Lugano in Oberhausen

For the first time in a long time, I experienced truly excellent service. The waiters kept a close eye on us; it was really very good, and the food was delicious. Value for money: TOP!

Everything is perfect, but the website says it's open, and when you arrive, the doors are closed. This happened in the summer and again on December 30th, 2025. I specifically checked online to see if the restaurant was open; it listed normal opening hours, except for December 31st, 2025, and January 1st, 2026, which may vary. When I arrived, the restaurant was closed. Tip: Update the online hours. There were several people there who were standing in front of a closed door.

The only downside is that you arrive to find the door closed even though the website says it's open. Otherwise, the food, service, and atmosphere are excellent. This issue with the opening hours has happened several times before.

As always, a special experience! One of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at.

We were here for the first time today. We received a very friendly welcome, the staff was very attentive, and all our wishes were taken into account. Overall, the place is interesting. But the service was a quest for us. We had to try five times to get our order. His German was poor, and while he was taking our order, the waiter was busy with other guests. We didn't find it very welcoming. We won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, the service was a huge disappointment: the waiter took forever to take our order and kept disappearing. We had to wait an extremely long time before we could finally order. Furthermore, the restaurant was incredibly loud and stuffy – it was packed, and you practically had to shout to be heard. So, while the food was good, it was impossible to relax and enjoy the evening.

Top restaurant! Highly recommended! We celebrated our son's baptism there. Communication beforehand was absolutely relaxed and seamless. The service, as well as the food, were perfect on the day of the baptism! We had about 40 guests and four long tables. The food was brought together at each table, with no delays, so all 10 guests could eat together. Our guests were more than thrilled with the food. That was quite a surprise. After the delicious appetizers and perfectly tempered drinks, the grilled platter exceeded all expectations. Grilled to perfection and served with perfect herb butter. And to finish, a delicious sorbet. All this in a shopping center. The service? It matched the rest.

This restaurant is an absolute insider tip. We always thought, "Sterkrader Tor, it can't be anything special." We were there yesterday, and it was one of the most beautiful and best evenings in a restaurant in Oberhausen. Top-notch service, first-class food, and an unexpected, absolutely beautiful ambiance. Simply unbeatable, thank you very much!

Unfortunately, it's not as good as it used to be. We were there yesterday. The food was, well, better. It's bad, so it's been deducted from the rating. Smokers in the pavilion. It was very unpleasant to eat while people were smoking at three tables. That's a no-go. And it was bad, the one waiter who thought he was so great and didn't realize he was annoying. It was kind of stupid, you wanted to eat well on your wedding anniversary, and unfortunately, it wasn't that great anymore. A shame

Very cozy and attractive atmosphere. What should be highlighted is the very friendly and fast service, as well as the boss who makes sure that you feel comfortable here. The food was served hot and attractively presented. The taste of the food was really delicious, we personally were missing some salt, but there is a salt and pepper mill on the table, not a drawback but a personal preference. In addition to the normal menu, there is always a changing menu with seasonal ingredients and other delicacies. I would also like to note the really good price-performance ratio. Really worth spending a nice evening here with your loved ones, friends or group. Very good parking options.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed. The vegetables with my chicken were very salty. The curry sauce didn't have a taste explosion either. My partner could hardly eat his wild boar loin because it was so tough and my sister had two hairs in her food. It's okay you can go there once in a while but I think it's because there's so much choice on the menu. Isn't every dish a hit?

The service was inattentive and we had to wait a long time for our order. What was particularly disappointing, however, was the boss, who didn't care much about the guests' well-being and seemed rather unfriendly. Overall, the service overshadowed the positive dining experience. It's a shame, because the restaurant's potential is definitely there. I hope that in the future both the service and the atmosphere will be improved.

We are thrilled 🤩! Today we were guests in this truly outstanding restaurant for the first time. Everything really fit. The reception was warm, the menu card came quickly and the drink order was taken promptly. Small changes in the meal order were accepted without hesitation. The food was perfectly coordinated with each other. Everything, but really everything of very good quality and excellent taste. We live further away, but this restaurant with all its employees and the nice owner is definitely worth the 75 km journey ;-)

It's not cheap, the portions aren't huge, but the quality and taste are incredible. People stop eating anything, eat things that taste good, less quantity more quality!! I was there with my son (16) and even he closed his eyes and said that he hadn't eaten something this good in a long time. The ambience is a little intimidating because it is very classy. But I felt very comfortable there, service was really nice! Very happy again, save yourself the kebab 6x and eat something good!!

Angenehme Atmosphäre, Personal war teilweise nett, ein Kellner klatschte die Dessertteller hin, räumte ab obwohl noch gegessen wurde, vergaß ständig die Getränke. Meine Tagliatelle in Öl gebraten schmeckten gut, jedoch schwammen sie in Öl. Die Preise sind recht hoch aber die Auswahl ist ok.
