Luzifer Foerdeblick in Kiel

The food was delicious. We were invited to a birthday party. With 50 people, only one server (who did a great job, though) is a little too small for me. The ambiance and the view of the fjord were fantastic!

It's a lovely place to sit by the water, relax, and watch the boats go by. The food is good, the salads are crisp, and the portions are plentiful. The staff was friendly and attentive. However, some of the chairs are falling apart and urgently need replacing.

We stopped there for a coffee because we wanted to see the nearby lighthouse... We could have saved ourselves the trouble... The waiter made us wait 15 minutes even though there were only four tables occupied outside... Guests who arrived after us were served before us... but no matter... you still have to keep an eye on your table. We then ordered two latte macchiatos, one with lactose-free milk... Unfortunately, it had a sting and didn't taste good. I asked the waiter about it, and he said the milk was okay... He didn't offer any concessions on the price or a replacement, so no tip 🤷‍♂️... And then something about the outdoor seating: God knows it's seen better days and should be replaced... We can't comment on the interior, as we only sat outside, but I'll leave the restrooms out of the pictures... they really need some work... P.S. I can't comment on the food...

I like the ambiance; the view of the Kiel Fjord alone is something special. I had the "North German style" sauerfleisch (pork) which was very painful; the fried potatoes could have been crispier and not so soft! The staff was friendly!

The food is okay, but in my opinion, too expensive for "okay." Unfortunately, the value for money isn't quite right. Only the view of the water is nice in the summer.

A very nice place with a great view of Kiel Bay and the entrance and exit of the Kiel Canal. We really enjoyed the food. The price is reasonable. It was also great that our two dogs were allowed in.

Almost €25 per person for a breakfast buffet is quite steep. But then to offer cheap pre-baked rolls, extremely soft/almost melted butter, dry vegetables, and unrefrigerated cold cuts is a disgrace. And the price only includes water, tea, and filter coffee. (Orange juice is extra and very expensive.) A very disappointing experience despite the very nice view.

Anlässlich der Kieler Woche haben wir am 28.06.25 zu viert wie jedes Jahr das Luzifer zum Brunch gebucht und wurden sehr enttäuscht. Die Servicedamen waren wie immer top, das Essenangebot dafür schlechter als in den Vorjahren. An der Eierstation wurde nicht mehr auf Bestellung gebraten, sondern auf Vorrat mit dem Ergebnis , dass Spiegeleier und Rühreier auch längere Zeit warm gehalten wurden und nicht mehr frisch waren. Der große gegarte Lachs zum abschneiden wurde neben anderen Speisen eingespart, dafür aber der Preis um EUR 5 auf 24,90 erhöht. Auf der nächsten Kieler Woche 2026 werden wir in Laboe brunchen.

Wir waren, wie jedes Jahr zur Windjammer Parade zum Brunch da! Jedes Jahr wurde die Azseahl und der Anspruch immer schlechter!! Die Qualität des Buffets ist sehr einfach und anspruchslos! Es wird kein Essen nachgelegt. Einfache Aufbackbrötchen, viel Füllmaterial wie Götterspeise auf dem Tisch! Eine Mitarbeiterin war sehr freundlich und bemüht, die anderen sehr zuckrig oder unmotiviert! Außer der schönen Lage, biete das Lokal nichts mehr!! Wir kommen nicht weiter zum Brunch!!

After the two young men working in the beer garden looked at us several times but then didn't see fit to come to our table to take our order, we left after half an hour. Cutlery and napkins had been laid out on our table, so they should have served us! Well-trained and competent staff are certainly hard to find these days, but my wife and I will never set foot there again!

I went to dinner with four people on Whitsun Sunday. When we ordered, it wasn't mentioned that it was only a buffet. Naturally, we were disappointed with the buffet itself! The fish was dead twice, and the schnitzel was very dry. There were no boiled potatoes for the spinach or mushroom sauce. The pancakes cooked under the heat lamp were far too hard. We liked the rice pudding best! There was no signage either!

The view is stunning. Service could be friendlier and faster.

We sat in a beach chair on the terrace with a great view of the fjord. The location is great, but the coffee and cake weren't a highlight.

We celebrated our twins' communion there today and had a fantastic day. The preparatory meeting went very well, and all our requests were met. The table decorations we brought with us were lovingly arranged exactly as instructed. The service was excellent, and we were also very happy with the food. A perfect event for us, one we will remember fondly for a long time.

Service was good but the iced coffee is terrible. It tastes more like calcified tap water than coffee, the icing on the cake wasn't tasty either and the quarter scoop of Langnese vanilla ice cream tasted best. A tonic would have done the trick.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and phenomenal views

The USP here is the view of the fjord, of course. When the weather is good, this is unbeatable. The food is okay, but not outstanding. Service was friendly, but not necessarily very attentive. Nevertheless, I'll come back in the summer

It was a closed company today, but there was no direction anywhere. Called yesterday and was told to just come over. Ms. Wolff's management is absolutely overwhelmed. Unfortunately it wasn't completely clean either and the employees were standing there as ordered and not picked up. The view of the water is great, but that's the only positive thing you can say about the Lucifer I can't recommend it under any circumstances, you'd better give it a wide berth.

Easter Monday buffet. It's a shame to offer something like that on a holiday. There is no signage, fish is dry (all 3 types even the salmon) and no sauce for the fish. Meat is gray, the sauce is slippery, starters are something you can make yourself... tomatoes for bruschetta are swimming in juice, everything is bland. Desserts All mousse are soupy, Kaiserschmarren is dry and reminiscent of raisin rolls. Red jelly is not that either. I don't think they employ a trained chef. The ice cream was good. Also the jacket potatoes. Nothing was inedible that's why at least 2 stars

Phew - I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time! First the whole reservation went wrong, then we arrived as a family, we weren't served any more drinks, after we asked if we could also order, one came! Then an apple juice now costs €7!! Seriously 14 marks for apple juice! We were stunned!!! The crowning glory, however, was the changing table, which is a complete disgrace!! That you can even call it a changing table! I changed my child in the stroller!! She would definitely have caught some kind of illness on the changing table! There is an urgent need for action!! And in general it was really dirty there! We won't be coming back any time soon!

We were there with 20 people for the breakfast buffet and were completely thrilled. The selection was varied, fresh and very attractively presented. The price-performance ratio is great - you really get a lot of quality for a fair price. The location right on the fjord is simply fantastic and creates a great atmosphere. We would definitely like to come back!

Cleanliness? As long as you don't have to use the toilets (is there an increase in DISGUST?) or ignore the dust in every corner, it's just acceptable. The service staff are present and even smile when it comes to tipping when paying. I won't criticize the food. I experienced these experiences there again and again, tolerated individual slip-ups in good hope, but I would like to enjoy the beautiful view differently in the future.

We went for brunch. In 2 hours no one managed to refill our coffee. The offer was also pretty clear for the price. We were 12 people and will definitely not go there again.

So disappointed. Sunday buffet as bad as it was a few years ago. Sausages after 15 minutes. All? If the cheese is empty, you have to ask whether it will be refilled or whether there is no more cheese. Never again Lucifer.

Unfortunately I can only rate the service - and it was disappointing, grade 6. We were in the restaurant for a total of 25 minutes and sat near the children's playground as our son wanted to play there and we wanted to keep an eye on him. There were only a few guests in the outdoor area on the other side, but they were served regularly and attentively. However, no one showed up at our place. Despite multiple attempts to make eye contact with the staff, we were consistently ignored. In the meantime I went to the toilet - unfortunately it wasn't particularly clean either. After 25 minutes without any service, we left the restaurant again. It's a shame, because the impression could have been completely different.

For years there has been a desolate view from the outside that continues inside, unkempt, conceptless and dirty terrace, unmotivated team, average quality of food at high prices. This beautiful location deserves a different operator!

We were only able to order our drinks if we asked. The service was totally overwhelmed and the chef should be replaced. The food was served lukewarm, as was the beer. The cabbage salad is delivered, not even cut, as the service admitted. You notice it. The food doesn't seem to be tasted in the kitchen either. We canceled our family celebration because of the bad food. The positive thing about Fördeblick is the view of the water.

I went there once for breakfast about 2 years ago. I was thrilled then. Today I was very disappointed. When we got to the buffet at 10 a.m., a lot of the food was already empty and hadn't been replenished. Not to mention dessert. In addition, various plates were dirty and the food was dingily presented. The view is of course great and the service was also ok. But the food - to be honest, it was a disgrace!

Unfortunately a big disappointment. After 40 minutes of waiting, we were rudely informed that we could no longer sit on the terrace. So we sat down inside – but the waiting continued. When we finally asked if we could order, we were rudely turned away again with the words: “It’s not your turn now.” The store actually has potential, but the terrible staff ruins any atmosphere. If you value friendly service and quick service, this is definitely the wrong place for you. We won't be coming back.

Would give 0 stars if that were possible. It was just bad. The only good thing is the ambience - and that's obviously what people here are relying on. The highlight was the spider that crawled across our table. Absolutely not recommended! Unfriendly staff!

This restaurant was an absolute disgrace. From 4 p.m. there was no more coffee. We were there with 7 people. The staff was totally unfriendly and the doors were closed right in front of our eyes. Absolute non-insider tip... We hope that this restaurant closes its doors forever

We've often been there for brunch on Sundays. There was a large whole fish on the buffet and various fresh salads. Now we were there on a Saturday and very disappointed. No big fish, no fresh salads...everything very economical. No food will be added to the buffet if it is empty. Very unfortunate. The employees are very attentive and nice. The location is unbeatable!

I am deeply disappointed. The quality of the food was really not good. The salmon was mushy and basically not enough choice. During rush hour the buffet was empty and it took forever for anything to be refilled. I was there several times last year and it was bad... I really can't recommend it more. Too bad.

A real, solid northern German restaurant. I go there for a regular meeting about once a month.

Wir waren zum Frühstücksbüfett eingeladen. Das Büfett sah um 10 Uhr schon sehr leer aus. Es wurde nicht nachgelegt. Auf Nachfrage wurde mir Gesagt, man würde ja etwas sagen können, dann würde noch etwas kommen. Habe ich zweimal gemacht, passiert ist nichts. Sehr unaufmerksamer Service , das Büfett sah aus wie nach einem Überfall. Alles hatte den Touch von Schmuddel und nicht sauber. Die Kaffeekannen auf den Tischen sollten mal ordentlich geschrubbt werden, vor allem der Deckel. Der sieht aus , als ob dort Dreck von mehreren Wochen hängt. Was aber der Oberknaller ist: es wird extra das Hauseigene Wasser (Leitungswasser) angepriesen. Was vielleicht auch das Beste am ganzen Frühstück, also vielleicht zum Händewaschen, weil die Toiletten waren auch nicht sauber. Alles in allem : nie wieder!

We were invited to the breakfast buffet at 10:00 a.m. At this point the buffet looked very... clear. Watery scrambled eggs, the bacon floating in approx. 1cm of sol-fat mixture, baked rolls. Everything looked very dingy and unclean. There was no refill either. When I asked, I was told at 10:30 a.m. that the lunch guests would arrive at 11:30 a.m. (what a stupid answer) and if I wanted something I had to go to the kitchen. It is buffet and this term should perhaps be explained to the service and management. The key, however, is to advertise the tap water specifically. Furthermore, the toilets are unclean and the coffee pots on the tables need intensive cleaning, especially the lid

Mega bad service, very unfriendly, waitress (the restaurant management herself!!) rolled his eyes, totally annoyed. Always experienced very bad service there, wanted to give it one last chance. That was definitely my last time in this store!!

We always went there for brunch. Unfortunately, it got worse and worse and less, but more expensive. Fried eggs and bacon simply have to be made fresh and should not be left under a lamp, otherwise they become soggy and disgusting. Criticism is not tolerated there. The service was nice. The last visit with 20 guests was the last for all of us... What a shame Lucifer

Today we were there for breakfast with a larger group, like in previous years. We arrived at 9:30 am and the buffet no longer looked good, many dishes were empty and not refilled. Some even had mold! In some cases there was no cutlery or rugs available. The toilets were dirty and extremely dusty as if they hadn't been cleaned properly in a while. The big hit, however, was that we had to leave shortly after 11 a.m. Had nothing to do with a nice atmosphere. For us it was the last time.

The atmosphere is nice and the temporary staff assigned to us is friendly and helpful. But you don't actually have to explain to a new service worker that rooibos tea is not a type of wine (!) and that you don't go back to the kitchen empty-handed while other guests' used dishes are piled up on the tables next to you (!). But what I really found to be absolutely unaesthetic were the plates of food that came from the kitchen. A lot of them were really greasy on the back and had food residue on them. Either the temperature of the dishwasher was too low or the cleaning process was stopped prematurely (due to a lack of dishes?). I sorted out a lot of plates before I found a relatively clean plate. But the cutlery seemed clean to me. The meat (regardless of the type) looked very dry to me and at least not prepared that day, but just warmed up. The vegetables and fish were good. On the dessert table, where children also serve themselves and experience has shown that something goes wrong, you could wipe away a little when refilling the food instead of just adding the new bowls. Experience has shown that staff are always scarce on public holidays, but the basic rules of hygiene should always be adhered to.

The kale plate Lucifer style was a big disappointment compared to last year. Except for the cabbage sausage and the pork cheek, only a third is left. Also the kale and the fried potatoes 😔 The fried salmon is no longer translucent as expected. When it comes to cleanliness, when was the last time it was cleaned? The French fries are still on the floor from wherever, the salt and pepper shakers are dirty and stick together when you touch them. Water cooler also stuck and never cleaned inside. About the toilets, I'm at a loss for words, such a smell of urine, without words.

Nicely located. Sanitary facilities leave a lot to be desired. Otherwise recommended with a fantastic view of the water.

I read through some of the reviews... At first I was worried whether we would really be able to enjoy the day today. But we were convinced of the opposite. We were 14 adults and 5 children. Great breakfast buffet, plenty of choice, always freshly topped up. Service was top and the staff was super friendly. This will probably either have been improved, or it is due to the shift of the staff, there are such and such... In any case, we were completely satisfied today. We'd love to come back.

My experiences and those of my guests on October 20th, 2024, brunch as a birthday afterparty with 17 adults and 7 children aged 1-7. When we were there at 10 a.m., the buffet was pretty empty and wasn't refilled in a timely manner. No fresh rolls, just baked rolls. No choice of milk. There were no boiled eggs either; if you asked, you would have to wait 8 minutes. The dishes weren't labeled either. There were no bowls for pudding, only large soup bowls. All in all very unfriendly, inattentive staff. When booking I asked about the prices, adults €22.90 per person, children aged 6-10 pay €11.45, so far so good. The bill then showed 7 children billed at €11.45. When I asked why I should pay for all children, a waiter said it would be based on size. There was never any mention of it and then I spoke to a very unfriendly waitress who then said that only children aged 1-2 would not have to pay anything. I then asked for the restaurant management, lo and behold, I had just spoken to them. She could only refund me €22.90, but I still paid 3 children too much. For the reasons stated above, my guests and I cannot recommend Buffett. Frauke Nossing

A nice restaurant, the service was good and the kitchen quite quick. In the end it was too expensive for me for lunch (pasta, drink, salad, coffee) at €40.

Nice atmosphere with a great view. Unfortunately the Kaiserschmarn was a chopped pancake. We were told that it was North German. Since we come from Kiel, I have to question this a lot. Kaiserschmarn is Kaiserschmarn. The children's pancakes were very greasy.

The restaurant offers a very good view of the fjord. I don't know if anything has changed since my last visit, but in this restaurant you could tell that the mushroom cream sauce wasn't made in-house. This is definitely the case in other restaurants in the “Lucifer” chain. The white cabbage salad in curry dressing was also a bit “special”? The fried potatoes were ok - but nothing exceptional. All in all, I don't think the price/performance ratio is really fair.

Friendly event restaurant. From here you can easily observe the shipping traffic coming and going into the Kiel NOK lock. The turkey salad with vinegar and oil dressing was very tasty.

We had a very nice evening at Lucifer/Fördeblick yesterday! The sour meat with fried potatoes and remoulade was top notch, and the labskaus and matjes were also well received. What is particularly noteworthy is the very friendly, attentive service! Many thanks to the nice colleague and the entire Lucifer team. We'd love to come back!

Beautiful location, pleasant atmosphere outside and inside and very nice staff who make you forgive the bad tea and greasy, hard fried potatoes. Food is otherwise tasty and there is a good selection of dishes. I love the atmosphere with this great, slightly elevated view of the water.

The breakfast buffet is very rich and good. Until recently, bread and rolls were freshly baked on site. Unfortunately there are now only average baked goods, so a star deduction. A reservation makes sense as places are often in demand.

A wonderful location, sheltered with a view over the canal, plus really good food, with a Ninder and desert menu, great Asgaard beer and excellent attentive service. The cherry on the sundae is the ship's playground for the little ones. We enjoyed being there, felt very comfortable and would love to come back. I visited this restaurant for the first time today on August 8th, 2024 and I was very positively surprised. The service was really extremely friendly, our table was served by the nice Lars and I have to say that this friendly gentleman will definitely be a reason for me to visit this restaurant again. The food also tasted good, we asked while we were eating whether it was good and whether we needed anything else, you couldn't imagine it being any better. I will definitely come back and hope that I will get this friendly waiter again.

Fischgerichte super, toller Salat, Nudelgerichte lieblos und geschmacklos gekocht und präsentiert. Kuchen gab es 1× großes und schönes Stück und 1× kleines und verbackenes Endstück. Auch auf Nachfrage wurde die Tageskarte nicht gebracht, sonst war der Service gut. Gemütlicher Laden, sauber, rustikal, Blick auf die Förde reservieren.
