L'Osteria in Ulm

Very good Italian restaurant, I'd gladly come again!

Hi, I have a different experience every time. Sometimes I walk in and am served by very friendly staff, and other times the staff is overwhelmed. Sometimes I get my food very quickly, sometimes very late. It's like playing roulette, you never know what's going to happen. The food is the same. Sometimes the pizza is delicious. Sometimes it's quite cold. I'm writing this review while I wait for my food (1 hour).

Honestly, I don't quite understand why the place is always so crowded. I've been there twice. Once, my pizza arrived 45 minutes later than my companion's, even after asking twice. The pizza itself was okay, but nothing special. The last time I went, everything arrived relatively simultaneously, but the pizza was quite bad and dry, more like a salami biscuit than a pizza. The only positive thing I can say is the portion size.

I just ordered food through Lieferando. Three items were missing. The Lieferando driver told me to call the Osteria. The unfriendly bar owner, Mr. Lork, answered the phone and said it wasn't his problem since I'd ordered through Lieferando. The order had already been paid for via PayPal. He told me to call Lieferando and send another driver. Of course, that's impossible; you can't reach anyone. He blamed the driver, claiming he hadn't picked up the order. What a load of rubbish! Thanks a lot!

been here so many times.loved the pizza and pasta. but unfortunately one time there was an asian waitress that quite rude (we already reserved the table for 14 people on new year day, and its not even crowded and she acted not friendly at all and we all didn't understand why she acted that way pasta oglio olio is pretty good (8.5/10) but extra chicken is too dry. better with garnelen, it's perfectly cooked most pizzas are tasty! tiramisu 8.5/10 spaghetti carbonara 8/10 other that one waitress, services are friendly great, athomstphere really good and comfy.

I ordered garlic as an extra. The pizza ended up covered in an excessive amount of garlic oil. It was inedible.

The food was great and there wasn't a long wait. Unfortunately, I have to write this review because the service was extremely unfriendly. We were ignored when we wanted to pay, and then, when it came time to pay, the staff became incredibly annoyed that over 10 people (of course) weren't paying together. I accidentally forgot €1 when paying and was still rummaging through my change when I was loudly criticized. When the service is bad, it makes a huge difference.

The stay was very pleasant and the food was delicious. We only had to wait a little longer at first before we could place our order because no one paid any attention to us. Everything else was great!

I will never visit that restaurant again because of the waitress ESLEM. I have never experienced such rudeness in my life. She was on the verge of physically attacking me if a waiter hadn't intervened. (This happened about a few months ago)

We were a couple in your restaurant today, but unfortunately, the waitress asked us to sit at a different table with four chairs, even though our table also had four chairs. The difference was that she asked us to sit at a table with metal chairs, not on a couch. The waitress was, in my opinion, of Asian descent. Her manner was provocative and racist, and when we told her that the other tables also had four chairs, she left and left us.

We were a large group and had discussed this weeks in advance during the reservation process, specifically requesting a long table (which was available). However, the group was split between two tables. I ordered a ham and cheese pizza. There was only one slice of ham on the pizza, which was too large – the edges were hanging over the edge of the plate onto the unwiped table. The waitresses served the appetizer and main course together, and the espresso was lukewarm, without crema, and without sugar. The waitresses were stressed, and some of them gave us a dismissive, "Oh, what's the point?" look when we asked for our food to be packed up. All in all, this restaurant is not recommended. Even during the reservation process, we got the impression that they didn't care about our business.

Child-friendly, as they immediately brought crayons. The pizza was okay, but I definitely missed having cheese.

Unfortunately, only one star because we ate here this evening and received a completely burnt pizza with hardly any cheese. When we pointed this out to the waiter, he replied after two minutes that they didn't have mozzarella cheese and couldn't do anything about it, even though everyone else who came after us had received decent pizzas. So we asked for a pasta dish. We just slapped it on the table and received it without Parmesan. "Do you need anything else?" he asked when we paid. At the end, the waiter even tried to make us pay for the pizza. We told him we hadn't eaten it, and only then was the charge canceled. When we tried to pay by card, he told us to press one of three buttons to indicate how much we wanted to spend on drinks. Honestly, we didn't feel like staying any longer and ordering dessert. It was a real shame.

Nothing against large pizzas, but the tables are far too small. It's a shame they were out of ham on a Saturday evening at 7:30 pm. This wasn't mentioned until we ordered, not when the menu was brought. This rendered two out of three orders invalid. The women's restroom was also completely out of toilet paper and paper towels.

My wife and I just wanted to order food, but we were put on hold for over 30 minutes during which the waitress repeatedly ignored us and didn't take our drink or food orders. Keep in mind that the restaurant wasn't even half full, and we were so blatantly ignored that we left. Not recommended!

Everything was fine, good pizza, friendly waiter. It was quite crowded and therefore a bit noisy, but that didn't bother us too much.

If I'm in the area, I'd gladly do it again.

Unfortunately, I have nothing but negative things to say about this restaurant. I can't comment on the food, but the service was absolutely terrible! Or rather, the owner was. We went to L'Osteria with two small children after the Christmas market, and it was only half empty. But we had to leave immediately because the owner was annoyed, for whatever reason, and simply said we had no table and nothing was possible without a reservation, which is fine, but the way she said it was awful. We then went on to Barfüssler, and I have to say that even though it was full, they found us a table and we were able to eat in a relaxed atmosphere!! Without a reservation!!!

There were five of us today, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. A large portion, service was just right and not too intrusive. We'd gladly come again ☺️

We received our main course before our drinks and appetizers; it was absolute chaos inside. You could call a waiter three times before he came, and then we sat for about 45 minutes with empty plates because no one thought to clear our plates or ask if we wanted more drinks…

I went to a company Christmas party at El Osteria in Ulm. The restaurant was very busy, which was reflected in the noise level. I had a calzone. They weren't bad, but the dough was still raw and soggy in some places. Otherwise, it was alright.

The food was very good, the service too, but the toilets were very dirty and the noise level was very unpleasant; it was almost impossible to have a conversation.

I went there for lunch with three colleagues. The service was impeccable, attentive, and friendly. The pizzas were delicious, and considering their size, I think the price-performance ratio is excellent. The food arrived very quickly; we only waited about 10 minutes, even though the restaurant was quite busy. We'll definitely be back! 😊

We were there with a relatively large group of people with disabilities. The service (especially from Sebastian) was more than attentive, and the food arrived quickly and was delicious. Highly recommended!

The food was good, but I wouldn't recommend it during the Ulm Christmas market. Even if the staff and kitchen were equipped for a full house, they're competing with delivery services, and it takes an hour for a pizza to arrive. Not a word of apology or even a complimentary treat. In my opinion, the ventilation isn't designed for the kitchen's high volume of customers either.

We waited over 1.25 hours for our food, and then it wasn't complete. So we had to wait another 15 minutes while everyone else ate. Despite asking, they didn't honor the offer of a small dessert for groups of friends who booked online. The pizzas are good, huge, and the staff is helpful. Not everything on the menu was available.

Today we ordered two Fantas, a bottle of water, and three pizzas. One Fanta arrived immediately, but we had to wait five minutes for the second one, and another five minutes for the water. After a 45-minute wait, we asked about the pizzas, and they said, "Oh, sorry, we lost the receipt!" It arrived immediately, and then after another ten minutes, the three pizzas finally arrived. The service was an absolute disaster today. Yes, the place was packed at 5 pm, but we've never experienced such chaos here. It really wasn't a pleasant evening. It's a shame because the pizza is really great, but it will definitely be our last time there for a long time.

We are a group of eight who made a reservation, and we were told we'd be there at 6:30 pm. Then we were sent home because we were told we didn't have a reservation. So I called again, and whoever answered the phone said, "Just come by. We'll find a table." I'm not used to such poor service and organization from L'Osteria.

Hmm… I'd sum it up in one word: Meh! Probably spoiled by Italy, I was shocked by the pizza prices. Yes, they're huge. But the taste is rather average and not worth the high price. We also had orecchiette with Manzo beef. On the one hand, I'd like to know what kind of meat that was. On the other hand, I'd rather not… But it certainly wasn't beef… I've never seen that texture and consistency before, and I had a stomachache all lunch and dinner afterward. Something was definitely wrong. They should probably save the toilets for later. Although, unfortunately, that's the fault of the customers. They're very unpleasant in every respect. The worst part, though, was that it was around 3 p.m. and the place was empty. It was also interesting that if you overpay, they simply collect the change as a tip. I've never seen that before.

Last week we had our Christmas party at L'Osteria. We had reserved for 15 people, but ended up being 24. Even though it was incredibly busy, they did everything they could to make sure we could all sit together at one table. The new manager, who only recently took over, really went the extra mile. The drinks and food arrived almost simultaneously – truly remarkable, and kudos to the kitchen! We ordered pizza, pasta, salads – everything the menu had to offer – and yet we were still able to eat together, and everyone enjoyed their meal! The servers were also very friendly and patient with us, even though the table was quite large. Overall, we are very, very satisfied and delighted that we were able to be guests with such a large group.

Unfortunately, this was the worst pizza I've ever eaten. The atmosphere was uninviting; it was incredibly loud and chaotic with the table arrangements. The staff didn't seem to know what was going on. We were brought the wrong food four times, food that presumably belonged to another table. Sorry, but what a waste of money.

I waited an hour... the service is bad.

If I could, I'd give it 0/5 stars. We had a reservation for 7 pm. We arrived at 6:50 pm and, due to overcrowding, were asked to wait at the bar until a table became available. We waited a total of 40 minutes at the bar, no one approached us, and there were empty tables! When we inquired, we were told, "Others have reservations too." The service was truly a -10/10. We left 50 minutes after making our reservation. No one even noticed.

All in all: Top service, amazing food, and a waiter who truly loves and excels at his job. Thank you, Rocco! 💜 I'll definitely be back and wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Although we had booked for fewer people and the restaurant was full, they still managed to make sure we all had a table. The staff were incredibly friendly, despite the stress. The food was absolutely delicious.

We had dinner tonight with eight people, six of whom ordered pizza. The pizzas were huge and delicious, the only downside was that the table was too small 😅. But that was because of the size of the pizzas 😂. The service was very friendly and attentive.

I was at L'Osteria in Ulm today and I was absolutely delighted! The food was – as you'd expect from L'Osteria – incredibly delicious, with generous portions and everything freshly prepared. I'd especially like to commend our waiter, Sebastian: he was extremely friendly and attentive, and even though the restaurant was packed, he took the time to serve us. Such excellent service is rare these days! Thank you so much for the fantastic service – we'll definitely be back.

We went there for our son's 7th birthday, as he loves pizza. The staff patiently and humorously attended to our chaotic table and were very attentive and friendly! The pizzas are super thin and incredibly delicious. The pasta wasn't a flavor explosion, but still tasty. Overall, highly recommended! :)

I ordered a salmon pizza, but they sent me a salami pizza. I called, but the man on the phone couldn't give me a straight answer. He said he'd speak to his boss and that I should wait. Now I've called again, and they're rejecting my call. Perfect.

Due to the high volume of visitors, we had to wait a very long time to pay, despite asking for help. Unfortunately, to get to the wheelchair-accessible restroom, you first have to walk through the men's restroom, which isn't particularly pleasant for a woman. Otherwise, we had a very nice stay overall and would gladly come back. The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly and attentive.

Over the past few weeks, I've been to L'Osteria in Ulm quite a few times. The staff always seem overwhelmed and disinterested. Their personal conversations appear to be more important than the customers. And you can hear everything because the conversations are unfortunately so loud. I find it a shame, as I really like the concept and the food. I used to work at L'Osteria myself. It's a pity that the Ulm location is being run this way…

It was excellent as always. We were greeted with a wagon wheel-sized pizza, which was, as always, very good. The bar staff were also impressive.

We ate there today and were absolutely delighted. The food was not only fresh and perfectly flavorful, but also beautifully presented. The restaurant's atmosphere is pleasant, modern, yet cozy; you immediately feel at ease. A very special thank you goes to Marie! She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful all evening without being intrusive. You could tell right away that she does her job with a lot of heart. That's exactly what perfect service should be!

I have to say, the ambiance is a bit dated; other branches are more modern. Some tables are too low. But otherwise, the quality is the same as in other branches. Only the food took an unusually long time to arrive; we were there after 2 p.m. The staff was friendly, but the table service and tidying up could be a bit lacking. It's not our top L'Osteria... but it's okay.

A fantastic restaurant! The food was superb – all the pizzas were delicious. The crust was wonderfully thin, and the toppings were excellent. All the staff were consistently very friendly. The young waiter even gave us great advice and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the app. Thank you so much! Making a reservation online was seamless. Everything was perfectly prepared. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the top-notch quality. The option to have different toppings on each half of the pizza is a real plus. The entire concept and atmosphere are very well done. Highly recommended!

Very attentive and friendly service, a consistently appealing and pleasant atmosphere, and quite good food. Unfortunately, there was sometimes too much oil/fat in or on the dishes, and no mobile phone/internet reception or guest Wi-Fi was available!

The restaurant, if you can even call it that, is loud and uncomfortable. The toilets are dirty and the smell is disgusting, which begs the question: what's the kitchen like?! The service was very quick and friendly at first. Unfortunately, we sat in front of our empty plates until we paid. The pizza is known to be large, but unfortunately, the dough isn't particularly tasty; the toppings are okay. A return visit is unlikely.

XXL pizzas, the size of which I've never seen before (kudos for that!). I also really appreciate that you can have different toppings on each half of the pizza. However, taste-wise, I have to say it was way too greasy! My pizza was covered in a layer of oil, and I couldn't finish it completely, otherwise I would have actually felt sick from all the oil. The fat probably came from the cheese, so a little less cheese would be a good solution. The acoustics in the building aren't the best either. The noise level is quite high. You practically had to shout at the person sitting across from you to hear anything. The service and the wait time were fine.

Delicious food, excellent service (today), and on Halloween night! Nice atmosphere. Top-notch!
