Unfortunately, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat, this is the place to go. But anyone expecting a bit of quality will be disappointed. If you ask for fresh fries, the customer is initially argued with, even though the prepared plate had been sitting on the counter for 10 minutes and the fries ordered with it were already cool.

I bought a Dürüm for €9.50 while passing through Bonn on October 1, 2025 – not because of the name, but because of its proximity to Bonn Central Station. The interaction/ordering takes place at a vending machine, which means that while you can select what you want in great detail, you might end up receiving the wrong order – as in my case. The man behind the counter wasn't particularly friendly, so, considering the time and departure time, I decided not to argue about the incorrect order and simply took it with me. Next time I'm in Bonn, I'll go to a different shop. Conclusion: I don't recommend it, but maybe others will like it.

Waited 1.5 hours for delivery. Both kebabs were delivered cold. One kebab was delivered with the wrong sauce, and the sauce was forgotten for the second kebab. Delivery charge €5.99 for a poor result.

When we ate there, we had to order via the terminal. Cool in itself, but ordering on a completely filthy monitor where 100 fingerprints are visible isn't particularly hygienic... Well, we ordered our doner kebab and one as a meal with fries. Both kebabs were COLD. Even the fries were served cold... The doner itself wasn't particularly tasty. More salad than meat in the bread. For almost €27 for two doner kebabs, two Cokes, and one fries, that's not particularly good value. And then such an overpriced doner kebab with exactly 30% meat and 70% salad. Isn't it normal that the doner kebab can be eaten cold?!? Really, very sad for our money and sad for our time.... So, I can't recommend the doner kebab and the fries; you definitely disappointed me.

Today (October 1, 2025, around 2:30 p.m.) I ordered a meal (beef doner kebab with a drink) from this kebab shop in downtown Bonn. At first, it tasted really good – the doner kebab is actually delicious and fresh. But unfortunately, for the second time, I've found a hair in my kebab (see photo). That's just disgusting. It might happen once more, but if it happens again, it shows that something is seriously wrong with hygiene. It's a shame, because the doner kebab would actually taste great. But unfortunately, I'm giving it a definite downgrade. I really hope the team pays more attention to hygiene so something like this doesn't happen again.

I can't recommend this kebab restaurant in Bonn. The doner kebab is extremely dry and tastes absolutely terrible. The staff is rude and sometimes even shouts at customers—you really don't want to experience that while dining. Even worse: sweat occasionally drips from the staff into the food, which is simply disgusting. Eating here is truly a disgrace.

Never experienced such disrespectful service. And the kebab consisted of nothing but meat and bread. Unfortunately, it was way too expensive. Definitely not recommended!

I ate at Mangal Döner today and was very disappointed. Although the shop has been renovated, the work practices there are anything but hygienic. I observed several times that employees were wearing the same gloves both collecting money and preparing food – without changing them. They also changed garbage bags and then immediately served customers again, again without changing their gloves. This is absolutely unacceptable for a grocery store. Therefore, I unfortunately cannot recommend the shop and will not eat there again.

Huge portions and very filling. We got lahmacun with salad and chicken doner. The lahmacun was delicious and very filling, easy to share between two people. The doner was also filling but wasn’t anything special. The place does get busy but there’s a lot of seating inside

I swear I've never had such a dry and disgusting kebab. The vegetables tasted stale, there was barely any sauce in them, and the bread was crumbly and dry, as if it were a few days old. The meat was also incredibly dry.

Falafel Sandwich for less than 8 Euro . Perfect for anytime meal. Good sitting area.

We normally love the Mangal Döner, but at the beginning of the week we ordered a Döner that had hardly any sauce and hardly any meat :/ more like dry salad, what a shame.

Food was cold, fries were gone after the meal. Staff overwhelmed.

The staff can hardly speak German and speaks their native language the whole time. He also gave me a loaf of bread that wasn't even fresh. It fell apart while I was eating it. He didn't even give me the cash register receipt and after I paid he just walked away to make some jokes with his colleagues in his native language. The kebab was bad and not like it used to be. I've been eating here for a long time and now it's the worst time to eat here, be it the staff or the food. I won't come back until I see that something has changed. I hope something is done about it. Apart from that, it is unfortunately very unhygienic when I look at the way the staff behave. It's a shame to ruin the reputation of such a good shop.

After a long drive, we arrived at the store at 12:10 AM on September 8th and wanted to sit down and eat in peace until closing time at 1:00 AM, but we were simply asked to order and then take the food with us. I understand that they want to finish work on time, but I don't think it's right to block off the entire dining area with chairs. The counter also looks pretty unhygienic, which does somewhat diminish your appetite. As for the staff, well, their clothes look more like they've been drenched in sauce. Drinks are listed during the ordering process, but not on the premises. Management should pay more attention to this.

The kebab is tasty, but the hygiene in the shop spoils your appetite every time... Employees wipe the sweat from their foreheads with their hands before touching the bread, sometimes sweating so much that it drips onto the food. The tables and chairs are dirty, so I often lose my appetite... I don't eat there anymore and only go there during the colder months... I don't want to know what it's like back there when there's so little attention to hygiene up front.

You won't be served here 40 minutes before closing time.

Podolski used to serve fresh salad. Now they serve salad from a package. There are sometimes a lot of brown spots on the salad. It's a real shame. I also got a lot of rude comments because I wanted to pay by card. The first employee took my order and could have told me that card payments weren't accepted. The young man at the cash register was totally unfriendly and said, "I still need a card payment or something, and not cash." Either they explain that they don't accept card payments, or they can't refuse.

So I was there yesterday to eat kebab, first I ordered what I wanted via the monitor and was forced to pay with a card because the people at the counter were so unfriendly that they didn't want to take any orders even though the shop was empty and there weren't enough staff for anything. The beef was very dry, tasteless, bread like chewing gum. What was fresh was the salad, but the sauces were bahhh. The chile sauce tasted more than bad and not spicy and the cocktail sauce tasted spoiled, I will never go back, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who wants to eat good kebabs.

We were here on a Saturday during the Beethoven Festival, so we expected a lot of customers. However, the place seemed to be severely understaffed, as the employees were completely overwhelmed with the orders (I don't want to blame the on-site staff here, but rather the management). The employees therefore asked customers to order via the terminals instead of at the cash register. While I can understand this (this meant that a whole other employee could take care of filling the orders), the communication to customers was sometimes rather rude. Furthermore, only 2 of the 4 terminals were functional. The food, however, was excellent, as expected. However, based on the service experience, I'm sticking with this rating.

The staff was very unfriendly. They also closed about an hour early and gave me the middle finger. Yesterday's rotisserie seems to be the norm. Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else. Mc's is better than this crap.

Visiting Bonn during Gamescom, I tried the place out at my son's insistence. Ordering was easy at the terminals, there were free tables, and a short wait. I paid just over €20 for a dürüm and a vegetarian kebab. The interior wasn't particularly clean and it was very warm. The back area was bearable. My son enjoyed the dürüm, but my kebab still gives me a stomach ache today. And not just financially. There are much better alternatives in the area, both in terms of price and food.

I eat my kebab here every now and then; the location is great. The prices are very high. I find it annoying that they only accept card payments... it kind of gives you a McDonald's feel... The kebab itself tastes okay. The best thing about the shop is the staff, who are very courteous and friendly. In the summer, however, it's incredibly hot in the shop, almost unbearable. I don't know how the staff can handle it.

The kebab tastes good, and the ordering process is easy at the terminal. But some employees are very unfriendly and irritable. It's also incredibly hot inside. There's no air conditioning, or it simply doesn't work. With the heat outside plus the heat inside, you feel like you're in a sauna. But the worst thing were the restrooms. I wanted to wash my hands, and I saw urinals filled with urine and almost overflowing, and it smells and is very unhygienic. A restaurant that doesn't care about cleanliness in the restrooms isn't recommended, as it also reflects poorly on other areas.

"The street's fillet"? First, the conclusion: good kebab, but for me, not the kebab you'd expect given the hype. Well, ordering and paying at the vending machine is quick and easy. The ambiance? You can sit down for a moment, but with temperatures over 25 degrees Celsius, it's very unpleasant, simply too warm. There's not much to say about the service; your number is called, and you pick up your food. The people are definitely friendly. Now for the food: the meat was very good, and the bread is also something special, as it's a kind of sweet bread like a hamburger. It's a matter of taste; I prefer homemade pide.

We ordered and paid via the terminal. We were told the last time we sat down and were called, or our number would appear on the screen. After waiting 20 minutes, we still hadn't heard anything, and the number still didn't appear on the screen, so I went up. No, my husband and child were waiting at their seats. After 15 minutes, I still hadn't received my food, and others with higher numbers were already waiting, so I asked what the issue was. An employee apologized and told his colleague. This colleague then yelled at me in front of the entire restaurant, saying that he had already called three times, and if I sat in the farthest corner of the restaurant, it would be my own fault. When asked about the fact that the screen didn't show anything, he simply said, "It doesn't matter." The mood at our table was naturally ruined after that, and the food obviously didn't taste good either. We won't be visiting this restaurant again.

The kebab was amazing...and everything was freshly made. You can choose everything right away, and it's pretty quick. The only thing that was really unpleasant was that around the tables, or rather inside the shop...it was so damn hot that you couldn't really eat there for long without getting completely drenched in sweat...and it wasn't even 20 degrees outside. But otherwise...the food was delicious, and the price was absolutely reasonable.

I've rarely been so disappointed. For €8.50, you get a cold, brittle kebab with carelessly thrown-together meat – dry, lacking in flavor, and the bread crumbling in your hand. That alone would be poor, but standing in a stuffy shop in the middle of summer without air conditioning is the icing on the cake. Apparently, the money is only enough for overpriced food – but not even for a bit of customer comfort. Lack of quality, lack of atmosphere – the name says it all. Never again. Save your money and walk a few meters further.

Today we were in Bonn for the first time at Mangal and entered the doner kebabs at the terminal, everything worked and the yDöDö

The quality is really not that good anymore; it just tasted subpar, and that's for a cheeky €8 for a falafel sandwich. On top of that, there are now annoying vending machines with greasy screens where you have to order. It's incredibly hot in the place; it's unbearable. So, an all-around failure.

-World Champion plate, good meat and sauce, salad without dressing, fries not crispy, ayran was out. -NO GO: Plastic forks are a no-go! -NO GO: Ventilation turned off, making the restaurant hot. -NO GO: Exposed electrical wiring (illuminated sign) above one of the tables. Danger to people! -Restrooms: No paper towels.

I was there today. I've never eaten in such a warm, uncomfortable environment. There was no air circulation inside, and it was so hot that the tabletop was actually warm, and my forearm was sticking to it! Either they're skimping on air conditioning, or they don't have any ventilation in the store at all. The outside temperature was only 25 degrees Celsius; you don't want to know what it'll be like inside at 30 degrees Celsius or more. (Sauna 😂👍). Urgent solutions are needed!!

The kebab is really excellent!! But on the other hand, it is really too hot inside the restaurant, which made the experience absolutely unpleasant, I will never set foot inside again, at least not in summer.

There's no air conditioning, and the food isn't what it was in the beginning. Furthermore, the new online ordering system isn't accessible.

I've now tried Podolski's kebab. The taste is okay. The meat is full of fat, and the sauce is full of chemicals. The poor staff is constantly stressed. It's as hot as a sauna inside, so I recommend takeout. I know of better and cheaper kebab shops in Bonn and Cologne, hence only 3 stars.

Ordered via Lieferando, initially stated an acceptable delivery time. After submitting the order, the delivery time was very long, leaving no time for the food. Cancellation not possible because the phone number was incorrect.

The food at Mangal by Lukas Podolski in Bonn was truly amazing, delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. You can tell the quality of the food here is paramount. What's a real shame, though, is that the heat in the restaurant was almost unbearable. It was so warm that guests could hardly feel comfortable, and I felt particularly sorry for the staff. Working there in those temperatures is almost inhumane. Especially in summer, this is definitely something that could put many guests off. I really hope a solution is found soon; the food deserves to be enjoyed in a more pleasant environment!

The doner kebab plate was quite good and a large portion. You'd expect that for the price of over €13. The taste was average. The sauces were very bland and watered down. It's all a matter of taste. On top of that, the entire shop was far too warm. I won't be eating doner kebabs there again. There are better options elsewhere. The owner of this fast food chain should stick to football. 😏

Considering it's a kebab chain, it was okay. However, the tables were quite greasy, the restrooms were out of soap, the screens didn't display properly, and ordering via e-order was more complicated. Also, the opening of the kebab is too wide, so a lot of food falls out. Otherwise, it was okay.

The doner kebab is okay, but nothing special compared to the shop's early days. What has definitely gone up, however, are the prices. In contrast to other shops, the price-performance ratio is now very poor, in my opinion. Unfortunately, the service is also abysmal. I've experienced several situations here. For example, I wanted to pay for my doner kebab with a card, and at the exact moment I held my card to the reader, the disinterested employee was engrossed in a private conversation and then asked me to pay a second time. After a clear protest from me and the intervention of his colleague, he accepted my payment. Unfortunately, the meat on the doner kebab was burnt, and I was at least glad I hadn't paid for it twice! Otherwise, you don't even get a second glance after the doner is handed over, for example, when paying. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the shop!

The doner is nice: the bread is soft and fresh, the doner and the sauce and salads are nice but the inside is very hot and not clean. Your clothes smell of doner and the ventilation is bad, this issue should be taken seriously!!!

I walked into the place, which looks more like an Apple Store for meat. Black interior, stylish lighting, doner kebab skewers spinning like a carousel at a funfair. And the best part: The ordering system is so modern you'd think you were ordering a doner kebab from SpaceX. Three taps and Apple Pay does the rest – Elon Musk would be proud. 😎 I opted for the vegetarian falafel sandwich – sure, even football legends have to believe in plants. After a whopping three minutes, I had my sandwich in my hand – fresh, hot, and honestly: like a tasty penalty kick into the corner! 📸 Image 1: The stylish kebab counter – more meat on display than I've ever had in my entire life. 📸 Image 2: Lukas Podolski's logo on the bag – signed with Hunger. 📸 Image 3: My falafel kebab – crispy, colorful, and with enough sauce to pass as a dressing dispenser. My experience at Mangal Döner x Lukas Podolski was mixed overall. I ordered via Uber Eats, which usually allows for a custom selection of ingredients. I placed two different orders—one for me and one for my partner—with different ingredients. Even though we were only a 5-minute walk away and arrived about 15 minutes after the order was confirmed, the food still wasn’t ready. There was a communication issue at first—they couldn’t find my order. Only after I showed them my name did they locate it, but we still had to wait another 10–15 minutes. While we waited, we noticed the table was not very clean—there were oil stains and it looked like it had only been wiped down quickly. It didn’t feel very hygienic. Inside, it was also quite warm and poorly ventilated, making the wait uncomfortable. When we finally got our food, although the ingredients were technically correct, they were completely mixed up. Fries were completely soggy. The sauces we ordered were missing entirely. The taste was good, but it didn’t match what we had selected—which was frustrating since everything was clearly listed on the receipt. I liked the idea of the ordering kiosks, like you see in McDonalds, where you select/build your Döner and pay, and your token gets called, however the execution and service at this branch were sadly underwhelming. Overall, it was a so-so experience.

This Döner place is one of my favourites. They have the best and fresh bread.

Picked up fries just before midnight on Saturday... Cold and unsalted

We ordered food today, and unfortunately, I got a dürum instead of lahmacun, the wrong Fanta, and no sauce on any of the three dishes. I don't usually write bad reviews, but this is really a lot. It's a shame, because otherwise, the food tasted good.

The food arrived after over 60 minutes and was completely cold. The phone number listed online is fake; you can't even call! On top of that, the kebab didn't come with the ingredients I ordered. To top it off, the ayran was completely forgotten! I'll never order from here again, and I'll get my money back!

No ingredients menu in English on the ordering screen, so I kindy asked if anyone behind the counter could help me (there were no customers at the moment and I did not find their menu online either) and explain the difference between 3 wraps. Only one person agreed, came to me by the screen and told the exact same names, as were writte on the menu on the scteen. I said I am sorry but I do not speak German and I would really like to know the difference between dürün, lachmakun and döner. So he replied he does not know how to explain if I do not understand and......just walked away. Nobody even tried to help me buy our dinners from them. So, I still do not know the difference and no purchase 😆

Every time I go there I'm more disappointed.. bomb back then and now they can't even get the order right.. I wanted a normal kebab with meat NOT with a crappy FALAFEL😣

When Mangal opened in Bonn, the average kebab in Bonn cost €3.50. They started with 7.50 and doubled the kebab prices in Bonn, I just paid €8 for a mini kebab (which is now their standard amount), back when they opened, you were full of the kebab for at least 2 days... Today the kebab is no longer worth 4.50! 0 stars! Miserable service! Now paid 7.90 in 2025 and again not worth the money.... 2025.... More salad than meat, sauces good but not worth the money

Good Döner for a good price my only problem was that my order was done incorrectly but overall good place to dine

We tried it out today out of necessity. Not recommended at all. Staff unmotivated, tables not cleaned, no toilet paper or paper for the hands in all toilets. Doner kebab was very greasy and not seasoned at all. Conclusion: once and never again!

Cold meat, expensive drinks for the same price

I was disabused today and will no longer order from Lieferando. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our 5 Dürums. I know that the delivery time was given as 40-60 minutes but it is at 7:06 p.m ordered the food was prepared around 8 p.m. and we received our food at 8:30 p.m. We wanted to cancel the order, but we couldn't use the Lieferando app and we couldn't reach anyone in the restaurant by phone because the restaurant's phone number wasn't assigned. I don't know how something like that can be... We would have liked to have canceled and gone somewhere else!! The Dürums weren't quite warm anymore and in the end there was nothing special, just the meat was good.

Ordering through Uber Eats used to be really good. Always bad now. Ordered a kebab plate two weeks ago and only received meat with fries, no salad. Yesterday two fries were forgotten and the cheese we paid for extra. Super annoying.

It's been a long time since I've eaten a Poldi kebab. He used to be better. Nowadays it's just about average kebab. Dry, bad meat. Bread OK. Salad and sauces acceptable. All in all, something you should avoid and rather spend 1-2€ more.

Very tasty Düner. I very rarely like food like this, but it was very tasty. I definitely recommend it if you are passing through Bonn. Despite the long line, the guys work quickly. The products are clearly fresh and everything is very neat. Thank you.

I was there for the first time today. My order: 3 kebabs to take away. All with extra sauce and one with extra cheese. You can't say anything about the taste. Was great. And for an extra €1 there was really good cheese on it too. But unfortunately none of my kebabs had the sauce I ordered. Only one had about a teaspoon of sauce at the bottom. If you think about the fact that extra sauce was ordered, it's really sad. The size of the kebab was also not justified for the price. Unfortunately, I ordered takeaway and didn't notice this until I got to the hotel. I didn't really like ordering from the machine either. I just don't like those things. Without the machine, the errors could definitely have been avoided. It would have been possible to pay in cash and order at the counter, but I would have liked to have known the prices beforehand. But other than a large Podolski advertisement, I couldn't see any prices. Conclusion: I think the main thing that is advertised here is a famous name. And the rest is rather subordinate. Too bad

Podolski's food is definitely delicious. Also suitable for vegetarians, with the delicious salad bag. Unfortunately the service is disorganized so that you get the kebab first and have to wait 10 minutes for the fries. This can definitely be improved. And I don't find these wooden plates hygienic either. These are picked by every dirty hand and never washed. But thank you anyway, it was delicious.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I bought a kebab from Dünen Podolski in Bonn, but it was ice cold. Something like that simply shouldn't happen - especially with a dish that should be fresh and warm. In terms of taste, it wasn't convincing either. For me that was definitely the last time. I'm not coming back.

At €7.90 for a kebab, I expect a different quality. The pressed minced meat was cold, but otherwise tasted okay. The bread was not at all crispy, rather limp. The hot sauce should be called sweet sauce. All in all, the taste was okay, but absolutely not worth the hype and the €8. As many others have already complained, the staff is listless and unfriendly. Definitely a unique experience for me.

I visit other branches that have been better and so excited but this one is not the same. You need to order using machines but the order list preparation is stock so I wasn't informed that my sandwich is ready and I got it cold. Disappointed....

I've been waiting for almost 20 minutes and there's just no progress. The display on the screen doesn't update and you just stand there stupidly... the employees look like they're working quickly but it's just not moving forward... It's a shame I'm no longer hungry for anger...

pros: super tasty döner, the meat is flavorful and juicy, while the bread is warm and nicely crispy cons: it is often very busy, the staff are a bit impatient, its pricier than other döner places (but tbh that’s because this is slightly more upscale than most)

Most expensive but also the worst kebab in all of Bonn. Respect 👏👏👏👏

I was very disappointed that here they serve food in plastic boxes when I eat in. This fries was one big fail. Too big, not properly fried and bad taste :( served in plastic box. I really like Mangal but it is very big difference where you eat and how they valuate their customers. Maybe I was just unlucky, but they guy who serve should not be paid for service to people

I didn't like the kebab. Order was prepared incorrectly even though it was ordered via terminal. It was the worst kebab I've ever eaten.

A really shabby Mangal kebab. Run down and dirty inside. The staff is unfriendly and the quality of the food is appalling. The kebab consisted of meat dripping with fat. Chain kebab for an unjustified price. Never again !
