Löwenbräu Baden-Baden in Baden-Baden

Unfortunately I only know the Löwenbräu at Christmas, it is beautifully decorated like in a fairy tale.

Maximum expression of the Christmas atmosphere, they don't speak Italian but the waitress speaks English well, excellent food..... congratulations!!

Restaurant located inside a premises on the second floor, guarded by a thousand little characters such as bears, Santa Clauses and others on the outside of the façade. Delicious food and in large quantities. The photo is a starter of a little bit of everything for 1 person from which 3 people ate. The second one is also very tasty, good service and good value for money.

We were in the toilet and then the whole team and the supposed host stood in front of us with a small cash register and directly demanded 1 euro per person for the toilet without even asking whether we were guests or wanted to eat something in the house. We didn't have it before but of course after such a stupid action. PS: We put in less money than asked for but don't worry, the water costs for us will be covered ;) Thank you very much and goodbye.

Very chic restaurant, but prices are ABSOLUTELY overpriced!!!

We were there at Christmas time. Probably almost more decorated than the Christmas market. Some people like it too much and find it cheesy, but we thought it was gigantic. Wherever you look, you discover lovely little things.

Tourist trap and ultra kitsch! Didn't like it at all. Everything is overpriced and you have to pay for the space you sit there?

Last weekend we were in Baden Baden with 13 people and of course we also watched the spectacle that the Löwenbräu Baden Baden puts on at Christmas time. The decoration outside is opulent and by no means tops everything that theme parks decorate in winter. But that was it. Here the saying OUTSIDE HUI - INSIDE PFUI applies 100%! The staff is really unfriendly, if not rude. We were initially ignored for a long time. Then they said they would serve us straight away. Then a completely different person came who then “took pity” on taking our order. We then decided to just order drinks because we were relatively pissed but didn't want to leave straight away because we all wanted to at least try the beer. The beer we ordered came, but many people simply ignored the calibration mark. In some cases a third of the filling quantity was missing. We complained about this to the waiter and he then pretended that - because he comes from Hungary - he didn't understand German... (strangely enough, at the next table he spoke... guess... German ;-)). So he didn't do anything and one of our group got hold of it and took the glasses across the shop to the counter... They then brought us full glasses in a rather unfriendly manner... Sorry, but - just having a great, world-famous name isn't enough to make guests happy. I also find the pricing outrageous. Prices were very high - we knew that beforehand and all the decorations had to be paid for - but we found the reason given for the "seasonal" price increase to be slightly silly. Either way, a tip was still required, which of course we didn't give. Just like it said on the menu - it's not necessary at the moment ;-)

When the schnitzel costs 27€ and a mediocre beer costs almost 8€ you expect at least a certain experience... or service... KillerUnfriendly... Beer is like that... Weißwurst like at the gas station... Prices as if they had culture and taste to offer. Servers are usually only so unhappy when employers don't treat them correctly... I'm guessing... idk

We were there for a team Christmas party, but this location is out of the question for me in the future. -Overpriced food and drink -Unfriendly staff -kitschy atmosphere We were looking forward to a lovely evening. Unfortunately, you don't feel like a guest that you would like to take care of - but rather like a burden. The price has been adjusted to the Oktoberfest 🤦🏻‍♂️

Not a great experience... The facade is very well decorated, but the welcome is really not warm, which is a shame. Barely adequate food, value for money to be reviewed, the dishes are assembled, I doubt that the kitchen does anything other than open bags of frozen foods. In short, move on.

The waiting time was very long. One waitress had a bad attitude and would just roll her eyes. Although the environment is very good, there is no need to come here and be annoyed.

I visited the restaurant with my family during the Christmas holiday. The Christmas decorations were amazing with many eye-catching animatronics such as polar bear and Santa Clause and more. The food was good too serving the classic German dishes in large portions despite what the waitress called “normal size”. However, all those amazing points were all ruined by one waitress. She didn’t offer any chidren highchair even though, we later found out that there were plenty hiding at the corner. She was extremely rude to me and my wife right in-front of our young children. We didn’t want to order any drinks so she shouted loudly “we are a restaurant so you must order drinks” forcing us to order sparkling water. At the end, during payment, she slammed the receipt on the table saying this number had not included any tips and again forcing us to add another €10. Since it was Christmas but as we were extremely disgusted with her attitude so far I decided to tip only €1. She immediately shouted “this is not nice” to which I seemly replied “i’m sorry”. Unfortunately she ended shouted even louder “no, it is not very nice at all”. A very disrespectful and shameful display of a waitress as well as an human being!!! Dont go there unless you want to be treated the same way.

We waited for 10 minutes in the restaurant. Asked if we could sit down but were told to wait. We then tried to speak to a waiter and he completely ignored us. I’ve got no problem waiting, but being ignored is a pretty off putting. Go to Caserole or RathausGlockel for a nice place.

Magnificent restaurant, a magical Christmas atmosphere for young and old. A typical setting. Unfortunately the service leaves something to be desired, the waiters are unfriendly, you have not yet put down your cutlery when the plate is taken. Flat level they are not up to the price, good but much too expensive.

Since the last price increase in 2024, the offerings in this restaurant have unfortunately become overpriced and the price-performance ratio is no longer right. A few examples: 1/4 simple red country wine €10.20, 0.75 l Teinacher water €9.90, simple potato soup €11.20, cheese spaetzle €17.80, etc. OK for a 5 star hotel, but not for a relatively simple restaurant. The food portions offered are also very clear and do not justify the price. The service is still good, the permanent staff has been there for years, the support staff fluctuates, but in my opinion this is not a disadvantage. There is always a very nice Christmas decoration (Easter decoration, etc.) in front of the restaurant, but this year for the first time it is just tacky and almost painful. In this respect, even more of a purely tourist restaurant. If you like it, okay.

The price/performance ratio is absolutely -------- not. Schnitzel with fries - chip shop character! Drinks grossly overpriced. And then also a flat rate of €3.50 per person. Note: They will probably be delivered by helicopter. Not recommended for families with children. Staff and service leaves a lot to be desired. The only thing that catches the eye is the elaborate and sometimes overloaded Christmas decorations.

Extraordinary Löwenbräu restaurant with extremely intense and impressive Christmas decorations. Eat and drink as you would expect.

It wasn't our first time here, but it's our last time. Every year we come to eat in the restaurant and enjoy the beautiful decoration and atmosphere. Unfortunately, yesterday's visit was very unpleasant. We were there for lunch with the whole family. Restaurant was almost empty. My father, my husband and my mom have already sat down and wanted to order Bavarian sausage with pretzel and beer for €12 until 12 p.m. But the waitress immediately said they wouldn't take any orders until we were all full. Since I went to wash and change my hands with both children, the hungry and thirsty ones still had to wait. When we were complete, it was just after 12 p.m., the very arrogant Keller immediately said that the offer had expired. Then my mom started arguing and he then accepted the order. We ordered drinks and sausage. I asked for 2 children's cups, only one came. When ordering food, it took my husband 2 minutes, the cellar didn't want to wait (it didn't bring anything, the restaurant on Monday for lunch was almost empty), he said he would come back, but my husband asked to wait a moment, it would take a while Not for long, the cellar still went. We yelled hello, hello, please wait at him in the back, he heard us, but left anyway. Then he finally brought the second children's cup with him and placed it on the table. I was there with my thoughts and didn't say anything to him, but he lectured me: Thank you, please, thank you, please. That was enough for me. I wanted to spend a nice time with my family and not spoil the mood. I've waited too long. We were told to leave immediately when our order was not accepted because it was incomplete. We asked to change the waiter, didn't leave a tip and left. We're never coming back. You can also admire beautiful decorations from outside and move on.

Price-performance is not given. The seating is too tight and the prices are pretty juicy. Probably €10.00 per meal is included for decoration.

Service quick and friendly, ambience good, food delicious... BUT: the lumberjack steak was a schnitzel... The kitchen could please google what a lumberjack steak looks like, fat edge... rind... round piece of bone😊

Christmas decorations are unique and beautiful

A restaurant that is high on Christmas decoration, magical for adults and children. The welcome is cold, you'll tell me it's normal, it's Germany, well no, unfortunately over the three days spent in the Christmas markets, it's the only restaurant where the waiters don't match the decor. My wife has celery allergy problems + +, after reporting it, the waiters bring us back a binder with the dishes and allergens and deal with it.... So after 15 minutes we end up having an ordinary mushroom pancake and a sauerkraut with 6 sausages, no taste and really light, forced to have other snacks an hour later... So ultimately if you want to eat good food this is not the place, if you want friendly service it's not normal here anymore, but Christmas magic is here..... Excessive pricing for the service.

Very nice place but having to wait 15 minutes on the terrace before being served is a shame... (everyone was complaining...) not to mention the very unfriendly waitress who has no change and who almost orders you to 'go pay by card inside… in short…..

Horrible! We waited 1h30min for the order. Several tables around with customers who arrived later were served. Some ate and left. And we look... We were leaving when the food arrived. We think it was the waiter who forgot to place the order in the kitchen. But he must not have had the courage to admit it. The manager came and was very rude. We asked for the complaints book and were denied. He made a series of excuses, but never apologized for what happened. As it was my birthday, and to avoid further problems, we ended up staying, but we didn't eat almost anything. There was no ambiance and the meat was cold and dry. We paid €83.40. Money thrown away. They didn't even have the kindness to make a discount, after so many failures. I don't recommend it. Everything is very expensive, bad service. A 0.75l water almost €10, a 0.33l beer, more than seven €... Anyway... to forget!

The most decorated Christmas bar in Baden-Baden. We had an exquisite pumpkin soup for dinner and some pork fillets with cherry sauce accompanied by spraztle (a scarce dish). ⚠️⚠️ BE CAREFUL WITH WATER: €9.90 for a 0.75 cl bottle 💸💸

Fabulously decorated for Christmas...like in Winter Wonderland. Restaurant beautifully decorated inside. Food also good and lots of choice. It's worth a trip here. I'm enchanted.

The knuckle was dry and was the worst I've ever had. Disproportionate quality-price ratio. We ordered a glass of red wine and they charged us €11.20. I certainly wouldn't repeat.

Tourist attraction for Christmas season with beautiful decoration. The prices are quite steep.

Located on a pedestrian street. The place is very cozy and the decoration is very German. The workers are dressed in typical costumes. They treated us very well and have menus in several languages, including Spanish. The food was very good.

We were here with a small group. Compared to previous visits, the food is worse, the service is more chaotic and the prices, especially for drinks, have become higher. We had made a reservation for the evening, but it wasn't necessary. On the one hand the table was not prepared, on the other hand the restaurant was not very busy. Only the head waiter seems to understand German. The ones who brought the food probably didn't. In any case, even when we asked, they didn't speak to us and couldn't name or assign the dishes. Everything was simply put on the table and we had to distribute it among ourselves. The ratio between main course and side dish is wrong. Since cappuccino and hot chocolate look the same and the staff didn't know what was in where or who had ordered what, we were only able to identify them after we had tried everything. Apparently Löwenbräu invests a lot in decoration, especially in the run-up to Christmas, but very little in its own staff or their training. One assumes that most of the guests are tourists who won't come back anyway. Even though we don't live far away, we won't be coming back. In any case, this restaurant is not an advertisement for the Löwenbräu.

There were 3 of us there but very unfriendly, intrusive service. Reception looks different and don't run after the donation can if you don't give a tip.

Nice corner, the food was good, but!!! We were with a group of 6 people. The “invoice” (written by hand on a piece of paper) wasn’t correct at all (clearly, in favor of the restaurant) The waiter was really annoyed because we wanted to pay separately and needed three bills. I would pay close attention to what will be collected. I've never experienced anything like that in Germany. Sure, it's a tourist place, but it has a really unpleasant aftertaste that you don't want to have on vacation.

Disappointed by the potato/tomato pancakes, gratinated, the salad ordered was not served either. I had to have the gratin dish sent back to the kitchen because it was completely cold in the middle, and it came back not much hotter, without any comment or apology from the server when paying the bill. (4 tables occupied in this space of the restaurant where we were seated Stress in the kitchen 🤔?....) I do not recommend this place, catches TOURISTS. Christmas decoration the exterior and interior is impressive.

The food is terribly bad or of poor quality. If you order, you have to wait hours for them to be prepared, and they are saltless and tasteless. The waiters do not know the language, they are ignorant and expect the wine. It's a tourist trap and they manipulate you with the decoration in exchange for bad food and expensive drinks.

The ambience here was quite nice. However, I found the prices, especially for the drinks, to be significantly overpriced.

Went there for dinner with people last Friday. And what can I say... just top service, food and price. Of course the ambience is also great. Can only be recommended and would be happy to come back, even if we are from Freiburg.

Nice atmosphere, but despite what feels like a dozen employees you wait forever. Over 6 euros for a 0.4L apple spritzer is no longer comprehensible to me. Almost 8 euros for the cyclist, either. My coleslaw wasn't even delivered, but there was no one to whom I could report it. Food was normal, but not as outstanding as the prices would suggest. Plus a mini portion of side dishes...Small cappuccino cup as a portion of spaetzle. You definitely shouldn't be hungry. We won't go there again.

We were hungry and stopped by here after seeing it earlier during walking tour of area on river cruise. We opted to eat downstairs due to weather. See photo. Menu choices was just what we wanted soup and salad. One can also eat outside along sidewalk or upstairs. And WC was available. Menu in multiple languages.

Whether for a cozy dinner, a hearty snack or just a cold beer in the beer garden - in the Löwenbräu you feel like you are in Bavaria.

The food tasted good, the furnishings were typically Bavarian and cozy. However, the price/performance doesn't fit at all. Waiters who only come after 20 minutes and clear the food while people are still eating. At €7.20 for half everything just had to fit and it didn't. Ultimately, unfortunately, category tourist trap.

A very pleasant setting, a nice menu with good cuisine. On the other hand, ordering, being served cleared (see photo) or simply seen by a waiter is a real challenge, even with an almost empty restaurant. It’s a real shame because this could be a must in Baden-Baden. But there, I can only suggest that you go your way.

A good place to stop and have a meal and a beverage. It always seems to be very busy here but you can find a spot pretty easily.

Nothing special at very high prices. Once you sit they charge 5eur per person for half a portion of bread and one pretzel to share with the table. This applies also if you are going only for drinks.

How can we explain our “magnificent experience”? Let's start with the welcome which was of a coldness rarely encountered in a restaurant. The only smile we had was when we paid the bill Let's then focus on the dishes, we had a käsespätzle which turned out to only have the taste of fried onions. We also had ribs (probably reheated given the texture), quick to eat given the little meat present on them and certainly not talking about the barbecue sauce with a strong taste of alcohol... but don't count on a good glass of water to convey the taste because the price of 75cl of still water is charged at 9.50 euros. Ashamed Restaurant to avoid at all costs.

The atmosphere is cozy, the food is delicious and the service in traditional costume is super friendly.

The staff was not very friendly and when the chef made a mistake in our order and served us warm pasta with cheese that we had not ordered and refused to give us our chosen dishes. Too expensive for simple pasta. We will not return there.

Bianca was our waitress and she was just amazing, super friendly, sweet, recommended really the best thing for us. The food was fast, she made us feel comfy, she really took good care of us. We didn’t have cash but we tipped by card and asked them to be given to her. But at the end they told us the tips go to the owner? But after we paid the tips? Which I found rude. But please if you go there ask for Bianca she will really make your experience the most amazing

Normally we went to the Löwenbräu in Baden-Baden every year for festival events. But this time we were shocked at the insane prices. A light 0.5 costs 7.20. A liver dumpling soup costs 10.50 and the broth isn't even anything special. Matjes fillet 17.50 and you first have to look for the matjes under the lettuce and onion rings and first the 2 small white sausages with pretzel (which was totally crunchy) 11.20 That's too much of a good thing. We don't go there anymore. this is a rip off. I spend a lot of time outside and in Dresden or Leipzig the breweries are a third to half cheaper.

Not having a place outside we were upstairs, in a somewhat dark room.. the menu is well stocked, the plates could be a little more at this price. Unfortunately the welcome and the services are quite cold...the decor and the Bavarian costumes are not everything. Too expensive for what it is...borderline tourist traps.

Kudos to the staff in traditional costume who made the evening very special. Authentic Bavarian food and great wine!

Very unfriendly and condescending service and restaurant management. A visit is no fun, and the food is just average. Not recommended, you could rather go to a fast food restaurant and get better and friendlier service.

The wine, the staff in traditional costume and the authentic food made the evening perfect. We'll definitely be back!
