Casa Romana - Ristorante Italiano in Hamburg

Unfortunately, we never received a physical menu, although the table next to us did. Instead, we had to try to decipher selected dishes on a crooked board, which seemed both impractical and unprofessional. In addition, the wait for the food was far too long - another party, who arrived 20 minutes after us, was even served before us. In the end, the recommended wine turned out not to be a good match for my ravioli. A disappointing experience overall.

We were absolutely thrilled! The homemade pasta was incredibly delicious. You could really tell how much love and quality went into it. The service was also top-notch: super friendly, attentive, and very authentic, just as you'd expect in a good Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy, perfect for relaxing and enjoying yourself. All in all, a wonderful evening.

It's a shame the prices on the website don't match the bill. I was charged way too much. The food was delicious, but this is unacceptable. If the prices have changed, do they really need to be updated on the website? For example, spaghetti was €8.90 but they charged €15.90... Or tiramisu was €5.90 on the price board but they charged €6.90. Unfortunately, I only noticed this when I got home. That's not fair.

Had the truffle tortellini pasta which was delicious along with their Tiramisu. Very delicious food and restaurant was small but nice.

I can't comment on the food, as my daughter and I only had drinks. The cherry-banana juice tasted strange, and the Aperol Spritz tasted like dishwater. For that reason, we wouldn't have eaten there. Drinks were very expensive.

Yesterday we celebrated my son's birthday at this wonderful restaurant. The service and atmosphere were excellent. I was particularly impressed by the pizza dough; it was incredibly delicious. I'm a pastry chef and don't bake pizza, but I take my hat off to the chef; this is real Italian pizza. Greetings from Ukraine to the entire staff.

A restaurant that particularly impresses with its ambiance. It's very charming and cozy, a little nostalgic, but not old-fashioned. The staff is extremely well-trained, and you can tell that service is a top priority here. Regarding the food: I had a pizza from the lunch specials, an espresso, and a dessert. The pizza wasn't bad, but it wasn't outstanding either. This is just my personal opinion, though, and shouldn't deter you from visiting. The dessert was delicious, and I highly recommend the crème caramel to anyone with a sweet tooth. In conclusion: a definite recommendation, but don't expect an exceptional pizzeria.

Good restaurant near St. Georg, good atmosphere, delicious Italian food

Se tomaron pedidos y la comida fue servida por un camarero completamente desinteresado. Durante toda la comida fuimos "monitoreados" por el camarero. A una distancia de tres metros, con la cara y el cuerpo entero vueltos hacia nosotros, estaba absolutamente presente en la atmósfera de la comida. El abajo firmante terminó cuando medio comió. Otra cosa (que él no es el único en hacer) es que mantuvo sus dedos sobre el borde del vaso al servir - allí se supone que bebe. Tú no haces eso.

If the website shows a lunch menu with good, inexpensive dishes, but none of them are offered on site – instead, it's either pizza or dishes costing around €15 extra... We left.

Casa Romana is right next to the German Theater. We went for dinner with our group. The waiter, Kayo, provided excellent service and the food was delicious. Italian in Hamburg. We highly recommend it. Come again. See you soon!

Food is totally not good, pizza is not good and the steak is also not good. Ambience is good , but that's all.

Cocktails not recommended. No full glasses, no alcohol and far too expensive. No recommendation.

Personally, we thought it was a shame that we had asked before making our reservation whether we could pay by card and were only told when paying after the meal that we could only pay in cash. That was really unpleasant because we had asked specifically beforehand and there were 8 people there. Therefore only 3 stars for service. But the food tasted very good.

I think it's great when you're pleasantly surprised and get something you didn't expect. Would highly recommend everyone to try their meal.

Das Essen war okay, aber nicht überragend. Das Essen war nicht ganz gut gewürzt und die Portionen eher klein für den Preis. Insgesamt fehlt dem Essen das gewisse Etwas, um wirklich zu begeistern. Für einen spontanen Besuch ist Casa Romana eine solide Wahl, aber es gibt in Hamburg definitiv bessere italienische Restaurants.

The food was okay, but not outstanding. The food wasn't very well seasoned and the portions were rather small for the price. Overall, the food lacks that certain something to really inspire. For a spontaneous visit, Casa Romana is a solid choice, but there are definitely better Italian restaurants in Hamburg.

We were only shown the expensive board, not the regular menu, which we unfortunately only discovered on the way out. A reference to the map would have been appropriate. The food was good, nothing more. It was uncomfortably cool in the restaurant. I can't recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, we were only shown the high-priced table with (a few) delicious dishes. As a vegetarian, the selection was a bit slim. There was only one wine on this menu for €10 per 0.2 glass. It was very cold in the restaurant itself.

From the outside, the restaurant makes a cozy impression, which is reinforced on the inside. We received a warm and friendly welcome and were treated to a quick and warm welcome throughout. This pizza! I would like to go back in my life to the time when I took the first bite. Light and crispy, thin but strong enough to hold the topping. One of the best I've ever had. The taste experience is like a friend surprising you with a grin and cold drinks on a warm summer evening. 11/10.

Small, fine ristorante near the main station. There is a standard menu and an extra table with more exquisite dishes. Both fish and meat were excellent. The service was also good. The card machine is working again :-) The prices are not cheap, but still seem reasonable.

Food was ok, pricey for what it was but I've had better pasta in my travels all over Europe. I ordered a Spagetti Carbonara...which was pretty tasteless and it was drowning in parmesan cheese, so didn't make for the nicest dish. Still, it filled a much need hole in my stomach but I won't eat there again. My advice to travellers/tourists....check to see how busy a restaurant is before entering. A busy restaurant means it's busy for a reason ie the food is good. But this restaurant, it wasn't that busy...even on Friday and Saturday night when a good restaurant is usually packed with people. Waiter had the audacity of asking for a tip. I will only tip if both the food and the service is above and beyond. In this it was far from it.

Wir (2 Erw. + 1 Kind 11 Jahre) waren hier zu Gast zum Abendessen. Wir hatten bereits mehrere Lokale abgeklappert, die alle voll waren und daher waren wir froh, dass wir einen Platz gefunden hatten. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und an einen netten Tisch gebracht. Als Hauptspeise gab es Seezunge, Spaghetti mit Meeresfrüchte und Tagliolini mit Trüffel und Rinderfiletspitzen. Das Essen war gut, die Preise sind aber schon teuer. Der Service war nett.

Asked directly for gluten-free pasta or pizza because my wife has an allergy. They said the spaghetti was gluten-free, which we also ordered. However, penne came instead of spaghetti, which really surprised us. We asked and the waiter confirmed again that it was gluten-free pasta and that he had made a mistake with the type. After I tried this I asked again. He then came out of the kitchen with the packaging and said we could take a look for ourselves. In the end it was whole wheat pasta and he said he didn't have any other ones. I ended up eating alone and we had to find another restaurant. When it came to the bill, the waiter generously said he hadn't charged for the penne. Trying to sell whole grain pasta as gluten-free is an absolute no-go.

Attention, immediacy, and quality with respect to pizzas and wine. The general atmosphere is very warm and you feel well cared for. The wine may be slightly expensive compared to the quality, but it does not negatively affect the experience. I recommend it.

Overpriced and not really tasty pasta.

The food is OK. The prices completely exceeded the portions. Food appears on the bill that actually belongs to the dish. Here you are clearly being exploited and cheated. We won't be coming back.

The Italian around the corner. Food tasted great. Warm, flavorful. Service was attentive and quick. The price for the food is right. (grill plate) Unfortunately the drinks prices are excessive. 3x Sprite for €14.80 is simply over it. What's interesting is that the card reader seems to have been broken for over a year. We only accepted cash payments. Other recessions from others tell the same story. THAT is strange and gives you a strange feeling. 1 point deduction for the drink prices 1 point deduction for the thread aftertaste with the “defective” EC device.

Definitely too expensive for bad food. Beef pizza was dry and very salty. The pizza dough is very thin and flaky. There's hardly any sauce and I didn't see any truffles either. They paid 23 euros for this. Was the worst pizza so far. My answer that the pizza wasn't good was ignored 2 times. Lasagna is tiny and doesn't fill you up either. Our group then went to the kebab opposite.

We received a very friendly welcome and the pizza was really good! We had interesting and good conversations with the owner. If we are in Hamburg again, another visit is a must.

Catastrophic. No welcome, zero friendliness, ignorance of guests. They're out again straight away. We should first practice how to address Göste. Not even worth 1 STAR.

We are in Hamburg for business and pleasure and were at Casa Romana this evening, FULL TREFFER. This is Italian hospitality as you wish. Super friendly service, very tasty food and a very pleasant and cozy atmosphere. We will definitely come back and give it a well-deserved 5 stars. Keep it up and thank you for a nice evening.

Weird shop. We were asked if we were from Hamburg (yes). The food was ok and plentiful (pasta). There was also bread and olives. The drinks were large without even asking. We were only shown the board, not given the cards, which are there. Our waiter was friendly, another waiter was very grim and complained loudly to the employees in the kitchen, which we could unfortunately hear very clearly from our seat. We also received an invoice, but without warning it said that the card machine was defective and only cash payment was possible. We didn't have enough cash and didn't even bother looking for an ATM. Then he suddenly asked what kind of card we had (EC) and then he got the device and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately the whole thing left an unpleasant aftertaste and we definitely won't be coming back. I could imagine that tourists get worse service here than locals.

There are two menus, a highly touted more expensive menu and a classic menu. The food was good (pizza). The waiter only informed the guests when they were paying that card payment was not possible due to a technical problem. One guest had no cash and presto the card machine worked for everyone and without any problems 😉

We were here for the first time. Very friendly and warm welcome, the staff remained attentive and warm without being intrusive, as a greeting from the kitchen there was a small portion of warm bread with olives and olive oil, just right. The main courses (lamb fillets, tagliatelle with truffle, penne with avocado and goat cheese) were freshly prepared, tasted very good and were completely sufficient for a normal appetite, the wine (Primitivo) was a good recommendation. The dessert was also very tasty (and just fit in 😊) but the price was reasonable in the upper segment. Anyone who expects a lot of food for little money these days and doesn't value quality - that also has its price!! - should rather go to the Golden Seagull restaurant or choose a similar offer. We were very satisfied at Casa Romana and would like to come back.

The waiter (owner?) tried to scam us. We ordered a salad with salmon, the price of which was on the menu. When charging us, the bill showed a higher price than the one on the menu. We told the waiter and he tried to mess with us by playing with the language, saying that the cost of salmon had gone up a lot, until we showed him the menu with the real price. Also the food is mediocre. I would never return. I don't recommend it.

We were very disappointed. Lasagna was just a small piece of meat with what felt like 1 kg of cheese gratinated. Hey guys, pizza dough works differently. I've never eaten such bad pizza.

Very cozy Italian restaurant with reliable and friendly service. It's open until midnight, so perfect if you've been out and about and still want something warm to eat. Tortellini Panna was delicious, I would have even liked a slightly larger portion at the end.

It's OK, the food is quite good, the premises are quite nice, the bathroom is clean, the service is adequate. I found it all a bit boring but it was, as I said, OK. Not great, not bad, prices normal for the area I think. 5/10 from me.

They have tried to scam us with the account by putting other prices than those indicated in the letter. We have asked for the letter and they actually returned it to us after arguing with them. But you could see on their faces that they did it on purpose and wanted to charge us more. They smiled when we caught them.

Very expensive, the waiters didn't speak German, the food was nothing special and arrived cold. The fork was dirty. The receipt wasn't even printed out, citing a technical problem. Never again, if you go there, will it be your own fault and you will have to pay heavily for this stupid decision and feel the blood of your money cat for this mistake. There are so many better restaurants in Hamburg!

A small but fine Italian restaurant in Hamburg. Unfortunately, the service was a bit inattentive and the motivation to work didn't seem particularly high. The pizza was good but nothing special and rather small.

The best Italian restaurant in the long line. I tried several restaurants and they exceeded my expectations here. The best carpaccio I have ever eaten. My main course, tagliatelle with truffles and beef, was also very tasty The service is very accommodating. And I can only recommend it to all of you. Thanks Roy.

From the entrance you can feel the Italian atmosphere, inside the restaurant is nice, clean and atmospheric. The service was nice, efficient and helpful. A large selection of dishes, which I personally don't like, because too much choice means a lot of time thinking about what you want. Ordered pizza with buratta, very good thin crust.

I was insulted and threatened by another customer in the store. He overheard snippets of conversation from our table and took offense at me because of my background and my job. Our waiter basically didn't react at all after we pointed this out to him. A no-go. Never again.

We made the waiter aware, he already knew of the problem and explained to us mouses are coming from outside and assured us there are no nests in the restaurant. Nothing you really want to hear while having a nice dinner. We didn’t stay for dessert and felt alerted and stressed rest of the dinner. Shall this place be even open? Please deal with the problem, e.g. keep the doors closed, put traps, deep clean, etc. as this is health risk for your customers and nothing you shall have in the restaurant.

We were here twice during our visit to Hamburg. The service was very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was pleasant and, above all, we liked the fact that even quite late - around 9:30 p.m. - you were greeted in a friendly manner and could enjoy yourself in a relaxed manner. Of course the food was also very tasty ;-)
