L'Quán Barmbek in Hamburg

Great food, terrible service. We didn't have a reservation, and they asked if we had one, and we said no. The waiter told us we could sit anywhere. We sat at the table we had chosen for about 10 minutes, then we wanted to order. The waiter came over, and another waiter came over and rudely told us we had to move because we didn't have a reservation. Which I think is very cheeky.

The food was cold, raw, and seemed old—as if it had been sitting for ages. Absolutely disappointing. For me, it was the last time. I was at your restaurant on July 10, 2025. We ordered two dishes. Firstly, these dishes were cold, which of course shouldn't happen! Secondly, the chicken was not appetizing and the texture was rubbery. These two things really ruined our experience! We then explained to the waiter that the food was anything but what we expected. The response: "I'll pass it on to the chef." How can this answer help us as customers? We would have wished for something different at this point! May I also please ask why you accuse me of not having been there? Or, more precisely, of faking something? The service was good, but especially for the price, I'm used to better service!

A nice restaurant but unfortunately my food was not so warm I have been to other L Quan and there the food was much better and I find it very expensive

My girlfriend and I went there today to round off our Hamburg trip. I was looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere near our hotel. And that's how I came across L'Quán. And it was more than good! We were very pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and prompt. The ambiance was also fantastic. And most importantly, the food, surprised us even more. It was simply fantastic. The ingredients were fresh, super delicious, and served stylishly! We also had cocktails that were truly amazing, both visually and tastefully. We were extremely satisfied, and that's what prompted me to write this positive review. So keep up the good work, and if we're in the area again, we'll be happy to come back. I opted for the M3 lunch menu, which delighted me with its delicious red curry. The curry was slightly spicy but perfectly balanced, with an abundance of fresh vegetables, tender chicken, and wonderfully chewy udon noodles. Every bite was a taste experience so delicious that I could hardly stop eating! My sweetheart chose a tofu bowl, which was also very good. A fresh salad and crispy spring rolls were included beforehand, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere in the restaurant is truly cozy. The service was friendly and attentive; you can tell they put their heart and soul into their work. You rarely find such quality in a shopping center! Value for money? Absolutely top-notch! For what you get, the price is more than fair. Although I'm not from the area, I will definitely return and can recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, delicious Asian cuisine.

Even though the food was delicious, we saw a mouse running through the restaurant as we were leaving. The staff's reaction was surprisingly indifferent...it probably wasn't the first time. 🐁

We ordered the mixed starter for two people. It came with a large plate of 50% fries and something resembling fried air. Definitely not Vietnamese and not tasty. Cheap filling material. The main course of vegetables with tofu was okay. Service and atmosphere were pleasant. Overall, average.

I've been to L'quan several times, but in Norderstedt. The food tastes very good and is also beautifully presented. But the price-performance ratio is desirable. You won't feel full without an appetizer. I was very disappointed on my visit to Barmbek; I felt ripped off. I had to pay double the price for my pasta because I opted for salmon. I didn't mention it when I ordered, as the extra charge wasn't indicated anywhere on the menu. The waitress agreed, but only so we wouldn't discuss it any further. There was no concession or anything like that. A real shame!

We ordered from l quan. The food wasn't worth the money. The crispy duck was tough and soaked with fat, as if it had been left over from the day before. The mango dish didn't use any fresh mango, and the rice was okay, but there was a strange amount of yellow saffron rice in between. The edamame didn't come with salt as ordered, but with chili sauce. They were poor quality and tasted strange. Far too expensive for poor quality.

We found it wonderful, as we generally love Asian cuisine. The Vietnamese iced coffee is simply delicious. The black sticky rice for dessert was fantastic.

I ordered, and 3 minutes later the food was on the table. 😇 Very tasty, come by.

Here you can get upscale Asian/Vietnamese dishes that are very well prepared – at what I consider a reasonable price. The service is fast and good; the location is very well situated.

The service was abysmal; we were served by four different people, and the food didn't arrive at the same time. The taste was okay, but the portions were quite small. The peanut sauce with the rice and tofu were spoiled, and the evening ended accordingly.

We were in the restaurant as part of a bachelorette party with a group of 17 people. I made the reservation personally over the phone - early on and with a clear understanding that we would like to sit together. However, on the day of the visit it was claimed that there was no reservation. This was not only surprising, but very annoying, because I had definitely called the official number listed on Google or the website and was assured that the tables would be put together accordingly. Luckily the restaurant was empty when we arrived, so we still found space. However, the staff was mostly unfriendly and didn't seem to be trying hard. Particularly annoying: When we asked if we could put the tables together for our large group, this was initially refused. Only a second waiter later agreed to this - but no one wanted to help. I would like to positively highlight the food and drinks - both were really tasty and mostly came at the same time. However, a drink was not delivered, but was still charged in the end. Unfortunately we noticed this too late. Overall, the quality of the food was good, but the behavior of the staff was unprofessional - especially when dealing with a reservation that had obviously been made correctly. I would therefore not recommend the restaurant for a special occasion.

Can absolutely recommend this restaurant in Barmbek! Food and service great; However, the background noise is enormous! Maybe because there was a huge rush today. I recommend table reservations.

The food is delicious at fair prices. The cocktails aren't run-of-the-mill, but are made with love. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that we once waited 40 minutes for an iced tea and then 20 minutes for a Cobra Libre. To be fair, though, we were here on a Friday evening during rush hour.

We were completely satisfied. The service was very friendly and quick. The food (specials tofu luc lac & chicken cashew) and homemade drinks (mango lassi & pink dragon) were very tasty.

I found it really shameful that the staff at the entrance started a discussion about the late arrival instead of a proper greeting, even though I had previously reported a 10-minute delay on the phone. Very rude. Especially since the total visiting time of 1.5 hours was not overused and there was therefore no need for this behavior.

Very good Thai food, cool mixed drinks and cocktails

I have been going to L’quan for a few years. The service has always been good: Orders taken swiftly, food coming out quickly, dirty plates taken away promptly. It’s also one of the cozier restaurants in the area. My favorite dishes include any of their noodles. They’re always delicious. Their Pho has always helped me when I am sick. The food is also beautifully presented. My ONLY complaint, would be the spring rolls from the appetizers menu. They seemed prepackaged and not freshly made. I could be wrong of course, but I wouldn’t order something and pay that price for an item I can buy at the local market and pop in the oven myself. Besides that, L’quan is a great place to eat, in my opinion.

The L'Quan in Barmbek is a classic "mass establishment", but definitely recommended if the noise doesn't bother you. The food was very good quality and beautifully presented, I had the BBQ salmon. At first we had difficulty keeping our table as there were two fewer of us than planned. However, the alternative table was far too small, so we had to vigorously defend “our” place. Things went much better after that, the orders came quickly and the service was attentive.

Super cozy atmosphere. Very friendly service. Delicious food. However, there could be a little more on the plate - but that is absolutely subjective.

Food overly seasoned, very loud and uncomfortable. We were assigned a table for two in the middle of the restaurant and told that we had to be out by 7:30 p.m. Nice is different. Relaxed eating was impossible because the service and guests constantly had to pass our table.

As you enter you are greeted by a cocktail happy hour. I only knew that from a few simpler Indian restaurants. Then mulled wine with a shot was on offer. Was I really with a Vietnamese guy??? It's probably because of Hamburg. Easy to say as a Berliner. Anyway. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy and there are also many young guests. The menu makes me happy about the dishes and of course I order Pho Ga. It's a shame that it's not on the menu. I was asked if I liked onions and coriander. If I order pho, it would be a sin to pass it up. Foreign countries (Hamburg??) foreign customs? The chili came and had to be reordered. It was just slack and not the original style. Doesn't matter. The pho was missing sprouts and more cilantro. The noodles took over. Luckily the chicken was pulled apart and not sliced. All in all, still tasty. Some seats have strange tables. Their legs leave little room for their legs and the visit becomes uncomfortable at the expense of Schick. Too bad. Am I really the first person to notice this? Simply eating at the table yourself broadens your horizons. Yes, it gets worse. And so four positive stars remain.

We ordered food outside the house and received something inedible 😟 The satay skewer was without sauce and fried to death, the chicken curry was also unpalatable and ended up in the trash! Getting everything in plastic isn't that appetizing either

This restaurant is located very close to Barmbek train station. We had a really tasty meal here. There was a small and really tasty vegan selection. A larger selection of vegan dishes would be nice. Our cocktail was delicious, the shop is nicely decorated and the service was quick, nice and really good. Access is barrier-free. The toilets are on the 1st floor. But there is an elevator. Card payment is possible.

We've eaten there several times and so far everything has always been very tasty. However, yesterday the Bun was very disappointing and far too expensive for the quality. Noodles were hard, beef was little and cold, mango was hard and bitter. I actually wouldn't go there again for the price. Too bad.

New impression from September 20, 2024 We've been here a few times now and have always been impressed. The appetizer platter in particular is a blast. We pre-ordered it today. Please, please, don't put the fries in a plastic bowl, or at least make holes in them. Because the food was ready on time when ordered, the fries were mushy 😞. Everything else, as always, great We only had a drink and a dessert but it was great. And the prices on the menu were reasonable. Haven't eaten anything else yet, so only 4* so far New impression: 11/12/22 We have been here several times now. Although many restaurants had to raise their prices after Corona, they have remained stable here. The highlight, however, is the staff. Personal, warm but not exaggerated - professional. THANKS ! Staff very nice and quick! Meat a bit small but tasty, sauce good! What is not acceptable for me is raw vegetables in warm food. If I want to eat raw broccoli, roots, peppers, etc., I order a salad. Ruined everything else that was good.

Ordered on Lieferando and was told they don’t know my name and have no order of that sum or name I must be calling the wrong place. Just few seconds after we hang up they cancelled my order as I told them the deliver address. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

It just tastes good! Fresh ingredients. Food that makes you happy. Nice service. When it's full it's a little noisy inside. Not a restaurant for romantic dates. It's not that loud outside, even though it's at the intersection.

Underground service. The curry was completely over-sweetened and not edible. I let the food go back. Nevertheless, they insisted on payment and called the police. Simply unbelievable
