Crazy place! Experiential dining 😉 Downside: it's incredibly cramped! The saying "There's always room for one more" applies.

🇩🇪 Our absolute favorite pizzeria in town! Whenever we crave pizza, this is the only place we go. The wood-fired pizza is fantastic: crispy crust, fluffy dough, and incredibly flavorful tomato sauce. You can immediately tell that quality and craftsmanship are paramount here. The service is friendly and fast, and even though the place is almost always packed, you get your food without a long wait. Our only minor criticism: the salami pizza can sometimes be a bit too salty, hence the one-star deduction. Still, highly recommended! 🇬🇧 Our favorite pizzeria in town! Whenever my husband and I crave pizza, this is the only place we go. The wood-fired pizzas are fantastic, with a perfectly crisp crust, fluffy dough, and rich, flavorful sauce. Service is always friendly and fast, even when the place is packed (and it usually is!). ... The only reason for one star less: the salami pizza can sometimes be a bit salty. Otherwise, absolutely amazing, still the best pizza in town!

Everything was very cramped, the food was quite good. However, the greeting that we, despite having a reservation (we were only 5 people instead of 8 – but were seated at a table for 4), were only allowed to eat and then had to vacate the table for the next guests as soon as possible, really dampened the mood.

It is and remains the best Italian restaurant in Germany!

Reserved for 5:30 pm Arriveted 10 minutes early. We were put in the queue with other waiting customers and were ignored despite asking. Then we went to the Italian restaurant across the hall – which was very good.

We were there at lunchtime, were served immediately and got a table. And the pizza was incredibly delicious again.

Giant pizzas and everything was absolutely delicious! And after a live performance by the pizza maker, there were even pizza hearts for my kids! Super sweet, and all the staff were super sweet! If you like things a bit raw and lively, this is the place for you!

We stumbled upon this place by pure chance, and it was absolutely amazing. Friendliness and quality are top priorities here. But be warned, the pizza isn't for a light snack—it's a big one! We'll definitely be back!

We made a reservation for 20 people four months ago for October 25th, 2025. Upon arrival, numerous other guests who had also made reservations were already waiting. None of the waiters seemed to care about us, so after 30 minutes we went to the restaurant across the street. They were apparently already familiar with this problem there. Extremely embarrassing for the host, as it was supposed to be an 18th birthday celebration. Therefore, we cannot comment on the quality of this "disastrous" establishment; and probably never will!

So far, I've only sat outside, so I can't comment on the ambiance. My 4 Seasons pizza was super delicious and plentiful. Moist, well-topped, and with a nice thin crust.

Great atmosphere, good music. You immediately feel at home! Suitable for groups or romantic getaways for two. The food is absolutely top-notch and delicious! Great service, very friendly waitress (Anna)! Definitely recommend it and we'll be back!

Very good and large pizzas, very friendly service, and a small appetizer and a shot of schnapps afterward. We've been here four times, and it's always a great experience.

The pizza was okay, but in my opinion, it didn't quite live up to the hype. It was a bit soggy, probably due to the large amount of ingredients. The service was friendly, but not particularly attentive. The vitello tonnato isn't recommended. Overall, it's more geared toward tourists. It's certainly good for a convivial evening with a group, but less so for a good meal.

We had to wait about 20 minutes. The waiting area and seating area are very cramped. We didn't get any menus. The service was nice, but not very attentive. The appetizers were good, but I can't recommend the vitello tonnato. It was simply slapped on with sauce, presented without much care. The mozzarella pizza was so-so, with way too much mozzarella, it just filled me up. The tiramisu at the end was disappointing. Overall, an okay place, more for tourists. I don't understand the hype and wouldn't go back. What a shame.

Despite having a reservation, we were left standing in the rain for 25 minutes along with about 20 other people who had also made reservations – before we finally chose another location. When we asked about it, the staff reacted snottily and dismissively...

A visit to Luigi's is a true experience! From the waiting area with party lights to the quaint seating area and the sometimes chuckle-inducing background music... The whole experience is topped off by the fantastic food. Both delicious and atmospheric!

Well, what can I say... Amazing, simply amazing. Delicious and authentic. Extremely friendly service. Great chefs. We had a seat right next to the pizza oven. Simply brilliant. Definitely a must-visit for anyone in Hamburg who loves Italian food. P.S. Make sure you make a reservation or you'll have to wait in line 😂👍

I’m a local, and Luigi’s Pizza on Ditmar-Koel-Straße 21, 20459 Hamburg, is honestly one of the best places in the city. The pizzas are huge (36–40 cm), thin, crispy, and full of flavor. The Latin music gives the restaurant a great vibe, and even though it’s often packed and a bit loud, that’s part of its charm. The staff are friendly, the service is quick, and the location near the Landungsbrücken is perfect. Highly recommended for anyone who loves real Italian pizza and a lively atmosphere.

We left without eating, they didn't go out and the prices were high.

We were a group of seven and had reserved a table in advance. Reservations are usually a little difficult to non-existent there, as they only look for a suitable table once you arrive, and you might end up having to wait 20-30 minutes (despite having a reservation). I've noticed this several times now. If you know this, though, you can prepare yourself. The food has remained very solid over the years, and even though prices have risen quite a bit in recent years, what you get for the price is truly more than good. The wait times for food are really short, despite the crowds. Even though this place is incredibly busy (especially on weekends), you have to remain friendly as service staff. We had a very nice waitress yesterday, until (just 1:20 after our reservation and almost 1:10 after we got our table) a waiter came over and snapped at us, saying, "Okay, hurry up, come on, come on!" We had all eaten, ordered coffee, ordered several drinks, some of which were still full, and we were waiting for our dessert. Our waitress apologized, but in my opinion, that's completely unacceptable!!!! We then paid and, with our still-full drinks, went out the door and finished them standing there. Unbelievable... This was our last time there, because it became clear that it's all about profit and that the guests are more of a means to an end. What a shame...

Great, we reserved a table. When we arrived, we had to wait about 15 minutes, but after that, the service and the food were excellent. A fantastic atmosphere and absolutely delicious. They even gave us as much free schnapps as we wanted at the end. We'd love to go back.

A disaster. You wait in line for hours, even with a reservation. The staff is rude. The food is rather mediocre. Choose one of the many other Italian restaurants down the street.

Pure chaos. When I saw the long line at the door, I thought, "Good thing we made a reservation." But I was wrong. Most of the people at the door also had reservations. After waiting 15 minutes, we were sent to the narrow hallway to wait a bit longer. When people started reading the menus while standing, only to be rushed through more quickly, we left the place—like some before us. I can't say anything about the food; it never came to that...

The food was delicious and the free schnapps was nice. Unfortunately, it was very busy. We had a reservation, but no one cared, and we were seated at a random table. We were there on a Saturday between 4 and 5 p.m. You're forced to vacate your table even if your glass is half full. If they had communicated that they apparently didn't want a second drink there, they could have been prepared. As it was, it was a sudden eviction.

The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. However, it was very crowded and crowded. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to finish our second drink and were asked to leave. It's a shame, as this wasn't communicated beforehand...our drinks were still half full.

We reserved a table via WhatsApp and even received a quick confirmation – actually a good start. We arrived at 7 p.m. sharp, but a long line had already formed in front of the restaurant. Everyone was also waiting for their reserved tables. After what felt like an eternity, we gave up in frustration and simply went to the Italian restaurant across the street – there we were immediately greeted warmly and had an excellent meal. It's a shame! If you only have a limited number of tables, you shouldn't make reservations that you can't keep. Apparently, they can afford it here, but for us, this was definitely the last time.

We had reserved a table for 6:00 p.m. and received confirmation. Upon arrival, we were given a glass of Prosecco, but had to join a long line in the hallway, where about 25 other guests were already waiting. When we inquired, we were told our table wouldn't be ready for another 10-15 minutes. A reservation should ensure that you can be seated at the agreed time. Unfortunately, making guests wait despite having a reservation and seating them in the hallway seems more like greed than good management. For this reason, we left the restaurant. I nevertheless wish the team all the best for the future and hope that the organization will improve in the future for the benefit of our guests.

A giant pizza that also tastes amazing. Very good value for money.

The food doesn't need to be described, you just have to enjoy it. The pizzas are super tasty and large, and the pasta is simply delicious. A great and friendly team. We always enjoy our meal here.

A cozy little shop with delicious food. The pizza base was nice and thin, the crust was crispy, and the cheese flowed... Just how it should be. The pasta and lasagna were also really delicious. You could tell it wasn't cheap meat. Highly recommended.

They serve very, very tasty pizzas here. The pizzas are a bit above average in price, but they're also correspondingly large. So, they offer excellent value for money. The place is definitely very busy, and you can't linger at your table for long.

The pizza was delicious. The waiters were all very friendly, despite the sheer stress. The highlight was that when we paid, we were offered a shot. The waiter came with two bottles and left them on the table, so we could choose what we wanted. The price/performance ratio was perfect.

The pizzas were very large. They weren't too thin either. The taste was so-so. Therefore, the price was too high. The decor was probably deliberately kept old-fashioned because of the cult atmosphere. Everything was pretty cramped. What I really liked was that they gave us two bottles of liquor when we paid. I'll definitely remember it.

We were taken to the back. I had no idea how great it was. Super cozy, and the food came quickly and was good. You won't find any meat here, but the selection of pizza and pasta is fantastic. We'll be back.

You shouldn't be shy about making contact. Tables and seating are cramped and limited. The demand and the wait time you sometimes have to endure speaks volumes. In short: recommendation, recommendation, recommendation. 👍👍👍

Super nice restaurant with excellent food! The wait was extremely short. We were given appetizers as a starter without being asked. The staff was very friendly. The place is a bit cramped and busy, but there was plenty of space.

The food was okay, the pizzas were really good, but due to overbooking, we didn't get our reserved table until 30 minutes late, and after 90 minutes, we were asked to leave. The drinks we ordered shortly before couldn't be finished.

Wonderful place. Nice atmosphere. Friendly crew. Delicious food. I ordered Pizza Opereta with Citron Lemonade. I gave 4 stars only because it takes a long time to wait for a free place, at about 4 pm we waited more than 30 minutes but we were luck because when I went out for smoking at about 5:30 pm I found the waiting row from the corridor to the sidewalk & I guess the people waited more than an hour, I know it was a special day today but I only suggest to make it bigger for such situation. The pizza was okay. When I asked if they could pack the rest (just under half) for me, they handed me a pizza box and told me to do it myself.

We spontaneously stopped by for pizza on Sunday. We didn't have a reservation, but after a few minutes, we were able to sit outside. The place is small but nice, and the pizza tastes unforgettable.

First of all, the pizza is truly amazing. We had reserved a table for 8 people that evening. When we arrived, there was a line of 15 people ahead of us. Everyone had reserved a table, so we had to wait. However, we were given something to drink while we waited. After that, everything went very quickly. Orders, drinks, and pizza all came in a flash. When some of us wanted to order an espresso and a Sambuca after dinner, the first negative remark from the waiter was made. The schnapps would be served at the end, after paying, and hopefully not everyone wanted an espresso. We had to emphasize that we wanted to pay for the Sambuca and that we wanted it now, not later. Both were then delivered very quickly. Outside, there was a line of waiting guests, some of whom had already reached the dining room, hypnotizing us until we would finally vacate their seats. This didn't make it very pleasant for the people eating. The climax came when one of our group needed to go to the bathroom. A server then remarked, "Now you're going to go to the bathroom in a relaxed manner." The motto is: pay first, clear your table, and then use the restroom. As I said, the pizza is perfect! But it's not a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal and take your time. This restaurant is designed to get as many people through as possible in the evening.

We simply love the pizza. It was great again.

This is how I imagine a typical Italian restaurant: pleasantly "lively." Tight, but not too tight. The noise level was okay. You could still hear the person talking. The pizzas are huge and incredibly delicious! We arrived at 5:50 p.m. with a reservation and were able to leave for the musical at 7:15 p.m. without any stress.

The pizza was okay, large but nothing special. I can't recommend the cannelloni with spinach and ricotta! There were hardly any cannelloni in the dish; I only found two that were completely smashed. The rest was just baked filling! Way too expensive for that! The music was Latin American; Luigi is Portuguese, by the way, according to the waiter. They play Tetris with the tables as needed, at least in the row where we were sitting. We had to move after we'd finished eating, but we still ordered dessert and espresso.

Luigi in the Portuguese Quarter is a very popular Italian restaurant. The St. Pauli atmosphere is worth seeing and I really like it. I chose a delicious pizza diabolo. To finish off, the friendly waitress served me a grappa. The value for money is good, and I highly recommend a visit. See you next time.

An absolute disaster! The shrimp were raw and therefore not only inedible, but also hazardous to your health. The pizza was disgusting—sloppy, tasteless, and simply disgusting. Serving something like that is a disgrace. We're stunned that this restaurant even serves customers. Never again!

The tables are so close together, I was amazed that the waiters were still able to bring the food so calmly. I suddenly had peppers on my tuna pizza, which I personally find very questionable. It was promptly removed. But with the lunch specials, there's really nothing to complain about.

I can't rate the food because we didn't get our reserved table for 15 people. Despite having a reservation on Saturday, September 13, 2025, we were told to wait an hour outside the restaurant. And then our group would have only gotten scattered tables. So why do they even accept reservations? If the food is like the service, I can only recommend avoiding this place.

Indoors too loud and too warm - way too many tables indoors - constantly bumping into people while eating... Outdoors is definitely much better for eating.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. Despite a confirmed reservation, we had to wait over an hour inside between the kitchen and tables for a table, and then we left. All guests are invited inside and told that they'll be seated "right away" and should just wait a short while in the hallway. It's very chaotic, no matter how delicious the pizza and free drink are. ;)

Absolutely outrageous! Table reservation for 7:30 p.m., which was confirmed. There were crowds outside the restaurant! No chance of getting a table! Another group was still standing outside at 7:30 a.m., even though the table was confirmed for 5:30 p.m. The service was a complete disaster!
