Feeling welcome is something else...

I actually really enjoy going to Malinas because it offers a cuisine that I don't know anywhere else in the area. Especially in summer, the salads are fresh and lush, but at the same time very filling thanks to the pierogis. Malinas is super reliable: the same quality for years, always the precisely counted pieces of bread with one of two dips (depending on the season). The service staff is also stable and, depending on the mood of the day, is sometimes more or less charming. If you ask Malinas for special requests (e.g. because you don't like a type of pierogi or want to swap the dressing), it's never really well received... they do it, but with gritted teeth. That's what I mean by a positive attitude, because Malinas can rely on that too ;) It's good that you exist!

Delicious authentic Silesian-Polish cuisine!

We had a lovely, delicious dinner on the sunny terrace. The food was visually beautifully presented and the homemade pierogi were delicious, I took a few to take home with me. Definitely a recommendation if you are traveling in Düsseldorf.

The "Piroggeria" offers a large selection of dishes, most of which include pierogies. These really only taste like the ingredients and are not overly seasoned. A portion of lunch salad with 3 pierogies is filling, but that's what you expect for €13.90. We would have liked the service to be a little warmer. The room is quite dark, but cozy. In summer you can sit outside at numerous tables.

I don't understand the good reviews and 4.4 *. I've been there three times now. The service is unfriendly, inattentive (were we ignored?) and harsh. Missing drinks will still be charged. Only card payment is possible, which also offers plenty of opportunity for speculation - you know?! The shop isn't tiny. The salads are delicious but grossly overpriced, therefore only 3*. Price-performance is simply not right. We live in the area but don't go there anymore. Friends and neighbors confirm exactly this opinion.

I have already sent you the review by FAX. Food really tasty again & great service. The thing about - cash only (2024!! in Düsseldorf) - is just a trip into the past. But you can pay with euros and no longer need DM.

Super delicious pierogi! Never eaten anything better. Unfortunately, no card payment is possible. It's incredibly loud inside, you can almost only go there in the summer because the acoustics inside are so bad.

Wonderful polish restaurant with fantastic food, great drinks and an overall enjoyable vibe. The meals had very nice portions which made all of us happy. Only negative thing is the fact that you can only pay by cash, I hope they will accept card payments soon.

Leckeres polnisches Essen in gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Die Bedieung war sehr freundlich. Wir haben Bigos und veschiedene Pierogi probiert und fanden alles sehr lecker. Es war bestimmt nicht unser letzter Besuch dort.

Malinas is a cozy restaurant serving Polish cuisine. The service is super nice and the dishes are very tasty. The Pieroggis Mama Danuta and the great salads (with different pieroggis or with gratinated goat cheese) are my favorites, but so far everything has tasted very good, whether vegetarian or not. In the evening you should definitely make a reservation. We often go there at lunchtime and have had no problems getting a seat, even though Malinas is very busy at lunchtime. I always enjoy coming there.

Reply to your answer: Constructive criticism represents an opportunity for improvement. Unfortunately, you really didn't take advantage of it: there was no mention of free food here (we paid EUR 110, with a tip of EUR 5.6 included). According to gastro etiquette, an employee/temp chewing gum is definitely a no-go. We don't want to have to judge or smell your employee's breath; a smile and a simple happy birthday would have been enough. Courtesy, politeness and at least an occasion-related niceness would have been a justification for perhaps coming back, but the lack of talent in direct customer contact unfortunately remains an obstacle here at your company. The food was okay but the service was subpar. The older lady with her pink pants chewed chewing gum the whole time, was completely uninterested in the customer and the announcement that we wanted to celebrate a birthday here was something we could have given ourselves: we definitely won't be coming back. We expect much more from service. It's a shame, because we are very well connected in the Polish community. The seats outside are uncomfortable: wooden class.

The restaurant impresses with its beautiful interior. About the dishes: - Cold bowl, very good - Żurek, not sour enough, definitely thickened with flour - almost lumpy. Marjoram is missing. - Bigos, way too sweet, you can't taste any caraway seeds, there was no character in the dish. Someone probably washed the sauerkraut for too long until the taste was gone - Pierogi, which are fried in oil, should at least be fried in butter if not lard. - Pierogi with onions, potatoes and cheese: hardly tasted, there is no marjoram. That is the basis. - If Polish cuisine, classics should also be offered, such as sauerkraut and mushroom filling. - The starter plate was quite good, but even there I missed elements that define Polish cuisine: for example smoked ham or sausage - The bread we got was at least from yesterday. - I don't understand just offering Tyskie as a Polish beer. In Poland you always have at least Żywiec on offer. Conclusion: Someone who doesn't understand Polish cuisine works in the kitchen. Polish cuisine uses spices, is rich in flavor and has character. This is a cuisine that is cooked at home, by everyone. There's love in there. Unfortunately not in Malinas. It's not an authentic Polish restaurant. The restaurant wants to incorporate elements of Polish cuisine, but cannot interpret them in an interesting way. Wouldn't call it a Polish restaurant. Fusion at its best, but not in a positive sense. A pity!

Great food, huge portions and nice hosts! Would certainly recommend and come back. It’s all about honest food in this place - not sure why cash only, but willing to accept that for the great food.

I had dinner there with colleagues. Otherwise I just kept walking past. Food was great, the price was reasonable. The service was very good. You sit outside on the street. But in terms of space, there's probably no other way. I would love to come back.

The food was quick and tasty, you should make a reservation. We were there 10 minutes after opening without a reservation and it was already close. Speaks for the store! We'd love to come back :) Parking can sometimes be difficult and take some time.

Had dinner there yesterday with our friends. The reception was a bit reserved and not particularly helpful. My girlfriend is in a wheelchair and the entrance has steps that had to be overcome. The gentleman at the counter just watched and didn't offer any help. You wish it were different. We can certainly still work on the friendliness factor. Now to the food, it was very good. We had Zurek, Bigos, salad with minute steaks and various pirogues. I can only recommend. So in terms of food I give it a good 4 stars, the service only gets 3 stars. There is still room for improvement.

This restaurant has nothing to do with Polish hospitality. Service extremely unfriendly. The food looks good but is very fatty and poorly seasoned. In Poland everything has to taste intense. No card payments. In 2024J. Not even EC. The Malinas still have to practice a lot or book a trip to Poland

There are delicious fried pierogies and large fresh salads here. The service is always friendly. We recommend! Especially as long as you can get a seat outside. Unfortunately, the acoustics inside are bad, so it's hard to have a conversation if there are more than two tables occupied.

I like Malinas because of its Polish and Eastern European cuisine, although it also offers vegetarian and vegan dishes. The large portions and the really enjoyable food are to be praised. The atmosphere is familiar and cozy and the service was very nice and hardworking. Conclusion: The food really exceeded my expectations. Very tasty food, deliciously prepared Polish specialties, top service at the table, delicious beer (Pilsener Urquell)… in short everything was great! Prices are absolutely right for the quality! It's worth a visit

Malinas Restaurant is a place inspired by Polish cuisine. Inspired, because although the food is tasty, the menu includes real variations on Polish cuisine and beyond (e.g. salad with dumplings or curry-mango chicken). The dumplings, speaking of them, were tasty, but quite monothematic, the dough itself was very thick. The service leaves much to be desired. The lady who served us was rude, when we informed her that we did not speak German, she said dismissively that she did not speak English either. She served us with a clear grimace on her face throughout the entire evening. Finally, there was a problem with payment, the dinner was organized by the company and it was agreed with the restaurant that an invoice would be issued. Once there, the waitress brought us a bill to pay now. Only after talking to the manager, the invoice was settled in accordance with the previous agreement, but it was an inconvenience.

I like Malina's. The pierogi are delicious and I love their chunky fries. The sauces that go with it are also great and the ambience is somewhere between ommry and clean, making the shop cozy and nostalgic, but not too plush or overstuffed (although a little eye-catcher somewhere in the back room would be nice). The service is friendly and attentive and the food went really quickly. It definitely wasn't there for the last time.

Update: Card payments will still not be possible in 2024. You're probably not serious! Attention: No card payment, therefore 2 stars deducted. The food is delicious and the service - at least around the food - was great and very nice. I can't say whether this is typically Polish, but there's pieroggi, borscht and bigosz, so you should get your money's worth. Overall it was very tasty and the dessert was amazing. BUT: The restaurant does not offer card payment and therefore forces its customers to walk 400m to the ATM at night in the rain. Succinct answer: The nearest one is in a gas station - dude, really? It's 2020, that's not possible. The cash register system is a modern, tablet-based cash register - so that's not the problem. Here the owner wants to save 20 cents in fees. It doesn't work at all. So if you eat here, take cash with you or avoid the restaurant until they modernize their payment methods.

The food was very tasty. It was difficult to find a parking space. And unfortunately it was very loud in the restaurant. But there were also many guests there.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Unfortunately there is a bit of a lack of insulation as the acoustics seemed very loud even with slight movement. The portions are intended for medium hunger as they were quite small. (Hänchwn curry and 2 roulades) All in all, it's pretty authentic.

Great, friendly and very attentive service. Very tasty food. However, the volume in the restaurant was unusually high = very loud. Otherwise fully recommended!

We got a table at relatively short notice, but it's always better to reserve for several people. We tried different pierogis. All good, the ground beef chili tasted best. The salad + 4 pierogi is definitely worth it. I had Bigos once, that was great too. Otherwise, small pierogi portions or complete main courses can be ordered. The ambience is classic, simple with wood etc. but fits well. When fully occupied it can get quite loud. In summer there is also a small beer garden in front of the restaurant. Parking is bad as always in Düsseldorf.

A really great concept, with great cuisine and extremely friendly staff. A visit is really worth it. It's classic Polish food in a new twist. It was really fun eating here. Gladly again.

After visiting the "U grandmother Maliny" restaurant in Krakow, Poland, we wanted to repeat our wonderful experience in a Polish restaurant in Germany. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed at the very entrance to the restaurant, where we were left very cold by an unpleasant waitress (dressed in Gothic style) with long hair, who did not even show us to the reserved table. She served us all the time in a very arrogant manner - when I asked about drinks, I was told that you had a card. The tables are small, cramped if you go with 4 people. Very noisy, bad acoustics, terrible decor, nothing like Polish restaurants. The only thing that saved the restaurant were the meals - large, tasty, and the waiting period was short. Overall, I don't recommend it.

As a native of Poland, I was a bit disappointed. The interior has nothing Polish at all. The waitress was super unfriendly and didn't even smile and just slapped the food on the table. The taste of the pierogi was okay, but not exceptional.

The food was delicious and the place is cozy. I just find “cash only” to be absolutely outdated and a clear negative point for me. Since I'm still breastfeeding, I asked for half a glass of wine. That was denied. My friend kindly wanted to share the glass with me, which was only reluctantly tolerated “absolute exception”. I don't understand that. It's actually not a problem. Totally annoying, but you can just do it. We drank and ate enough. We were all surprised and annoyed by the action. Just do it dear ones and don't discuss such small requests with customers...leaves a bitter aftertaste! The waitress also seemed a bit unmotivated and asked us three times too often if we wanted something more to drink...it almost seemed like they were trying to get rid of us without ordering anything else. Well, there was still a tip and we girls had a nice evening ✌️

There's nothing you can say against the food, it's well prepared and tasty, so I highly recommend it But The staff is inflexible, only responds to the guests' wishes to a limited extent and what is no longer possible these days is the fact that you can only pay in cash and card payment is not possible

Sind zum ersten mal hier zum Essen, wir waren total überrascht wie toll, lecker und mit Liebe zum Detail alles angerichtet war. Schönes Ambiente und für uns durchaus vertretbare Preise für Getränke und Essen. Wir sind nicht zum letzten Mal hier Essen. Reservierung ist aufgrund der hohen Gäste Anzahl angebracht. Das Service Team ist äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Essen kommt zügig ohne lange Wartezeit nach der Bestellung . Wir freuen uns auf unseren nächsten Besuch.

Das Essen war lecker, die Portionen sind riesig. Das Restaurant ist aber vor allem auf Pieroggis ausgelegt.

Damals in Polen hatte ich die besten Pierogies:). Die Pierogies im Malinas sind okay, sehr fade gewürzt. Die besten waren die, die mit Hackfleisch gefüllt wurden. Die Pilzsauce leicht säuerlich. Im Großen und Ganzen kann man hier einkehren und alles einmal probieren, aber es war nicht mein größtes Highlight. Service nett, aber verhalten. Das Ambiente schön. Frische Blumen und gemütliche Atmosphäre. Ein kleines Amuse Gueule gab es vorweg. Brot sehr gut, Dip fade.

Sehr nettes Personal, leckeres Essen, aber sehr laut

Wir hatten gutes über das Restaurant gehört, leider waren wir das erste und letzte mal dort. Ich hatte extra nur vegetarische Pierrogies bestellt, da ich seit 10 Jahren kein Fleisch esse. Als ich den ersten pieroggie aufgeschnitten habe, hatte ich das Gefühl, dass dies leider nicht vegetarisch ist. Somit ließ ich dies von jemand anderem probieren und es stellte sich heraus, dass diese mir Fleisch gefüllt waren. Als wir das Ansprachen, traf man nicht direkt auf Verständnis von der Bedienung. Im Nachgang hat sich diese entschuldigt und es ist sicher auch nicht ihre Schuld gewesen, da diese nur das Essen annimmt und den Gästen serviert. Dennoch finde ich hätte man mehr Verständnis aufbringen müssen, da es für mich nicht als Kleinigkeit gilt und ich mich sehr geärgert hätte, hätte ich Fleisch gegessen. Hinzu kommt, dass ich dann natürlich auf mein Essen warten musste und man nicht gemeinsam Speisen konnte, obwohl dies ja zu einem Restaurant-besuch gehört. Sich wenig Gedanken machen müssen, gemeinsam essen und genießen. Leider war dies gar nicht der Fall.

Lecker! Man kann allerdings nur mit Bargeld zahlen

Das Lokal bietet einen guten Querschnitt durch die Polnisch/Schlesische Küche zu moderaten Preisen. Eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen.

Wer leckere Pierogi essen möchte ist hier gut aufgehoben. Es gibt vor allem moderne Füllungen, klassische Füllungen sind hier leider nicht zu finden. Was aber ok ist, den alle Sorten schmecken gut. Das Lokal ist groß, aber gemütlich und der Service ist freundlich und schnell. Preislich ist man mit 20€ pro Person gut bedient.

Malinas ist ein sehr gutes polnisches Restaurant. Das Essen ist jedesmal lecker und nett angerichtet. Das Ambiente ist gut 👍, die Sitzgelegenheiten könnten gemütlicher sein und das Licht könnte ebenfalls etwas heller sein. Aber der Service ist ausgezeichnet und das Personal schnell und freundlich. Parken ist allerdings äußerst schwierig.

War okay, Wohnzimmer- Atmosphäre . Eher etwas für jüngeres Publikum. Ein wenig eng zwischen den einzelnen Tischen.

Ein wunderbarer Ort für schöne Momente. Lecker, gemütlich und sehr nette Mitarbeiter. Ganz toll.

1) Keine Kartenzahlung 2) Das Essen ist ok, aber die Pierogi haben nichts mit Polen zu tun. Sie treffen leider nicht den gewohnten polnischen Geschmack. Anstelle vom Schmand wird ein Joghurtsufstrich gebracht 3) Der Service ist zu sparsam/zu geizig. Zum frischen Minztee gibt es nur auf Anfrage ein Löffel Honig (Einzelverpackung). Es wurden zwei Portionen angefragt, angeboten wurde eine Portion, da diese angeblich sehr groß ist (und es ist wirklich nur ein kleiner Löffel). Bei Anfrage einer Zitronenscheibe, wurde nur eine sehr kleine halbe Zitronenscheibe für den Tee gebracht. 4) Über das Design und Ambiente hat wahrscheinlich keiner Gedanken gemacht. Einerseits dunkelgrüne Wände mit einer Schrift auf der ersten Wand wir in einem Start-Up unternehmen, dann metallische Bilder, dann Leinwandfotos. Es passt alles nichts zusammen. Als hätte jemand chorisch Dekos aufgefunden und aufgehängt. Die Teller sind auch nicht schön und eher auf Kantinenniveau. Ich wünschte es wäre etwas Besonderes, da die Anfahrt 40km war.

Sehr gemütliches Ambiente u. freundlicher Service. Das Bigos kann ich sehr empfehlen, (kl. Tipp, ein bißchen Sauercreme dazu wäre eine tolle Ergänzung) Ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert. Kommen sicher wieder. Danke ans gesamte Team !

Gutes polnisches Restaurant mit einer ordentlichen Auswahl an vegetarischen Gerichten. Wir waren mit der ganzen Familie da (7 Personen), würde aber auch für zwei Personen schon empfehlen vorher zu reservieren, um Wartezeiten zu vermeiden. Der Laden ist gut besucht. Die Lautstärke im Gastraum war etwas unangenehm, man konnte sich nur schwer unterhalten. Zum Essen: haben zwei Vorspeisenteller für alle und für jede Person ein Hauptgericht bestellt. So konnte man vieles probieren. Das Essen war durchweg gut. Wenn man aber schon oft polnisch gegessen hat, hat man einige Gerichte schon anderswo besser gegessen. Nichtsdestotrotz kann man einen Besuch durchaus empfehlen - vor allem wenn man der polnischen Küche noch etwas fremd ist.

Wir saßen Anfang Oktober noch draußen und genossen das sehr sehr leckere Essen! Eine tolle Karte mit Auswahl, vegetarisch oder Fleisch, für jeden etwas dabei! Kartenzahlung ist -leider- nicht möglich. Ich werde bei meinem nächsten Aufenthalt in Düsseldorf auf jeden Fall wieder vorbeischauen!

Ambiente nur 4 Sterne da es sehr sehr laut im hinteren Bereich. Das Essen war einfach nur lecker, Bigos und Rouladen vom feinsten und der Service war sehr nett und schnell!!!

Eine absolute Frechheit. Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert und dann sagt man uns heute am selben Tag ab, mit der Begründung es ist aktuell Messe und man möchte eine größere Reservierung annehmen, deswegen muss man unseren Tisch frei räumen. Noch nie habe ich es erlegt das Gäste so behandelt werden. Ich kann nur jedem raten sich etwas anderes zu suchen, denn eine Reservierung hier ist absolut nichts wert.

Der Salat mit den Teigtaschen war einfach nur überragend! Mega Dressing und leckere Früchte dabei. Die Getränke sind auch super! Einfach nur top! Schöne Einrichtung 😍

When you want to eat everything on the menu. Malinas takes the crown when it comes to modern polish kitchen. I‘m in love and constantly crave their signature dish called pierogi. They are open for lunch and dinner. I wish they had an online booking tool as our reservation (by phone) wasn‘t found once but the team did their best to accommodate us. They also only accept cash (no credit cards, paypal or debit cards) 5/5 stars. I wholeheartedly recommend.

Super polnisches Restaurant in Düsseldorf. Wer polnisches Essen - speziell selbstgemachte Pierogi mit verschiedenen Füllungen - und vorallem auch die polnische Atmosphäre mag ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Es gibt Tische drinnen wie draußen, es geht nur Barzahlung und es gibt ein Klo. Die Einrichtung ist schön und das Ambiente ist auch super; es ist immer was los und es wird viel gelacht. Nur die Tische und Stühle draußen waren nicht ganz so stabil. Man sollte vorher reservieren. Das Essen war super und wir hatten einen schönen Abend.

Ich sage so! Wir sind mit mehreren Kindern 200 km gefahren! Wir hatten richtig Hunger! Essen! Sorry ich bin Polin, aber das war das schlimmste essen was ich bis jetzt gegessen habe! Hat mit polnische Küche wenig zu tun! Personal freundlich! Raum war so dunkel, daß wir große Schwierigkeiten hatten etwas von karte zu lesen! Man könnte vieles aussetzen! Aber 2 mal wird keiner von uns dahin gehen! Richtig schade.Diese Pierogi waren so eklig, daß man die nicht essen konnte! Mehrmals hatte man Fehlern in unsere Bestellung gemacht! Sache haben gefällt! Man müsste lange warten bis das was fehlt wider kommt! Der eine war am essen, der andere musste nexte 30min warten auf das was nicht da war!Das geht die ganze zeit so! Ich persönlich werde nie wider dahin gehen! gibst richtige , bessere polnische küche in düsseldorf, wie Kluska was ich empfehlen kann! diese restaurant und aussagen sind einfach umfasbar! Trotzdem habe ich Trinkgeld gelassen, da wie mit mehreren Personen waren! nie wider!

Das Essen ist okay, aber kein Grund um wieder zu kommen. Die Piroggen waren jetzt nicht wirklich besonders gut, der Salat (geschmacklich gut) kam auf einem viel zu kleinem Teller, was es unmöglich machte, das Dressing auch nur ansatzweise unter den Salat zu bekommen oder gar umzurühren. Zudem haben sie keinen sicheren Stuhl für Babys. Der Service war aber wirklich sehr gut!

2 Punkte fürs Essen. Aussehen o.k. Geschmacklich könnte man viel verbessern. Wir waren zu 5 da und hatten verschiedene Gerichte. Keine Kartenzahlung. Ansonsten; Die klapprigen Bierbänke draußen 1m neben den fahrenden Autos 👎🏼 Die Karte.. was soll ich als Polin sagen. Komme mittags mit meiner Familie an einem Montag zum Essen und wir dürfen uns auf ein „knappes Angebot“ freuen. Klöße, Suppen und viele weitere Sachen werden nur an Sonn- und Feiertagen angeboten. Das ist für ein „polnisches“ Restaurant ein absolutes no-Go. Und bitte denkt nicht es sei eine gute Idee unseren guten Pierogi’s zu verarbeiten wie eine Lasagne👎🏼! Finde es wirklich schade das das Restaurant keine klassische polnische Karte und ein vernünftiges Ambiente bietet. Wobei ich glaube das dies längst in Angriff genommen werden könnte (schlecht besucht ist das Restaurant ja nicht.) Wir hoffen das das mal besser wird. Bis dahin danke aber dafür fahren wir keine 40km mehr zu euch. 🍀

Waren schon sehr oft dort. Damals waren die Portionen noch größer. Jedes Mal einfach lecker. Sowohl draußen, als auch drinnen sitzt man echt nett. Leckere polnische Küche. Empfehlung für Düsseldorf
