The acoustics aren't ideal, and it gets very loud due to music and conversations at neighboring tables. The atmosphere is on the bar-restaurant scale, but more on the bar side.

Had pizza, was very tasty and huge

It was our first time there. The atmosphere was lovely! Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The food came very quickly and was delicious! My only criticism is the size of the plates, given the size of the pizza—a slightly larger plate would have been perfect.

We were here last night and ordered a pizza. After about 20 minutes, the pizza still wasn't there, even though the restaurant was almost empty. Upon inquiry, we were told that the order hadn't been passed on to the kitchen at all. This was disappointing for us, as we've always had good and quick experiences as regular customers. We hope this sort of thing will be better organized in the future, as we actually enjoy coming here.

The pizza is very tasty, but unfortunately, there's no gluten-free pizza. It's a real shame.

We ate the biggest pizza of our lives there today for my wife's birthday. Unfortunately, despite mentioning her birthday when making the reservation, no one noticed! I'm wondering why they even ask about it when making the online reservation!!! The pizza was more quantity than quality. I doubt we'll be returning.

Based on older reviews, I was initially concerned about whether I'd find vegan options, but there are a few on the menu. They even have a vegan pizza, which is delicious and I highly recommend.

I went here today and ordered a Caprese pizza, but instead I was given a calzone. As a shy person, it’s really hard for me to send food back, so I just kept it but I was very disappointed. The calzone was not even good, and I really hate it when restaurants make these kinds of mistakes. I definitely won’t be coming back.

We went there with our voucher book. The food was super delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We'd be happy to come back. Reservations are advisable for groups of five.

The pizzas are huge, but sometimes the toppings aren't that great. Drinks are significantly overpriced (especially Coke, water, etc.) and it's quite loud inside. Nevertheless, the atmosphere is always pleasant and the staff is friendly.

Ordered two pizzas, one was forgotten. So I contacted the delivery company, got a refund, and reordered. Then, after about two and a half hours, I got the first forgotten pizza completely cold. Absolute rip-off, never again. For a pizzeria to forget one of two pizzas is a real art in itself.

Reservations aren't working, and no effort has been made to resolve the issue. We even called twice to confirm the number of people and repeatedly stated that we wanted to sit outside (on the same day, mind you). Upon arrival, I'm told that they don't accept reservations for the outdoor area and make no attempt to resolve the issue. So you're left standing there with all your family like a rambunctious ox in front of a mountain. Overwhelmed bunch of idiots, very poor organization...

L'Osteria in Erlangen is truly recommended! You feel welcome – a great ambiance, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere. The large pizzas are particularly impressive, impressive in their size. The flavor, thanks to the fresh ingredients and perfectly seasoned, is simply delicious. For starters, we had the antipasti platter, a real highlight, beautifully presented. The vitello tonnato was outstanding, tender veal, a delicate sauce, and a portion that was just right. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience – if you like good Italian food, we highly recommend it. We come regularly. Highly recommended!

We were here yesterday. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. The pizza was delicious. I just wish there were a few more toppings and cheese.

The prices are astronomical, and even the wagon-wheel-sized pizza doesn't make up for that. It's wafer-thin, crispy on the outside, and soggy on the inside because it's thin. Of course, you can't fit much on a wafer-thin pizza... a concept? It could also be a bit spicier. The bruschetta to start with was top-notch, even if it took a relatively long time to come. The goat cheese salad was super delicious, even though it had a seahorse effect in the dressing. Why not put the dressing next to it and everyone adds as much as they want? Then the salad won't collapse. When paying by card, there are three fields for tips: 10/20/30%. Really? By the way, there's a free field if you look closely. Without the coupon book, I probably would have had a heart attack. It's a good thing we can cook well ourselves 😄.

The visit with my mother, who is in a wheelchair, was very pleasant. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. You can sit there comfortably for a while. The menu is up to the chain's standards, and the quality of the food was beyond reproach.

We visited L'Osteria Erlangen for lunch on August 6, 2025, with a large tour group of 28 people – and it was a complete success! Despite the restaurant being very busy, everything went perfectly. We had pre-ordered the dishes, and all 28 meals arrived at the same time, hot and fresh. The pizzas were huge, incredibly delicious, and the price was absolutely fair. The homemade lemonades were also a real highlight – refreshing and delicious! The entire team deserves special praise: The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and excellently organized. Despite the lunch rush and our large group, everything went smoothly – we were well looked after and felt completely at home. Thank you so much for this wonderful lunch – we would love to come back next year with our student group!

When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by a lot of noise—very crowded, very loud, and not very inviting. It took quite a while to get our table. Once we got there, we waited about 20 minutes; no one came to take our order. So we left the restaurant.

We come here for dinner at least once a month, and we were there yesterday, too, only because we were feeling a bit under the weather. First, our child got his food, and 15 minutes later, when he was finished, my wife got her pizza. Another 10 minutes later, I got my pizza on two plates instead of one (but that's okay). When we wanted to pay, we unfortunately had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come. We'll be back anyway, of course. See you soon.

We love coming to Osteria Erl because everything is just right here, and they serve the best carbonara we've ever had. 😋 We appreciate the great service as well as the relaxed atmosphere, and we have a great time here.

The food is amazing, we often come back for our favourite pasta and desserts. There is one waiter there, who has been working there for some time and is super nice. Apart from him, the restaurant is always understaffed, waiters come and go and are also super nice... once they finally find way to your table.

As always, it was a very pleasant stay in the Italian atmosphere, just like at all the restaurants in this chain we've been to so far. However, we would have liked to have seen cushions for the metal chairs outside. It was a bit hard to sit on. We'd definitely love to come back here!

My girlfriend and I wanted to celebrate our one-month anniversary at L'Osteria – a special evening that we wanted to enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere with good food. At first, everything went well: drinks and appetizers arrived as ordered. But then the main course arrived… or rather, it didn't – it took over an hour. What made the whole thing even more frustrating: While we were waiting, new guests arrived all around us, arriving well after us – and they all received their food before us. Some were almost finished eating when we still hadn't received anything. And we sat there, hungry and increasingly disappointed. When we asked about it, the simple answer was that "something had gone wrong with the slips of paper" and our order had been delayed. No real apology. No accommodations. No free drink or dessert – nothing. The waitress tried to be friendly, but she was clearly overwhelmed and not really competent. For a restaurant like L'Osteria, which should be synonymous with good processes and hospitality, this is absolutely disappointing. An evening we were looking forward to was unfortunately completely ruined by poor organization and lackluster service. That's not how you treat guests – especially when the fault is so obviously on the restaurant's side.

I ordered Bolognese to see if the Italian place was any good. I got a senior citizen's portion, homeopathic mince, and sticky pasta. Terrible.

I rarely write reviews, but I had to do this one. I often go to Losteria and am always very satisfied. I usually go to Tullnau in Nuremberg. This time we tried Losteria Erlangen and I am quite disappointed. We arrived with a reservation, got a table straight away but then nobody came, despite us trying to get their attention. Drinks were only taken after 20 minutes and that was in temperatures over 30 degrees. So it took about 35 minutes from arrival for the drinks to arrive and about 45 minutes for the food to arrive (I'm not used to that from Losteria). It was a real shame because we "just wanted something quick" and, above all, were very thirsty in 30 degree heat. Unfortunately, everything dragged on for a long time. I must say that the woman who arrived at the same time as us, just before we got our food, drank, ate and paid and was gone again in the same time (just as we had expected). Very sad. And the woman was not the only one, more people came at the same time and everyone was served immediately, except for us, who only arrived after a good 20 minutes

The pizzas and salads are delicious. They've always been very slow to serve us, though. The waiters are friendly.

Dear future customers, I would advise you never to order pizzas through Lieferando (or other delivery chains). We ordered three pizzas and ended up paying €9.50 more than if we had picked them up. A €1 surcharge on each pizza, plus a €5 delivery fee and €1.50 for some kind of service charge (a "Ciao Bella") is an absolute disgrace! You can also skip the €4 buffalo mozzarella if it tastes worse than the regular one. All in all, very disappointing.

Yesterday, the two of us sat outside and were served quickly and very friendly (by Clara, thank you!) :) Very attentive and friendly service. The summer salad menu was just right for the weather – we highly recommend the one with strawberries and melon; I also ordered shrimp. A chocolate soufflé with mango sorbet ice cream rounded it all off perfectly! :))

When we arrived, no one showed us to a table, even though there was a sign saying we should wait for a seat. Then it took another eternity until we could order and the drinks arrived; the waitresses preferred to chat quietly. At the end, when I was paying, the waiter held out the device with the tipping options, saying I could choose anything. When I clicked on 'No tip,' he openly expressed his regret. That's unprofessional!

Unfortunately, it's now only a 1-2 star experience: We were actually regulars here, even celebrated our civil wedding there, and ate there or took food to go 1-2 times a week for years. Last year, the toppings on the takeaway pizzas were drastically reduced and the prices increased at the same time. Despite repeated requests to please top the pizzas with the same toppings as those eaten in the restaurant, we regularly only got a few pieces of tuna or 3 mini slices of spicy salami on a half-and-half. We finally changed our minds because, despite the continued good taste, the price-performance ratio just wasn't right anymore. Last week, we were in downtown Erlangen anyway and wanted to give l'Osteria another chance after months of abstinence: We ordered 2 pizzas + 1 salad online and had to wait almost 45 minutes. Okay, so far, no problems. Upon arrival, the salad hadn't even been prepared yet, and the waiter simply said, without any emotion, "It'll take a little while." There was no apology or invitation for a small drink or anything like that, even though we had to wait almost another 10 minutes. It was quiet that afternoon for L'Osteria standards, with maybe 30-40% of the tables occupied. The shocker came when we got home and unpacked and ate: The salad consisted of 90% limp green leaves and raw onions. There was hardly any trace of cucumber, radishes, or tomatoes, and the feta cheese was completely missing. The pizzas were so hard and dry that they were almost impossible to chew. I've never had such bad pizzas at L'Osteria in either Germany or Austria. So (unfortunately) that was really the end of it for us.

The food and drinks were excellent. Drink prices were quite high. The staff was friendly. The problem: the plates are much too small for the pizza size. Either get plates that fit the bill or at least pre-cut the pizza. Otherwise, it's a mess.

You wait 20 minutes for a drink and then you get the wrong one. Why would we come back? We didn't even order any more food; we'd probably wait until Christmas.

Yes, very much! Friendly service! Large selection! Food is freshly prepared in an open kitchen! Kitchen team very well organized! They also deliver pizzas and food! Pizza is delicious but very large! Special: You can also order two half pizzas with different toppings! Leftovers are well packaged and can be taken home! We'll be back!

We recently ate pizza at Osteria and were thoroughly satisfied! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting—just the thing for a relaxing evening with friends or family. The pizza was excellent: crispy base, fresh ingredients, and a wonderfully flavorful topping.

I visited this restaurant with my family last weekend and was delighted with the quality of the food and the welcoming atmosphere. The dishes were simply delicious. The atmosphere also deserves praise: cozy and with soft lighting that makes the experience even more pleasant. It's the kind of place that invites you to linger a little longer, chatting and enjoying every moment. However, the service left something to be desired. We waited for about 20 minutes at the entrance, even though there were several tables available and the restaurant was far from full. With small children, this kind of unexcused wait ends up compromising part of the experience. The staff was polite but seemed a bit disorganized at first. Despite this, I would return for the excellent food and the pleasant atmosphere. I hope they improve their customer service.

We popped in here for dinner at short notice. We were able to get a table without any problems, and the service was courteous. Unfortunately, the pizza was too crispy, almost like crispbread.

The food is good, the pizzas are famously huge and you can easily take some leftovers home with you. There is also a nice selection of drinks and homemade sodas. Unfortunately, on our last lunch visit, the service was very slow, our table (we had reserved!) was only served after about 40 minutes despite asking, and it was almost 1.5 hours before all the food and drinks were on the table... with a stricter employer that would certainly have been a problem.

We simply have to recommend this place 👍🏼, we were there for the first time yesterday and despite the queue (2 people & no reservation) there was a nice table for us☺️ Not only were we there live when the pizzas were being made and we had a clear view of the kitchen...we were also impressed by the large number of service employees who really gave everything✊🏼- to be there for every guest. When a thunderstorm forced the guests from the outside area to move inside and they all had to be accommodated, we kept an overview and kept an eye on every customer👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The team basically has “the store” under control🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🫶🏽 The food was very tasty (pasta with beef 🤌🏻 and pizza🍕), the drinks were as they should be and the atmosphere was Italian lively🥰 Keep it up and see you soon🤗

We were here today quite spontaneously. A nice waitress (Klara) welcomed and served us very friendly right from the start. You could tell that she really enjoys her job and is very professional. I was at L’Osteria yesterday and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was super pleasant – lively, but still cozy. I particularly liked the open kitchen, where you can watch everything being freshly prepared - it really whets your appetite. Huge praise goes to the entire service team - everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive and warm. We were served by Clara and felt very well taken care of by her. Despite the full house, she was super organized and always with a smile. As a little extra, we even got a coffee on the house at the end - a really nice gesture that rounded off the evening perfectly. Many thanks to the whole team – we will definitely be back!

The waiters were extremely foresighted and attentive, they had reserved or given us a particularly nice seat by the window despite it being a busy evening, but always got a nice one with a short wait Room for one. They are consistently very guest-oriented and do their job very conscientiously

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was anything but pleasant. The waitress Clara was extremely unprofessional and made us feel unwanted throughout our entire stay. Instead of concentrating on her tasks and serving us, the employee stood at the bar chatting with her friends for 15 minutes without taking our order. Unfortunately, such behavior is not acceptable and greatly marred our experience. We will not visit this restaurant again due to this bad experience.

We ate pizzas of different flavors, the dough is not Neapolitan, otherwise it tastes good. The pizza with arugula was the best for us...

The pizza is great and came quickly, but there weren't that many customers at lunchtime. However, despite repeated requests, we had to wait 30 minutes until we could pay?!? The service was bad with two waitresses who apparently cared more about all of the guests than we did. Three stars because of the really great size of the pizzas. Unfortunately it got pretty expensive, my pizza cost over 16 euros, even though I had a caprese pizza, i.e. with mozzarella and 3 small cherry tomatoes. EinIch Vegan Pizza is unfortunately also very expensive because you pay the normal price + €3 surcharge for the pizza melt. So you quickly end up with 19€ for a pizza.
