Mixed impressions The atmosphere was really nice – cozy, clean, and modern. The service was also super friendly and personable, which we immediately noticed. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't that impressive. We had pumpkin soup, pumpkin risotto, and spaghetti pomodoro – everything looked nice, but unfortunately, the taste was rather bland and lacked much flavor. The pizza was pretty good and a good size, which was definitely okay. The price was reasonable, and the food was served hot. Unfortunately, my passion fruit spritz tasted almost like water with a little flavor. Overall, a nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service – but the food definitely could have been better.

The atmosphere at L'Osteria in Amberg is special! I was very surprised when I walked in; it was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, this time I had an untypical L'Osteria experience. The dark Hefeweizen I ordered was first non-alcoholic, then a dark beer in a Hefe glass. Since a dark Hefeweizen is my favorite, that was obviously a mistake. Unfortunately, the pizza couldn't make up for it this time either. The dough and sauce were somewhat bland. The toppings on the pizza were totally untypical, extremely sparse. The ham/mushroom side had hardly any toppings, the 4 cheese side tasted stale, and unfortunately, they skimped on the amount of ingredients here too. I don't know yet if I'll be back.

The culinary offerings live up to what you'd expect from L'Osteria: The food is exceptionally delicious, the portions are generous, and the huge pizzas, in particular, are a true trademark. Anyone who visits here is guaranteed to be full – and the quality is consistently high. The prices are also a strong selling point: They are entirely reasonable and very well proportioned to the size and quality of the food. It's by no means expensive, so you can easily visit more than once without putting too much strain on your wallet. All in all, L’Osteria Amberg is a clear recommendation – both for a relaxed evening with friends and for a cozy meal with the family.

Very tasty food. We ordered pizza, mushroom risotto and pasta carbonara. The portions are large and everything is delicious. There were a lot of people.

A superb ambiance in Amberg's old town, right on the Vils River. The perfect place to start an evening in the city; the market square is a three-minute walk away. Parking is right next door. The food is always delicious, and the staff is super friendly and always accommodating. Highly recommended.

One of the worst pizza around. Very dry dough and flavorless ingredients. If you tried real good pizza from Italy, then you won’t come here. Service is okay. Pizza technique/process needs a serious review.

It takes forever for someone to come. I waited an hour for my food. Perhaps that's understandable, but 7 slices of salami and 8 slices of ham is a total disgrace. I'm not putting up with that shit anymore.

We haven't been there in a long time since we live in Schwandorf. The pizzas and pasta dishes are still great. The salad was also very good! It's worth driving there even from a little further away. You can easily and conveniently reserve online. The service was very friendly, but due to the large number of guests, it wasn't always available right away, but that doesn't detract from the overall experience :-). The ambiance is fantastic: industrial style combined with old wooden counters and other furniture, cozy and modern, and makes you feel at home. I highly recommend L'Osteria if you want good Italian cuisine with a certain something. It's great value for money!

A restaurant in a former cinema... the dining room itself is beautifully designed, but due to its size, it can be a bit noisy at times. The pasta is a bit too "al dente" for my liking. The prices are a bit high for a pizzeria.

We were in Amberg for a day and happened upon this place by chance. We shared just one appetizer between the two of us, which was very good. It could have been a bit more breaded, but it was enough for us. The pizzas at the next table looked very good, and if we're ever in Amberg again, we'll definitely stop by here for pizza. The service was very friendly.

I just ordered again today. After the owner treated me nicely the last time I complained. I ordered four meals for the kids today. The Parmesan cheese was missing three times, and the pasta was about 28 degrees Celsius cold. The service and quality have really left a lot to be desired. No improvement. I don't recommend this store for the price.

The food was otherwise delicious, but the gnocchi with shrimp was very underwhelming for the price of 16 euros.

Unfortunately, the taste of the food has deteriorated, which is a shame…

So for the hefty price of the pasta, the portion was quite small, and it wasn't filling. The taste was okay, but nothing special. What I find a disgrace is that when paying with a card, you have to select how much you want to tip on the machine. This is unacceptable when you pick up the food.

A restaurant that serves beer without a head immediately left a bad impression on me. A beer without a proper head simply seems unappetizing and significantly reduces the enjoyment factor. It shows either a lack of care or a lack of understanding of proper tapping. For me, that's a clear negative point – if the beer isn't served properly, you quickly lose the desire to drink it. A culinary mistake that should definitely be avoided in a good restaurant. The rest was fine. You should know.

We just ordered 5 pizzas. Could it be possible that you ran out of cheese? The pizzas had almost no cheese on them. For the price, you'd expect a bit of cheese, so I deducted two stars. Otherwise, the pizzas were good.

Friendly staff, a very nice outdoor area, and everything inside is reminiscent of the former cinema. Great location. It's one of the few restaurants in Amberg that's open on Mondays. Highly recommended.

It's nicely decorated, the service is satisfactory, but the pizza and pasta are okay at best for the high prices, but nothing more. You can find cheaper and better even in Amberg, I'd say.

Very nice shop. The selection is great. The dishes taste OK, but not worth the price. The Pizza BO (Calzone) was very disappointing. I got a folded pizza margarita with a few ingredients. It was more bread than pizza. I could have gone to a bakery for that. L'Osteria in Regensburg and L'Osteria in Hürth are damn good. This one in Amberg is a flop. It can't compete with Italy in any way. Save yourself the trip.

The food is very tasty, and the pizzas are also very large. The only point deducted is that the toppings on the pizza could have been a bit more.

We recently celebrated my daughter’s birthday at L’Osteria Amberg with a group of over 20 people, and it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating for our large group. The food was delicious, and everyone in our party found something they loved. But the highlight of the evening—and what truly made it unforgettable—was when the entire restaurant joined in to sing Happy Birthday to my daughter. It was such a special moment and brought a huge smile to her face. She felt so celebrated and loved, and we are incredibly grateful to the team at L’Osteria for making that happen. Thank you for helping create a beautiful memory for our family.

The food was good. However, late in the evening all the doors were still open...even though it wasn't warm, but some were sitting outside...then all the doors remained open...which was very cool inside...in April!

Had dinner there again after a long time. Food still tastes very tasty. Service is very good and the ambience is still very nice.

There are definitely great alternatives. Some dishes are ok, like Alio Olio.

My heart bleeds to write such a review. But after today's delivery I really have the feeling that there are savings on toppings, especially when it comes to deliveries. Cheese was almost non-existent on the pizzas today. Consisted of tomato sauce and a few pieces of ham/tuna. Actually outrageous for the price. I know on site that you are a great team (always friendly and helpful) so I'm really sorry.

Very tasty Italian dishes, great pizza, the service is ok (not always on point, but completely ok, so 4 stars) and the ambience is typical L'Osteria, i.e. modern industrial loft style. A bit cramped (every free centimeter is crammed with a table, hence only 4 stars), but quite comfortable during the week.

In the beautiful city center of Amberg you can enjoy the well-known giant pizzas 🙂

A great place for a dinner with family or friends, a romantic dinner or a birthday party. Service at a good level. The food is delicious. Unfortunately there is little space for parking.

I would say that this has become our favorite Italian restaurant. Always friendly staff, quick preparation of the food and no request has been rejected so far. The only downside is that it's sometimes a bit chilly in the restaurant. But then you just put on one more layer 😉. Keep it up 😘

The food was delicious again. Service was terrible. As a young couple, you're not taken seriously and, despite having a reservation on Valentine's Day, you're stuck at a shared table, even though you had a reservation and there were plenty of two-person tables available. The manager wasn't interested either, even though we asked to swap seats. The waiters can't help it; they were super nice, but the manager is unteachable. We've often had negative comments about the service at L'Osteria. We're looking for a new restaurant.

We've never been disappointed by L'Osteria restaurants. It was our first time in Amberg, and we weren't disappointed. To be honest, we were blown away. It looks amazing and it was as delicious as ever. The service is exceptional and very good. Thank you for the lovely evenings and the delicious food!

Cold temperature and drafts in the restaurant. Lasagna was good, but the bottom of the pan was burnt and charred black. No apology or accommodation for this. Too bad...

We wanted to spontaneously go to L’Osteria, but were no longer able to make a reservation online. So we just went there at random - and were lucky because we still found a place even though it was very crowded. The service was okay, but the pizza was really tasty! I had half a Caesar Chicken and half a Tonno, both great. I thought the non-alcoholic Martini cocktail was particularly cool, a great idea and tasted really good too. We'd love to come back!

I've always been very enthusiastic about good pizzas and enjoyed going there and ordering them often, but in the last few months, and especially today, things have slowed down a lot. Ordered two pizzas home. The pizzas were still raw dough and weren't even through a pizza was totally wrong, the side dishes were missing and ice cold. The only good thing was a very nice supplier who also apologized... It's really sad that everything is becoming much more expensive and the quality is also declining... And the dough was also tasteless in this dough. Everything was missing. The pizza maker should first learn how to make dough...

The concept of L 'Osteria, special building and special ambience, has also worked again in Amberg and has been a huge success. As is well known, the eye doesn't just eat on the plate. Let's start with the negative: (Unfortunately I can't deduct half a point) - There is a deduction for the stylish knives, although you can ride them all the way to Moscow, they are definitely not suitable for cutting pizza. At first I thought it was just us, but after watching some people, they didn't feel any better. - The plates could also be a little larger for the pizzas, it is sometimes uncomfortable to cut the pizza, especially with knives. - So dear L 'Osteria get yourself decent knives - Now to the positive: - The monster pizzas (there's no other way to describe the pizzas 😊) have just the right toppings and taste excellent. The base is fluffy, light, crispy and just the right thickness. If you decide to have a pizza for two, I completely understand it, then it's easier to enjoy other delicious things. - The salad dressings, balanced, tasty with just the right amount of spice - Desserts, the homemade creams, tarts and tiramisu, have just the right amount of non-sweetness, but an intense taste of coffee, chocolate, etc. It's worth a try. A big compliment to the service staff, friendly, helpful and always happy to joke. To all those who complain about the staff, you will get it back at some point. Because even if it is a service, it does not mean that the guest has freedom from fools. (unfortunately this is happening more and more lately) A little tip: reserve for the weekend or before public holidays. On weekdays you can usually get a seat even without a reservation.

For me the best pizzas! The price is still right, considering that one pizza is basically two pizzas! 😉 Thin dough, good consistency, just the way we like it. The furnishings in the old cinema have a lot of charm and you feel comfortable. So far we have only had courteous service staff. L'osteria is a must when we come to Amberg and my only criticism is that they don't exist in Weiden! Why not????? We would also have a disused cinema!!😊

We were just there to have a drink. Super friendly service: Carmen!!! Even though it was very full and there was still a whole company there, always there when the glass was empty and there was still time for a few friendly words. It's no problem that we didn't eat anything.

Starters arrived quickly, but there was a long wait for main courses (40 minutes). Unfortunately the main courses didn't come at the same time. Food was lukewarm, drinks were forgotten a few times and not fully restricted (a good bit on balance). The wrong drink was brought twice and the waiting times were very long.

There were eight people there, unfortunately the dishes were brought every 5 minutes, the first one was almost finished eating while the last one was just starting. Our drink orders were forgotten several times and then three people's beers were filled two fingers below the filling line - 0.5 L pay 0.4 L. The wrong drinks were also brought twice (white wine spritzer instead of red wine spritzer and Helles instead of Hefeweizen...)..which was then refilled and replaced after being reported (no apology from the waitress). The waitresses seemed annoyed and weren't particularly friendly. The pasta was only warm and the lasagne was unfortunately very small for the price and very dry, probably never saw a béchamel sauce. As much as we like to eat Italian food, we definitely won't come here again - no recommendation, 0 stars.

Waited 40 minutes for the starters. Bruschetta was partially charred. The potato soup was over salted and left to stand for too long so that a dry skin formed. Main courses arrived after over 1.5 hours and the pasta was lukewarm and also too salty. The pasta was instant noodles that needed 1 to 2 minutes of cooking time. Portion is also far too small for the price. Table receipts were placed on the pizza by the kitchen. A complaint was simply dismissed, but a new pizza was delivered. The side salad didn't come at all. Another drink also took 20 minutes. Spoon for pasta had sharp-edged dents that injured lips. Not surprising when it comes to handling the cutlery. The staff threw it into a cutlery tray after washing up, which could be clearly heard in the dining room. Overall, a disappointing evening for four. The price-performance ratio wasn't right at all. The staff also made a very unfriendly impression on us and made fun of complaints internally that were noticeable to us. There were no paper towels in the toilets at 8:00 p.m. What was positive, however, was that the starters were on the house due to the complaints.

we had dinner today. I ordered a pizza and noticed the chef put the order slip in the middle of the pizza. stain the pizza with the paper. I saw the waiter take the order slip in his hand and serve it to my table. I declined the pizza and explained to him what I had seen and what he had done. I didn't hear a single "I'm sorry" or anything like that. so I'm never coming back.

The pizzas are delicious and very large, also great for delivery! Noodle portions are rather smaller and not for those who are very hungry :)

I visit the Amberger Losteria regularly because I simply love the food! The pasta dishes in particular are a pleasure every time🥰. The room has now become even more beautiful, much more comfortable and inviting. The service is always friendly and takes great care of you, even if you have special requests. The food at L’Osteria is pretty good and similar at all their locations. I was excited to celebrate a holiday party here, but service was pretty bad. It was 2 hour wait once the party started before they served pizza/pasta. Servers asked if I wanted a beer, they never brought it out, then they came back to ask if I wanted something else. I had to ask for a beer again. They also kept turned down the lights to usher people out of the restaurant while we were eating. It just took servers forever to bring food then they wanted everyone to leave. I left disappointed with the experience and still hungry.

Great location on the edge of the pedestrian zone. Small parking garage around the corner if no parking space is available. Great ambience, formerly the old cinema, cozy, great food and incredibly large pizzas. Gladly again. Recommended

Everything was good besides the waiter deciding to tip themselves without telling me. Luckily I found out before leaving and they gave me my money back . Pretty Slimy Update * replying to the comment . This was a few weeks ago . It was the woman with all of the tattoos . When I asked her why she tipped herself without asking She said Americans don’t ever tip and she made a mistake . She accidentally tipped herself the full % . Was a good thing I asked for the recipe.

The pizzas are a little too thin for me. Sometimes I even had holes in the dough that were covered with cheese. Still very tasty.
