Review for L'Osteria – Pizza e Pasta On Saturday evening, December 21, 2024, I went to your restaurant without a reservation at around 7:10 p.m. An employee informed me that the next free table would not be available for another 1-2 hours. I found this disappointing as I saw several free tables, including tables for 4-5 people, that were only partially occupied. I then spontaneously made a reservation online and suddenly a table was available at 7:45 p.m. This surprised and annoyed me, as it gave the impression that guests without reservations were being disadvantaged. I wouldn't have had a problem sharing a table with other guests if that had been possible. Such alternatives could help reduce waiting times and increase guest satisfaction. Although the food was good, the organization and handling of guests without reservations was disappointing. For this reason, I decided not to tip and will only give it 2 out of 5 stars this time

The service on site was first class. Unfortunately my request for vegetarian carbonara was lost on the way to the chef, but it was quickly remedied. The atmosphere is inviting. I'd love to come back 👍🏻

Been there several times now. Food always 10/10, service always good. Was served for the second time by Jannis, who is always super nice and often asks if you need anything else but is never too intrusive. Unfortunately, the online reservation didn't work despite the confirmation email, which meant there was a waiting time... but that was bearable...

I was there with 15 people (with reservation, Christmas party) and we had plenty of space. In some restaurants the seating is cramped, but we had a lot of space there. The service staff were very friendly and kept coming to ask if everything was okay, if we needed anything else, etc. There is a lot of choice for food. Whenever we had questions about the food, we always received information. It often happened to us that in a dish you wanted something different from what was there. These wishes were implemented so that everyone could fully enjoy their meal. The restaurant is very tidy and simply/subtly furnished. The music was tailored to the run-up to Christmas, which created a nice atmosphere. We were all very happy there and would consider holding a celebration there again

We love the waitress, Mara. She is friendly and humorous, she laughs along with funny comments and when the order is challenging, she advises us confidently and professionally! Nowadays I am very happy about solution-oriented employees who are at peace with themselves and enjoy their work!

I always enjoy coming to L'osteria Wuppertal. There is a great lunch table - for me a nice balance to everyday life. It always feels a bit like a vacation. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is extremely tasty ♥️

We were there at lunchtime on December 28th, 2024 with 5 people. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Our drink request and our food order were quickly taken. Waiting time was completely fine. All the dishes were also very tasty We had: Pizza salami Pizza prosciutto and funghi Pizza Degli Artisti 2 x tortellini and panna Everything was really great. I can recommend everyone to take a look

Very friendly service. Huge good tasting pizza. The employee drew my attention to the new small side salad for €2.99. That was very thoughtful. The salad was fresh, with great dressing. Unfortunately the table was a bit too small for 3 people with 3 pizzas.

Food was forgotten and brought to the table at 8:30 p.m. Conclusion: Food was ok, the service was a complete disaster! An absolute highlight! The food was excellent every dish perfectly prepared and full of flavor. There was also a great selection of wines that complemented the meal wonderfully. The food was very good!!! Freshly and deliciously prepared. The service was very nice and helpful, always asking if everything was OK or if you needed anything else. Known for their very large pizzas, you can get the rest packed up to take away. We had booked a table and it had to be vacated first. The tables are very, very close together, so you're practically sitting next to the person at the next table.

Great Italian style pizzas, varied menu, reasonable prices. Service was friendly, and spoke English. Had quite a buzz, a little noisy but not unusually so.

Stopped by spontaneously and had a selection of free tables. It was the middle of the week and still busy. The pizzas cannot be compared with the pre-packaged pizza from the supermarket. Had fresh shrimp and fresh onions. Tuna was good. Salad from the other pizza was good. The size speaks for itself, I have never eaten such a large fresh pizza in any other restaurant. If you like eating huge pizzas, this is definitely the place for you. You can also share, but only half can be topped with two different types of pizza. For example, like in the picture, chicken BBC and chicken something else. You can also take 2 other variants. If you can't manage all the pizzas, you can get them packed upon request. Service was there, friendly and attentive.

We were at L'Osteria on a Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. I had reserved a table for 6 people. The young lady at reception was very friendly and the table was very large. The waiter was also very friendly and took the drinks order. Unfortunately the whole thing took a while, but it was also very full and he was alone. The same goes for food too. It always took a while and didn't come at the same time. The last one didn't have his pizza until 5-10 later. But the waiter apologized for that. The pizzas are very large and taste good, pasta dishes and soup are normal portions. Prices are good. Overall, I find it comfortable there, it tastes good and you get full. You have to deal with the volume when it's full. Small deduction for the waiting time. Maybe you should hire 2 waiters during peak times. But overall it was good. The toilets were clean and you can learn Italian. I can definitely recommend L'Osteria.

Horrible staff! As regular guests we were treated very rudely on 11/24/24. To describe just one example from that day: During the ordering process, the waitress turned away from us without a word and didn't come back. She also became loud and unfriendly towards colleagues. When we wanted to pay and we asked to complete the card payment at the table and not at the counter, she loudly complained about us. Gesturing wildly, she sent another colleague to our table. Respectful treatment - no trace. We celebrated our meeting once a month and also our birthdays as a family in this restaurant, but this time it wasn't a nice experience. Time to name a new restaurant as our flagship restaurant.

On Friday we had dinner there with 4 people. Our table was reserved and everything seemed to work wonderfully. The first drinks came quite quickly, the main thing was good and the waiting time was completely fine. A really nice evening so far! But then... After the main course, two of us wanted dessert and an espresso. Unfortunately, dessert and an espresso were forgotten. The forgotten espresso arrived late, and unfortunately the tiramisu didn't arrive at all. What then came, however, was an employee who politely informed us that we now had to vacate our table because other guests wanted the table. Since our glasses were still almost full, we didn't really see it and couldn't quite understand why we should leave now. Then came the completely overwhelmed and rude boss, who actually more or less kicked us out. Either we drink our drinks at the bar or we would have to leave. He now needs the table. The end of the story was that we drank our drinks anything but comfortably and then left the place. Conclusion: after only 90 minutes, we had to leave the restaurant. 4 people who left a lot of money there were scared away so that the mass processing could continue! So unfortunately we definitely won't be coming back again. What a shame!

We tried in vain to order something. Via the app and website. Didn't work. We then wanted to order by phone... well after calling four times we gave up. Won't be eating there again for now.

I've enjoyed eating there so far. Today was the last time. For the first time I sat in the restaurant with a view of the cooking area. An outdoor employee comes into the restaurant in street clothes with a backpack on his back and heads to the cooking area first, he greets every chef/pizza maker exuberantly with an elaborate handshake. They then carelessly kneaded dough and continued to pick leaves from the lettuce. No thought was wasted on washing hands. As soon as pizzas were ready, the waiters cut them into pieces. To do this, every pizza (not the plates) was touched around the edge and turned, and this also took place constantly without hands being washed even once. Regardless of whether there was a cashier beforehand, someone scratching their arms or a gentleman constantly running his hands through his longer hair, afterwards every pizza was touched and then brought to the people's tables without a hint of hygiene. We ate pasta that was really tasty and everyone was friendly. But I'm actually really annoyed and disappointed.

Went to the losteria in Wuppertal with friends today and were served by a certain gentleman named “LEO” who served us in a more than unfriendly manner and told us 3 times in a very arrogant manner that he was taking our orders that we had chosen couldn't put it on the menu, although we only wanted to change the toppings of the order. It was just bad. Not recommended!!!!!!!

L’Osteria is absolutely recommended and really impressed me! The service is really impeccable - the staff is attentive, friendly and always there when you need something. You immediately feel welcome and well looked after. The food also deserves high praise. The portions are huge, so everyone will be full, and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. Here you can get delicious dishes in generous quantities without having to dig deep into your pockets. The only small point of criticism is the narrow distance between the tables - with some tables it happens that when you get up you have to get the neighboring table to get up too in order to get through. Unfortunately, the music is also a bit loud, which makes it difficult to have a relaxed conversation without having to raise your voice!

We were there this afternoon, on the holiday, with a child. The service was really, really good! Compliments to the young man in service. I haven't had such nice service in a long time. He also had an ear for my daughter, was patient when ordering and immediately brought coloring pages and pens for the little one. The food was delicious, as was the coffee or espresso from my companion. Toilets were clean. For me it was the first visit, but certainly not the last, should I be in Wuppertal again.

We have been to L'Osteria a few times. Our visits were always to our complete satisfaction. Yes, sometimes the music is a little louder, but I think that's intentional for the structure of the restaurant and the concept. The food has always been great and very tasty, the service was quick and very accommodating. However, today's waiter (lunchtime, blonde, probably German, which can only be interpreted as a description and not as a human being) has to be rated positively separately. Both on a previous visit and today, he was super friendly and very kind towards children. Courteous, polite, fast, exactly what you want in a waiter. Of course we would love to come to you, we always feel comfortable with you

I've eaten there many times and I have to say the pizzas are perfect every time. From the dough to the tomato sauce to the topping, an incredible amount of love. A good drinks menu and great ambience, in summer you can also sit outside, which is great. Unfortunately, the reason I can't give full stars is the pasta menu. I ordered pasta there twice and unfortunately I had to send it back both times because it wasn't finished yet. Most of the time they are so nice and honor your request. I can recommend this place if you want a good pizza! Update: We called the restaurant in advance and asked if we could come by and whether it wasn't so full. We were told on the phone that it was pretty empty, so we went to the restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant it was extremely crowded. Our table was between two other couples and there was no space. After asking, we were seated at another table and this was intended for 16 people. In the farthest corner and with the words "I'm adding more people to you", we didn't feel welcome and then left the restaurant.

First of all we were greeted in a very friendly manner by Jens (waiter), the food came really quickly. Everything tasted excellent. We will definitely come more often 👍🏼

Delicious, always with pleasure

There is a good selection for vegetarians too, changing Monday offers and delivery is available. We often had deliveries delivered to the office, but unfortunately the quality deteriorated significantly and the orders were more and more often delivered incomplete or simply incorrectly. Improvements were actually always made or improvements were offered, but with a 30-minute lunch break that's obviously stupid for them. Since, like everywhere else in gastronomy, it has become more expensive, I won't be going here anymore. If you want to treat yourself to a nice meal, I would go somewhere else.

Yesterday I was there for the second time. The first time last summer. Both times I was absolutely thrilled by the remarkably courteous and friendly waiter (Jens), who took great care of us and gave us advice on both visits. The delicious food, which is served quickly even when the shop is full, becomes almost secondary - when the charming service makes you feel so comfortable there. Next time I'm in Wuppertal again, I'll be happy to go there again.
