You can always put together exactly what you want. Broths are delicious and rich. You can make them easily and happily 😊

The lady at the counter treated me badly. I asked for the chicken salat then she scolded me in front of the other guests, saying they didn’t have that when in fact they did. I recommended this restaurant to my friends before but from now on, I will never come again. Malatang at Bushof is very much better anyway. Just wait for it to reopen then you can forget Malabar.

I love the food here at MalaBar. You can choose exactly what you're in the mood for and then select the right spice level. There are so many nuances of flavor in the food, and it's always so delicious that I come back regularly, and each visit feels like a little trip to a wonderfully relaxed village in China. The relaxing music and the very friendly owners make the atmosphere perfect. Thank you, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

My meal still contained frozen noodles. When I politely asked what that was about, I was told to just put them next to my plate?! Sorry, but you pay by weight here, so you can at least expect that what you pay for will be cooked, right? Hahahaha. Otherwise, everything has always been great, but I don't think this is acceptable.

I was there today with a friend. We were surprised because you had to take at LEAST 300g. Well... anyway, we went to the counter (lots of choice). We searched and searched and found good vegetarian food. But we didn't just find food, we also found BUGS (fruit flies, flies) in the food. I know that's normal in this weather, but you should be careful. The food was okay... but now I have a bit of a stomach ache 🙃 I wouldn't go again, but it was worth a visit. (10.26 for 340g)!

Beware, rip-off artists! There were four of us there (two adults and two small children, ages 4 and 2). It cost us over €70, and we were still hungry after the meal. Many of the ingredients we bought, especially "expensive" ones like lamb, were removed in the kitchen during preparation!

Food is delicious and price is super cheap. Such a great value for money! Wide choices of meat, fish, noodles, veggies, etc. Lady at the frontdesk was also friendly, she even gave us extra chicken 👍🏼

Bad Service and Food – We Won't Be Back I used to go to this restaurant often with my family, and the food was always really good. But lately, the service has been just terrible. Last time I went, I was there with my sister. When we wanted to pay, the waitress simply gave us a self-calculated amount on a slip of paper. When I asked for a proper receipt, she just said, "Ahh, you can't pay like that?!" – as if we were the problem. Then she suddenly got really annoyed, slammed the bowl really hard on the scale, and simply threw the pager onto the counter. Totally rude. And the food that day? Horrible. I've been there so many times, but I've never experienced anything like it. Way too much Sichuan peppercorn, the entire flavor was ruined. I honestly feel like she told the kitchen to mess up our food on purpose. I told my family, and we both agreed: We're not going there again!!

Very good and tasty food. You put everything together yourself and then pay based on weight. Then you pick up the finished hotpot and enjoy it. In terms of price, I can't fault anything. I paid €18 which is absolutely reasonable. Clear recommendation!

A hot dish that is perfect for cold days. One of the options is prepared with chicken broth and is also good for colds. I chose a medium spiciness dish and it was fine for me.

The food is far too expensive and the individual ingredients are usually soaked in water and soaked to increase the weight. The ambience is at most a canteen atmosphere... no real service. As others tell me, the card reader is constantly broken....... Evil tongues say it has to be that way😜 it's a rogue who thinks that. Greetings from the tax office 😁. I won't go there again and can't recommend it.

I came here after seeing a review saying that it took 2 hours from Bon to eat the malatang. It's a place well worth it. It was a bit expensive at 3 euros for 100g, but it was exactly what I was looking for. The reason the atmosphere is rated 4 stars is because the vibrating ringtone is too loud. I ate it at maximum spiciness, but it was slightly less spicy than Shin Ramyun. I thought it would have been better if it had been a little spicier. Oh, and the friendly staff made it even better. (Ask at the desk for WiFi) This costs about 14 euros.

I was eating there with my fiancée yesterday and when we came in they didn't want to explain to us how self-service works. He reacted annoyed, as if we should have known beforehand. The food was then served to us carelessly and didn't taste good according to the price. Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations and I won't be going there again.

Me and my fiancé didn't particularly like the food. But that's definitely a matter of taste. What made me suspicious was the unfriendly staff. Sultry, snooty and apparently not interested in customers. I was shocked. The ambience is good.

#### Update #### Unfortunately it has become more expensive and the service is really no longer good. The employee simply made me a completely wrong soup (soup instead of dry and tom yum instead of kimchi) and when I told her this she said I ordered it that way and that it was delicious and that I should eat it. Of course it wasn't my taste at all. Pretty dishonorable action... You can eat really good hotpot here. There is a lot to choose from and a good selection of toppings/sauces too! The price is also completely okay at €2.50 per 100g. What I thought was great is that there were disposable bibs. That way you definitely won't get dirty. Would love to come back here.

This has been my favorite food for 3 years! I would love to take this store with me everywhere. A taste explosion every time! I feel like I've been here 1000 times and every time I'm super happy and satisfied after eating. They've even been serving delicious bubble tea here for some time now! Simply the best store!

The ingredients are not fresh and sour. The service attitude was poor. I didn't see the bowl of food selection when I walked in and asked. The waiter didn't say anything the whole time. He just pointed to the place and raised his chin. If you don’t believe it, just eat it once and you will be honest🤣👉

It was my first time at this noodle bar. Cool concept: you take the ingredients yourself and they are then weighed. I think that's good because you can estimate for yourself how hungry you are at the moment. The noodle soup was incredibly delicious. The broth I used was chicken broth at the spiciest level. The soup was a really big portion. The spiciness wasn't really spicy for my Asian tongue but still ok. I definitely want to go again!

Shredded chicken and beef are often not available...To be honest, Malatang is average, but the shredded chicken tastes pretty good. If it wasn't for the chicken, I probably wouldn't have gone there these times...

Very good place to eat hotpot, I think the concept is great, I can set up my own portion so I can finish everything and you shouldn't have to throw away your food, so great! You can then take as much as you want and it will be bent and then you pay depending on how many grams you have taken. You could also choose the basic soup. There's even a bubble tea corner there, perfect! Unfortunately you can only pay in cash, but we are in Germany anyway.

The food was really delicious. You can choose which vegetables and meat you put in your soup, but the broth really makes the dish! Highly recommended. Service 4 stars because I went a little crazy with the beeping devices that let you know that your food is ready. Vibration would be a bit better.

Tried the non-soup version (sweet and sour) this time. I had to add an extra 1€ to the weighted balance. I actually prefer this version better to the soup. The condiments were full and I got myself some extra chicken salad. Overall very filling and price-worthy!! Great experience 👍

**Cash only*** Delicious malatang (麻辣烫), always better than expected. The types of meat here are mostly lamb and beef, you can also find fresh chicken and fish, plus homemade noodles and special shrimp balls, etc. Soup broth with Sichuan pepper is always recommended, but the rest of the flavors are wonderful too. You shouldn't miss soy milk even if you don't have an allergy to soy.

New experience for me . I recently visited Malabar in Aachen with my girlfriend for an early dinner. It was my first time there and I was intrigued by the unique dining experience. My friend explained that we should take a bowl and choose our own ingredients. After selecting our favourite ingredients, we went to the counter where we specified our desired spice level and chose between traditional chicken broth or another option. At the end, they weighed up our choices, including the ingredients and spices we had chosen, and we paid on that basis I was pleasantly surprised and delighted by this process. The atmosphere at Malabar was warm and welcoming and the food was incredibly tasty. Overall, it was a delightful experience that combined a fun, interactive element with delicious food.

Very tasty Chinese soups for which you can put together the ingredients yourself from a refrigerated shelf. Great idea! The bowls for the ingredients are huge - be careful! Don't overfill it, otherwise it will be expensive (100g costs €3). Very nice: in addition to the meat broth, there is also a good vegan version; with different 'flavors' (green pepper, sauerkraut, etc) it costs €1 more. Since the minimum quantity is 300g, after weighing you end up with at least 9 - 10 €, which is appropriate for the quality.

I got diarrhea after the dinner there

The food is very tasty, the service is very nice, everything is very clean. Only the music is very annoying, they only play weird KPOP songs with some computer sounds, which is very distracting and illogical for a Chinese restaurant. Not all of them are Gen Z teenagers with a Korean fetish, some come because the food is delicious :) Maybe a mix for a change

Food is nice, first time here I took light spicy food. Not too spicy for my asian tongue :D second time took the very spicy soup. A lot of condiments available that you can add to your soup. You can get seat easily as well, no waiting time.

Maybe we were unlucky, but our experience here wasn’t that great. The food is ok, but not amazing. Found two hairs in my food, which cut my appetite and couldn’t eat anymore. For me, hygiene in restaurants is very important. I liked the concept, that you can choose what you put in your soup, and the ingredients seemed fresh, but unfortunately, i wouldn’t return

Very tasty and varied frames because you can put them together yourself. It is probably relatively expensive and you have to know a bit about seasoning in order to optimize the taste with the spices provided.

The atmosphere is very nice, the staff is very friendly. The food was delicious, I had it slightly spicy, which was still extremely spicy (and I can actually tolerate spicy :) that made eating a little difficult for me, but overall it was a good idea and I will definitely eat it again. The price is also totally acceptable, the portions are very generous, the noodles are prepared in-house and are extremely filling. I'm looking forward to next time
