The ambiance was very nice, the food was OK, the portions weren't that great, but you have to say that the service was really strange. While you were eating, a girl kept giving you dirty looks and ignoring you if you had questions (the place wasn't even full). I wouldn't go there again, you just can't feel comfortable. Regards

I always enjoyed coming here and have often recommended the restaurant to others. The food was always very good, with a delicious side salad. Before and after each meal, there was always an ice-cold ouzo on the house. Unfortunately, things have been declining recently. Long waits, and the otherwise good service has deteriorated. They no longer serve ouzo at all (previously, they served it either before or after meals). The food made me feel unwell (stomach) after my last visit. Tips are apparently now actively demanded, in a very unpleasant manner. Are we in America? When asked, ouzo was only available in exchange for a tip (at least!)...if I understood correctly. It was very unpleasant. My enthusiasm has waned considerably. What a shame.

It was like being in Greece. It was simply beautiful outside. I'd love to go back anytime.

Nice location, okay food, but unfortunately, the service for non-regulars is poor. The wait staff barely paid attention, the food and side dishes were forgotten, and no ouzo was added to the bill. We won't be eating there again.

Unfortunately, one of the meals was delivered incorrectly. I tried to fix the problem over the phone. When they asked what Lukullus should do, and I said they should please fix the error because I didn't want to give a bad review, they rudely told me to do it and then hung up!!! Absolutely unprofessional! The food was okay, by the way, but you can get it much cheaper at a chip shop.

Service was great, food was ok.

Whether summer or winter, we always enjoy coming here. A family-run business with heart, excellent food, and a highlight, especially in summer, outside. The appetizers and a look at the daily specials are always worth it. We're happy to drive 30 km there hungry and 30 km back stuffed. Prices are for several appetizers, two main courses, two desserts, and numerous drinks divided by two.

This is what you imagine when you go out to eat. A wonderful evening with outstanding food and perfect hosts. It feels like a vacation.

It was delicious and the portions were really good. The gyro was cooked to perfection, just as it should be. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The owner also served everyone very kindly and took great care of the guests. The restaurant also has a small playground. We were very satisfied and will definitely come back.

The interior ambiance resembles a company cafeteria. The portions are manageable. The service isn't great; we had to order drinks four times and then it took half an hour to get them.

A great restaurant to enjoy greek food with friends and family. Everything was so tasty and delicious, especially the gyros. The staff were polite and friendly, and they could speak German, Greek and English! Also the decoration was so beautiful..Outside there is a playground where kids can play while the parents are enjoying their meal… 5 stars

I was really looking forward to inviting my guests to Lukulus, but the disappointment was quite sobering. The outside is great, but the conservatory is too noisy, making it difficult to relax and enjoy. The food is good, but if it takes too long, it becomes uncomfortable, and tables are needed again. The waiters cleared the table even though someone was still eating. I find this very unfriendly.

I had the opportunity to DJ here at a friend's wedding, and it was an all-around successful and unforgettable evening. The organization was incredibly good, and the team here was simply fantastic, friendly, and very attentive. The food is simply fantastic! Highly recommended!

That was my first and last visit to the restaurant. The menu was manageable but okay, everyone found something. The food came quickly and was really tasty!! But what wasn't working was the impatience and unfriendliness of the waiters! The face always said “what do you want here”. I have rarely experienced something like this and can do without it!

We felt very comfortable and the service was A1. The food once again surpassed everything. The lamb was spot on. That wasn't the last time we will spend a cozy evening there.

Wanted to eat there for our wedding anniversary. Everything was ok until my rump steak arrived. Unfortunately the rum steak was not medium rare as ordered. When I told the waiter this, the manager of the house came and said that the steak was ok. When I explained to him that medium rare looked a little different and wasn't cooked through, he became annoyed and complained loudly in Greek instead of coming to meet me as a guest. No report, it's a shame but never here again!!!!!!!!!!

It's a shame... I've known the beer garden at Lukullus for almost 40 years, but I haven't visited it for a long time since I left Gladbach. Today it was that time again, Sunday, early balmy evening and something delicious to eat, nice and chilled out. That was the idea that was burned into my childhood... But the truth in 2025 was different. The charm of the benches made of half tree trunks, the always friendly boss who didn't miss the opportunity to greet every guest personally, the fundamentally sociable atmosphere... was no longer there. Instead, we waited long enough to notice the lost charm before we were allowed to order drinks. Since someone was obviously able to read my mind, things went a little quicker after that, to put it politely. The waiter who took our order was very impatient and slightly irritated, especially when he refused our request to have the sauce separately with the meat, saying that the kitchen couldn't do that. So either with or without sauce...!? Because of our mental derangement, we didn't get up immediately and leave, but instead stayed, forced by hunger. The food was okay, probably due to the slightly bitter aftertaste of the service. However, the portion size has shrunk, so my tip to the restaurateur is to use smaller plates so that the food doesn't look so lost. The playground was inspected by the juvenile support team and judged to be old, including a significantly increased risk of injury. All in all, I'll save myself a visit here in the future and stop at my Greek chip shop, it only costs a third and the guy Hunter at the counter is at least friendly.

If you don't feel like entertaining guests at Easter, you should keep the kitchen closed. Service was okay as always, but the food left a lot of room for improvement. I've always been completely satisfied, but yesterday was my last visit there for the time being. I too have to work for my money and deliver a certain level of quality.

We are very excited about this wonderful Greek temple in the middle of a quiet environment in Mönchengladbach. All dishes are highly recommended. We prefer to eat the starters - preferably all in the middle of the table. No matter whether it's the changing daily menu or the personal recommendation from the boss, everything is great!

Every time I come I am amazed by the hospitality, the atmosphere and the food. I'm looking forward to next time.

Today we have a comedy night "10th comic night" Visited the location. The name “weird” said it all! Despite the menu showing the restaurant and free choice of seating, we were given a beer tent bar table set as a seat. The Greek cuisine was great, with compliments to the chef. However, the space was very unusual, eating standing up was a challenge that you had to accept. 4 1/2 hours on a wooden bar stool at a bar table is not comfortable. Unfortunately, the junior boss did not accept our concerns and dismissed us with the words: "There is definitely room for you at ninety nine mönchengladbach." We referred to the map with the restaurant and free choice of seats noted! The remark that one could no longer sell tickets as seats were available was answered with a definite: "Yes you can!" answered. However, we enjoyed the comedy program and the food. However, the bar table assigned did not correspond to our cozy evening in a Greek restaurant, as guests with a budget of €200 (tickets, food, drinks) expect more. We cannot recommend the location for such events.

Ich hatte einen wunderbaren Abend im Restaurant Lukullus! Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und einladend, perfekt für ein entspanntes Dinner. Das Essen war hervorragend – frisch zubereitet und geschmacklich ein Genuss. Besonders die Auswahl an Gerichten hat mich begeistert. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich, was das Erlebnis noch angenehmer machte. Ich kann Lukullus nur wärmstens empfehlen und freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch!

Have been here regularly for many years. I really like it in the summer because the beer garden is really beautiful and has a great atmosphere. We have always been served quickly, special requests have not been a problem and it has always been delicious.

A real highlight among the Greek restaurants in Germany! This in a place as difficult as Mönchengladbach. Here the balancing act of customer requests for Metaxa sauce with grilled plates and the preference for more authentic Greek cuisine is achieved. The ambience was really very nice, modern and clean, but the food wasn't that good (I have to say that's my opinion) the meat wasn't seasoned and the sauce was over seasoned. I had filet with mushroom sauce and fries. The fries were also not salted and not good quality like cheap fries. It was my feeling. Price-performance was okay. 4 employees were on site 2 out of 4 said goodbye when you said goodbye (maybe they were having a bad day) but you could tell they were already in a bad mood. In addition, we were there with a stroller and since it is quite difficult to hold a door open at the exit and push the stroller out at the same time, I was very acrobatic, all 4 employees saw that I wanted to go out and no one was able to hold a door open, and they especially know that it is very narrow and inconvenient. Unfortunately, that wasn't the first time that we didn't leave there so happy, but we always thought, well, we're having a bad day. But unfortunately for me that was the last time and it happened too often. Nevertheless, I hope that others have a nice stay and that we just had bad luck.

Lukullus is an excellent Greek restaurant! The food is always fresh, authentic and lovingly prepared. What is particularly impressive is the large selection of traditional dishes that taste impressive. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, making you immediately feel welcome. The cozy atmosphere rounds off the experience perfectly. An absolute must for lovers of Greek cuisine - I'll always come back!

An absolute recommendation! From the first moment you feel welcome here - as if you were eating with friends. The ambience is warm and inviting and the food is an absolute highlight: fresh, prepared with the best ingredients and authentically seasoned. We were particularly impressed by the fresh fish! The service also deserves high praise: warm, attentive and with genuine Greek hospitality. The waiters take their time with their guests, give great recommendations and ensure that you don't miss anything. To top it all off, we even got an ouzo on the house – what a nice gesture! We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back!

We (my wife and I) have been regular guests at Lukullus since it opened in 1983 (that says it all!) and are always very satisfied.

Orders were taken incorrectly, all orders were brought to the table on time. 2 dishes were cold (were returned - they were not warmed up but new dishes were served - great) a salad as a starter was too much/not ordered, but was still left at the table and written down despite being told that it was not wanted. We waited about 35 minutes for the desserts

The food was really perfect. You shouldn't have such high expectations when it comes to service. Old dishes are not cleared away. Without a special request, no one will ask if anything else is wanted. Drink orders are completely lost. It's a shame because the quality of the food was really outstanding. At 28°, the room temperature was far above bearable and so was the noise. Overall tiring. It's definitely wonderful in the summer.

I was really struggling with how to rate this restaurant after my visit yesterday. But since I have decency, the overall rating is mathematically 4 stars. But that's only because of the food and the ambience. In the END the service didn't work at all! Had something to eat with a former work colleague after a long time. About 15 minutes after our meal, two of the younger waiters (who were great) asked us one after the other if we would like something more to drink. Until then everything is fine. But two minutes later, without us asking, the.....hmmm probably the chief of the waiters came and actually asked us: "pay separately or together". Hello!? Are you crazy! Is this seriously a kick out of the basement? I thought to myself 🤔. Without asking us first, can it be something else (dessert, etc.) Sorry, but that's not possible...

We were there with a few friends and had a delicious meal. The food is really recommended. But the service could be even better.

Unfortunately, the red wine was quite warm and the food was unfortunately incomplete and also cold. A little salt and pepper were also missing and when we asked for salt and pepper, we were annoyed and brought the standard table set of small salt, pepper and oil. The delivery of the missing food took a very long time. But the atmosphere was great.

The food was cold, dry and without any spices, the service was sometimes unfriendly, and side dishes were forgotten. Very unfortunate.

It took 1 hour until we got the food. The food was very poor quality and expensive. 1x bitter lemon, 1x saganaki (for 2), 1x wanna be Greek salad (for 2) and 1x souvlaki with fries for 1 person 40 euros. Just ashamed for them.

When the weather was good, four of us sat in the rustic beer garden. I had recommended this restaurant that the rest of the people didn't know. 2 starters were ordered, only one of which was served. Garlic bread with tomatoes, better known as bruscetta. Unroasted bread was floating in the tomato dip, completely soggy, making it almost impossible to eat. My friend's grilled minced meat was completely burnt on the bottom.

Very nice Greek restaurant with a great beer garden with old plane trees, children's playground in a Mediterranean atmosphere. Just Greek. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The boss welcomes every guest and always finds time to have a little chat. The food… 1. Lamb chops with alternative to normal rice, then krytaraki (rice noodles)! The chops were well seasoned, hot and still very juicy. 2. Bifteki with Metaxa sauce, fries and salad! The bifteki was very tasty, juicy and well seasoned! Very large portion, so we took half home with us.

I can only say this is the best restaurant, I am very, very satisfied and can only recommend it

We sat outside at a fountain that was full of dirt. Ordered souvlaki. The lettuce was mostly wilted and drowned in a horrible sauce. 2 souvlaki skewers were carelessly slammed onto the plate with the fries. One set was completely missing. At least the wine and Qctopus of my companion were okay. Unfortunately, a visit is no longer an option for me.

Best food I've ever had. The head waiter was a lovely, nice guy who welcomed us very politely. He served us the food, which was really tasty. It was served quickly. The chef prepared the food really well. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone. I would recommend it to everyone time to come back
