ich sicher, dass es hier nun genauso herzlich und familiär wird wie zuvor in Barmbek.

Unglaublich leckeres Essen! Außerdem haben wir selten so freundliches Personal erlebt und uns auf Anhieb so wohl gefühlt. Alle Daumen hoch!!!

Wollten Freitag im Restaurant mal wieder Essen gehen.!! Erster Schock NEUE BEWIRTUNG. Laden war nur halb voll. Nach kurzer Wartezeit das Essen bestellt das nach fast einer Stunde auf den Tisch kam. Essen immer noch sehr lecker. Getränke dauerten auch etwas länger. Leer gegessene Teller standen ungewöhlich lange auf den Tischen. Obwohl der Service immer in Bewegung war. Der ganze Ablauf war sehr Chaotisch und Wirr.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Der hintere Bereich ist eher dominiert von den "Barfreunden", die sich laut und herzlich amüsieren. Hinten geht es auch zur Raucherecke. Wenn man etwas Ruhe haben möchte, sitzt man lieber im vorderen Bereich. Dort wird man auch eher beachtet, wenn man noch etwas benötigt. Der Service war sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Restaurant ist sauber und gemütlich. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an Gerichten, sogar Seniorenteller. Das Fleisch war sehr gut gewürzt und saftig. Die Pommes in ihrer besonderen Form knusprig und lecker. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut. Gerne wieder.
