I'm not usually a kebab eater, but in Germany it's definitely worth trying. This kebab apparently had a good reputation, and I can confirm it was incredibly delicious. I recommend it :)

We really like this restaurant chain — the food is usually very tasty! As you can see in the photo, we ordered fries and a dürüm. We also added cheese to the döner for 1 euro — it was delicious, although the flatbread was a bit dry. I asked to add a little more garlic sauce and to skip the two spicy ones, but the cook didn’t follow that — the garlic sauce amount was the same. Also, the person who prepared the order wasn’t very polite. Overall, the food was good, but I’d appreciate a bit more attention to customers’ requests and a friendlier attitude from the staff 😊

Poldi Döner - simply delicious 😃

Had the beef doner sandwich and chicken doner wrap. Very tasty and generous portions. Friendly staff. Seating is limited but we did manage to get a table within a few minutes of arriving as it was not too busy.

Garbage kebab! Bread as crispy as a biscuit and just as big. The veal is too fatty. The spicy sauce tastes like ketchup. The saziki tastes like mayo. Seating is more for children. There are no plates except for a small paper plate. All for €8.50, plus €1 for a spoonful of cheese.

Top-notch kebab shop. We ordered three kebabs, and they came to the table faster than I could get to bed. Plus, they even gave us a guarantee on the kebabs! I'll definitely be coming back here!

A great döner place right next to the tram stop. The meat döner was delicious, and the vegetables were fresh. For the sauces, I tried the garlic mayonnaise and the hot sauce. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't very spicy. I really liked the döner. If you're ever in this area, definitely give it a try. The price is 9.5 euros.

Great kebab with variety of delicious sauces available. Big portions and lovely staff. Note there is no seating area. More of a take-away situation but if you walk up the road to the square, there are plenty of benches to sit and eat if it is not raining.

I went to Lukas Podolski's Mangal Döner in Cologne today. Honestly, it was pretty disappointing – the kebab was very small for the price (€8.50), with hardly any meat, and far too little sauce. The taste was okay, but for the price, I expected a lot more. There are definitely better kebab shops in Cologne where you get more for your money.

I specifically got off here at Heumarkt because you can get good doner kebabs, only to see that they can only make one doner kebab in 15 minutes. I ended up having to go home without eating anything because when I asked how long it takes to make a doner kebab, the answer was after the cashier had counted his customers, he told me "we'll see" in bad German -.- since they only finished 1 out of 3 customers, I told them "forget it". It's unacceptable that they employ 3 people and it's just as slow as if it were just one. It's a shame for the shop, even though the food is just about good. If you're planning on ordering something to eat, yes, why not, you can go there, but if it's about getting it before your train leaves, FORGET IT!! Really stupid because you're right next to the train and the shop can't even manage it.

The doner kebabs here are getting smaller and more expensive. They're still incredibly delicious, but these days, the doner here isn't filling, and it's already €8.50, making it the most expensive I know of in Cologne. I prefer ordering the Dürüm here for €1 more because it's much bigger. But it's a real shame that Mangal isn't what it used to be.

Looking at the rotating blocks, I decided to try chicken instead of meat. I ordered one with bread and the other with a wrap. First, they spread your choice of three different sauces on the base. Then there's the chicken döner and a variety of greens. Finally, more sauces. The bread was delicious, and I liked it. But the filling of the bread was so messy I couldn't quite tell if I was eating döner or not. We paid 18€ for both.

It would be cool if there were rolls here too!

It's a place we often visit when we go to Germany. But I especially love this place in Cologne because the Turkish chef here hosted us so warmly that I felt like I was back home.

Unfortunately, one of the worst doner kebabs I've ever eaten. We were there late at night, the skewer was still large, and the line was long. The meat was still very limp and not even close to crispy when cut from the skewer. My choice, a dürüm (whatever they call it in the shop, a special name doesn't make the food any better), was prepared lackluster. The sauces were spread on first and were unevenly distributed. The salad was then thrown on randomly, and the meat was added. And now comes the most disappointing part: The employees don't know how to roll a dürüm to seal it. The dürüm was simply rolled up and then sealed with aluminum foil, so you can't eat the doner without eating the contents of the foil and spilling them all over the place. The doner kebabs in bread are no better. The bread was loaded so heavily that the various salad ingredients were simply stacked on top of each other and weren't even remotely mixed. Like with a Dürüm, the sauce was spread first on the bread, leaving the contents completely sauce-free and with very little flavor. If the doner kebabs are always this bad, and it wasn't just a stressful evening with too many customers, I can't recommend this kebab at all.

The kebab plate was very good; the meat, fries, and salad were all fresh and clean. The shop is generally tidy and clean. Plus points: the long opening hours for when you get hungry late at night, and they accept card payments, which not every kebab shop offers. I'd be happy to go back.

Incredibly good veal doner kebab, super juicy, and the bread is crispy on the outside and also very tasty. They also serve delicious falafel sandwiches in the same bread. Highly recommended, friendly staff.

I can't recommend it; for €8.50 you get a joke! The bread was left to cook for far too long, rock-hard, and not appetizing. There's hardly any filling in it either, neither meat nor salad. The "staff" must have been wise. When I asked for my order, they started arguing loudly with the employees about how I could eat it like that, saying I didn't know what I was doing... totally unprofessional. I will never eat there again and won't say a good word about this chain again.

I ordered a kebab in bread with mixed meat. I was struck by the extremely friendly service from the staff. The bread was delicious and freshly prepared, although I would have appreciated it being warmed up a bit more. There was a sufficient amount of meat, and the salads were also good. I had all three sauces and was not disappointed. I would go back, but I think the price of €8.50 is a bit too high. I think €7.50, or seven euros, should be sufficient.

Friendly and fast service. The food was very good, a world away from the newly opened restaurant in Zabrze. The bread was excellent, without any flour aftertaste, the sauces were aromatic, the vegetables were fresh, and the meat wasn't ground meat.

My daughter requested it. I was impressed by the quality of the dishes.

What a pity for our Poldi's name! That's completely unacceptable! They make someone stand in line for 20 minutes and then, in a truly rude manner, point out that payment is cash only! Please put your sign in front of the queue, rather than sticking an A4 sign written in felt-tip pen to the counter and then cheekily pointing it out after you've waited. Why does a store bearing our Lukas's name still insist on cash? Truly difficult, unfriendly, and outdated.

I ordered a veal dürüm. Then, in the middle, there was raw, sloppy chicken. I went straight to the store to inform the employees. I was refunded, but the comment afterwards, asking why I ate half of it, was rude. I work for the city of Cologne and will contact the health department. Playing with the health of paying customers is completely unacceptable. I hope I don't get salmonella...

The food is good, 2 of us ordered double meat and one of us regular. The regular had more meat then the double meat, they are cheating which is not ethical and also people working there talk in their own language and saying smart comments when you asking for sauces or extra lettuce , not very professional . I hope the manager get this issues taken care of, or we would never go back again , the person talking shit is the one giving us the food and that’s double meat on the videos which was more like lots of veggies and bread smh
