Mampf&Schmatz Ketsch in Ketsch

This is one of the few times I can truly give a restaurant 5 stars. I don't know why it took us over a year to try this place—but now we've finally done it! I actually thought it would be a much smaller and less chic place, but I was pleasantly surprised by how modern and tidy everything looked. The first impression was definitely great. We received a friendly welcome and were immediately seated at a table—albeit in an area where a birthday party was taking place. We then asked if we could move, and luckily, it wasn't a problem! I was really hungry and ordered the beetroot carpaccio as a starter—it was generously topped with white cheese and walnuts. Absolutely delicious! A real recommendation for anyone who doesn't really like salad but still wants something with vegetables. For my main course, I had the grilled chicken breast fillet with vegetables and potatoes. The portion was truly huge—it could easily have been enough for two! The chicken was super tender, and the vegetables had a pleasant sweetness. The potatoes were a bit oily, but still delicious. All in all, I can highly recommend this place. I also saw the burger – I'll definitely try that on my next visit!

Overall, you can't complain. The portions are large and you definitely won't go hungry. The service was friendly and nice and always attentive to their duties. Ordering drinks without having seen the menu first wasn't so good, even though we asked for it. Starters can only be ordered a few minutes before the main course (waiting time about an hour). However, it was more than enough and definitely too much for one person. The main course was good; the steak was rare, not medium, but that didn't bother me personally. The tendon that ran through the entire meat was nicer. Dessert was the best, beautifully presented and delicious. The price for 2 adults and 1 child was €85. Prices will increase from September 1, 2025. I think we'll come again and try it out.

Very, very nice! The food is absolutely delicious, the service is very friendly but not intrusive. The beer garden is cozy. The seating is very quiet, very central in Ketsch, and there's parking around the corner on the market square. Highly recommended!
