The food is good, but a more organized menu would be nice. Sometimes it's hard to tell what distinguishes a dish on page x from a seemingly identical dish on page y. Sometimes less is more. 😁

Everything fits together well. Good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and attentive staff. However, I didn't see an elevator. Access was via stairs.

👍 Great restaurant. The menu offers a good selection of Indian specialties. We opted for the ginger and garlic soup as a starter and the duck nilgiri – both were a real treat. It came with naan and various dips, ranging from spicy and hot to pleasantly sweet and mild. Overall, absolutely delicious!!! We were quite full and the generous portions left us completely satisfied. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We would describe the atmosphere as cozy. You could happily dine there like a maharaja (king) more often. The Minden City Theatre, the cathedral, and the central bus station are all very close by. And the food, soups, and spicy lamb and chicken dishes were very appetizing and wholesome. The service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is quite cozy, but the building is quite worn...

We had a really good and delicious meal here today

We ordered food through Lieferando for just under €75. When we received our order more than an hour and a half later, the food was cold and the portions were very small for the hefty price. A bowl of rice with very little sauce is a bit excessive for €16.90. We wouldn't order from here again.

We enjoyed the really affordable lunch on the balcony. Very friendly and attentive service and delicious food. We'll definitely be back! Thank you very much!

I've been visiting this restaurant regularly with my colleagues for many years and will continue to do so whenever possible. One reason for this is the very friendly service and the excellent and relatively inexpensive selection of food and drinks.

I haven't had Indian food in a long time and was pleasantly surprised. The tandoori dish is highly recommended.

We ordered food for five people over the phone to pick up. The food was good, but unfortunately, the 30-minute wait turned into another 30 minutes on the spot, for a total of 1 hour. Then, unfortunately, the order was incorrect, so we had to complain again, and we didn't get the 10% pickup discount. What a pity.

I was again very happy with the food after it wasn't so good a few times. You go to the 1st floor where the restaurant is located, the stairwell is unfortunately shabby and dirty, the restaurant itself is very cozy. We had lunch and the price-performance ratio was sensationally good. The waiter is very friendly. (It used to be different too)

Very good Indian restaurant... an institution and a top address for Minden and the surrounding area for many years. Very good and attentive service team combined with a first-class selection and quality of food are a combination that is hard to beat. We were very satisfied and will happily come back.

The last restaurant where I would want to try Indian food

The food tasted very good. The furnishings are nice and well maintained

Long waiting times. More than 90 minutes after ordering, it was noticed that parts of the ordered menus were not available. The staff was nice, but seemed overwhelmed by the situation. Maybe understaffed? The meals seemed to be kept warm instead of freshly prepared. The facility is getting old. The shine of bygone times seems to have somehow worn off. Too bad. Maybe we were just unlucky that day 🤷🏼‍♀️

We ordered two different dishes with rice, which had to be prepared differently for these dishes, the rice was brought in one vessel for two. They explained to us that it is mixed..you are serious..I wanted to feel the difference. We had to ask for a change of dish.. But it was delicious..

I was actually really happy to eat here because the place was recommended to me :) The starters were okay, not a blockbuster, but tasty. Unfortunately, the main course came and the Chicken Jalfrezei could have been chicken dipped in Hella curry sauce. There was no trace of the spices such as coriander, chili and garlic as well as the slightly spicy flavor. Instead, it tasted sweet and rather bland. Unfortunately it was my first and last visit :)

We ate here for the first time today and will definitely come back. The dishes were seasoned in a typical way, very tasty and the portion size was appropriate. Nice service too, but the address given here is no longer correct, the restaurant is now located at “Markt 15” on the first floor. We still come here every now and then, the food is still incredibly tasty. However, this constant “please pay in cash” is now annoying me, as we know what’s going on. In addition, we have already been made fun of several times when picking up (the 10% discount on picking up seems to depend on the day's form), so there are certainly no tips anymore.

Good Indian cuisine! Plates preheated, food served hot! The chapati could have been a little softer. The service is friendly and works quickly. The tables on the balcony were dirty today! Unfortunately, the table linen inside wasn't clean either. The lamb with yogurt was missing salt. 🥺

It is very suitable for trying Indian cuisine. There are dishes with a low to very high level of spiciness. As in all other restaurants, it is very curry and/or ginger heavy.

We like being there. The food is always really delicious. It's a little Indian hiding at the end of the shopping street. About the Mark 15. There is a harmonious atmosphere The only drawback is that you should take some time with you. Really good Indian food ! Felt like home away from home.

Today I was in the Indian restaurant "Maharaja" in Minden, at the market. I felt very comfortable in the tastefully decorated "Maharaja". I ate "beef karahi", pieces of beef fried in an Indian pan, with fresh ginger and peppers , tomatoes, onions and coriander, of course some Indian spices, and there was also "nan bread". The food tasted very "exotic", but it was super tasty, to put it a bit casually. The head of the "Maharaja" told me My questions about the beef fillet pot were answered very kindly. The Indian cuisine at "Maharaja" is a wonderful addition to my menu.

Very polite service. The lunch menu impresses with its good price-performance ratio. But of course like almost everywhere: pre-cooked meat cubes are warmed in the ordered sauce of the appropriate spiciness. The slightly trashy stairwell has existed for a long time.

Ich wollte nach längerer Zeit endlich mal wieder Indisch Essen und so haben wir die Anfahrt von 45min auf uns genommen. Mein Lieblingsgericht ist Vindaloo Chicken, welches ich auch bestellte. Das Essen war ok hat mich aber nicht begeistert und die Bedienung war sehr neutral in Bezug auf die Emotionen. Das Essen schmeckt etwas wie vorgekocht und war nicht so fein abgestimmt in Bezug auf die Gerwürze wie erwartet. Das Aloo Goobi war etwas fade und mein Vindaloo müsste eigentlich ein gutes Stück schärfer sein und mehr Kartoffeln enthalten? So kenne ich es zumindest aus vielen anderen Ind. Restaurants. Im Großen und Ganzen echt ok, aber dafür die 45min Anfahrt lohnen sich leider nicht für uns.

Schöner Laden mit sehr großer Auswahl. Curry ist sehr lecker, allerdings könnte das Hähnchen Zarter sein, weshalb es keine vollen 5 Sterne gibt, sondern nur 4.5. Gerade im Sommer kann man die kleine Terrasse empfehlen 😃

Sehr leckeres Essen und sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal

Das Essen war top. Ich war sehr zufrieden. Große leckere Portion.

Anlässlich unseres ersten Besuchs hatten wir uns jeweils für ein Thali entschieden, welches die Möglichkeit bietet 3 verschiedene Hauptspeisen zu probieren. Eines der Thalis war vegetarisch, das andere mit Fleisch. Der Kellner hat uns hier sehr gut beraten, welche Gerichte sich z.B. nicht für ein Thali eignen, so dass wir wirklich ein sehr variantenreiches Geschmackserlebnis mit nur einem Restaurantbesuch hatten. Alle Gerichte zeichneten sich durch einen individuellen und authentischen Geschmack (keine Einheitssoße für alles) sowie jeweils passende Gargrade bei Fleisch und Gemüse aus. Da wir so angetan waren, wurden wir mit hoher Rückfallgeschwindigkeit zu Wiederholungstätern und brachten noch eine Freundin mit. Auch beim zweiten Besuch waren alle Gerichte zu unser größten Zufriedenheit zubereitet. Bei der Bestellung wird zwar nach der Schärfe gefragt, wir wollten gerne sehr scharf essen und es war nach unserem Dafürhalten lediglich minimal scharf. Ich kann mir aber vorstellen, dass es hier bereits mehrfach leidvolle Erfahrungen (auf beiden Seiten) mit mitteleuropäischen Gaumen gab, die maximal ein Tabasco gewöhnt sind und sich für geübte „Scharfesser“ halten. Hinsichtlich des Ambientes könnte man im Gastraum aber ein wenig mehr rausholen, was für mich z.B. heißt: Tischdecken zu verwenden und die allgegenwertigen Kunststoffblumen zu entfernen Das Lokal ist insgesamt auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert!

Das Essen war sehr lecker, allerdings war es nicht mehr ganz heiß und eine unserer Bestellungen ist leider nicht eingetroffen. Nach Anrufen und Nachfragen der Bestellung wurde uns keine neue geliefert. Schade

Echt indische Küche. Wir lieben es! Das Essen ist wundervoll gewürzt. Ob mild oder scharf, die frischen Gewürze machen jedes Gericht zu einem Genuss. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt und der Service ist stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir fühlen und dort sehr wohl und kommen so oft es geht wieder!

Wie schon gesagt, die Toiletten.....Punktabzug aber immer noch viel besser als in Indien....

Bestes indisches Essen in Minden

Ich habe das Maharaja bisher geliebt.Als wir wieder einmal in Minden waren, stand es also ausser Frage, einen Tisch dort zu reservieren. Das Lokal ist vor einiger Zeit umgezogen und jetzt viel kleiner als vorher. Die Bestellung wurde schnell aufgenommen, die Getränke schnell serviert.Der Service war professionell und freundlich.Statt des bestellten Weißweins wurde mir zunächst ein Rotwein gebracht, aber okay, das kann passieren. Dann bestellten wir das Essen.Statt des Lammgerichts, das ich bestellt hatte, wurde Fisch gebracht.Meine vier Begleiter bekamen alles so, wie sie es bestellt hatten..Ich musste meine Bestellung noch einmal aufgeben, während alle Anderen schon assen. Das Essen, das mir dann serviert wurde, war weit unter dem Standard, den ich aus dem Maharaja gewohnt bin. Trockenes, undefinierbares Fleisch schwamm in einer labberigen hellbraunen ,wie mit Mondamin angedickten Sauce. Es fand sich keinerlei Gemüse in dem Lammgericht, es schmeckte fade und nichtssage nd. Das Mangolassi war sehr lecker, und der junge Kellner, dem ich auf seine Frage, ob alles in Ordnung war, ehrlich geantwortet habe, dass ich diese Frage leider nicht positiv beantworten könne, war aber sehr freundlich und bestätigte, dass es wohl einen neuen Koch gebe.Sehr schade, aber so bald zieht es mich wohl nicht zurück in dieses einst grandiose Lokal.

Wundervolles kleines Restaurant. Sehr zu empfehlen für alle die gerne etwas abseits des üblichen "italienisch-griechisch-Burger-Essen" ausprobieren wollen. Auch vegetarisch bietet die indische Küche einiges. Sehr schönes Ambiente und immer freundliche Mitarbeiter. Wer braucht schon Nachtisch wenn man auch Mango Lassi trinken kann?

Wir haben einen super schönen und extrem leckeren Abend hier verbracht und waren von der Bedienung sehr angetan. Super freundlich und zuvorkommend! Die vegetarische und vegane Auswahl ist wirklich gut. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Gute indische Küche, vegetarische Gerichte sind wirklich lecker, Portionen dürften aber ruhig etwas größer sein für den Preis. Bei den Gerichten zum Mitnehmen ist der Reis-Anteil im Vergleich zum eigentlichen Essen enorm hoch.

Die Speisen sind sehr gut, ob mild oder europäisch scharf gewürzt. Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und freundlich. Immer wieder ein gutes Essen.

Bin vor vielen Jahren mit Kunden aus Indien dort gewesen, hat ihnen gut gefallen. Nun mit der Famile mal da gewesen. Hat allen gut geschmeckt und gefallen. Gern wieder.

Essen sehr lecker …. Hatten ein Gericht für zwei mit Lamm … drei verschieden Gerichte, Salat , Nan und Joghurtsosse … dazu einen Lassi … war echt gut … von der Einrichtung nicht das modernste …

Waren gestern dort essen und wirklich positiv überrascht. Von Außen etwas unscheinbar, Innen sehr übersichtlich aber mit Charme. Das Essen war wirklich ein Knaller. Die Saucen zu den Papadam waren sehr lecker und auch das Hauptgericht war richtig gut. Zartes Lamm und eine gut gewürzte Sauce. Wirklich zu empfehlen und wir werden definitiv wiederkommen

Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und schnell. Somit haben wir nicht lange auf unsere bestellten Speisen und Getränke gewartet. Das Restaurant ist nicht groß, dafür aber typisch indisch dekoriert. Das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker, hier werden wir ganz sicher nochmal hinkommen. Die Toiletten hingegen haben mein Bild ein wenig zerstört, denn diese waren nicht wirklich sauber, da kam mir leider immer wieder der Gedanke hoch, wie die Sauberkeit wohl in der Küche ist. Wenn die Toilette beim nächsten Mal sauber ist, werde ich auf vier Sterne erhöhen. Dennoch vielen Dank für das tolle Essen 😋

Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung, viele leckere indische Gerichte bei denen man jeweils selber die Schärfe bestimmen darf. Alles hat sehr frisch und gut gewürzt geschmeckt. Dazu noch angemessene Preise. Auch die Einrichtung des Restaurants stimmt. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Delicious authentic Indian food

Freundlich und zuvor kommendes Personal, saß Essen war lecker und mehr als ausreichend. Leider die Soße und der Reis waren nicht richtig heiß. Aber wenn wir nochmal in Minden sind werden wir bestimmt wieder mal reinschauen und was essen.

Wir waren beeindruckt von der Vielfalt der Gerichte im indischen Restaurant. Die Aromen und Gewürze waren frisch und authentisch und jedes Gericht hatte seinen eigenen einzigartigen Geschmack. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit bei der Auswahl der Gerichte. Insbesondere die Grillplatte für 2 war unglaublich lecker und die Portionen waren großzügig. Wir können das Restaurant nur empfehlen und freuen uns darauf, wiederzukommen. Liebe Grüße aus Stolzenau
