Das ist fortan die neue Gaststätte des früheren Wirtes des renommierten Alexandros in Barmbek, Alekos Kapouranis. Dort war ich einst Stammgast. Insofern bin ich sicher, dass es hier nun genauso herzlich und familiär wird wie zuvor in Barmbek.

Outstanding Greek cuisine, in all courses! And the changing dessert menu, if you have a little room, is also amazing! Very nice interior. Neither over the top nor boring. Everything was to our taste! I would recommend reserving a table if necessary. The bus and AKN (train station) are in the immediate vicinity.

We have gotten to know a few owners over the last 15 years, they were/are all nice, quality and quantity have deteriorated a lot and the prices have been raised extremely, e.g. Shrimp reduced from 9 to 6...you can now find them in the vegetable (main course) lamb plate difference to many other Greeks in price at 3/4 € difference, quantity more 👎

Prices have risen sharply and portions have been reduced....I don't think it's possible to combine both.... Owners are nice....it's clean there too....came just before opening time, about 5 minutes, the opening times were pointed out, but in the background there were about 4 guests who drink there regularly...that's not possible

I visited here for the first time in 2022 – back then under different management. The – by FAR – best grilled platter (No. 30) I've ever eaten!!! Gyros, skewers, and minced steak – all perfectly seasoned, with roasted flavors, and all juicy. Father and son were super welcoming and genuinely concerned about their guests... The kitchen is still top-notch, but the hospitality has noticeably cooled under the new management. Getting a table in the back is no longer possible – I have hyperacusis after two double hearing loss episodes, and it's too loud in the front area for me... The owner's explanations varied from "I'm eating there right now!" to "Only until 8 p.m.!"... but even though we were there between 5 and 6 p.m., a table in the back was unfortunately not an option. What a shame!

The food is very good, effort is put into cooking, very hospitable, great value for money. We always enjoy coming here.

We will definitely come back. Service very friendly and accommodating. Starters, main course and dessert were sensational. The pork fillet melted in your mouth. What deserves special praise is the dessert with angel hair (Christmas special). The visit is definitely worth it.

We were lucky enough to be able to reserve a table there at short notice and received a very warm welcome shortly afterwards. Our waitress looked after us very well, was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. The food was really delicious. No matter what we ordered, everything was delicious. The tzatziki, the taramas and all the main dishes are really the finest. You don't sit in a very warm atmosphere. (There is a beautiful LED fireplace on one wall) We now have a new regular restaurant and are looking forward to your next visit!

Freundlich ,witzig ,humorvoll ,schnell und das mit kleiner Mannschaft und vollen Lokal.DasEssen? Super , fantastisch.Das Fleisch, der Salat , die Beilagen alles super ! Ich kann dieses Lokal sehr empfehlen, hier wird mit Herz gearbeitet .Das spürst du in der Atmosphäre und auf dem Teller. The restaurant was taken over in 2023 by a couple who had previously run a restaurant in Bramfeld. Small renovations were carried out so that more seats are now available. The rooms are bright and friendly furnished. A terrace with parasols is available in summer. The quality of the food has increased again. In some cases, special features are listed on a separate menu. The “boss” creates the desserts, which are always worth trying. For our family, this Greek is one of the best in town. Reservations are advantageous, but not mandatory. You feel like you are a friend of the family, which is part of the restaurant's special charm. Old owner (until 2022) Good selection of dishes (both fish, meat and vegetarian). Delicious starters and various types of beer and wine round off the meal. Normally priced. Friendly service, special requests are also fulfilled (if possible). The obligatory ouzo in advance is free and there is also a small (free) dessert. Totally recommended!

So what can you say the Restaurant Marathon is one of the best restaurants I have visited recently. We came from Saarbrücken and stayed overnight here in Hamburg at the Ökotel, which is also recommended, and then went to the Marathon restaurant in the evening, so it was anything but strange, because this restaurant is really great, very very friendly owners, really warm, incredibly great The operation is noticed by regular guests and really wonderfully tasty, priced in a lower range that is pleasant and the quality does not have to be lowered. Unfortunately we don't live in Hamburg, but in Saarbrücken, but if we can somehow, we will visit this restaurant again. We wish the owner and his wife and daughter and also the whole team all the best for the future and a lot of work, work, work, work 🥳 This is really written from the bottom of my heart because it is actually written by the owner and his team warmly, we felt very, very comfortable, highly recommended, but you should keep in mind. The restaurant opens on Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. and you should have reserved in advance from 7:00 p.m. at the latest. Since we wanted to meet up with friends who were staying nearby, we stopped here for the first time after a quick reservation request. What can I say: Welcomed in a friendly manner with a handshake, top service, top food, atmosphere as well. As if you were part of the family. Any time again.

Grill plate 33 with the classic red rice was sensational. The meat is juicy and tender, not overly seasoned, as is the case with some other Greeks. The rice was super tasty and the portion was decent even for a grown man. What I found even more remarkable was the incredibly warm service. It's definitely not the last time I've been here

I would also give it 6 stars! Toula and Alex were already gifted restaurateurs at Alexandros on the Bramfelder because they live hospitality with passion, humor and heart! I'm very happy that the two of them have found a new place of work in the marathon and we finally have "Our Greek" back! The restaurant is decorated in a subtle Greek style and is not kitschy and overloaded. Quiet family celebrations can also take place in the back area and when it gets warmer, it's ideal to sit outside. It was very busy last night and luckily we had a reservation. The food was delicious as usual, decent portions - whether it was a starter or a main course. The feta from the daily menu came with fruity fig jam, the gyros was juicy and crispy, the fillet skewer was very, very tender. For dessert there was a delicacy that is second to none - unique taste! Ouzo is also mandatory 🙂 I can only recommend to everyone: go there! The two great people are back ❤️
