Löwenbräu Baden-Baden in Baden-Baden

We had a dinner a days ago. When I asked the old reception woman to explain the difference of the beers, she was very impatient, behaved and spoke very rudely !!! It fully ruined our interest in the dinner. So the food is just so so. I don’t think their beer worth that. I don’t recommend this restaurant.

We were in Baden-Baden yesterday and decided to go to Löwenbräu for a home-style meal. Unfortunately, the visit ended in great disappointment. We ordered pork loin with spaetzle and a grilled spaetzle. The pork loins were completely cooked and bone-dry. The spaetzle were a mini-portion, insufficient even for a child's plate, and not a highlight in terms of flavor. The mushroom cream sauce was bland, tasteless, and had a slightly sour aftertaste. The grilled dish was unfortunately of the same low quality. Regarding the service: Generally, it was okay, but it was clearly noticeable that there was a dispute among the staff – this was even loudly aired in front of the guests shortly before we left, which was very unpleasant. The waiter who finally took our money seemed very brisk and unpleasant and didn't even ask if we enjoyed our meal – perhaps with good reason. Conclusion: We couldn't find anything positive about the visit. On the contrary, we were very annoyed that we ate here and paid €96 for two. Not recommended!

A typical German beer hall. The place is very charming, with a few interior rooms and a lovely terrace slightly elevated above the main street; the menus, printed in newspapers, are attractive and clear. The service was perhaps too "rough" for my taste, certainly too slow (and inattentive...we wanted dessert but ended up paying after a wait), though polite. The food was very good (potato soup and goulash), and the prices weren't cheap but not crazy either. The atmosphere was a minus for the diners near us who, despite being inside, were smoking (one an e-cigarette, the other a "regular" cigarette) in complicity with the staff: no way! In the end, we had a good time, but the experience could have been even better, with a little...

It's a place that's reminiscent of Bavarian restaurants, with dishes that match. Our chosen dishes were delicious.

We had a good spot next to the entrance of the Löwenbräu Keller. You could see a lot, but you could see it yourself, especially since the "bib" on me was unmistakable. The food was okay, a little warmer would have been nice, and you know the prices in Baden-Baden, but you could have lived off the knuckle of pork for two days.

The place is fantastic—especially on the cool Baden-Baden evenings—and it really gets to the top when the two longest-serving waiters serve us: highly professional and attentive. The younger ones are less welcoming: they do their job, that's it. But these two veterans, with their friendliness, humor, and excellent service, ensure that we'll gladly return. They truly deserve a pay bonus. The atmosphere is pure, cheerful German feeling, and the place is incredibly pleasant. The only downside: the price—but we say that as rather cash-strapped Spaniards. 😉 We'll definitely be back.

The typical German beer restaurant with seasonal dishes and Loewenbraeu beer from Munich. The service is very friendly and fast, the portions are big. Very nice decorated in winter.

This pub pretends to be Bavarian hospitality spot unfortunately misses completely. Both waiters who were serving our table displayed zero warmth or client service. We were not treated like guests at all. I usually go to restaurant to feel welcomed. Did not feel this time and never plan to come back. Prices were high similar to rest of the Baden centre spots. Food was ok-ish.

This establishment has significantly declined in the quality and quantity of its dishes. Although its reputation allows it to have slightly higher prices than the competition, it can't lower the quality or quantity of its dishes, and it's doing so. It needs a little self-criticism and to regain the status it has always held.

Very friendly staff, delicious food, and an incredibly beautiful ambiance at any time of year. Especially at Christmas time, it's something special that you won't find anywhere else.

A safe bet for tasting local gastronomy

A quick trip to Baden Baden from Strasbourg. The city is very pleasant. We wanted a traditional restaurant and found one downtown with an outdoor area. Traditional dishes, high prices (over €25). A 0.75-liter bottle of water costs €9.90. The welcome wasn't exactly warm and welcoming.

Not a bad place to eat, but we expected it to be better. The service was not the best and it was the most expensive place compared to the rest we visited during our tour throughout the black forest

The location and service were top-notch. 😁 The food was okay. The meat was dry, the sauce was probably powdered. Potato salad was from a wholesaler. A shame. The good service made up for it.

Pretty bland food and exaggerated prices. They charged us 10 euros for EACH 0.75L bottle of water. Then they "encouraged" us to tip. It's a tourist trap, and we fell for it.

We stayed at the hotel for 12 days. The manager gave us a less than warm welcome upon arrival, with communication difficulties. Free parking is difficult to find near the hotel. Free parking is available in adjacent streets (about a 10-minute walk away). Payment for the stay was requested in full upon arrival, without having seen the room beforehand, even though a debit was being made from the bank account used for the reservation. Note that after a telephone call with a French-speaking contact, the problem was quickly resolved. Very decent breakfast. Spacious room and bathroom, which is a plus for a long stay. Hotel located in the city center, which can be noisy due to its location.

The service was quite unpleasant from the person who served us. Bad gestures and expressions from the moment we entered to the moment we left. The food was "just plain." Not recommended at all.

The worst value for money experience I've encountered on my entire vacation. You see a beautifully decorated and ambianced place and you go with the flow, but then the disappointing food and the beautiful green flies liven up the evening. Outrageous prices, which, although you can see them on the menu, you imagine that at that price it will be something spectacular. But nothing could be further from the truth. Of the four dishes, one was saved. The rest were average. And cut down on quantity. For example, the poached sausages (plural) were one and cut at both ends. And the worst part was my dish, which cost over €30, of which I managed to eat two pieces, due to hunger and the sauce. I've attached a picture. The pork was burnt, reheated, and tough. And the water... a 1-liter bottle, €9.90... Yes, yes, I'm not kidding... See receipt. I've told my daughter to consider starting to drink beer 🍻, non-alcoholic, of course. What another user said in the reviews: a tourist trap. And on top of that, the waiter got upset because I told him no tips. He didn't do a bad job, but the oven wasn't ready to make buns... Otherwise, it wasn't typical in your country to tip... And I told him no. Although we've tipped in several places during this vacation, it's not customary for them to ask for it, even less so on a card.

I really liked the restaurant and Biergarten. They cook deliciously, large portions, serve quickly, the waiters cook in several languages. We were there several times, ordered hot dishes, salads, soups, dessert. We were completely satisfied.

We came across the nice restaurant with the decor in the evening when we arrived. Very well served by the super friendly and pleasant staff. So the next day we came back for lunch, it was a disaster, the waiter pulled his head, almost wanting to kick us out, we ordered a drink the same as the day before, he told us that there was no ………

I arrived at 12:45 at the restaurant I'd previously thought was nice and traditional. I asked for lunch (admittedly, my English vocabulary is limited), and I'm traveling with a dog. A girl served me in a friendly tone. Since it was so early, all the tables were empty, and she gave me a choice of two so the dog could be as discreet as possible. She didn't offer me water for the dog, even though everywhere, in the heat, they offer a bowl. I asked for lunch, and she gave me the option of English, French, or German on the menu, and it occurred to me to ask if they didn't have a menu in Spanish. She very curtly replied: "If I travel to Spain, they have one." I politely replied that it's very likely that many places in Spain have a menu in German. I was about to get up when she brought me a menu in Italian and German. The food was good, and the apple pie was excellent. It seems she wasn't having a good day or doesn't get along with Spaniards who speak little English. Apart from the treatment of this waitress, the price, the location and the food were good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A visit to the LÖWENBRÄU restaurant in Baden-Baden is an absolute must! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is divine, and the service is first-class. I would especially like to give a shout-out to Nik Brandau, whose incredible hospitality made the evening unforgettable. I have rarely felt so welcome and cared for in a restaurant. Thank you for this wonderful experience – I will definitely be back!

I had dinner here with my husband and had a great time. We ordered a plate of German specialties for two. The dish was very generous and of good quality. Since we managed to eat less than half of it, the waiter prepared a take-out package for us, without us asking. The beers were excellent. We paid about €45 each because the dish we ordered was one of the most expensive, but I think you could easily spend less. Service was quick and the staff were friendly. The location is very charming and quaint.

We haven't been visiting this place as often lately, but it's still a solid address.

Tourist trap. Prices are enormous. Food is okay, but for that price - the portions could be even bigger. 36 euros for a wiener schnitzel? Is it made out of gold or something? We ordered 2 beers, one big water, 2 meals and one smaller pre-meal. It turned out 90 euros. We forgot to take the receipt but summed up the prices (which we remembered very well because they are absurdly big) and it couldn't have been 90 euros, they put something else on the receipt that we didn't take, maybe some kind of couvert that isn't mentioned anywhere in advance. Just skip this place.

Welcome to that corner of Germany where sausage seems punished for being on your plate and beer is served with as much enthusiasm as a tax audit. The menu photos promise a feast... but it's clearly a cafeteria menu.

A terrible place, I wouldn't recommend it, not even to my worst enemy. €9.90 for water (insane), outrageous prices, poor quality, a €20 salad was disgusting. The waiters don't understand anything. I asked for one thing, and they brought me something else. PLEASE DON'T GO THERE!!!

Stayed a night in the hotel, very friendly manager, she was so welcoming. Staff seemed less engaged but reasonably efficient. If you're looking for a truly Germanic experience and vibe, it's the place to get started in Baden Baden. The town is beautiful, lots of high end retail and a great Spa Town experience in the Black Forest.

The seating is lovely under the trees and feels like a beer garden. The service is friendly and quick. For a Wiener Schnitzel costing over €34.00, however, some salad could have been included. Two, admittedly large, veal schnitzels were served without garnish. They were accompanied by fries, for which ketchup/mayo was only available upon request. Pretty dry, dear Löwenbräu people! Very international guests!

Very expensive, the fried pork knuckle was tough, or rather awful, and the waitress was rude. The atmosphere and the people who go there are the only good things. Flies flock to you when they bring you your food. It's not worth it, at least for us Spaniards from La Mancha who eat well-cooked grilled meat.

If you're a vegetarian looking for a variety of dishes, this might not be your first choice. But if you don't mind the limited selection, the food is undeniably high-quality and fresh.

Unfortunately, we were ripped off here. The menu only listed 0.25l and 0.5l bottles. We ordered a bottle because two 0.5l bottles of wine at once was too much for us. We ended up paying €23.50 more for a mere 0.25l of wine. We could have ordered two 0.5l bottles instead of €42.50 and paid only €38.00, even getting 1l of wine. If we had been told this beforehand, since the price of the wine wasn't clearly visible on the menu, we would never have spent so much money on a simple bottle of wine. For that reason alone, and because of the completely exorbitant price, only one star.

The place was very pretty and nicely decorated. What I liked most was the dessert. We ordered apple strudel, and it was delicious. Overall, a bit pricey.

Great place in the center of Altstadt Baden-Baden. The food was truly delicious, with surprisingly tasty vegetables. I had vegetarian rösti (nice and fresh), green beans (still crunchy), and broccoli (also crunchy). My partner also enjoyed the meatball (frikandelle). The beer and rosé were delicious.

Totally folkloric with waiters and waitresses in traditional Bavarian outfits: Lederhosen and dresses. But the prices are stratospheric and you pay for the location. Yes, the beer garden is nice, but this is too much! As for the food, we are dealing with dishes that anyone can prepare themselves outside of a Schweinshaxe.

The food was OK, the service was impersonal; the waiter talked to his colleague in the other table instead of talking to us. No plans to repeat.

A typical restaurant in the center of Baden-Baden, always beautifully decorated, both in spring and summer with thousands of flowers and in winter with spectacular Christmas decorations. We ordered the pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, and it was delicious... the prices are a little high, but as in all of Baden-Baden... it's still worth it, and we shared it because they also bring spaetzle with excellent toasted bread... a truly traditional Bavarian restaurant... the Kasespaetzle and Nuremberg sausages, which we've had on other trips to Baden-Baden, are also good...

In March when I visited the area and sat down and had dinner at your restaurant, everything was amazing. One of the best meals I had in the area.

I was really disappointed with this restaurant. From the start, I felt the service was going to be a problem: two waiters came over to ask me what I wanted to drink, a few minutes apart… Clearly, there was no organization. Afterwards, everything was done in a rushed manner. No one explained the dishes to me; we just put our plates on the table without a word, as if they were in a hurry to finish. The meat was way too salty, so of course, we ordered a drink. And then, a big surprise: the mineral water cost €9.90! I had noted €9.50 in my previous review, but after double-checking the receipt, it was indeed €9.90. And of course, there was no indication of the price before ordering. To pay, I waited a long time… all the waiters were there, standing around chatting among themselves, ignoring the customers. No one came, so I ended up going to find a waiter myself. And when I finally found him, he handed me the terminal with the screen in German, even though he could see I didn't understand. I said "no" to the tip, but he still asked me to select 5%, without any explanation. For a city as touristy as Baden-Baden, this kind of service is simply unacceptable!! I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. ❌

A traditional Bavarian restaurant with plenty of flair. The prices are (probably) reasonable for Baden-Baden. You can pay over €15 for a Maß (liter of beer), but you don't have to.

The food was disappointing – lacking in authentic Baden cuisine: huge chunks of tomato in the side salad, sausage salad without pickles, cheese spaetzle made with too much cream and too little cheese, and floury instead of creamy. Perhaps okay for tourists without experience, but not recommended for locals. Service was unmotivated, no help with questions, and card payments didn't work with any of our five cards. A noticeably bad atmosphere prevailed among the staff. Nice beer garden, but overall not a pleasant experience, and also relatively expensive. Tip: Go to the lamppost across the street instead!
