Lutter & Wegner Leipzig in Leipzig

I can overlook the fact that, despite having a reservation, we were seated at a very cramped table directly in front of the wine rack. I could also have forgiven the fact that the service seemed a bit inexperienced – for example, that the menu wasn't handed to the lady first – and that our order was initially forgotten (we were politely apologized for). What I find less understandable, however, is the pricing: A bottle of water for €9.50 and a Pepsi (0.4 l) for €8.00 are extremely high in my opinion. The much-praised schnitzel tasted okay, but lacked the typical rippled breading typical of a classic Wiener schnitzel. The side salad for €6.00 ​​was also quite small and lacked a lot of variety. Overall, the value for money was unfortunately not convincing. In my opinion, the restaurant failed to live up to the standards suggested by its appearance and prices. It's a shame – I had expected more based on the reviews.

A fantastic restaurant with outstanding cuisine and excellent service. Excellent value for money.

Four of us spontaneously got the last available table at this time on a holiday evening. The service was friendly and accommodating from the start. Two of us tried the much-praised Wiener schnitzel, and we also had the zander and another non-meat dish. Two of us preceded it with the special house sparkling wine. Highly recommended. The Radeberger on tap could also be offered in larger glasses than 0.3. Everything that came was to our complete satisfaction, even if the modular system for the schnitzel might take a little getting used to. The Kaiserschmarrn for dessert was only manageable through teamwork. We had fun, felt at home, and would gladly stop by again when we're in Leipzig.

Surely the best schnitzel in all of Leipzig. It's delicious with salad or baked potato. Very friendly and courteous service. Good beer. For dessert, of course, a homemade apple strudel. Price commensurate with the quality. The views are unbeatable.

The staff is extremely professional and very friendly – you immediately feel welcome. The ambiance is also beautifully designed, quiet and pleasant, ideal for a relaxed meal. I was particularly impressed by the attentive service staff, who always strive to anticipate guests' every need. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the high price. The taste was only average, and the food was served lukewarm, almost as if it had been reheated. What was particularly annoying was that I even found a hair in the food. This unfortunately significantly spoiled the overall impression. The quiet location is definitely a plus and invites you to linger, but the quality of the food doesn't quite live up to the expectations one would have at this price level.

Without a doubt the best Wiener Schnitzel outside of Vienna!!! We had dinner here to recharge after a long day at work. We started with a beef tartare, which was excellent. The egg yolk was fresh and served on top of the tartare, with a side salad and various breads. This was followed by by far the best schnitzel I've ever had in Germany. The service was very attentive and made our stay a very pleasant one.

A terrible experience. The table we chose in the morning turned out to be occupied. The system and another colleague were to blame... An extra glass of wine was given as an excuse: 2/3 for the man, 1/3 for the woman. Only corrected when we commented on it. The famous dessert, Kaiserschmearn, was ordered on time but didn't arrive. When we inquired, no apology. We then paid without dessert. Terribly poor service from this macho staff!

We had only an hour before our train. And we ordered a cheese plate, water and a glass of wine. It was wonderful. The waiter and the service in general were extremely friendly and professional. We were treated as well as the other guests. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I would gladly come back here again!

A lovely restaurant with good service. Certainly not cheap. A simple 0.2L glass of white wine costs 13 euros. Not everything went well, but it was resolved perfectly. The salad had to comply with a dietary requirement, and that didn't go well the first time. But it was quickly and efficiently resolved by the very friendly waiter. One schnitzel was juicy and good. The other was overcooked, too thin, and too dry. Must be a coincidence, as they rank high on the lists of "Good Schnitzels." Such a shame. The ambiance is wonderful. And when you have to walk more than 5,000 kilometers with the whole family and then build a new life, learn the language, and successfully complete university, among other things, we can only bow deeply. A very nice restaurant serving German/Austrian cuisine. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was excellent. I had the Sauerbraten, and it was truly outstanding, wonderfully flavorful and beautifully tender. The apple strudel for dessert is also highly recommended, and for those who enjoy wine with their meal, this is an ideal restaurant.

Nice ambience, really nice, attentive service, including very nice kitchen staff who know their craft very well! I've been eating regularly for a long time, but the prices have changed a lot since my last visit. Since I like to drink a cola with a meal, I was shocked to discover that a glass of cola now costs €8. Unfortunately that's a bit too much for my taste.

A lovely restaurant in a good location with excellent food. You can taste that everything is freshly prepared. The staff was friendly and accommodating to individual requests. I have to deduct one star for the fact that 0.75 liters of water cost an unbelievable €9.50. There's no reasonable calculation that justifies this exorbitant price. I'm fully aware that restaurants generate a large portion of their revenue from beverages, but if the general bad habit of not serving table water with meals prevails in Germany, as is common practice in other countries, then there's no need to sell water at such exorbitant prices.

The food was very good, the atmosphere was also very inviting, the prices were a bit higher because the food was fresh and you could even watch chefs preparing the dish. The fries were not homemade but were very crispy. Otherwise all the dishes were fresh and delicious.

Really great upscale restaurant with a great ambience. The gentleman who served us was so warm, humorous and nice... even though he was very stressed and we only came in for an apple strudel with coffee. By the way, the apple strudel was sensational.

Upscale ambience. Unlike many other places of this type, all the dishes are really big. I ordered apple strudel which only cost 8.5 euros - it was a really big, beautifully decorated dish (see photo).

The difficulty was the reservation; I received no response to an email even after four days; a call was only answered after numerous attempts over several days. A glass of champagne rosé was served moderately chilled for €23; The first glass was returned without any bubbles. The food was good, but not outstanding. The service was very friendly and attentive. All in all, after always having good experiences in the chain's restaurants in Berlin, I expected more.

Lutter & Wegner is a true gem among the restaurants in Leipzig! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy – a perfect place to meet up with friends or family. The food was consistently delicious, but the absolute highlight was definitely the veal Wienerschnitzel. It was tender, perfectly breaded and tasted heavenly. I chose the Pinot Gris Brunhilde and it was the perfect choice! The wine harmonized wonderfully with the schnitzel and rounded off the entire taste experience. A really successful evening that I can only recommend! The terrace looked very old fashioned and beautiful!

Service staff neither motivated nor attentive. Drink and eat yourself behind the counter instead of taking the guests' orders. The service was topped by the inedible steak! Meat already smelled obnoxious when it was served. But couldn't taste it right away because the cutlery was still missing. It was brought to me about 2 minutes later. The nose didn't deceive me, the meat was inedible! Had to return the food. No compensation offered. The waitress even wanted a tip. Lutter & Wegner, never again

We took this evening with humor, so it was bearable. I associate the name Luttter&Wegner with tradition and service. It is all the more surprising that there are a dozen service staff. One waitress has a white blouse that is too tight and white sneakers and the other waitress has black boots that are too big. Both were united by their black bra and their lack of knowledge of gastronomy. The latter is of course much heavier for a restaurant like this. Even the waiter couldn't save it. You couldn't even see how the plates or trays were being carried. For the starter, there was tartare, we had to ask for salt and pepper. Given the prices, I expect this to be done automatically. For the main course we were wished we had a good appetite, but it's a shame that we weren't given any cutlery. There were three waiters at the table and none of them knew what had just happened. In the end, no one came because of the shock. The menu is totally tattered and worn out. There was no drink service at all. With a little skill you could sell a lot more. Conclusion: terrible service, kitchen so-so, ambience quite outdated - price/performance is not there.

The advertised “best Wiener Schnitzel outside of Vienna” cannot be found here. Great atmosphere, pleasant service, but high prices. The espresso is more of a coffee, in taste and quantity - it should be off the menu immediately. The Lutter&Wegner sparkling wine is surprising, and the cigar selection is more visual than serious.

Von draußen sieht es vornehmen aus. Wein Sauvignon Blanc war OK Essen: Zander sehr heiß und sehr salzig, Spinat langweilig und auch sehr heiß und die Hammer waren die Kartoffeln ohne Geschmack, nicht frisch, weiße Farbe . Der Kellner spricht zu laut und nicht ehrlich freundlich.

I have never eaten such bad roast goose and duck. Everything was old and dry, the staff was wearing a suit that was probably from a container and the gentleman also had dirty fingernails. My conclusion for the entire gastronomy in this totally over-hyped city! Worst gastronomy in this Germany. Leipzig impresses with the worst gastronomy.

Unfortunately, we can only agree with the negative reviews. The service is friendly but inattentive, forgetful and didn't even manage to coordinate 2 starters and 4 mains. We first received the main courses. When we pointed out to the staff that we had ordered appetizers, everything went back to the kitchen. 2 minutes later the main courses were brought back. We were informed that the starter was out. However, our neighboring table received the tartare shortly afterwards, even though the guests came later and ordered after us. The food was tasty, but not really warm. The prices are not justified. You can eat much better in Leipzig!
