I've been a regular at L'Osteria in Duisburg's inner harbor for years. Normally, I'm very satisfied with the food and service. However, my visit today was a huge disappointment. Despite the restaurant being packed and a wait of almost an hour – which was perfectly acceptable to me – the problems started with the pizza itself. I had ordered half a Margherita and half a BBQ Chicken. While eating, I first noticed a bone in the topping, which, while unappetizing, wasn't a big deal for me personally. Shortly afterward, however, I bit into a piece of chicken that was clearly still raw. That, in my opinion, was a clear hygiene and health issue. When I later asked to have the remaining half of the pizza packed up, I politely pointed out the two incidents to the waitress – not to get any kind of discount or compensation, but simply because such things should be mentioned. What happened next, however, truly shocked me: I overheard the waitress explaining the situation to the manager—a bald man with glasses—and I clearly heard him say, "He eats half the pizza and then refuses to pay for it." This accusation was completely unfounded, as I had never intended to leave the bill unpaid. I then confronted him directly and made it clear that I'm not the kind of person who tries to get something for a few euros. I simply wanted to point out the kitchen's mistake fairly and objectively. Instead of an apology or any sign of understanding, I was ultimately told I couldn't pay at all. While this may have been well-intentioned, the whole situation felt wrong and disrespectful—especially after the baseless accusation. Unfortunately, this incident completely ruined my entire visit. Mistakes can happen, but how they're handled ultimately determines the overall impression. And today, that impression was simply disappointing.

I've been to many different L'Osteria locations, but the one in Duisburg was definitely one of the better experiences. The location is lovely, the welcome is friendly, and you immediately feel comfortable. I'd especially like to commend the petite blonde waitress who, despite clearly being stressed, was very polite, kind, and attentive. She was helpful, patiently answered our questions (even where the nearest supermarket was), and you could tell she really enjoyed her job. The pizzas were also delicious – exactly what you'd expect from L'Osteria. Overall: highly recommended. You definitely won't go wrong here. 👍

L’Osteria in Duisburg's inner harbor – this was my second time here with my girlfriend, and the second time I felt truly welcome as a guest. From the very first moment, the young staff took excellent care of us throughout the evening. When our food arrived so quickly, the evening was perfect. The pizza and the pasta were incredibly delicious, and now we're looking forward to the panna cotta. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!

My visit to L’Osteria left a very positive impression overall. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the ingredients—it's clear they don't cut corners. The selection of food and drinks is extensive and offers something to suit different tastes (from light salads and classic pasta dishes to hearty specialties). The drinks menu, featuring wines and cocktails, complemented the food perfectly and was served with great taste. The ambiance is very appealing: the interior design is harmonious, the lighting pleasant, and the tables beautifully set—ideal for lingering. The style is modern yet cozy, making you feel right at home. The service was friendly and attentive; the staff seemed professional, orders arrived promptly, and minor questions were answered without any problems. The only real downside, however, was the noise level in the restaurant. I found the noise level borderline acceptable—especially during peak hours, it got very loud, making quiet conversations difficult and often requiring me to raise my voice considerably. This was a shame, because with such good food and service, a quieter environment would significantly enhance the overall experience. Possible improvements would include additional acoustic measures (curtains, carpets, sound-absorbing panels) or a slight adjustment to the seating arrangement to reduce the noise level. Value for money: reasonable. The prices meet my expectations for the quality offered, and the portion sizes are satisfactory. L’Osteria is definitely recommended for special occasions or a relaxed dinner—especially if you choose a table outside of peak hours to avoid the noise. Conclusion: Very good food and drinks, appealing ambiance, and friendly service—but deductions due to the high noise level. If the restaurant improves the acoustics, I would award it five stars without hesitation. As it stands, it's a solid four stars, with the hope of a quieter atmosphere on my next visit.

A very inviting atmosphere at the Innhafen harbor and very friendly service. Thank you, Mia, for the attentive service. It made our time with the delicious pizza even more enjoyable. And so there was still room for dessert, they gave us a box to take away for the leftover slice. Highly recommended.

The food was really very good for the price, but the service was truly awful. The waiters were consistently in a bad mood and ruined the atmosphere, acting as if they were superior to the customers and serving them very arrogantly.
