Review: A wonderful restaurant experience! The food was incredibly delicious and simply mouthwatering – prepared with love. The service was exceptionally friendly, warm, and very attentive. What was particularly nice was that they made a special effort to offer suitable vegetarian alternatives. All this in a charming half-timbered house, idyllically situated in the countryside – highly recommended!

I've been there twice this year and both times I've been very satisfied. The ambiance is classic and cozy. The service is super friendly, without being intrusive. I feel truly at home. And not unimportant: the food: home-style cooking, classics from the Bergisches Land region. Well prepared and reasonably priced.

We ate there today with three couples, and the first thing I noticed was the rotten advertising sign at the beginning of the parking lot, as well as the dead trees that stand by the parking lot; it doesn't look well-maintained. We had a reservation and got a seat in the beer garden. The seating was also very dated; after all, the mill dates back to 1700! The menu was clear, and it seemed like everything was freshly prepared. The beer garden filled up quite quickly. Drinks arrived, and so did the appetizers. The soup was really tasty. Then came the main courses, and we were unfortunately a bit shocked by the portion sizes. Veal schnitzel or cordon bleu with a handful of fries for €27 is quite substantial, and even the Zurich-style schnitzel, which only had six pieces of veal, was unfortunately too small for the money. When you go out to eat, you want to be full, but that evening we weren't. What struck us was that there were a lot of seniors sitting and eating there, and the portions were appropriate for them. But not for younger people. The service was excellent. We won't be coming here again.

A hidden gem in the countryside – highly recommended! What a wonderful place! The Mahnertmühle is idyllically situated in the middle of the forest, right next to a babbling brook – just the drive there feels like a mini-vacation. As soon as you get out of the car, all you hear is birdsong and the rushing water. Parking is plentiful and easily accessible, even though you feel like you're surrounded by nature – fantastic! The service? Warm, attentive, and with genuine Bergisch hospitality. You're not just served, but cared for – as if you were a long-lost regular. Particularly nice: the small, personal recommendations you receive. You immediately notice that this is a passionate team. The food is a poem! Regional, fresh, and prepared with love – from hearty classics to sophisticated game dishes, everything was a hit. I would particularly like to highlight the veal schnitzel with chanterelle mushrooms – crispy on the outside, tender as butter on the inside, and with a sauce you'll want to dig into. Vegetarians will also find their money's worth here. The location completes the experience: a rustic ambiance with lots of wood and loving details, cozy inside, and a wonderful terrace right by the stream outside – you can sit and enjoy for hours. In conclusion: Anyone who loves nature, good food, and warm service will love this inn just as much as we do. A place to return to, to relax, to enjoy.

Yesterday, nine of us went to the beer garden for lunch. After a standard mixed starter, we ordered à la carte. Despite the variety of dishes, everything was served at the same time. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service team was very attentive and always exceptionally friendly. During our meal, we are always asked if everything is okay or if we have any requests. We really enjoy going there. You just feel at home. Kahled and his team are very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive.

The food was good. We went there hungry, and unfortunately, we left hungry after the starter and main course. Unfortunately, the portions weren't in line with the price.

As "old Haan residents," we have valued this traditional establishment for many decades and have spent many family celebrations and pleasant evenings here. Mr. Dickel always had a friendly word and a personal greeting for his guests. However, what happened to us there this evening was deeply disappointing. As we entered the restaurant's cozy beer garden, we happened upon some old acquaintances, who then invited us to their table. The likely new manager kindly served us a drink upon request. After our friends had paid and left the restaurant, we were not served again despite repeated attempts by the service staff. It remains to be seen how long it will take until this establishment loses its loyal guests. In any case, we can no longer recommend it. What a shame.

No longer recommending! Unfortunately, the service at this restaurant has deteriorated significantly. After our drinks were served and it was clearly evident that we also wanted food, we were not served again despite asking twice for our order. The restaurant/beer garden wasn't particularly busy at that time. Since the service staff were no longer in sight, we left. We left the cash amount for the drinks on the table. It's a shame that the quality has also declined significantly in this restaurant.

Bad service, long wait for the food, salad never arrives despite repeated complaints. Portions are getting smaller and smaller, which can't be said for the prices. It used to be good, emphasis on was.

A very good traditional restaurant. In summer, you can sit in the lovely garden, and in winter, you can sit inside by the warm fireplace. Delicious food and simply top-notch service.

Mahnertmühle is a real insider tip. A listed half-timbered house with genuine, authentic German cuisine. All dishes are of outstanding quality, as is the service. In summer, the spacious and dreamy garden invites you to linger. Highly recommended.

We were privileged to celebrate my mother's birthday in this beautiful setting and were not disappointed in any way. Excellent, delicious food, attentive and very friendly service, a wonderful ambiance in the middle of the forest, yet still conveniently located. We'd love to come back.

Admittedly, my many years of loyalty to the Mahnertmühle have made me a little biased. None of my many visits have ever disappointed me, both with the service and the always freshly prepared food (which is also clearly stated on the menus!). A wide selection of drinks, desserts, and seasonal dishes, as well as the always attentive and very polite service staff, are the main criteria here. The restaurant itself is a listed building; it is well maintained and very clean. The outdoor area, directly on the Mahnerter Bach, is impressive due to its mature trees and its lack of excessive outdoor seating. A large parking lot and the direct proximity to the A46 (Haan-West exit) are also an excellent reason for travelers to stop by and round out the overall ensemble. My family and I will be happy to continue our loyalty to the Mahnertmühle and its owners.

Super friendly service, great atmosphere, absolutely delicious food. We spontaneously celebrated our 30th anniversary there; it couldn't have been more wonderful than there. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

We live in Düsseldorf, but always enjoy coming to the Mahnertmühle in Haan. The service is absolutely unique! We've rarely experienced such individual attention to guests' needs as in this wonderful restaurant with its unique flair and ambiance. Examples include: - the very friendly welcome - the appreciative service throughout the entire stay - when the meal is served, you're immediately informed that you can have seconds (where else can you get that?) - and at the end, you're even offered a digestif on the house, which makes the stay at the Mahnertmühle a wonderful experience from start to finish. We'll be back, that's for sure! AND soon 😊

We ate there with the whole family. From the service to the food itself, there was absolutely nothing to complain about. The outdoor ambiance in the summer is unique and I can highly recommend it to everyone. It's almost like a paradise. I highly recommend it!

I've known the Mahnertmühle since the late 1990s and have been there for dinner with my family several times, most recently in March 2000. The atmosphere was always special: well-dressed staff, friendly and unobtrusive service, excellent food, and the evenings there always had a special, very pleasant feel to them, reflecting the ambiance. Recently, at the end of May 2024, I was there for dinner for the first time in many years. Not only has a lot of time passed, but the staff and the food have also changed. It's a far cry from a pleasant, even special ambiance, but the interior, however, remains unchanged. The food was of substandard quality; the onion soup had no flavor, but was seasoned with a woody, solid spice; the fried potatoes were mushy and pale, the roast beef had a neutral flavor, and I wouldn't want to describe the tartar sauce in more detail. The food was served to us at a fast-food-like speed, and the prices, however, were kept at a premium. Okay, many years have passed between the two visits, and I'm one experience richer. When it comes to Mahnertmühle, I now say, "Once upon a time..."

The Mahnertmühle is a traditional restaurant in Haan. It's perfect for family celebrations or birthdays. The servers were very friendly, the wait time was reasonable, and the food was delicious (1x venison ragout/lamb ragout, 1x asparagus). We'd love to come back!

We celebrated our wedding here two years ago and really enjoy coming here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Overall you feel very comfortable and in good hands. Today we had our Christmas party in the Mahnertmühle. It was just great. The food was simply delicious and arrived really quickly. The service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We were even allowed to stay seated longer than the opening hours allowed because we had so much fun. Absolutely recommended. You will definitely see us there more often now.

Perfect goose, great service and a personal highlight! Our visit to the Mahnertmühle was a complete success. The goose was excellently prepared - juicy, incredibly tasty and with perfectly coordinated side dishes. The dessert and drinks were also great and rounded off the evening culinary. A special highlight was the surprise for my father's birthday: the staff brought a fountain for dessert and played Happy Birthday. This personal gesture made the evening unforgettable. The restaurant not only impresses with excellent cuisine, but also with a charming ambience and incredibly friendly, attentive service. The staff rounded off our evening with their friendliness and personal care. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended!

Delicious. We had game and it was very good. Service top! The atmosphere is very cozy for such an old house (first mentioned in 1725). Nice beer garden in summer. Nicely lit with large trees directly on the Mühlbach. We'll definitely be back.

Too bad about the geese! These were tasteless and dry. The only thing that was really good was the beef fillet, but unfortunately this dish didn't get any better with three croquettes and half a liter of store-bought Bearnaise. Shame about the meat!

Ate this today. 8 people. Order placed. Food was ok, not great but ok. Service which service. We still had to look for someone to come to the table for drinks. When we asked the chef for the bill we had to take action ourselves. The waitress came, put the bill on the table and left again. No, they don't pay together separately. If I pay around 80-90 euros for two, I can expect that people will at least be friendly

BIG SECRET TIP! Such wonderful service! You feel so well looked after and cared for. Great selection of food, great quality. We would have loved to try the menu up and down. But best of all was the espresso ice cream! It was a lovely evening all around (we were able to sit outside thanks to the nice weather) and we were fully looked after. When it got “shady” we were offered blankets. 😍 We now have a new favorite restaurant on our list.

The Mahnertmühle restaurant is located just outside Haan. The idyllic location and the old half-timbered house have their charm. Perfect for cycling and hiking tours. The menu includes regional dishes, the selection is good, and the service is friendly and courteous. The dishes we ordered were very appetizing and the portions were reasonable. The prices are moderate. A small point of criticism is the adjacent children's playground, which is unfortunately very outdated and therefore only usable to a limited extent. We would definitely recommend the Mahnertmühle restaurant.

Absolutely unfriendly! We wanted to make an appointment for a funeral service today. A friendly note that the restaurant was closed that day would have been enough for us. Instead we were sent away in the most unfriendly manner. It's a shame, since we've already celebrated very nice parties in the house.

Wunderschöne Lokalität mitten im grünen Haan mit tollem Biergarten. Ist immer einen Besuch wert, auch als Zwischenstop von der A46 oder A3.

Sehr gutes Essen, sehr freundliches Personal und alles in wunderschöner Umgebung. Wenn das Wetter es erlaubt, ist der Biergarten ein Muss.

Exzellent- Inhaber Dickel und sein Team haben uns sehr gut bewirtet. Besonders der Inhaber ist mit 69 Jahren immer noch aktiv und lässt es sich nicht nehmen, mit den Gästen ein Pläuschen zu halten. Das Haus, eine ehemalige Mühle von 1715, wurde während Corona renoviert, ohne seinen Charme zu verlieren. Klare Weiterempfehlung

Hier ist man bestens aufgehoben! Das Personal ist mehr als freundlich, aufmerksam und sympathisch. Das Essen ist gut bürgerlich und sehr zu empfehlen! Ich bin öfters da gewesen und bin jedes mal von der Qualität begeistert. Alles ist frisch und schmeckt einfach nur! Ich komme definitiv wieder und gebe zurecht 5 Sterne!!

Mahnertmühle - heute waren wir wieder hier. Es war ein bisschen wie heimkommen. Die Atmosphäre ist wie immer warm, wir fühlen uns erwartet, wir werden gefragt, wie es uns geht, der Tisch, wie immer sehr gepflegt eingedeckt, wartet schon… Wir erzählen uns etwas. Warmherzige junge Menschen die uns umsorgen. Das Essen ist frisch zubereitet, sehr lecker, freundlich serviert. Kein Wunsch bleibt unerfüllt. Wieder mal ein sehr schöner Abend unter liebevollen Menschen. Danke Euch 😘
