Istanbul Kebap in Bonn

It used to be one of my favorite shops, but the meat quality has really gone downhill. I was really disappointed with the taste during my last two visits…

Small shop with small but adequate seating for eating. The staff are very friendly and the shop is very well-maintained. We had pide, and it was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. I haven't had such tasty pide in a long time.

Very clean. The food – lahmacun with doner kebab meat – is incredibly delicious and juicy. The quality of the lahmacun is very, very tasty and crispy, something you won't find here in Bonn. Unique and highly recommended! Please keep it up and don't change your quality for the worse :)

I was surprised to see UFO Döner arrive in Bonn so soon after the concept launched in Hamburg. At first, I was skeptical — I usually prefer kebab shops that put their focus on top-quality ingredients and homemade preparation instead of relying on a gimmicky shape. But to be fair, I was positively surprised. While it’s not the best Döner you’ll find in Bonn, it’s certainly not a bad one either. The sealed bread makes it much easier to eat compared to the traditional version, and the crispy outer ring adds an interesting texture. The closed shape also keeps it warm for longer, which makes it a great option to grab to go and enjoy by the Rhine. You can even add a layer of cheese inside, though the cheese itself tasted a bit unusual to me. Overall, it’s a solid Döner with some clever ideas behind it — worth trying at least once if you’re curious about the UFO style.

We had a bad experience there. We were standing in line and were suddenly kicked out because we were supposedly pushing ahead. Absolutely unacceptable... Never again.

Definitely among the top 5 kebab shops in Bonn. Average prices. Portions are good. Fresh salad, plus they have red cabbage, which not many in Bonn offer. Meat: standard rotisserie. The UFO is okay, doable. I particularly like the fairly large selection of vegetarian and vegan options. The seitan kebab is very tasty and a nice change. The good central location on my way home and the friendly, charming team behind the counter make me happy to stop there for dinner.

Highly recommended snack bar. The doner kebab plate was truly delicious, and even my girlfriend enjoyed the falafel. Next time I'm in Bonn, I know where I'll get my fill.

I ordered a pizza at my own risk, but I don't recommend it. They weren't very nice and didn't show much empathy.

Well, if you don't know UFO Kebab, it's a great idea to try it, but the cocktail sauce is too dark and the taste is not what you expect, there's not much meat and the veal doesn't taste like veal, otherwise the staff are lovely and the service is good, I can't complain.

We drove almost 50 km away for UFO sucuk kebabs, which were very tasty. Very friendly staff and a clean shop. The only problem is that they don't have enough seating.

I had to work today, but since I ate UFO kebab yesterday, I had to call in sick. I've been on the toilet since 4:00 a.m., and it's 7:34 a.m.

Really good place! I was in Bonn for a day on June 28, 2025, and by chance, I went in with my German friend at night, and I'm deeply impressed by the hospitality we experienced! The UFO was world-class, the staff from another planet! Please keep it up, my brothers.

Had a UFO chicken kebab and thought it was a typical new marketing product - but guys, this is sooo awesome! Definitely try it with cheese crust and you won't be disappointed.

I ordered a fries kebab here, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it. There was very little meat but lots of fries, and everything tasted salty. I didn't finish the kebab; it's not worth a second visit!

Mediocre in almost every way. The “UFO kebab” is not my thing. Apart from the shape and a different type of bread, I can't tell any difference. When it comes to bread, however, I personally think the classic versions are better. The skewer looked like it had a lot of minced meat, but the vegetables/salad were good and fresh. Sauces also nothing special. Advantage: Open for a long time by Bonn standards. You can do it if you're hungry at night, but otherwise you won't miss anything.

We drove there from Bochum today and didn't regret it at all. It was super fresh and deliciously prepared and the employees were all very nice and hospitable. I can really only recommend it.

Today we ordered two Ufo kebabs with a cheese crust and a pide with cheese to take away. The two employees were super friendly and we were offered tea while we waited. In the end we even got sweets for free. The Ufo kebab tasted great! Delicious sauce, spicy meat and fresh salad. We'll definitely be back.

We were in Bonn today and decided to go out for a UFO kebab. Great service. Very nice people there. We ordered one with veal/sucuk and one with chicken. Absolutely great in taste. Great “Ufo sauce” (similar to cocktail sauce) and nice fresh salad. The Sucuk rotisserie absolutely convinced me. Cool idea and great taste. Prices are completely fine and accepted. 2x drink + 2x UFO kebab for under twenty euros. Gladly again!

Unfortunately the worst kebab in Bonn. Very overrated. Meat tastes like rubber, hard to chew. Dürum also like rubber. Unfortunately, the Ufo kebab is barely filled and the bread is super dry. Fries were ok.

Unfortunately, even after the UFO kebab, it is far from the best kebab experience in Bonn. I didn't think Istanbul kebab was that good even before it opened (x UFO), but the UFO kebabs are also mediocre at best. With the UFO you are happy when you have reached the middle, the edge is very dry and tasteless despite the cheese. So just get a normal kebab - and there are definitely better ones in Bonn.

I ordered the UFO Doener. Due to the closed nature of the doner, the bread becomes soggy if the item is not eaten directly because the warm contents release moisture that has nowhere to go but into the bread. I “baked” the thing again in the oven and got the bread crispy. In terms of taste, the part is in the lower half. Hardly any sauce, far too much lettuce (especially red cabbage) and too little meat, which is also relatively tasteless. To then charge 9 euros for this is an absolute disgrace! Never again. All in all, a really poorly implemented idea that has great potential with better quality! I also ordered the Seitan Doner. That too was pure disappointment. Two slices of Seitan with a little lettuce (and again too much red cabbage). 8.50 euros is also an absolute disgrace for what you get. Only give the store as long as the hype surrounding the UFO Doener lasts. The restaurant can't do anything in terms of taste. This is by far the worst doner I have ever eaten. Well, the prices should have been red-flag enough, but I fell victim to the hype. It's your own fault and you've learned from it :)

I order one UFO kebab complete and another without tomatoes and red cabbage. One is served only with red cabbage and the other with tomatoes. Absolutely disappointing

Even after the reopening with “UFO Döner” still recommended. For those who don't want to follow the trend, the well-known products are still available. Seitan UFO kebabs can be seen in the photo. Theoretically it would also be available with a cheese crust.

The kebab tastes really good, the meat is very salty. The hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. The sauces and salad were a disaster. Cleanliness is a foreign word.

All round perfect service. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We were there quite late, just before midnight, which makes the positive impression even more impressive. The pide was outstanding and was served really nicely. There was also a plate with different sauces that went well with it. The Halka Tatlisi "ring dessert" was also very good, just sweeter than expected at first glance.

This kebab shop in Bonn is a place characterized by genuine hospitality and warmth. The meal was okay. The kebab was extremely salty, the “cocktail” sauce tasted like the cheaper version of a Hela spice ketchup. For me it has no place on a kebab. This surpassed the rest of the taste and made everything taste the same. The hot sauce/paste was pretty tasty - good bread.

I don't know the Bonn standard for kebab. But this was a disaster and at €7.5 it was also outrageously expensive. Dry, bad meat and soggy salad that was definitely from the day before. In the middle of the kebab, a spider crawled out of the kebab not out of the packaging but out of the middle of the rolled dough. Have a good meal
