Been here for dinner for the second time. And again not disappointed. The food is super tasty and the service is very friendly. A little note for the service: keep a closer eye on the guests' drinks replenishment. Otherwise, I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Butter Chicken was quite good. But more than disappointed with the naan bread. The dough wasn't baked properly. And it was looked after with tons of garlic. In the picture it's just a part that I scraped off. I will never order again

Price-performance ratio absolutely fine. 1 star deduction because the delivery unfortunately took over 100 minutes instead of the stated 75 minutes. We will definitely order there again and then just plan a little more time :)

Trying Indian food for the first time? You can do it well here! We were given good and friendly advice about what an average European palate can tolerate... Don't play the hero when it comes to hotness! This can ruin your whole meal. Level 2 out of four was still OK. If you are sensitive you should stay at 1. The appetizer plate for 2 people is like "Oh well" because everything was fried... Nevertheless, everything was delicious and some things took some getting used to... Try it out and be open to surprises! In any case, we didn't regret it!

Die Portionen waren mehr als reichlich und der Service ist freundlich und flott. Einfach ein netter Abend. Die Speisen werden alle frisch angerichtet also bitte ein bisschen Zeit einplanen.

Hello dear Maharajas team..., The food arrived almost after an hour... The starter was not tasty. The main course was delicious. The ambience is relaxed and airy. The service was good. The toilets were clean and even deodorant + sanitary pads in the women's toilets. So overall 3 stars. It was my first time eating Indian food and I will do so again.

We ordered food for 5 people and picked it up ourselves. The service ran smoothly and the food was ready at the agreed time. But what's more important than the service: it was really tasty. All five dishes were really good. And regarding the level of spiciness: 2 (out of 4) is already spicy. So if you don't want to be surprised, it's better to take 1... - at least that was our impression. Overall: an absolute recommendation!

Absolutely awful! The delivery took 2 hours, the food was an unsightly, indefinable, tasteless mush for all 4 dishes delivered. It's a shame, I rarely write reviews, but unfortunately I couldn't keep quiet about it... I don't know how they got 4.6 stars with 412 reviews here so far - somehow that can't be right...

Today I had a thali at Maharaja Indian Restaurant. The food was very tasty and well seasoned. There were many different dishes, all fresh and delicious. A great experience and the people are always very friendly

Ordering food to pick up for €36 was a disaster! Naan bread was completely burnt, it was a shame to give something like that out. Butter Chicken tasted nothing, bitter aftertaste. After complaining, the employee claims that they had no idea. “Customer is king” is a strange saying here. I hope you like my money.

We ordered here for three people and spent €60. The naan was a limp dough, even though it was burnt on the outside - overall inedible for all three. The main course was actually quite OK, I have eaten far worse Indian dishes. What's really disappointing is the portion size: it won't fill you up as an adult, both the rice and the meat and sauce portion are more in line with a children's menu. Paid the lesson, never again.

Today we ate together in the restaurant with our children (3 years old). We tried three starters and three main courses. Everything was delicious, fresh and, as far as I can tell, very authentic. Right at the beginning we had Madras Chai tea. Then as a starter, fried vegetables in chickpea flour, cheese naan and papardam. The papardam was served with three delicious dips. We found the fried vegetables particularly tasty. When it comes to the level of spiciness, you can choose between mild, spicy, North Indian and South Indian. I chose spicy for my chicken korma. The spiciness was strong but not dominant and rounded off the dish perfectly. The service was very friendly, you immediately felt welcome. This was our first visit to the Maharajas and we would definitely like to come back. Keep it up.

Delicious! Well, very tasty! We had a company of 7 people. We ordered vegetarian dishes, lamb in sauce, and meat in tandoor... The pleasant service also lifted our spirits))) We will be happy to come again.

We are new to the area and ordered here for the first time. Unfortunately it was a total failure! :( Maybe we had a bad day because I really can't explain all the positive reviews any other way. The food was unseasoned, the chana masala was a pink soup?!, the butter chicken was way too tomatoey and the chicken was reminiscent of cheap meat from the supermarket - NOTHING about it was tasty or authentic. Sorry, we love ordering Indian food, but unfortunately this shop is not for people who are used to very good, authentic Indian food!

We ordered via a delivery service last Sunday at 6 p.m. Before and during the order, the delivery time was stated as 35 - 45 minutes. Which is unrealistic for good Indian food. Immediately after ordering, the delivery time was suddenly given as 75-90 minutes. But it was only delivered after 150 minutes. We ordered at 6:00 p.m. and it wasn't delivered until 8:30 p.m. There was no apology from the supplier. This is unacceptable and we will not order from them again. Apart from the fact that the bread with garlic was slightly burnt, we enjoyed the food. April 28, 2024. I have to change my rating here. I have ordered two more times. It was delivered on time. The food was still delicious.

Were regulars so far but the quality of the food has declined significantly. The Tikka Masala tastes like frozen chicken in pureed tomatoes. In addition, you are always cold in the rooms, but we always accepted that for the food.

I am English and grew up with Indian food. We found a good restaurant in Leverkusen, but had to travel over an hour to get there. Have tried many in Moers, Duisburg area, never was the correct taste until we tried Maharajas. Absolutely tasty, best Peshwari naan ever. We jave now been here four times and has nit dissapointed yet. The onion bhaji (photo) is very generous, tasty and best eaten with at least 2 people!

We were there on Saturday afternoon, a warm day, there wasn't much going on. The staff is very polite, the seating is good and we like the atmosphere. There are colorful umbrellas hanging under the ceiling, which slowly turn in the warm wind from the open door, there is something meditative about it. Plus an incense stick and soft Indian music. When ordering, you specifically ask for the level of spiciness you want, very good! There is a good explanation of the spiciness levels printed on the card holder: Mildly European Spicy Spicy North Indian Very spicy South Indian We choose spicy and that suits us perfectly. First the mango lassi comes in a large glass with some ice. Not too sweet and perfect for the warm weather and spicy dishes. For the main courses you can choose between rice or naan as a side dish. Roti wasn't a problem either. The breads are large, look good and taste as it should. The portions of the dishes are decent. The spices, marinating of the meat and vegetables, in my case the spinach, are well balanced. The menu has a lot more to offer than other Indian restaurants, so we'll probably have to go there a few more times :)

We had reserved a table for 8 people, but when we arrived the hostess informed us that she had given the table to another group because she thought we were that group. But we immediately got a free table Unfortunately, we waited almost an hour for our entrees after we ordered. When our food finally arrived our orders were mixed up. I had ordered a lamb biryani but was given a vegetable biryani. The lamb curry seemed to have simply been mixed into the vegetable biryani as an afterthought. We were also served dishes that we did not order and some orders were brought twice. The hostess apologized for the mistakes and explained that it was very busy that day. However, there were a maximum of 20-25 people present during our time in the restaurant, even though it was a Saturday afternoon. The "Lamb" Biryani was disappointing while the Chicken Tikka was good. However, the butter chicken was too sweet. We received two free drinks as compensation, but overall our experience was pretty disappointing. Given the reviews the restaurant received, we were very disappointed.

Food to pick up, perfect order at a later date. Ambiance not rated. The taste is very good, I'm really satisfied. Chili Cheese Naan quite fiery :) The spiciness of the food was well measured, next time I'll test it a level higher.

So about the food, maybe the food didn't suit our taste. We generally like to eat Indian food often and look for reviews. But unfortunately we didn't like the food there at all. Service we had to wait 2 hours. Yes, it was a big event, but we were there for a good half an hour beforehand and even ordered before and still only got our starter after they had eaten. When the dishes were served, one dish was not allowed to be sheep-made and this dish was very sheep-made, even though we explicitly pointed this out several times when ordering. The restaurant was clean and looked very good. The decoration was very good. But unfortunately my conclusion is that the food wasn't tasty and the service wasn't good either. We won't come back as we've had much better Indian food. Nevertheless, I wish you continued success and hope that we were an exception.

The best Indian restaurant in the area! I've never had a dish here that wasn't tasty. My favorites are the Maharashas special chicken together with the Garlic Naan. The levels of spiciness are also great here, as you get more authentic spiciness. The service is very friendly and is happy to advise you on the dishes. Picking up food has always worked smoothly so far. The food was ready on time, provided and still warm here in Mülheim. The ambience is a bit old-fashioned and the only negative point that can be mentioned is that in winter only a small part of the dining room is heated with an electric oven, so it was very fresh. The bowling alley itself is in good condition, although the room is also a bit old. We'll definitely be happy to come back again and again!

We went to Maharajas Restaurant for the first time last Sunday. The service and the food were excellent. We had a lamb dish and two freshly cooked vegetarian curries. We'll definitely be back. Very good quality food. Service was very friendly, polite and a bit like staying with friends. I find the atmosphere a bit cold but we always enjoy going there. Last time we waited a very long time. Maybe they were understaffed. Maybe it would be better to let the guests know. But that was the first time like that. Otherwise, a family business as you would expect. Keep it up.

Wir waren in einer kleinen Gruppe und hatten schon Tage vorher einen Tisch reserviert. Nach dem wir ins dem um 18 Uhr noch sehr leerem Restaurant darum baten in dem vorderen Teil sitzen zu dürfen und nicht als einzige im Nebenraum war die Inhaberin/ Bedienung sehr unhöflich und übelst gelaunt. Knapp 50 Minuten für die ersten Getränke und knapp 2 Stunden bis zum essen in einer unfreundlichen Atmosphäre. Das Essen selbst war sehr lecker, konnte aber den Abend auch nicht mehr retten. Die Entschuldigung der Inhaber oberflächlich und nicht wirklich echt. Ein Lokal das man kein zweites Mal besucht.

A first class restaurant. The staff are polite and friendly, explain what you want to know and the food is also recommended. Value for money is incredible - you get a lot for your money. I've only been there twice, but I'm thrilled. The food is freshly prepared, so if you are in a hurry you will have problems there, the preparation of the food takes a while.

Wir haben hier für den zweiten Weihnachtstag 2023 einen Tisch für vier Personen online vorbestellt. Zur Info: Das war unser zweiter Besuch. Der erste Besuch war ähnlich. Wir wurden normal empfangen und und zu einem Tisch gebracht. Ich brauche keinen roten Teppich oder übertriebene Freundlichkeit. Am Tisch lagen weder irgendwelcher Untersetzer noch Besteck oder den üblichen Tischutensilien parat. Die Bestellung der Getränke (hier wurden wir noch mit "Sie" angesprochen) wurde aufgenommen und relativ zügig gebracht. Nach der Bestellung wurde uns eine kleine Vorspeise (Paratha mit drei Soßen) gebracht. Ok, netter Zug. Das war es aber schon. Nachdem der Kellner, der uns warum auch immer danach duzte, die Bestellung aufgenommen hat, schenkte uns danach kaum Beachtung. Auf dem Tisch standen lange Zeit vier leere Gläser. Das stieß sehr unangenehm auf. Zwischendurch wurde (auch bei anderen Gästen) nachgefragt, was bestellt wurde. Aufmerksamkeit sieht meiner Meinung nach definitiv anders aus. Zu bemerken ist, daß das Restaurant zu dem Zeitpunkt dünn besucht war. Das Essen war recht lecker, keine Frage, das kann man wirklich nicht anders beurteilen. Fazit im Ganzen: Hier gibt es im Umgang mit Kunden und der Aufmerksamkeit ein deutliches Verbesserungspotenzial. Ein bisschen Arbeit, welche nichts kostet, kann Wunder wirken. Eine Empfehlung kann ich hier nur Aufgrund des Geschmacks aussprechen, alles andere ist deutlich verbesserungswürdig. Eine Empfehlung möchte ich hier nicht aussprechen. An künftige Kunden: Überzeugt euch bitte selber.

Waren als große Gruppe (Familie) zum Kegeln und Essen dort. Das Essen war super, die Bedienung ebenfalls perfekt. Nur leider kam die schlechte Überraschung beim Bezahlen an der Kasse. Es wurde pro Gericht etwa 20 % mehr berechnet, als auf der Speisekarte stand. Man sage uns, dass die Speisekarte noch die alten Preise hat. Vorher wurden wir nicht drauf hingewiesen, daher war es sehr ärgerlich.

Ausgezeichnetes Essen, perfekt gewürzt, super lecker und eine große Auswahl, auch an vegetarischen Gerichten. Außerdem sehr freundliches, herzliches und aufmerksames Personal, das bestens beraten kann, wenn man Fragen zu den Gerichten hat. Sehr zu empfehlen <3

Das Essen hier ist hervorragend – authentisch, köstlich und jedes Gericht ein kulinarisches Highlight. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis: Die Portionen sind großzügig, und die Preise sind sehr fair. Das wahre Juwel dieses Restaurants ist jedoch die Bedienung. Das Personal ist außerordentlich freundlich und kompetent, bietet eine perfekte Beratung und sorgt dafür, dass jeder Besuch unvergesslich bleibt. Wir verlassen das Restaurant jedes Mal mit einem Lächeln und freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch.

Gestern Abend haben wir das "Maharajahs" besucht und es war eine Offenbarung für unsere Geschmacksknospen! Von der Atmosphäre und Einrichtung über das freundliche Personal bis hin zur köstlichen Speisekarte - alles war erstklassig. Die Kellnerin Sonja hat uns hervorragend betreut. Sie hatte großes Fachwissen über die Speisen und Getränke und hat uns kompetent beraten. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit wusste Sie, was wir mögen und hat uns die perfekten Gerichte empfohlen. Wir haben unter anderem die Chicken Tikka Masala, Dal Makhani und Naan Brot probiert. Die Aromen der Gewürze und die Zubereitung der Speisen waren absolut authentisch. Alles schmeckte frisch und war von bester Qualität. Im Vergleich zu anderen indischen Restaurants, die ich bisher besucht habe, war dieses das Beste! Es gibt keinen Zweifel, dass hier mit viel Liebe zum Detail gekocht wird. Das schmeckt man einfach mit jedem Bissen. Ich werde dieses Restaurant immer wieder besuchen und es wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Das Essen ist großartig und das Personal äußerst freundlich. Für mich das authentischste indische Restaurant der Stadt! 5 Sterne sind mehr als verdient.

Da ich ein Problem mit meiner Geldkarte hatte wurde mir trotz dieser Problematik, das Essen mitgegeben und ich könnte ruhig später bezahlen. Das Essen war mega lecker (wie immer :D ) und nicht nur das ich hatte das Gefühl das bei der Vorspeise aufgrund meiner angeschlagenen Situation nicht gespart wurde. Nicht nur wegen dieser Situation , sondern an sich, eine unfassbare nette Familie. Die Gerichte werden stets mit sehr viel Herz zubereitet. Und keine Angst bezüglich der Schärfe. Sie fragen immer nach wie scharf es sein soll. Man hat auch die Möglichkeit , nicht scharf , zu wählen . Vielen Dank noch mal ans Team und nur zu empfehlen. 👍🏽

Sehr gutes Restaurant. Nicht überladen dekoriert, sehr nettes Personal. Gute Speisekarte. Jedes Gericht kann in 3 - 4 verschiedenen Schärfegraden bestellt werden. So kommen die "Mild - Esser" wie auch die "Feuerspucker" auf ihre Kosten. Preise sind angemessen.

Waren das erste mal in einem indischen Restaurant. Und wir hätten uns am liebsten durch die Speisekarte durch gearbeitet. Es war alles so verdammt lecker!

Als wir an einem Samstag, vor einem Konzert, noch Essen wollte, sind wir auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Die Mitarbeiterin war so freundlich und hat sich um jeden einzelnen gekümmert, damit es für jeden zum Erlebnis wurde. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt und kommen gern wieder, wenn wir in der Nähe sind. Das Essen war Top, der Service war Spitze. Und für Veganer eine tolle Auswahl. Rundum, 100%ig Gut! Danke!

Wir wollten erst liefern lassen, die nette Mitarbeiterin hat uns jedoch am Telefon freundlicherweise darauf hingewiesen (es war Sonntag Abend), dass die Lieferung länger dauert. Wir sind dann vor Ort essen gewesen und haben zu zweit Aloo Baignan und Samosa, dazu Chai Tee bestellt. Es war alles hervorragend lecker und frisch zubereitet, normalerweise essen wir gerne eher mild, aber wir wurden dazu beraten "würzig" auszuprobieren. Beste Empfehlung! War nicht zu scharf aber hat sehr schön aufgewärmt. Sehr zu empfehlen, herzliche zuvorkommende Bedienung, schön eingerichtetes gemütliches Ambiente, schönes und sauberes gepflegtes Geschirr. Jedes Detail stimmte, vielen Dank, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Gezellig tentje met lekker eten en een vriendelijke dame.

Volle 5 Sterne. Hier gibt es nichts zu meckern, im Gegenteil. Extrem leckeres Essen, sehr freundliches Personal. Immer wieder gern.

Vriendelijk personeel. Bij het bestellen van de gerechten duidelijk aangegeven bij 1 gerecht dit pittig klaar te maken. Helaas was dit niet zo. Hiervoor hebben ze wel excuses aangeboden en kregen wij 1 rijst bowl gratis. Naan was lekker en zo ook tandoori chicken. De gerechten zijn met 1 en dezelfde saus klaargemaakt. Je kan beter gaan voor de gerechten uit de kleioven.

Sehr gutes familiär geführtes Restaurant mit authentischer indischer Küche. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Alle Speisen frisch zubereitet. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder.
