I was there again a few months ago, after avoiding it for several years due to sobering experiences. But it's still true: in my experience, every corner bistro in Paris has better food, better wines by the glass, and better service than this restaurant. I'd even call the wines by the glass a disgrace. I haven't even mentioned the prices yet. I find it unbelievable that so many people here rate it differently—seemingly with extremely low standards or no knowledge of what's good. But I've noticed this in Berlin and not only here. Conversely, when great passion, quality, and good service in the spirit of classic hospitality are offered, the places are packed, even in Berlin. I often see this one quite empty these days when I walk past at lunch or in the evening. I can understand why.

The best fillet steaks in town with a matching Vernaise sauce. The green beans are juicy, and almost all of them are very delicate.

Paris in Berlin! The steak tartare with French fries is top-notch! As are the snails! Fantastic atmosphere!

If you live largely in France, it feels like coming home here. Naturally, you'll speak French with the French owner. We enjoyed a delicious Cahors wine to pair with classic dishes.

One of the best and most authentic French restaurants in Berlin! Great atmosphere!

Located on a lovely little square, the dishes are pretty much what you'd expect from a French restaurant in Germany. Everything is prepared classically, without any hint of fusion or experimentation, made from good ingredients and very well-cooked. A small but well-selected wine list.

A Slice of France in Berlin. Louis Laurent is the kind of restaurant that makes you forget what city you’re in. A sip of wine, one bite of steak, and suddenly you’re strolling the streets of Paris. This place is pure charm, wrapped in elegance. The food? A triumph. The meat arrived cooked to absolute perfection. A delicate balance of juiciness, tenderness and flavor. We chose a bold and “velvety” cognac sauce that fit perfectly. Then came the “fosforito” potato (Streichholzkartoffeln), which deserve their own fan club. I devoured mine embarrassingly fast and found myself staring at my husband's Streichholzkartoffeln like a hawk (he was, unfortunately for him, hoping he could have mine too but it was too late). Wine selection is of course impeccable and the service is also great. Attentive, polished and warm. The vibe? Chic and playful at the same time. There’s even a bell on the wall that you can ring to order champagne. Honestly, how brilliant is that? I didn’t get to test it this time (wrong seat placement), but consider it my mission for the next visit. I am pretty sure though, that the bell does not work, but it is definitely a cool idea. Overall, Louis Laurent is an experience fueled by passion, precision, flavour and a solid French flair. If you’re in Berlin and want a dinner that feels like a quick, and elegant, escape to Paris, this is the spot. Go hungry, go curious, and do not share your Streichholzkartoffeln.

I attended an event hosted by Red Club Berlin at the Louis Lauren Restaurant, and I was absolutely thrilled! The ambiance is stylish and elegant, the food outstanding and prepared with great attention to detail. The service was also attentive, professional, and very warm—you feel completely at home. A perfect place for special occasions and events. Thank you for this wonderful time—I would love to come back! ❤️

Yesterday, two of us were guests at the restaurant, but sat outside. A very competent and friendly French waiter served us very pleasantly. The dishes from the daily menu (salmon fillet and rump of beef) were fantastic and super freshly prepared. The onion soup, what can I say, was the best I've ever eaten. Homemade French fries, wow, what more could you ask for? Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. We'd love to come back.

A French restaurant, as you would expect from a book. While very expensive, the quality of the dishes is justifiable. The spare ribs were fantastic. The service was attentive. The ambiance is very, very nice inside and out; you feel like you're in Paris. We've saved it for a special evening.

Lovely place, small and beautiful, reminded me very much of Paris. The waiter was very kind and the ribs Louis Laurent were delicious. The fries were also delicious.

My first impression was good, and the meal met up to the experience. We had a small language barrie, nothing a little friendly reparte couldn’t fix! Our meals were priced well, the ambiance was fantastic and service was solid.

The restaurant actually looks quite nice. However, the interior seems a bit dingy, and the dishes lack freshness. The wine list is very limited—a bit like Aldi. The highlight, however, are the waiters, who are hard to beat in terms of arrogance and cheekiness. Guys—you're not at Cafe Fleur or Escargots. French hospitality isn't a given here; the waiters are more at home in the Parisian suburbs.

The food and service was good, but unfortunately the entire experience was ruined by a payment process. The waiter brought a bill for 89,5€ and ruthlessly put on the card terminal 100€, saying they charge a service fee. It was outrageous. For 13 years of restaurant experiences in Berlin, I see such an attitude. Just putting an amount of tips without asking or suggesting… attached you can see a receipt from this restaurant, so to confirm the entire unpleasant situation.

A small but fine French restaurant. We received a very friendly welcome and the service was very accommodating. Everything was right and, above all, tasty. Foie gras was wonderful and homemade, the beef fillet was grilled to perfection. The french fries allumettes were also quite tasty. We had a lovely evening and ate very well.

Everything is classic French, like you expect it or at least hope for it, typical selection of dishes, fair pricing. Things aren't any better in Paris. Professional, unobtrusive service. We sat outside in lovely weather. The environment is also good. Almost like a little vacation in the middle of Charlottenburg. Addition: the interior is just as authentic! Everything said above is confirmed with each of the now very frequent visits. An oasis!

I really can't understand the good reviews for this restaurant. There were four of us there and we didn't eat well nor did we have attentive service at the table. The beef tartare was of acceptable quality, but was far too coarsely cut. The duck confit was just a braised duck leg, but lacked any spices and flavors such as orange, rosemary, thyme and honey. The fried trout fillets were also completely underseasoned. These dishes only came with inconsequential thin French fries as a side dish. I ordered the beef bourguignon myself and was unfortunately extremely disappointed. The meat was still ok, but everything else that makes this such a tasty dish was missing. No champions (as specifically stated on the menu), no shallots and no burgundy in the sauce. Only steamed and unseasoned carrot slices and broccoli were placed in the bland sauce. I let everyone at the table try it and none of us liked it. After the complaint and the return, this dish was still charged in full. I think the chef should find out how to prepare such a dish correctly and then try it again. Furthermore, the service at the table was hardly available; we always refilled ourselves the completely overpriced wine. The complaint about the food was not passed on either, which suggests that one cannot and is not allowed to make the slightest recommendation here. It's good that the city also has other good restaurants to offer.

Sorry! but as a so called french fine cuisine and upper price level Restaurant in the middle of Berlin you should also offer an extraordinary service for this high prices! If the food is not really the best by the way ! We were visiting this Restaurant during a Business trip in Berlin and i Reserve for our Business dinner with a group of 6 I booked 1 day in advance, on the day of Reservation I recieved an confirmation call by the Restaurant was calling me to confirm our Reservation. Then the Drama happend when we arrived our table was given away to another group and we had to wait nearly 20-25min untill the table was ready for us. The Service was totally overloaded and stressed out. When serving the wine, half of it ended up on the tablecloth and it was quite stressfull for them. My Boeuf Bourguignon was poor in flavour no salt pepper or and no herbs and the vegetables like potatoes and carrots were really raw uncooked! one of my colleague recieved her dish without topping no shrimps in the dish! As a resume we would not come again here the food is not the price worth and the Service is overloaded and stressed out! There better Restaurants for less money

Small restaurant with very good food. The service was also good.

I changed my reservation by phone from 12:30 to 11:30. When I got there the restaurant was closed and I was told they don't open until 12 and the colleague on the phone probably didn't know that. You may also want to update your opening hours on the website. According to this it is open from 10 on weekends. Something like that can happen, but a phone call would have been nice - so I had to spontaneously think of a new plan for a Saturday morning and the trip was free. It's a shame, I actually like coming but that was really annoying.

Very good service, preferably from the French waiter because of the very special French feeling 🫠 and the food was also excellent. We had a Cremand Rosé as an aperitif beforehand, which was better than the Moët at home the day before. It was a wonderful evening.

I booked a reservation for Valentine’s Day, only to have it canceled on the day of. Since it was a peak dining night, every restaurant was already fully booked. Instead of taking responsibility for ensuring their reservation systems were properly synced, they blamed OpenTable and claimed they “tried” to call. How does a restaurant of this level not have its table and reservation data properly connected to its POS? If you don’t even know where your passwords are and have to rely on calling these reservation platforms, that’s a serious red flag. Do you not have a reservations manager? When I pointed out how unacceptable this was, they hung up on me. This level of disorganization—especially on such an important day—is inexcusable and reflects poorly on whoever is in charge of operations.

We were there at a time when it wasn't busy, but unfortunately the service wasn't very good. We had to remind the waiter several times what we had ordered. Unfortunately, the meat wasn't cooked properly. The desserts are very tasty

Excellent service, delicious food and cozy atmosphere. What else can you ask for? The waiters are very friendly and attentive. The menu offers a wide range of great dishes and there is also a daily menu with specials. The background music is very tastefully chosen and fits the French style of the restaurant. Their wine selection is top notch. Will definitely come back again and again.

Unfortunately, my companion and I had a very unpleasant waiter during our visit. He seemed super arrogant and arrogant. I don't know whether this behavior was supposed to be typically "French", but unfortunately it dampened the mood a bit. His colleagues were very polite and a nice white-haired gentleman said goodbye to us in a very friendly manner, which is etched in my memory. The food was ok, but not great either. The ambience was nice.

Delicious food, the staff tries very hard, but unfortunately my order was mixed up and the dish was not replaced. Having ordered pasta with shrimp, they brought me pasta with tomato sauce, and when I reported a mistake, the dish was not replaced, but fried shrimp were brought separately... but this is not the same dish. This spoiled the impression of dinner a little. Onion The soup is incomparable! Otherwise everything was great!

I have booked a table for my boyfriend's birthday and arrived on time only to find out that my booking was cancelled even though the service confirmed it online. I received a phonecall from an unknown number but there was no message left in the automatic inbox. Unfortunately the way they have handled the situation on site was very disrespectful, without any will to find a solution. They have made me feel it was my fault that there is no table, when in fact they have failed to provide a reliable booking information or cancel the reservation in a timely manner. I won't be visiting this place in the future.

They cancelled our reservation without telling us. They didn’t even apologize and claimed they notified us about the cancellation, but that wasn’t true. Fortunately we called beforehand to check, otherwise we would have arrived with no reservation and a full restaurant.

If you like Charlottenburg and French food, this is the place for you.

Delightfully authentic French bistro restaurant. Service “comme il faut” and cuisine that would also be honored in France. The beef bourguignon is exemplary.

The atmosphere is totally idyllic and you get the feeling of sitting in a restaurant in Paris. The decor is wonderful and entertaining thanks to the many interesting film covers. The “Press for Champagne” button is a real classic. The food was also great although it was quite expensive. Even simple pasta with tomato sauce was created into a unique and delicious dish. The service is also nice and helpful and child-friendly. I have to say that if you come with children you will definitely be looked at from top to bottom by other guests, which can make you feel a bit uncomfortable.

An absolute delight! The Louis Laurent completely convinced us! The tartare was super fresh and so tender that it melted in your mouth - perfectly seasoned. The duck foie gras was simply amazing: creamy, rich in taste and simply pure luxury. The service was also totally relaxed and professional, we felt completely comfortable. If you like French cuisine, you definitely shouldn't miss this restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

From the moment we entered the restaurant we felt like we had entered a small part of France. The atmosphere was charming and cozy, with a touch of elegance that didn't feel cluttered but struck a perfect balance between stylish and inviting. The food is simply sensational. Every bite was a poem. The starters – whether Escargots de Bourgogne or the delicately seasoned Salad Niçoise – set the tone for the rest of the evening. The main courses were a real feast: tender entrecôte, perfectly cooked, accompanied by a light yet aromatic ratatouille. The fish was buttery soft and a real revelation. The wine selection is exquisite and offers the perfect accompaniment to every dish. We were particularly enthusiastic about the in-house dessert: a crème brûlée, whose caramelized crust makes the heart of every dessert lover beat faster. The service was excellent - attentive but not intrusive, and always willing to make recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Conclusion: This restaurant is a haven for anyone who wants to enjoy French cuisine in its most authentic form. Every visit feels like a short vacation in France. Absolutely recommended!

Very very French restaurant with exactly what we are looking for for this kind of place. The food and service were excellent. Cooking perfect meats! The only downside is that the price of the wines is a little exaggerated for renowned but not rare estates with margins that are a little too high compared to the prices of the estates. But I recommend and I will come back.

We have waited for 15 mins only to make an order and even after that time we haven't got any attention. So we left and I cannot say anything about the food. But it better be exceptional if you must wait 20 mins just to get a chance to order that food.

After a long break, a visit to Laurent again. The prices have increased like elsewhere, but the quality and service are still top. So if the stock market is not consumptive, a very good address.

We ate outside in a nice part of town. The food was very good and tasty. Very attentive and friendly staff. Fine dining, which of course has its price. Gladly again.

We were here again after 2 years and weren't as overwhelmed as the first time. Ambience and service are undoubtedly excellent, very nice indoor and outdoor areas. But the price of the card and the quality don't match for us. Blackened olives? High prices for simple dishes, and the wine is also exorbitantly expensive. We haven't even spent that much in the oyster company on Sylt. For us, the price-performance ratio is no longer right here. It's a shame, but we won't come back.

I had dinner at Louis Laurent with my wife last week and we were very impressed. The waiters were consistently present and always there for you. The food was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. A really fine and beautiful restaurant and also very central. I would highly recommend it, best regards to the fabulous chef

Such a lovely place to eat and drink. Dennis is such a good waiter, always a pleasure to be served by him. Only recommended!

New or different chef? We have enjoyed coming here again and again over the years. Small but cozy inside and really nice to sit outside on warm summer nights. After about a year we were happy to take a look again, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. My entrecôte seemed more like 150g and was more than well done, even though it was ordered medium. The allumettes were far too burnt and could only be enjoyed with the Béarnaise sauce. A look at photos from our last visits confirms both. My wife's salmon was very bitter and hardly edible, which may have been due to the truffle puree she ordered instead of normal puree. However, there were no real truffle slices like we knew from the fries, just very small black “spice” flakes that were sprinkled over both. For the €5 extra charge we could have ordered an extra portion of truffle puree for €7.5. Even the beer wasn't really cold. Only the red wine tasted very good, as usual. Overall, we were very disappointed and would rather not take any risks with the prices in the future. If it helps the owner: We were there on April 6th.

I discovered the restaurant by chance in mid-March. The business lunch advertised from the outside was good and so I ended up in this French gem. The waiters were consistently friendly and the atmosphere was nice. A really nice mini trip to France. The 3-course meal consisted of cauliflower soup with croutons, followed by mini chicken and beef skewers with vegetables of the day and - of course - chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything was simply delicious and, at a total of 18.50 euros, quite inexpensive. Unfortunately I couldn't try any wine or champagne, but the water was ok too ;)

Welcome to a French gem. The charming service acts flawlessly and is always on hand. The creations are wonderful. And very well crafted. The excellent Bordeaux can also be enjoyed excellently. Certainly a restaurant where opinions differ... It was very well attended and the guests seemed happy. I was there with a friend and the food took forever. Wine list is good, on average, €70 a bottle and the food was so-so. It's a shame I would have expected more from a French restaurant with the flair and standards.

Typically pretty restaurant that tourists imagine in Paris, even the music is French. Unfortunately, the meal wasn't that satisfying: pieces of shell were stuck in a snail. The ribs we ordered were particularly small, with a lot of bones. The meat, which was hard to find, was tough, so there was no trace of tenderness. The ratatouille that came with it had been cooking for a long time, but apparently wasn't seasoned. The waiter broke the glass of water, the stockings got wet, but you were only given a fresh glass without moving. You could be more generous. A very disappointing culinary evening.

We had on February 14th. made an online reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant we were assigned a table, but after a short time we were asked again about our reservation. Apparently we had to pay a deposit for our reservation, but there was no mention of this online or in the reservation confirmation email. In any case, we were sent out of the restaurant again with the statement “We cannot serve you”. If you also find such situations unpleasant, you should avoid this restaurant. A pity.

The food was good and the atmosphere was nice, no question. Unfortunately, we (two younger women) were suddenly treated worse after we didn't order wine to drink and opted for salad with shrimp because our original meal request from the menu wasn't available. While our coats were taken away from us at the reception in an almost exaggeratedly polite manner, we weren't even looked at when we left and had to fish our coats out of the clutter in the cloakroom ourselves. Instead, I was pushed aside slightly because I was probably in the way for a moment. The interaction with other guests, however, seemed a lot more courteous. We behaved politely throughout, thanked everyone for everything that was brought and tipped in keeping with decorum. It's a shame that people here probably don't like it if you order something relatively cheap because you just feel like it - or for whatever reason. Even though the food was good, I won't come back and won't recommend it to others. You can get something comparable in Berlin, with friendly service for all customers.

Wir hatten einen schönen Abend im Laurent. Der Service war klassische und und gut. Der Abend war perfekt, so wie ich es mir seit langen wieder gewünscht hatte. Tischdecken, weiße Kerzen, kleine klassische Blumendeko, schwarz weiß gekleidete Kellner, die einfach alles richtig machen. Dazu sehr gutes französisches Essen, mit einem mittlerweile angemessen Preis. Auf keinen Fall günstig, aber sehr gut!!
