The food is authentic Indian cuisine. Serving portions are generous, complete with side dishes and dips to complement the main dish you ordered. Price is perfectly reasonable and affordable. Service is great and the interiors is cozy and warm, a great feeling for chilly autumn evenings. The chicken biryani was tender and delicious. I opted for non-spicy version, so that I can appreciate the taste more. We had a great time during our dinner.

Middle of the road indian place, good for a work lunch but nothing really special. Fine portions and complimentary naan bread tho. Waiter casually got my order of a small non bubbly water wrong and I got a large bubbly water.

Standard Indian: Can be done once, but too boring to do a second time We were there in the evening after arriving without a reservation. Located in a nice neighborhood, it's nice to sit outside. Service very nice. There was Butter Chicken and Chicken Jaipuri. Both dishes were too similar for my taste, tasty but by no means exceptional. Two naan is enough, and the rice portion wasn't skimped on either. Overall 3.5/5 for the main course. But for the free starter and the free dessert there are 4/5 points. Conclusion: I wouldn't go there again because it was too unspectacular. In a big city, I'd rather give another Indian restaurant the chance to convince me more. Nevertheless: it was delicious!

Great place near Stiglmaierplatz. I've been going there regularly for lunch for years. Delicious lunch menus at affordable prices. Always main course with either soup or salad. Absolutely delicious. Particularly great in summer because of the opportunity to sit outside.

Very friendly service and cozy atmosphere. My favorites are the Chicken Bharta, Haryali Kebap and Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi. Delivery is also quick and reliable. Highly Recommended!

I like to eat Indian food but this restaurant will probably have to wait in vain for me in the future. Ordered a drink, the papad and chicken bharta. The drink arrived very quickly and just a little later the three types of dips and a papad were on my table. Funny, because there were two pieces on the menu and not just one. A little confused, I asked the waiter and was told that the individual papad was a side dish and therefore free. Embarrassing for me and slightly angry, I thought, why didn't the waiter say that when I brought it? But the main course was the highlight of the day. The main ingredients of the meal, the meat and the chopped eggplant, you would literally have to look for with a magnifying glass and the taste was just spicy. You can also save on material costs at a price of 15.90 for a dish that won't fill you up.

Sehr gute indische Küche! Wir waren begeistert. Das Interieur passt und ist nicht überladen wie in vergleichbaren Restaurants. Wir hatten einen Zweiertisch für einen Sonntagabend 20 Uhr reserviert. Die Bestellung wurde mit Ach und Krach 25 Minuten später aufgenommen. Der Service ist schlecht organisiert mit zuvielen Tischen drin und draußen, mehr Personal hilft wegen der beengten Laufwege und beschränktem Platz zwischen Küche und Tresenbereich auch nicht weiter. Hier will der Gastronom zu viel und quetscht Tische in den Raum, dass es für den Gast nach Masse aussieht und für den Service nur noch Stress bewirkt. Das sieht man dem Team an! Schade.

Ein nettes Lokal, typisch eingerichtet. Arbeiten könnte man am Service. Obwohl ich telefonisch reserviert hatte, war kein Tisch reserviert. Ich bekam einen etwas ungünstigen Tisch (die Bestuhlung ist eh sehr eng) und bat um einen anderen. Dem wurde zähneknirschend entsprochen. Das Essen ist allerdings super, eine wirklich gute Küche und die Preise ok. Insgesamt zu empfehlen.

I went here half an hour before the kitchen closing time. It has a nice ambiance and was decently crowded, although it was a Saturday. I wanted a light meal, so I ordered Bhindi Chana and some garlic naan. Got white basmati rice with the Bhindi Chana. The Bhindi Chana was satisfactory. The percentage of Bhindi to the amount of Chana felt too less. The garlic naan with it made up for any shortcomings. The overall service was okay. The waiter genuinely asked if the amount of food we ordered would be sufficient for us, which was a nice gesture.

Delicious food and very friendly and attentive staff. I recommend the daal soup as a starter. The space itself is very small and therefore can get very crowded and loud, but still always a tasty and friendly experience.

For us, it has been the best, because most authentic, Indian restaurant in the greater Munich area for years. Fantastic food - also with a lot of spiciness - and very nice service. Be sure to make a reservation - it's always packed here for good reason!

Amazing authentic food! Loved the meal. The interior could be organized better, but the delicious food covers for all! The tables are close to one another. The head waiter did not let me sit where I want, although it was empty. Indian culture is very friendly and accommodating though, maybe the cold weather affects people. Anyhow, they were friendly later. The food is very good, I might order delivery next time!

Mittagsangebot ist preislich super und schmeckt auch sehr gut. Wenn der Reis nicht reicht, gibt es gratis Nachschub und die Reste können auch eingepackt werden. Der Service ist manchmal etwas langsam aber freundlich.

I have to say this is the first time in like ever that I felt disrespected as an Indian or even a human here. I visited this a few months ago while roaming in Munich. I asked can we have two tables and the old Indian manager responded "how do you guys come without an appointment in Hindi" . I have been to over over 50 restaurants across Germany and Europe too. Never has anyone asked me this question. He gave us two seats and a table so close to the wall so that we banged our heads when we got up from the seat. There were entirely empty tables outside and I was really mad. He could have said we have no place free or even asked us to wait in queue or something. I simply don't understand the extremely rude attitude of him. Sir with all due respect with age comes experience but also wisdom. I feel so sad that you have lost the chapter 1 of hospitality taught in India. Yes l have been living long in Germany to understand the value of appointments but never ever has anyone ever asked me in any restaurant "HOW DO YOU COME WITHOUT APPOINTMENT"

Sehr leckeres indisches Essen und sehr freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Großen Innen - und Aussenbereich, also genügend Platz gemütlich und lang zu essen. Die Portionen sind groß und im Gegensatz dazu nicht sehr teuer. Macht immer wieder Spaß dort zu Essen und Zeit mit Freunden zu verbringen. Lohnt sich auf jedenfall!

Es ist nach wie vor eines der besten indischen Restaurants in München. Es ist gut durch die Coronazeit gekommen. Der Service ist freundlich und das Essen gut. Die Inneneinrichtung ermöglicht einen angenehmen Aufenthalt.

Sehr gutes Essen, sehr freundliches Personal. Vor ca. 2 Jahren war der Geschmack des Essens noch mehr typisch indisch, auch etwas schärfer. Heute erschien uns der Geschmack etwas 'entschärft' und die typisch indische Note hat etwas gefehlt.

This is one of the authentic restaurants in Munich. Nice view with huge outdoor space and very welcoming. I visited the restaurant with a toddler. They made non spicy food especially for him. We appreciate the gesture and definitely recommend the restaurant if you are visiting with a kid.

The food was satisfactory overall. The staff were friendly. Having a reservation during peak hours proved to be helpful, although the closely placed tables made moving around a bit challenging. They accept card payments. Overall, with some improvements in seating and possibly enhancing the flavors, it has the potential to be an even better dining spot.

Samoin pääruoaksi ottamiemme Butter Chickenin ja Chicken Bhartan maku oli mitä parhain. Annoksien koko oli riittävä, eikä kumpikaan halunnut jälkiruokaa. Tarjoilu toimi hyvin ja hintataso oli kohtuullinen.

Insgesamt wars ok, aber das gewisse Etwas hat gefehlt. Die Einrichtung im Restaurant war eher einfach gehalten und das Essen ok aber ohne besondere Raffinesse. Insbesondere haben uns raffinierte Gewürze gefehlt und die Soße war sehr tomatenlastig.

a booking is recommended, we did go last Saturday with family and we have been served by Sandeep, very good service, excellent food and large portions, a bit of a wait from the moment we set down and after we ordered the food took 1 hour or a bit more until we could eat, but the place was full including the seats outside and the waiters all have been very busy serving other tables. So in short the wait was well worth it - prices where ok mid range we paid 120 Euros including tip for 4 adults and 1 child of 6 years

Das Maharani hält seinen Standard seit Jahren hoch und ist fast noch besser geworden. Das Essen ist vorzüglich, die Preis-Leistung stimmt und das Personal erledigt auch bei vollem Haus den Service professionell, unaufgeregt und sehr zuvorkommend. Jederzeit wieder.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and given the choice of sitting inside or outside. We ordered a meat thali and lamb chops, which we shared. The food was beautifully cooks and delicious. Very attentive staff too.

I've been living here in Munich for a while and this is my absolute favorite place to eat Indian food. I enjoy cooking and eating all sorts of asian cuisine and I really admire the way the dishes are seasoned and prepared. The staff has also been very professional and friendly every time I've been there. Especially during the week it is possible to find surprisingly inexpensive dishes that I can easily afford as a student, which is really good since the restaurant is near the university area. I can only recommend this place!

Wir besuchten das Maharani in einer Gruppe von 6 Personen. Wie bei unseren vergangenen Besuchen überzeugten die Gerichte durchweg. Die Speisen sind sehr würzig und geschmacksintensiv. Ein besonderes Highlight war die Nachspeise, eine indische Eiskreation (Kulfi). Im Vergleich mit der Vielzahl indischer Restaurants in München zählt das Maharani aus meiner Sicht hinsichtlich des Geschmacks der Gerichte mit zu den besten. Verbesserungspotential gibt es bei der Aufmerksamkeit des Service sowie der Präsentation der Gerichte. Das Ambiente ist einladend und gepflegt. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr fair, aus meiner Sicht als sehr preisgünstig einzustufen. Alles in allem empfehle ich einen Besuch weiter!
