Very nice restaurant. The food was very, very good. They catered to our requests excellently. They also catered very kindly to our little one (2 years old). We'd go back anytime.

I've been going to this restaurant for 20 years now. Maybe about 1 or 2 times a year. The Mai Tai is not an authentic Thai restaurant, but it has occasionally had relatively delicious food. The owners have changed several times, and as far as I know, there has never been a Thai owner or chef there. I've been to Thailand many times. My wife is Asian, and I've cooked in about 50 restaurants, hotels, etc., and a lot for myself (I'm a chef, or rather a restaurateur, myself). My visit, which I want to write about here, was two years ago. Strangely, it still bothers me somehow. It started with my phone reservation for my wedding anniversary with my wife, which I wanted to enjoy at Mai Tai. When I asked for candlelight and perhaps something nicely decorated on the table, I was turned away in a brusque and stressed manner. The lady simply hung up, and I wasn't sure if she had even understood me. We entered the restaurant and were seated at a bare table, and thus my inner question was answered. Well, "It's just like that," I told myself. To cut a long story short, we waited 1.5 hours until we got our appetizer (menu, drinks not included). Okay, we were looking forward to an appetizer platter for two people. What arrived had nothing to do with authentic Thai cuisine. It was a round platter with fried dough-things and two chicken satay skewers, and in the middle, a fire blazed from an aluminum tray of fuel paste, like the ones you can buy anywhere. Then I thought to myself, what am I supposed to grill over the flame? Probably not the fried shit from the freezer. Because basically everything was hot enough. Okay, I thought, it might make sense for the two satay skewers. No sooner said than done. Satay skewers seared over the fire (I'm no spoilsport) tasted of the greenish shimmering fuel paste after the chemical burn. Aha, I thought, show is more important than substance here these days. Oh well. I had a queasy feeling in my stomach when I thought about my main course. It didn't take that long and it took a lot longer to arrive than my wife's main course. I had chosen the classic Thai dish, which, by the way, has never been on the menu for 20 years. This made my anticipation of this dish all the more immense. But, as you can imagine, I was woefully disappointed. I got soggy noodles that had not the slightest DNA relationship to the traditional dish (Phat Thai). Oh well. I love spicy food and I mean really spicy food. So I seasoned my noodles with the pot that is on every table (in this case I was delighted. (Fresh chilies in fish sauce). Only...! the chili fish sauce was no longer hot enough. That can mean, for example, that if it runs out, no more chilies are added but only topped up with fish sauce. I then called the waitress over and asked for chilies. She told me, very rudely, that it was on the table. After a short discussion, she left, completely annoyed, and came back with two frozen chilies, which she passed from her hand to mine. That made me laugh and my day was saved.

Based on the reviews, we visited Mai-Tai. The interior is cozy and beautifully decorated. You can also sit outside, but then you're right on the street. It's definitely a bit more expensive. We had two Pad Thais, which we also really enjoyed—although we didn't like the chicken at all. We didn't have any appetizers, but they looked good on other guests' dishes. I recommend making a reservation during peak times, as it gets crowded. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, which we really enjoyed. We would come back :)

We were invited to dinner about two weeks ago. The food was very good 👍 almost like in Thailand. If you want, you can have your food Thai-spicy.

We stopped here for lunch after a long walk in the park. There was a lunch menu, the prices were fair, and the food was delicious. Overall, we had a good meal and a good meal. We'd be happy to come back.

Disappointed with my experience at this restaurant, the food is not as tasty as I expected and the portion is really small for the price, the service was terrible, the waitress treated us rude and badly. we asked for everything vegetarian and she brought us something with meat. a long wait. The place is nice but it is not worth it.

We enjoyed a lot the food (pad thai nothing special). We have encountered quite a lot of distance between the waiters and the client. A warmer approach could have made a huge difference in our dining experience. As a suggestion, a bilingual/ english version of the menu could make an impact.

We ended up here by chance for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the great food. Everything tasted excellent and was very nicely presented. Only one star less because there is no changing room 🫣 otherwise the staff was very friendly and loved children

Great restaurant with a new Asian atmosphere. There are both authentic and traditional Thai dishes as well as our own and new combinations, such as the fusion dishes. Both the food and the drinks were very tasty and at a very good price/performance ratio, which is rare to find at the moment. Service was also great, including advice and tips on the dishes. Everyone had 2 drinks, starter and main course.

The staff was very nice and friendly. Our drinks and delicious food came to the table quickly. Extras were also discussed. I can really recommend the Mai Tai. We would love to come back.

Super Laden für einen gemütlichen Abend. Service ziemlich nett und zuvorkommend. Wir mussten nur ab und an etwas warten bis wir weiter bedient wurden. Trotzdem 5 🌟 von mir. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Sehr ausgewählte Speisekarte aber die vorhandenen Speisen dafür sehr lecker. Die scharfe Hoisin-Soße ist genial und Gemüse und knuspriges Hähnchen genau richtig. Essen dauert immer etwas lang bis es kommt aber die Inneneinrichtung ist sehr aufwendig gemacht und sehr stimmig.

Tolles Essen, schönes Ambiente und eine super freundliche Bedienung. Man fühlt sich wohl hier.

Eine vielfältige Auswahl and thailändischen Speisen, alle sehr lecker. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gibt die Möglichkeit bei schönem Wetter auch draußen zu sitzen. Besonders kann ich die hausgemachten Limonaden empfehlen.

Das Essen super, die Bedienung absolut zuvorkommend und die Besitzer der Hammer. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend, mit richtig gutem Essen und leckeren Getränken. Ein muss für jeden und nur zu empfehlen... wir kommen nochmal wieder.

Haben pad thai zum mitnehmen genommen, war schon okay, aber nichts besondres.

Wir wurden von unserem Chef zum Essen eingeladen und es war ein fantastischer Abend bei tollem Essen, mit super Service und leckeren Getränken. Auf extra wünsche bei der Cocktailbestellung wurde ebenso eingegangen wie auf den extra Reis Wunsch. Reis für alle!!!! Ich hatte das Steak und kann es nur empfehlen. Leider gab es die Vorspeise mit Lachs nicht mehr (an diesem Abend) aber dann muss ich eben noch mal dort essen . 🤭 Die Kollegen hatten als Dessert gebackene Bananen, welche mit Eis serviert wurde. Zum Ende des Essens konnten wir einen tollen Obstbrand trinken. Ein Kollege hatte sich für die Sorte Ingwer entschieden und man denkt erst mal „uuhhh“ aber nein, er ist sehr süffig. Ich freue mich, bald wieder zu. Essen zu kommen . Danke Ming und danke ans Team Leider lässt Google meine Bilder nicht zu- also geht selber hin und genießt!

Allerbestes thailändisches Restaurant in Leipzig.

Wir waren heute hier spontan Essen und wurden sehr herzlich empfangen. Auf Nachfrage bei der Bestellung wurde bestens drauf eingegangen und wir waren am Ende wunschlos glücklich. Ich hatte hier mein bestes Phat Thai in Deutschland und auch die restlichen Gerichte waren köstlich. Ein Besuch können wir nur empfehlen. Weiter so und bis zum nächsten mal
