Mai Thai in Weißenhorn

My Thai husband and I have tried quite a few "authentic" Thai restaurants in Germany, and this one is deservedly among the top 5. We tried a lot, and everything was delicious. Quick, fresh preparation (even with Thai vegetables). We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.

I ordered Pad Thai with chicken for lunch today to take away. The food was ready within the stated 20 minutes. It came with a soggy spring roll. I threw it away; it was inedible. All I can say about my meal itself is, it was so bad. I've never had such bad Asian food in my life. The chicken smelled bad; there were a total of 10!!!! carrot slices in it, which were also frozen and not fresh. Besides the frozen carrots, there were a whole two sprouts in it. That's absolutely unacceptable! This place has seen better days. This is also reflected in the opening hours. As of February 2019, it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I wouldn't eat there at the regular prices. Too bad, I'd rather go somewhere else.

I ate there yesterday and got a tiny portion of beef, which was unfortunately tough. But you can't really stick it in there. It tasted great.

Unfortunately, we can't share the positive reviews, but as we all know, tastes differ, thank goodness. The ambiance was okay. The wood on some of the chairs at our table was cracked, and some were so unstable that you were afraid you'd end up sitting on the floor. Some background music might have enhanced the dining room and made it a bit more cozy. The menu arrived at the table, and the leather cover was covered in grease. The food was average; my duck was partly lukewarm and partly cold. The service was friendly and attentive.

Four of us dined at the restaurant today, and from the moment we greeted us to the moment we left, we experienced solid and professional service from start to finish. The lady who served us was very accommodating and extremely friendly. From the excellent starter to the subsequent main course, there wasn't a single thing to complain about. The papaya salad is a 1000% recommendation. The spice level of 40%-50% is definitely enough for an experienced "spicy eater"! For our main course, three of us had duck, and it was both juicy and incredibly delicious with the vegetables and a variety of sauces. If the rice isn't enough (which it always is), the friendly waitress comes over and asks if you need anything else. At the end, we were asked if we'd like a digestive, which wasn't a given, and all in all, it was simply a wonderful experience! Many thanks to the team, see you next time! ❤️

Delicious Thai food with authentic flavors and beautiful presentation. The stir-fried vegetables with beef were fresh, aromatic, and finished with a crispy topping. The crispy duck was wonderfully tender and flavorful, accompanied by a mild, vegetable-rich dish. To finish, we had mango with sticky rice, coconut milk, and nuts – a real highlight! Every detail was thoughtfully designed – from the ornate blue and white ceramic plates to the colorful, fragrant food. The service was warm, and the attention to detail in the kitchen and ambiance made the visit an unforgettable culinary experience. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates authentic Thai cuisine!

Unfortunately I live far too far away from this restaurant. The employee was very nice, attentive, patient, helpful and friendly. She also gave me very good advice on the level of spiciness and warned me not to choose 30% spiciness. And I have to say, if you're not used to spiciness, you shouldn't choose 10%. Thailand's food is extremely spicy. The food is wonderful and beautifully prepared and very, very tasty. We were totally thrilled and happy. The atmosphere seemed very authentic to me. There are even several places where you can sit on what appear to be comfortable mats on the floor. A nice idea in my opinion. Can only recommend this restaurant.

The lady at the reception doesn't look at you and just tells you where to sit without accompanying you. The ventilation is very poor, there is a smell of grease everywhere. I can understand everything, but I cannot understand the lack of friendliness and warmth in the catering industry. The waitress could be friendlier and have a more positive attitude. The food is average, not really impressive. 4 euros for a cold sauce? That's absurd. I don't think I'll come again.

Was there for lunch while passing through. Very friendly reception. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp. This turned out to be one of the best I've ever eaten outside of Thailand. The Tom Yum soup beforehand was also really good! Gladly again at any time.

What a gem in Weißenhorn. We had crispy duck with rice and once with egg noodles. It was exactly my taste. Very, very tasty. The duck was fresh, crispy, and appealing. All the ingredients were very fresh and the seasoning was just right. Highly recommended for lovers of Asian cuisine. :) We'll definitely be back.

We stopped here for lunch while passing through. The other users' positive reviews are fitting. The food was delicious and served quite quickly. Worth a trip again. And you can adjust the spiciness of the dishes yourself. I haven't been able to do that yet.

If you are looking for perfect and authentic Thai cuisine in the region, Mai Thai and the super friendly team are the right choice. I am an absolute fan of Thai cuisine and I am sure that no one in the region can top the perfectly coordinated dishes. The freshest ingredients, painstakingly prepared and prepared. I have the greatest respect for being able to put something like this together and perform it consistently. We like to come here any time. Not overcrowded with nice seating for a quiet meal inside or outside. Also a good tip to take away. Unfortunately I have to withdraw my once good rating! We went there for lunch about 10 days ago. Other staff!? Different chef!? The spring rolls as a starter (soup is no longer available?!) were just lukewarm and soggy (warmed up)! The duck was not crispy on the outside but pale and limp and extremely fatty and gristly. Probably just warmed up from the day before. We're not going there anymore!

So I really have to say that this food is too expensive. A portion 21 euros and for that money it's not worth it. You can get it much cheaper and it tastes much better too. So I was very disappointed.

Schon der Besuch der Räume war bezaubernd. Die Einrichtung ist wunderschön und man fühlt sich als wäre man schon im Urlaub. Der freundliche Empfang durch die Bedienung/Service hat mich sehr beeindruckt. Vor allem durch Kenntnisse der Speisekarte war schon sehr bemerkenswert. Obwohl selbst keine Thailänderin ist, hat sie es verstanden mich sehr gut zu beraten. Das Essen war phänomenal! Ich war so überrascht von der guten Qualität der Speisen. Natürlich habe ich schon etwas erwartet, aber so gut hätte ich nicht gedacht. Es ist einen oder mehrere Besuche wert. Das Mai Thai - Lokal in Weissenhorn hat mich sicherlich nicht zum letzten Mal gesehen und werde bald wieder den Weg dorthin finden. Ein ganz dickes Lob an das ganze Personal. Very fine Thai restaurant. Delicately seasoned dishes, beautifully presented. A bit higher price range....but you also get something special. We highly recommend the Mai Thai menu. 4 different types of dishes with different spiciness. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Ambience slightly playful but appealing. Waren kurz nach der Neueröffnung (neuer Besitzer) hier und haben unseren Abend sehr genossen. Sehr nette Bedienung und üppige Portionen, die geschmacklich überzeugen. Dementsprechend sehr zu empfehlen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist hervorragend, man wird mehr als satt! Auch die Einrichtung gibt einem das Gefühl, dass man in Thailand isst. Alles in allem war es ein Super Abend, wir kommen wieder!

Das Essen war hervorragend. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich. Wir saßen in einer ruhigen abgelegenen Nische und konnten das Essen genießen. Die Bedienungen kamen immer wieder vorbei, um uns nach unseren Wünschen zu fragen, aber ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Sehr schönes Ambiente, asiatisch kitschig, aber nicht zu viel. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Wir hatten über die Webseite online reserviert. Sonntag abend für 19.30. Als wir ankamen, war das Restaurant etwa halb voll. Von einer online Reservierung wüsste man nicht's, hat es dann geheißen und sie wären voll. Hat aber eher so ausgesehen, als wollte man keine Kunden mehr. Tja, nie wieder.

Sind gerade extra zum Restaurant gefahren um um 13:30 Uhr zu erfahren, dass die Küche bereits geschlossen hat. Sowohl auf der Website als auch in Google steht bis 14 Uhr geöffnet und es Mittagstisch gibt. Wir sind sehr enttäuscht.

Haben zwei mal Nudeln zum Abholen bestellt. Wollten das über das Online-System auf der Website bestellen, hat jedoch nicht funktioniert. Also standen wir dann da, wollten unser bestelltes Essen abholen, und mussten nochmal 15min warten, bis das Essen fertig war, weil sie keine Benachrichtigung vom System erhalten hat. Bedienung war dennoch bemüht. Essen war sehr gut. Jedoch sind fast 16 € für ein Vegetarisches Nudelgericht schon seehr preiswert, wie ich finde. Wir haben zwar nicht vor Ort gegessen, aber die Lokation sah sehr gemütlich und Thailändisch aus.

Wir kommen 1x die Woche und genießen ein Mittagsmenue. Das Essen ist immer frisch zubereitet und schmeckt vorzüglich. Getränke sind immer angenehm gekühlt und frisch. Die Bedienung und der Koch sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend🤗

Wir waren zum erstenmal, aufgrund der relativ guten Bewertungen, spontan hier und waren etwas entäuscht. Mein Gericht, war sehr Fischsoßenlastig. Das erste Gericht das wir bestellen wollten, gab es schon mal nicht (Som Tam), kann ich ja noch verstehen. Daß man TK Bohnen, speziell um diese Jahreszeit verwendet, ist verständlich, allerdings, was lasche TK Karotten in einem thailändischen Gericht zu suchen haben, entzieht sich komplett meinem Verständnis. Die thailändische Küche lebt, von der Frische der Produkte. Das Hähnchenfleisch auch schon oft in viel besserer Qualität, hier in Deutschland gegessen. Fazit: Kann man machen, muß man nicht. Wenn man des öfteren in Thailand war, dann weiß man ansatzweise, wie thailändische Küche schmecken sollte.

Das Hähnchen-Gericht sah etwas merkwürdig aus, schmeckte dennoch sehr gut. Ein Gast bestellte ein Gericht ohne eine bestimmte Zutat, kam trotzdem mit, aber er bekam es anstandslos ersetzt. Trotz zunächst nur einer Servicekraft wurden Getränke und Essen schnell serviert. Die Damen sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Dekoration der Räume ist teilweise etwas kitschig, einige Stühle recht wackelig. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis passt, wir werden wieder kommen.

Essen war sehr lecker und auch (laut der Aussage eines Mitessenden) sehr authentisch. Scharf bedeutet hier auch scharf. Trinken kam sofort nach Bestellung und Vorspeise hat vielleicht 5-10 Minuten gedauert. Also es ging alles sehr schnell. Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hat auch bei der Essensauswahl geholfen.

Wir waren wiedermal im Mai Thai Thai -Testaurant . Das Essen war wieder mega lecker.Wieder das Gefühl für paar Stunden in Thailand zu sein . Die Thai Bedinung wieder sehr nett. Danke schön für den Service, wir werde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen .

Das Essen war gut und das Personal war nett. Nur bei der Bezahlung fände ich es gut wenn eine bargeldlose Bezahlung möglich wäre. Man hat nicht immer 100 Euro in bar dabei um die Rechnung zu begleichen!

Mein Mann und ich kommen regelmäßig in dieses wirklich außergewöhnlich kulinarische thailändische Restaurant. Wir finden im ganzen Umkreis um Ulm und Neu Ulm nichts vergleichbares. Die Speisekarte ist sehr umfangreich,es wird mit viel Liebe zum Detail mit frischen Kräutern, individuell bestellbaren Schärfegraden, sehr guter Fleischqualität und immer frischem Gemüse gekocht. Für Liebhaber exzellenter Garnelen ist das Restaurant sehr zu empfehlen. Das Personal ist immer freundlich, der Küchenchef bei Fragen immer erreichbar und die Preise sind trotz Corona und der schweren Pandemiefolgen auch für die Gastronomie immernoch absolut adäquat. Wir möchten unbedingt hier eine Empfehlung abgeben,das Restaurant ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp im ländlichen Umfeld um Ulm!! Familie H., Neu Ulm, 47 J und 52 J

Wir haben das Restaurant besucht, da hier im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen asiatischen Restaurants in der Region wirklich thailändische Küche geboten wird. Allerdings waren wir enttäuscht, dass uns der Hauptgang erst exakt eineinhalb Stunden nach unserer Ankunft serviert wurde. Das Personal war freundlich, aber gehetzt, vermutlich hatten wir gerade eine Stoßzeit erwischt. Die Preise fanden wir für die gebotene solide, aber keineswegs raffinierte Qualität ziemlich hoch. Vor allem unsere Kinder wurden angesichts der langen Wartezeit ziemlich ungeduldig, so dass wir keinen entspannten Abend verbrachten. Schade!

Das Essen war gut, aber keine Erleuchtung. Curry mit Ente für 18.50€ - Da ist ist noch Luft nach oben, aber nicht Preislich. Ansonsten ist das Restaurant echt schön eingerichtet und personal herzig thai freundlich.

Sehr umfangreiche und vielfältige Speisekarte. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Ein Thailänder der sich vom Durchschnitt positiv abhebt. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Sowohl die Vorspeisen als auch die Hauptspeisen waren sehr lecker. Der Reis war gut gekocht und man konnte jederzeit nachbestellen. Mein Curry war wirklich sehr lecker. Die Kellnerin fragte mich, wie scharf ich es möchte in Prozent - ich wählte 80 % und es war echt erträglich (für die, die es nicht scharf mögen empfehle ich um einiges weniger). Gerne wieder! =)
