Löwenbräu Baden-Baden in Baden-Baden

The service was totally unfriendly right from the start. We didn't feel like eating and left.

Unfortunately disappointing - not a recommendation We were eating at the Löwenbräu restaurant in Baden-Baden and were looking forward to fresh asparagus. For a whopping €32.50 (per 500 gram portion) we were served four portions of asparagus with just two small potatoes each. Unfortunately, the asparagus was almost raw on the first try. After our polite complaint, the plates were taken back and re-prepared - however, even on the second attempt, the asparagus was barely cooked, tasteless and far from "al dente". I then had my portion returned. Instead of understanding or accommodating, the boss came to the table and told us that everything would be charged in full - the most she could offer us was a coffee on the house. We politely declined. Unfortunately, your statement that the asparagus was “great” only showed that there is absolutely no value placed on honest feedback here. It was also noticeable that the majority of the service staff spoke little to no German, which made communication even more difficult. Overall, we felt that this restaurant was more concerned with profits than customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant under any circumstances and will definitely not be coming back.

The service from the non-German staff is emotionless and taciturn and seems unfriendly. The giant cabbage roll had a maximum final weight of 150g compared to the promised 300g. Portions are rather small. Had to reorder. Otherwise ok.

Deplorable service with unfriendly and very impatient staff, a waitress does not understand a word of German... we report twice in German an inadequate order which will be left on the table and then billed. The waiter becomes impertinent and unpleasant when we try to correct the bill. Lamentable. Not a single excuse! We will never go back there again!

I know it seems touristy, but the food was not bad and the beer excellent. Even went back the next day for more beer and a snack.

I liked everything. Good atmosphere, delicious beer, staff speaks Russian. It was so delicious that we came to this restaurant twice; we usually like to go to different establishments.

Great location, nicely decorated and friendly service BUT: charging €7 plus for a 0.4l beer is a disgrace! We are not at Oktoberfest here. For that price I get a whole box on sale! Unfortunately never again and no recommendation due to the absolutely exorbitant prices! Even when eating!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Löwenbräu, thanks to a recommendation from a friend of mine who owns motorcycles. I was searching for a good day ride from Stewart, and he suggested this spot, highlighting the beautiful two-hour route through the Black Forest. The ride itself was incredible—smooth, scenic, and seemingly designed for motorcycles. Along the way, I must have seen over 100 bikes, all soaking in the same gorgeous day and perfect riding weather. Arriving at Löwenbräu shortly after they opened, I was immediately impressed by the aesthetics. The raised outdoor café area nestled among trees was a lovely touch, offering a nice view of the bustling city walking area below. The atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, with plenty of space to accommodate even larger groups, which is always a bonus for bikers riding together. Service was prompt and friendly, which I appreciated. The food, however, was the real surprise. I’ll be honest—German cuisine isn’t typically my go-to, but what they served here was fantastic. Everything was well-prepared and flavorful, making me rethink my usual reluctance toward the cuisine. Overall, Löwenbräu delivered on all fronts: ambiance, service, food, and location. The journey there was just as enjoyable as the destination itself. Whether you’re a biker looking for a scenic ride or just someone who appreciates good food in a charming setting, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

This place is very impressive. They welcomed two Koreans skillfully and the food is great. But the price is a little expensive. But the atmosphere of this store's outdoor terrace is really nice. It’s an atmosphere you can’t feel anywhere else. It feels like you are in a movie scene. The atmosphere is well worth paying for the food. Recommended if you like or want the laid-back atmosphere of Baden-Baden. Also, the amount of food is large, so please keep that in mind.

As usual it's good, but it's an establishment that becomes excessively expensive, with very standard dishes that quickly rise in price.

In the city center, very delicious food, especially the spicy goulash soup!

Food was okey but not that special. The staff was rude and acted like they didn't want ous there. One of the staff dropped my fork and knife with food in my lap and didn't even bother to apologize. The only positive thing was the interior, but the restaurant seems to be a tourist trap.

A somewhat worn-out pub atmosphere, with a cool waiter but waitresses who silently shove the food in your face because they don't know who ordered what. Drinks are also silently placed somewhere at the front of the table for you to choose from. The taste was okay, but the prices were exorbitant. A 0.5 liter Helles beer was a whopping €7.70. A Jägerschnitzel (a small schnitzel) was on the lower end of the reasonable portion size at €27.50. You can also get a decent size for a whopping €34. Oktoberfest prices, unbelievable!

The food is okay, prices are quite high, and service was courteous and quick when I was there. The ambiance: The decor is the height of bad taste, especially the horrible pink lighting in winter and the lavish Christmas decorations, which are probably meant to attract tourists. If they focused on the essentials, the food, they could feel comfortable there. As it is, it spoils the beautiful old town.

However, the prices are slightly higher than the average in Germany, which might be a downside for some. Despite this, the quality of the food and the overall experience make it worth a visit.

Lovely setting, amazing beer with a generous side of rude behaviour from the waitstaff. The older lady took our order for beer and gave us our bill even before we took a sip of our beer. When I asked her if she'll give us a separate bill for our next drink, she said that she was getting everyone's bills as her shift was ending. But she didn't seem to be getting anyone's bill or leaving for the next hour as we sat there sipping our beers. Maybe it's racism or just general dislike for paying customers.

The waiters must have some rudeness contest with each other. The winner is the one who turns away on the way out, so as not to say good night.

Were there with 5 people and as others have described, the food, browned meatloaf, and snack was good, but the drinks were totally OVERPRICED, 0.5 liter light beer for 7.60 euros, outrageous, the thousand lamps outside should be turned off, so energy consumption would be cheaper and cooling the beer would be cheaper. The waitress's leather pants don't help either. Conclusion ; Price-performance not fair

Pretty Christmas decoration Good value for money

The staff is extremely rude. Showed up with my wife for dinner and waited to be sat. The older waitress then ignored us for a while behind the bar and then got angry at us for asking if we should seat ourselves. Replying we should have said hello or good evening first, even though we stood at the door waiting to even be acknowledged while she helped German speaking customers that arrived after us. I own a restaurant and have never seen someone in the service industry be so rude for no reason. The place looked great, and I’m sure the food would have been fine had we stayed. But the waitresses attitude towards us asking a simple question made us leave since she seemed like she didn’t want to have us sit down at all. Maybe she just doesn’t like Asian people or Americans I don’t know, but definitely never eating there since the wait staff is so rude. Highly recommend going to Amadeus which is right around the corner. Amazing food and great service, and they actually welcome you instead of expecting you to beg for service.

We were there a week ago, it was a big disappointment. Price and performance are not right. They have untrained staff. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Food without praise and without infamy, normal. Very friendly staff and very nice and welcoming place. I advise everyone against taking water: €8.80 for 75cl of natural/still water, as if it came from some sacred spring in the Himalayas... Having such a sum on your account could ruin your digestion.

All local specialties are on the menu. It’s perfect for a change of scenery. The products are fresh and good. The service was fast. If you can, choose the heated outdoor space or the small rooms because the large room is very noisy but the staff is in no way responsible for the noise volume of certain customers.

Wild Christmas decorations, worth a visit during Advent

I have been to Germany so many times and I have never tasted such a terrible and ridiculously expensive restaurant. The overall price of the restaurant is 2 times higher than other German restaurants. (I know it’s a tourist city, but it’s a bit too exaggerated) A 50ml pot of unnamed riesling costs 19€. The waiter had a bad attitude and was very unfriendly. When we ordered the main course, it was served five minutes later, but the meat was cold on the inside! The pork knuckle, 34.5€, is a smoked pre-cooked dish, and the side dishes are also very perfunctory. When we raised our objections, the replacement dishes were still cold, but we didn't want to waste food, so we ended up taking it away... In fact, I can accept the high prices in tourist restaurants, but don’t be so perfunctory with tourists, tourists are not stupid!

You definitely have to visit the Löwenbrauerei Haus at Christmas time. Every square centimeter is decorated for Christmas with lots of Santa Clauses and other Christmas objects. The food is hearty and good, but you have to adapt to Baden-Baden conditions.

An unmissable place at Christmas, although very touristy with the incredible feeling of having lunch in Santa's workshop. The service is efficient, the dishes traditional. In summer, instead of the winter wooden chalet you will find a superb shaded terrace. In winter, you will see the trunks of the trees crossing the wooden chalet. For me an essential address when I go to Baden-Baden

A huge, beautiful brewery restaurant. Large selection of beer, different tastes, food is normal, not surprising or exciting. The staff are dressed in traditional costumes and are very friendly. The price and quality are too high. But overall everything is great

Incredible Christmas decoration at this Restaurant in Badén Badén, everything there is for Christmas is unimaginable if you don't visit it, it is a Christmas museum and on top of that the food is very delicious. Mandatory stop at Christmas.

More appearance than reality - this poor quality with utopian prices can only be afforded by a restaurant that has a "passing public" - the satisfaction of the individual guest apparently doesn't matter. Unfortunately the quality of the food wasn't that good, but the price was very high. I assume that a lot of finished products are used here. More of a tourist shop. The service was friendly. The decorations at Christmas time are very lavish. An eye-catcher for children. You can stop here for a beer.

2022: In our opinion, the price-performance ratio was not convincing. The male service was limited to taking the order, while all other tasks were carried out by the female service staff. Although only a few tables were occupied, it took a long time to clear away. Unfortunately, this meant that we lost interest in dessert. EDIT 2024: We wanted to give the restaurant a second chance, but were disappointed again. Unfortunately, the XXL schnitzel had a very neutral taste and the price of €35 didn't seem justified. The ambience may be convincing thanks to the elaborate Christmas decorations, but in our opinion the focus on the actual service falls by the wayside. The payment process was also complicated: instead of a printed invoice, there was only a handwritten note. If you want to pay by card, you have to go upstairs. The organization there was confusing and it took us some time to find the right contact person. After questions, we were finally issued with a hospitality receipt, but only after a discussion. Unfortunately, this visit didn't convince us either. It would be nice if the processes and quality of the food were improved to match the ambience.

More appearance than reality... unfortunately... We were here on New Year's Eve, unfortunately it was a complete disaster... The staff was very unfriendly, when we came in some of us weren't even greeted, I had to look for a table myself, no one asked whether we had a reservation or which table was ours heard. Unfortunately the menu wasn't varied and the biggest outrage was that you had to pay €7.50 for a glass of champagne and "table decorations", I really thought my eyes would fall on the table. The food arrived very, very late, I understand it was very busy but then you should just plan better from the start. The food for this price and the quality is a real laugh. The schnitzel was thinner than the sole of a shoe, more breading than anything else, on the pork fillet, there was probably not enough sauce, when I asked for another portion of sauce, I lost my faith, the sauce was like pudding and barely came out of the sauce holder. To charge €9.00 for a portion of fries and €15 for a portion of spaetzle, I beg you… NEVER AGAIN! In total we had a bill for €1000, I think that for that amount you would have gotten much better quality and service, no matter where. Apart from the fact that you were allowed to spend the whole night in the toilet. Thanks.

We made a reservation for the Silvester Dinner, hoping to enjoy a good meal. However, we didn’t know that there would only be a special menu available that day. There were about five main dishes to choose from, and each plate cost around 50 euros. The taste was nothing special—actually, it was the worst food we had during our trip to Germany. The welcome sparkling wine, which cost an additional 7.50 euros, was far from impressive. The Strudel dessert was cahrged at 19.50 euros.( there weren't in the menu ) While the Christmas decorations outside were absolutely gorgeous, we couldn’t help but feel like we were ripped off.

A place known for its great Christmas decorations outside, it is the attraction of the season. The food is very good, the service is fast and the price is according to the city and the season, I went at Christmas.

The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Despite arriving late in the evening, we were promptly seated, and the waiter provided exceptional service by recommending the perfect portion sizes for our group of four.

We just went for drinks in the afternoon, we weren't assigned a seat so we just sat down somewhere. When the young waitress came to take our order she said in a unfriendly tone that drinks are only to be ordered at the front near the bar. This is the first time we didn't gave a tip.

We went to this restaurant because of its high rating and beautiful Christmas decorations, but it was everything but worth our money. First off, the food is way too expensive. I mean water almost costs €10. This is understandable since it is a rather crowded tourist destination, but the service was unacceptable. I would give the service 0 stars if possible. They were extremely rude, acted like they did not want us to be here. The food was also not worth the outrageous price. It was incredibly expensive but the food tasted so normal. Nothing special. My advice, just come here to take pictures of the decorations, since that is truly a special aspect of the restaurant. But besides that don’t bother coming in, since they don’t seem to want you to be there either.

Restaurant for tourists… Having been used to frequenting a lot of restaurants in Germany near Offenburg, I find that not being able to get a wurstsalade is still revealing... and at 15€ more!!!! In addition, the waitress makes a mistake in the beers and admits it half-heartedly... she still changed the beers for us but forgot to remove them from the bill.. In short, I don’t recommend this restaurant at all…

After a satisfying experience this summer, we returned to this restaurant this holiday season. What a disappointment compared to this summer. I had memories of excellent veal Wiener Schnitzel served in large quantities with also very tasty fries, but during our last experience it was quite the opposite. The escalopes were tiny compared to this summer for a price of €36.50! Plus they weren't as good, and the breading came off way too easily. The veal also did not have the same quality. The only positive point was the setting during the end of year celebrations but the service was impossibly cold. It’s clearly a restaurant that attracts tourists during parties. Obviously we won't be coming back again. Too bad because the setting is nice.

For us it was a terrible experience, we ordered a soup which in reality was nothing more than a broth diluted with some cooked onion, ordered 2 shanks, raw inside and impossible to cut without a suitable knife. You can't charge for food like this, it would have been expensive even if it had been free. In our experience to avoid. Better to pay more attention to the food than to the Christmas decorations.

Didn't have a reservation however we were seated straight away as it was less busy after the early evening rush. The Christmas decorations are really amazing to see here. The food portions are very large so we split an order of spare ribs. We were a little disappointed that they were boneless riblet style rather than proper ribs but they were OK. Service was efficient.

It's only the Christmas decorations that are magnificent. But we got kicked out. Impossible to get a glass of water, we were sold a bottle of water for 9€90 (we had asked for still water and they brought it to us sparkling…we told them they brought us a bottle of still water telling us that they would not charge for it) so we had to pay for 2 bottles, impossible to negotiate. Really not commercial. I will not come back again even though I have known this place for 10 years. It got really bad! Go on your way!!! Prices too high compared to the quality and hospitality.

Just one summary: move on!! Where to start.. The welcome is far from warm, or even non-existent, No one wants to serve you a glass of water, you have to pay €9.90 for a bottle of water!! In addition, it was impossible for us to order a dessert because supposedly the kitchens were “closed”. Finally, the price of the dishes clearly exceeds the quality of the cuisine offered.. I repeat myself, but move on!
