We had a lovely cooking course here. Very fun and also infomative!

Together with a few friends we were guests for an Indian cooking course. At the beginning there was a short briefing from the owner with a focus on introducing the typical Indian spices and sampling them. Afterwards we went to chop and then into the small but nice kitchen. (We were there with 9 people + the owner & chef - it was a bit tight there, but it was clear by rotating). After cooking, there was logically the food, which was very tasty. I also had a mango lassi, which I can highly recommend. The course was very nice, very friendly and personable people there and we definitely learned a few things. We will definitely come here to eat again. Thanks :)

One of the best ever in germany. I tried most of the indian restaurants from Frankfurt to ravensburg but copper bowl was a gem. We had a tamil event and we asked buffet food for 200 people but litreally 230 members ate the delicious buffet. Price is also low. Really loved their hospitality and their taste. Will recommend for sure.

We organized a Pongal Event in Karlsruhe. I was in Food committee team where we selected Copper Bowl.. I have to say WOW amazing food and the Hospitality of the Rashmi(owner) is too good. I was proud enough to say that we made the right choice. Special votes to Ambur veg Briyani, kothu parotta, jawarisi coconut Payasam🤤 was literally mouth watering. We ate there yesterday and it was delicious! We received very good advice and also ordered the recommendation. Can only recommend it. It is important to reserve. The only shame is that it is so small and you only have 90 minutes to sit there.

Copper Bowl was our catering partner for "Pongal-2025" The food was amazing, and it was authentic South Indian taste. It is one of the very few restaurants that make this possible in Germany. The whole communication with the Owner was Transparent and respectful. We strongly recommend Copper Bowl for any big events.

I am from South Indian region and the food from the copper bowl gives me home feeling.Taste was so good but I expect some more spicy in that. The Dosa variety from here more recommended one.

We had reserved a table for 6 p.m. and drove especially from Schwäbisch Hall. However, when we arrived we were told that there was no free table for us. That was very disappointing, especially since we had a reservation. It would be better if the restaurant clearly stated from the beginning that a reservation is not possible instead of luring us with a confirmation. Unfortunately, our visit was a big disappointment. Super annoying 😡

We came across the small, lovingly furnished restaurant by chance and were thoroughly impressed! We were lucky enough to be able to take part in a traditional Indian feast where the food is served on banana leaves and eaten with hands. All dishes were vegetarian and also vegan upon request. It was incredibly tasty and varied in taste and no comparison to other Indian restaurants where they often serve greasy, heavy food. We can only recommend the Copper Bowl and have already tried the lunch menu and had a very good meal there too. What is also worth highlighting is the friendly and attentive service and the owner was also super friendly and explained everything well to us. We were happy to award five stars here. We'll definitely be back!

Ambiance is very good. We went on a Sunday evening for dinner - the system works on a reservation based approach. You need to book a table in their website and get their confirmation. The place is quite small and that’s why without reservation you will not get place to sit. Sundays they have ala carte options - we tried their copper bowl plate, onion uttapam and idli vada, they were very good and quite close to authentic South Indian style we can get in Germany.

First time having South Indian food, and it was tasty. It should be noted that we came mid-day Sunday, and only the brunch dish is offered during this time.

An absolute delight! The flavors reminded me of true South Indian home cooking—so fresh, aromatic, and full of love. The dosas with Chutneys and sambhar were outstanding. A must-visit spot in Esslingen for anyone who enjoys delicious, authentic food!

Food is really good. But the service is not up to the par. My husband got me a parcel of full meals a few days before. What I got was only sambar, poriyal, pappad, vada and a sweet. This is not the meals for which my husband paid. There was the this one other time when we were dining at the restaurant and they missed to provide some dishes to us. We didn’t want to make a fuss out of it but this was repeated quite a few times after that too especially if you are in the last batch on special occasions.

From the decor to the food to the service, everything was absolutely perfect! The server took the time to walk me through the menu and explained each item when it arrived to the table. Highly recommend!

Be sure to reserve. There are 5 tables and if they are taken, you can only hope that you can sit with someone We had 2 different variations (Dosa, idly, Vada), the latter of which I didn't know yet but it immediately took my palate by storm. All in all, a dream of pleasure

Came on 24th Nov 2024, Sunday brunch. Fantastic food. Especially the coin porota and salna. Authentic Madurai taste. Chef was from Madurai. I think this is the only pure veg south Indian restaurant in Stuttgart region and the team is really good.

After travelling from other city and walking long distance reached this place and they asked for reservations and I have not done it advance. They said they cannot accommodate me and not even bother to tell me wait for some time or let see if we can make any arrangements. Even there was a table empty. Quite surprising seems they don't want customers. I searched other hotel Delhi palace which is near by and bigger one with ample of sitting arrangements.

I have took 2 times lunch and it was very good. I feel like a home food. Best South Indian food.

It was very costly for the offered portions in the platter. The amount of Sambhar offered in the platter was a joke and you had to pay to get a normal portion. The taste was not good or bad, very average. The service was pathetic and it seemed like, the Indian guests are not preferred here. All together a normal restaurant only for European people to dine at a south Indian restaurant in the Stuttgart area, as there are no other options.

The Sunday brunch was wonderful. Very fine, varied dishes, and not too spicy even for Westerners. Mega cozy, quiet atmosphere and very friendly service.

A charming and cozy spot with a fantastic ambiance. The indoor seating is limited, so it’s a good idea to make a reservation ahead of time. However, I noticed a couple of families without reservations were able to get a table during lunch. The food is flavorful, with prices ranging from moderate to slightly high. The Thalis are generous and more than enough to satisfy an average appetite. The Mango Lassi is exceptional—easily the best I've had. It tastes incredibly fresh, like real mangoes were used, rather than packaged pulp.

I've been here twice. The food tastes very authentic and delicious. Once I was with my mother-in-law and after our vacation to my home country, she asked for Indian food. She was very happy with the food here. Second time I was here for Diwali. There was a buffet. Since we are vegan, they were very accommodating and served us more of the vegan dishes. There are limited seats in the restaurant, so reservations are recommended.

The Indian, vegetarian food is not only incredibly tasty, but also authentic and prepared with attention to detail. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, so you immediately feel at home. The staff is super nice and attentive, which makes the visit even more pleasant. We will definitely come back – absolute recommendation!”

I have visited this restaurant twice within 4 months. I didn’t write this review on my first visit as I wanted to give benefit of doubt. So in our two visits, ordering masala dosa, mysore dosa, uttapam and Parottha, I felt overall food taste is average, Sambhar felt like just warm water, Dosa contains just boiled potatoes, missing core spices and Salt. All items are overpriced and apparently restaurant is also saving by using almost no Salt and Spices. Only things we liked were Cola and Lassi. Suggestion to the restaurant- Price is not a problem, you may charge 2,4 euros here and there, but at least provide taste.

For the quality and portion size, I found the prices a bit unjustified. 3. Good Taste but Small Portions The food tasted great, especially the vadas. However, the portion of sambar was disappointing. You have to eat frugally to make the sambar last for two vadas. It felt like the portioning and balance weren’t well thought out. 4. Overall Overall, a pleasant experience with a few drawbacks. It’s worth a visit for the authentic South Indian food, but be prepared for smaller portions or to request extra!

Great food with combo options. Coffee was excellent - given in a traditional cup. One of the very few Indian restaurants in Germany that allow dogs. Definitely recommend!

A visit here is an absolute must for anyone who loves vegetarian dishes. The dishes are very delicious, full of flavors and spices, very filling and healthy. That was our first but definitely not our last visit. The advice on choosing dishes as a newcomer was great.

I enjoyed the food very much. Because I have no contact with Indian cuisine, I was able to get to know a lot of new things today. So many great dishes, so many (new to me) spices and flavors - just great! In general the atmosphere was extremely pleasant and relaxing

We had Onam sadya here a while ago and it was very authentic and delicious. Also had tasty masala dosa, idli sambhar and mango lassi on our other visits to this restaurant. If you like south indian vegetarian food, then this restaurant is a must visit. Tip: Make sure to reserve your table before going.

Authentische Süd Indische Essen. I will recommend only Idli, Vada and Dosa. All other items they are Not Profi. Very small place and more on their Heart is even smaller when you ask anything. Serving time is more due to Preparation but they should optimize IT.

Food is not worth the money and travel time. 40mins of travel is for nothing.

After a long time, went to this restaurant today for Onam sadhya . It was really an amazing feast. The dishes were so authentique especially the milk payasam, which tasted exactly like we get in Guruvayur temple in India. Although it is a limited meal, the restaurant people were flexible to an extent to serve some dishes multiple times. Although price fixed for the meal is somewhat on the higher side, for me it is worthy to spend once in a while for this kinda traditional authentique meal and for these many dishes, which we don’t get in other Indian restaurants in Germany. Also, if you are on time according to your slot , you will feel that these kinda Sunday brunch is properly organised.

The food was okay. I was disappointed that it was not served hot. The service is very slow. I person to take the order, attend calls, billing, and service and settling down customers during peak rush hour is a bit much.

We ordered food for a house party of 30 people, and everything arrived neatly packed, complete with proper utensils and a food warmer. The food was incredibly tasty and delicious, with more than enough quantity for everyone. Our guests loved the flavors and even expressed interest in visiting the restaurant themselves next time. If you're in the Stuttgart area, this restaurant is a must-try. The prices are also quite reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.

We invited our friends here because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, we all had a gastrointestinal infection for a whole week afterwards...

**if you are an hungry south indian and looking for good sized meal to satiate your hunger i would suggest to look else where** I recently visited Copper bowl with 5of my friends …and was unfortunately disappointed with the portion sizes. While the quality of the food was good, For the price, I expected a more generous serving, but what I received felt more like an appetizer than a main course. The flavors were enjoyable, and the service was friendly, but the small portions made the overall experience less satisfying. It felt like the restaurant was cutting corners in terms of quantity, which is disappointing given the cost. We ordered meal with… dosa, idli, wada and pakoda… they havent even given atleast two full spoons of chutney considering the items … when asked for the extra chutney… we were informed that we will have to order again from the menu… We again ordered two chutneys, and my friend wants to cancel one chutney… for which they denied saying once it is ordered they cannot cancel it citing the tax constraints.. we could understand if the dish had to be prepared and we cant cancel… here we are just talking about chutney which is pre made..a picture is worth a thousand words… just attaching a picture of sambar bucket.. how they are trying to cut corners to fool the customers in terms of quantity. The bucket is of the height of the spoon but the inside depth of the bucket is of spoons head. The quantity of rice in the rice meal is also pretty small. My female friend had to order one more bowl of rice.

I had one Mysore masala dosa and it was delicious 😋 If you are in this cute City and looking for Indian food, you must come here (especially dosa, idli, medhu vada,)

It's a lovely place for great South Indian food. If I lived in Esslingen, I would visit them at least twice a week 😀.

The finest South Indian Restaurant in Germany!

We were warmly welcomed. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy. The decor is so nice. We were shown photos of the dishes and explanations, and time was taken for this. And then the food came...it all went smoothly, we were pleasantly surprised at what we were served. The food is delicious!!! The fresh juices are made with care and taste delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful. If you are in Esselingen, the Copper Bowl is highly recommended!

Authentic Indian cuisine with a well-tolerated spiciness. I value this restaurant as a highlight for special occasions. Eating satisfies hunger and satisfies the appetite at the same time. Delicious!

Very tasty and mouth watering food. To me the only thing upset me that the quantity was a bit less according to the price. But I must say they did not do any compromise regarding the taste.

We had a great experience at Copperbowl during the name reveal ceremony of our daughter. We had opted for a Kerala Sadhya with 3 gravy items (Parippu curry, Morucurry, Sambhar), sides with Carrot beans thoran, Pineapple Pachadi, kadala masala, Aviyal. The rice was served with Ghee, pappad, Pickle, Curd. Also as sweet we had Kesari and Payasam. The experience was really authentic. We tasted the flavours of Kerala in Germany. A TRUE recommendation for anyone who wants to taste good quality food with quantity not only to fill your stomach but also your heart. The portion sizes were served separately for kids and adults to be thoughtful on the food wastage. Me, My family and my friends (35) of us do not have a different opinion on the quality, taste and quantity. It was a TRUE blessing to have yourself and your friends taste authentic, good quality food being at a far away land on a great occasion that you always remember in your life. Pls. Note : The photo posted here is without Kesari, Ghee and Curd. This was served separately.

It's a very cosy place with a superb ambiance. There are very few tables inside so needs to be reserved prior to the visit. Though I have seen 2-3 families come without reservations and got the table during lunchtime. The food is tasty and the prices are on the moderate to the higher side. The Thalis are fulfilling and more than sufficient for one average appetite person. Mango lassi is to die for. It's the best lassi that I have drank and felt like made of fresh mangos and not the packaged pulp. The service was good as well.

30.06.2024 : I understand how difficult it is to serve fresh South Indian food and am impressed by the variety of authentic dishes from different South Indian states. This is one place where I can eat at peace since my son also loves the food. Having cooked for family and guests at home, I know how much effort goes into prepping and serving fresh, hot, tasty food for each plate that goes out. My 5-year-old son, who is usually a picky eater, loved the food as well. He had a full meal, which is a rare occurrence. This speaks volumes about the taste of the food. The restaurant clearly takes great pride in their food, and it shows in the end product. The service was prompt and efficient, which added to the overall experience. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. I will definitely be visiting again next time, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious South Indian meal. They are trying new dishes Everytime I visit and today's Elai adi was perfect.

The shop serves authentic South Indian dishes, and they are delicious! The owners and staff are very friendly, offering recommendations and even showing us images of the food before we ordered. Though indoor seating is limited, the interior design is uniquely charming. Additionally, toilets are available. I have two suggestions: 1. Include photos of the dishes in the menu so customers can have a better idea of what to order. 2. Reduce the size of the digital menu PDF accessed via QR code. At over 200MB, it took more than three minutes to download. Other than that, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Esslingen!

On our way back to home, we called in around 13.00 to reserve a table at 14.00. The restaurant apparently shuts down at 14.30, but Rashmi(the owner) , was extremely friendly , hosted us with awesome food. Our kid loved the place as she was provided with Coloring book, choppu saaman to play with. We totally loved our short visit and we highly recommend anyone who misses south indian food to definitely visit them and relish the delicacies. Hearty thank you Copper Bowl

We usually visit on special occasions. Like always it is very fulfilling experience. It reminds of our wonderful time in Bangalore. The quality of food is really good and consistent over the years. The brunch is simply fantastic, fresh, authentic and super tasty. You can tell the quality of the ingredients and the love for food! The okra was the highlight for me. I had never prepared them like this before and they were really brilliant. For brunch I had mango lassi and masala chai. A visit to the Copperbowl is always like a little trip to India.

Authentic South Indian restaurant in the area. I have been visiting this restaurant for many years now mainly for Sunday brunch and am never disappointed. Visited restaurant for their special Banana leaf meal a couple of times, my husband and me enjoyed the meal and reminded us of India. I also used their catering service for one of the occasions. I am extremely satisfied with their service. Quality of food is top class and taste is amazing. I would highly recommend copper bowl restaurant for their authenticity, great taste, and a friendly customer service for catering. Thank you Team.

We were there for lunch today and what can I say. I think the food is brilliant. It reminds me a lot of my time in South India and tastes so authentic. You get different Indian food here than what you get elsewhere. And that's exactly what makes it so attractive for me. It's a shame that we live so far away, otherwise we would definitely come more often.

We visited last week and this place is not recommendable because the price is too high compared to the quantity. I have been to other restaurants in Stuttgart which are far better. My friend wrote a review last week and she was privately contacted to remove the review which makes me angry because Google reviews provide you a platform to write authentic feeling which you felt and give honest review. I am sure the owner will try to play innocent and reply this review with some weird answer... Let's wait and watch

Food is good. Availability of south Indian cuisines is a plus plus. Cost Okay.. i would suggest to keep the Indian restaurant alive and would also support. But something I don't like.. Food is something that should be sold sensibily And exploitation part.. they are chindi.. they give little sambar with the dish and charge as high as 2-3 euros for sambhar. And money for freebies like extra chutney etc etc. this kills the experience. And such restaurants can't expand their business. They'll be limited to just one-two restaurant only because of their small mindset.

The BEST PLACE to try authentic vegetarian south indian cuisine. I have dined in this place multiple times. Today I found through their instagram page that they will be serving idly with Veg paya. OMG.. it was OUT OF THE WORLD. This is the first time I see this dish in Germany. Hats off to the chef for such delicious food

Excellent vegetarian Indian food. Really authentic south Indian cuisine and unrivaled within the Stuttgart area. Occasionally special food events, for instance on 1 May we had a very tasty as well as sumptuous south Indian breakfast special without flying for six hours to southern India. The dishes explore the full Indian flavor cosmos without being too hot for European tastes Highly recommended.

Typical south Indian restaurant with lot of options for vegetarian lovers. Idlli, vada & masala dosa are always recommended. Must reserve before visiting. Place is little congested as there are only few tables inside. They also have outside seating. Mango lassi from here is a must try. Overall worth it.

Over rated, nothing great simple dosa’s way to expensive for what you eat.

Copper bowl is among the select few that serve closest authentic South Indian dishes. They have impressive vegetarian and vegan dishes that are definitely worth trying. If you prefer less oily food, it's a good idea to check with the server about which options are oily and which are not before placing your order.
