A lovely and charming restaurant with good food in a typical Bavarian town. The service was excellent, with special thanks to ours (we don't know his name, but he was from Croatia). We were just passing through, but would love to visit the area again. Definitely recommended for beer lovers, as they brew some very tasty beers themselves!

Although the Barfüßer is a chain restaurant, this doesn't detract from the cozy atmosphere, the great beer, and the good food. Very friendly service rounded off the visit to this lovely place.

On the menu, lentils with bacon, onions, wieners, and spaetzle were good, but the bacon was missing. When we asked about the bacon, we were told it was already on the shelf!!! A joke for a Swabian. 🤔😁😁

On our way back from our summer vacation in the south, we visited the Barfüßer in Weißenhorn on Saturday, August 30, 2025, after making an online reservation for four people. At first, we were ignored by three waiters – at the very latest, we knew we were back in Germany. At some point, an employee assigned us a comfortable table. In the end, the service was good and the food was delicious at a reasonable price, but a slight aftertaste remained. However, the restaurant's rustic ambiance and the free public parking nearby are worth mentioning. I would give it 4.5 stars. Since that's not possible, I'll give it 4 stars – as an incentive to improve the way we welcome guests.

Fantastically delicious beer, fresh on tap and from the barrel. The Schwarz beer is my absolute favorite; it's now in the top 3 of my Untappd app. The service is friendly and attentive, but it got increasingly busy, resulting in increasingly long waits for orders. That's the only area for improvement, because otherwise it's a truly wonderfully cozy place, with a beautiful location and stunning interior featuring the kettles, and even the restrooms are tip-top! Highly recommended. We only drank beer, but the food served by the people around us looked generous and very good.

A very cozy location. We sat outside in the beautiful weather, but there was also plenty of room inside. The interior is lovely, with its beer fermentation tanks. We were there for the beer and thoroughly enjoyed the Schwarzbier, among other things. But the other beers on tap are also very tasty. Definitely worth a try. Incidentally, the food served is plentiful and delicious. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

Very good food. Unfortunately, the service staff aired their internal disputes directly in front of the guests. Due to the small number of guests, it was unfortunately impossible to ignore them. We'll be back anyway.

It's a good place to drink beer! I would only eat here again in an emergency. So: Better to eat at home and then enjoy the pleasant atmosphere here.

A spontaneous Saturday evening: ox cheeks with spaetzle and gravy – really very good. The sausage salad was decent. The beer is famously fresh and has a fine flavor. Service is conventional and quite acceptable. All they're missing is a more attentive landlady or a dedicated brewer – then everything would certainly be even more personal...

We had dinner here today for our birthday. We go here regularly, but today was a disappointment. We had to wait over half an hour for our food. On top of that, there was loud, unpleasant music playing in the background, making it impossible to have a conversation. Please provide better service and more competent waitresses.

A brewery pub in a historic building (formerly the Fugger's Bräuhaus) in the center of Weißenhorn's old town. The decor is also in the traditional style of a beer hall, including solid maple tabletops. House-brewed beers are available on tap, including seasonal Märzen and Winterbier, and bottom-fermented beers are perfectly poured in a Willibecher, which still tastes best. The food selection is quite varied. There's something for every taste in generous portions. The service staff is consistently friendly, attentive, and prompt. In the warmer months, the south-facing terrace is a very quiet place to sit. An extra star is given for the fact that it's open all afternoon (!), so you can even stop in for a drink!

I was just out for dinner with my son. It was delicious. The falafel bowl was divine, and the roast beef with onions and cheese spaetzle was cooked to perfection, just the way my son requested it. I'll be back in a heartbeat. The service staff was friendly, prompt, and courteous. I do find the beer garden chairs a bit uncomfortable, but that's just my experience...

A restaurant, large and bright. I think you have to look for parking spaces, as far as I know they don't have their own. The staff was very friendly. The food was ok. The beer brewer caraway sauce tasted extremely like caraway, I thought it was a bit too much. The knuckle was very good, the bread dumpling was large but very, very dry. The roast was probably very tough. But tastes are different.

Tables are quite close to each other and very noisy when it is busy. You shouldn't eat there if you want to eat quietly. Fast service and good quality.

Always worth a visit. We'd love to come back

We were looking for a lunch table for 4 people at short notice for Easter Sunday and quickly found what we were looking for using the OpenTable app. We didn't know the “Barfüßer” in Weißenhorn yet and were pleasantly and positively surprised. We were warmly greeted and shown to our reserved table. It was busy, but the noise level was still low and we were quickly asked about our drink preferences by a friendly waiter. After a short wait, our drinks were served and we were able to order our food. I decided on the Barfüsser classic “Grandma Traudel’s Schwabenteller” for €25.90 (it was the most expensive dish on the menu). The three other orders were beer goulash, onion roast and Allgäu schnitzel. The dishes were served after a short wait and we were all very satisfied with the taste of the preparation, the amount of food and the friendly service.

We've eaten there twice within a week. I can recommend it without reservation. The prices are great, the food is incredibly delicious, and the service is super friendly and very attentive. You can enjoy a visit to the restaurant with all your senses.

Recommended. Excellent schnitzel, excellent beer, excellent coffee. Courteous, friendly, and fast. They welcomed us warmly, even though it was late, which is unusual for German restaurants. The place is nice, spacious, and has plenty of seating, but each table has its own private area.

The food and service were of the usual Barfüßer quality. The dining room on the ground floor could be a bit brighter, though.

We ordered dishes with pork and beef. The pork was very bloody, so I think it would be okay to ask how well done you want it. Speckles did not have any sauce on them, while the vegetables were not tasty. The plate with beef was ok, nothing special.

I'm often in the Ulm area for work and regularly stay at Riku. The food is generous and delicious, and the staff is particularly outstanding. Jessi and Nicole are extremely prompt and always polite.

Nachdem meine erste Bewertung nicht veröffentlichtlicht wurde, nun der 2. Versuch. Wir waren am 06.01.25 im Lokal Barfüßer Weißenhorn. Unsere vorherigen Erfahrungen waren durchweg positiv. Aber an diesem Tag war der Service und auch das Essen schlecht. Der Schweinebraten war verkocht. Zum Putenschnitzel gab es keine Spätzle. Die waren ausgegangen. Der Salat der dazu bestellt wurde, war ölig. Dazu wurde ein Getränk erst nach mehrfachem Hinweis an den Tisch gebracht. Alles in allem war es eine schlechte Idee, dort zu essen. Wir werden es uns zukünftig sehr überlegen ob wir nicht woanders essen gehen.

Everything was great! Immediately after the first bite, we noted the restaurant and bars for next time and saved them in our favorites. The friendly staff member wasn't stressed despite it being a Friday night—that's a sign of experience, which is unfortunately rare these days. She explained things to us and always finds a solution. Nevertheless, we'll make reservations next time to shorten the wait and optimize the process for both parties.

Als quasi Stammgast in Ihrem Haus habe ich beim letzten Essen mit Familie Ihre Empfehlung für die "Halbe Ente" angenommen und wir waren sehr enttäuscht...eine halbe Ente besteht aus Brust Flügel und Schlegel..serviert wurde ein Teilstück Brust und ein undefinierbares verschrumpeltes Stück Haut mit Sehnen..das ganze nicht knusprig sondern eher lasch. Knödel und Kraut ..na ja. Der Preis in jedem Fall zu hoch für sowas..beim Chinesen könnte man lernen wie Ente aussehen muss. Das nächste mal wieder was anderes...

weil wir eigentlich immer zufrieden waren haben wir unser Weihnachtsessen mit der Familie in den Barfüßer verlegt. (25Personen). Haben im Januar reserviert und mussten im Keller an 2 seperaten Tischen sitzen. NoGo. Das Essen war lauwarm und satt ist keiner geworden. Vom Geschmack leider auch sehr sehr enttäuschend dieses Mal. Ich war echt etwas anderes gewohnt. Nein ich werde nicht mehr wiederkommen und ich werde diese Lokalität auch nicht weiterempfehlen. Das einzig Positive an diesem Lokal war die Bedienung, die wirklich freundlich und sehr bemüht war.

A good restaurant in Weißenhorn's old town. It makes you want to stop by wearing a suit of plate armor. The house beer and the excellent German cuisine are worth mentioning. There's also a large selection of different books in the dining room. It's more of a decorative item, but if you like, you can browse while eating.

The food was excellent, as always. You can tell the soup and sauce are made with root vegetables. The young waitress was exceptionally friendly and attentive.

I give this 5 stars throughout! As a larger group, we were in the Barfüsser Weißenhorn for the first time and were absolutely satisfied. The ambience is exceptional, the service is perfect and the food is delicious! Whether grilled chicken breast, burger, Bierkutscher plate, venison goulash, duck or cheese spaetzle - top value for money! We would love to come back.

Top, food, service, drinks. And what was surprisingly great: really good ventilation. Despite the brewery and being reasonably well attended, there is very little CO2 concentration (below 600ppm). This is impressively good! Very helpful against infection in autumn and winter.

Das Essen ist sehr gut. Auch sonst ist es sehr urig und gemütlich.

Es war ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Unsere französischen Gäste haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt und die schwäbisch-bayerischen Gerichte genossen.

Essen war zwar lecker und die Bedienung freundlich, aber die Preise sind zwischenzeitlich heftig! 19,80 Euro für nen pflanzlichen Burger mit Pommes?! Finde ich nicht mehr angemessen.

Das Essen war sehr gut und reichhaltig, es ging wie immer sehr schnell und die Bedienung war super freundlich.
