Absolutely fantastic. Everything was delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. We parked in the parking garage, entrance on Vogelsangerstrasse. Exit directly opposite Lost Monk.

During Ramadan, we were turned away an hour after arriving, despite having a reservation, even though the food had already taken almost an hour to arrive. We couldn't enjoy it because we were short on time and couldn't have any dessert. Otherwise, the food was very tasty, although you can tell that the size of the sushi has changed. Overall, it's very delicious and a nice halal option.

Unlike other Asian fusion restaurants I know, the food is of rather mediocre quality, and the seating is very cramped. The menu can only be scanned via smartphone. The overall impression is similar to a fast-food restaurant.

Food and service were great, the ventilation was really strong at two tables, but then again, if you sit close to the kitchen you can smell the food afterwards :)

Unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly good either; both the taste and the quality were rather disappointing. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a pleasant evening, but we were disappointed by both the service and the food.

Incredible experience. There were 7 of us and we couldn't finish our meals because they were so generous!! The prices are affordable. Meal + sushi + drink cost me €25. I give it a 10/10 even though I'm honestly very picky.

The sushi is very good. However, I would describe the place as the OPPOSITE of the definition “the customer comes first”. They closed the kitchen 45 mins after the start of our reservation without even notify us. One of the orders arrived after they said the kitchen was closed, very in delay.

The food and service were excellent. The service was divided into roles. One person takes the order, another brings the drinks, and another brings the food. I'm not a fan of that, but it's better than ordering on a screen. The atmosphere was a bit disappointing because the air conditioning was too strong, and when asked, it was explained that it was centrally controlled and could only be turned off. Therefore, bring something to cover your head with. (Depending on your seat)

Anyone who says or writes anything bad about this place is LYING. Everything's true... I was there again yesterday. Wow. One thing deserves special praise at this point... the ladies in the service... The way they treat children is simply incredible. I really enjoy eating there.

The food (noodles and rice) is really tasty, but unfortunately a bit too greasy. Still, 5 stars if you consider the rest (starter and sushi) - it's not a fitness restaurant, and it would be unfair to rate it by that standard. I personally really liked the sushi, and my wife did too. What I don't think is so cool is that, like in the US, tips are now generally pre-set on the bill, and you have to actively adjust it. Coming by twice; 1. bringing a drink and 2. bringing food, then cashing out and demanding a tip, I always find extremely cheeky. In the US, that's still acceptable because a) the waiters are extremely animated and almost psychopathically friendly, and b) they earn well under $10 an hour. But I don't think it's cool to pre-set that on your own initiative.

My girlfriend and I have eaten at Lost Monk several times now. The food is absolutely delicious, both the sushi and the fried noodles with baked chicken. It's one of our favorite restaurants.

Stopped by last Thursday for a mix of Asian dishes and sushi. Overall, the sushi was the highlight – fresh and nicely prepared, definitely better than the other items on the menu. Unfortunately, the chicken in sweet-and-sour sauce was disappointing. It looked better than it tasted. It didn’t taste freshly made unfortunately, and came across as reheated, and had a strong smell that put me off. If you’re going, I’d recommend sticking with the sushi – it’s solid. Other dishes could use some improvement in freshness and quality including the miso soup which was also very watery.

My first visit was more than pleasantly surprised. Both the food and the service were simply top-notch. The most delicious sushi I've ever had in Germany. The main course would have even been enough for two people.

Please adjust your images on Uber Eats so it's clear when chicken isn't included. This way, you can avoid misleading customers.

We've been coming to Lost Monk regularly for over five years and always enjoyed the "Sushi for Two" for €42. It used to be a great combination of sashimi, nigiri, and fresh sushi rolls – balanced, light, and high-quality. Unfortunately, the menu has deteriorated significantly: the sashimi has been completely removed, and there are now only two nigiri and a small maki roll. Instead, three fried rolls with a lot of mayonnaise have been added. For us, this is a clear step backward, as the fresh, raw fish was the highlight. It's a shame that the change came at the expense of quality – we're considering whether to continue coming.

Helal Sushi in Cologne!! It was my first time there, and it truly exceeded my expectations! Because the place is so delicious and well-known, you might experience a longer wait of around 10 minutes, but it's absolutely worth it. Everything was very fresh and therefore incredibly delicious! Another big plus is the beautiful presentation of the sushi. The decor of the shop, while simple, was very modern, both inside and out. Even though we ordered the sushi to go, everything was delicious and still fresh upon arrival. The staff was friendly and helpful. So, for anyone who enjoys sushi, this is an absolute recommendation.

I thought the food was halal, which was very good. The taste wasn't really my thing, but everyone should try it for themselves. The service took too long, and even after pointing it out, the answer was, "You're not my customers, someone else has to come." I didn't think it was very good. It's unnecessary to pay directly and add a 10% tip like in Italy or something.

Great food, the baked sushi is excellent, the best in Cologne, and my absolute favorite is the kimchi and Thai curry chicken with peanuts.

I went to Lostmonk Sushi in Cologne today and ordered dishes 250, 101, 170, and 256, as well as udon noodles. Overall, the food was very tasty and fresh. I had expected the fried sushi to be a bit larger, but the taste was still good. I would especially like to highlight the very attentive and friendly staff, who made the visit a pleasant one. One tip: don't forget to make a reservation, as it fills up quickly. I would definitely go back.

Unfortunately, disappointing – we won't be back!!! We were long-time regulars at Lostmonk and always appreciated the food. Since the reopening, the quality has been consistently good, no matter when we ordered or ate. But unfortunately, that has changed significantly over the last few visits. A few weeks ago, I ordered the "Lostmonk" dish, which visually looked more like a soup – the sauce was extremely runny and the dish was significantly spicier than usual. It's labeled "slightly spicy" on the menu, but this time it was barely edible. I still wanted to give the restaurant another chance and didn't write a review – until today. Today, I ordered "Lostmonk" again. The meat was slimy, had an unpleasant aftertaste, the spiciness was even more extreme than last time, and the sauce this time was thick and lumpy – probably due to too much cornstarch. The taste was truly disappointing. What made the visit even more unpleasant: Three employees were sitting directly in front of our table, smoking one cigarette after another, laughing loudly, and having private conversations that we could hear in full. The manager was present, but mostly stayed inside. The service was correspondingly inattentive and unprofessional. With a bill of €96, we expect not only good food, but also a pleasant stay – unfortunately, neither of these was the case. The recently increased prices are also no longer commensurate with the quality offered. It's a shame – we really enjoyed our stay here, but after this experience, we won't be returning.

With a menu like this, you can't aim for perfection, but the concept is still very well executed. Many wouldn't be able to maintain this level of quality. The taste is quite good.

The food was very good, but we were very dissatisfied with the service. From forgetting a drink, being irritated after repeated questions, barking at colleagues, to problems with the bill (the wrong table was billed, and we had to wait quite a long time), we had everything. I think this somewhat spoils the dining experience, which really shouldn't happen. Therefore, I would only recommend it to those who want delicious food and don't have high expectations of service.

Tastes good, but the sushi portions and rolls are too small. Even with a reservation, you have to wait. The chicken rice bowl is too dry, so I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, it's okay.

It was very loud (outside), the tables are simply too close together. You hear everything from the next door. Despite having a reservation, we weren't shown to a table, but were simply asked to sit at a single table. It was so close to the umbrella that it was impossible to sit at the table without pushing the other chair and table away. The reservation management is poorly coordinated. People were moved later, arguments ensued, some managed to push ahead, and there was a constant back and forth. Eating in a relaxed manner was impossible, and the coordination was noticeably poor. The food arrived in a good time, but the sushi was unfortunately not great. The nori on the maki was almost impossible to bite into, rather rubbery. The waitress who took our order was very friendly and also knew the menu. Each employee seems to have only one job. The lady who brought the drinks unfortunately didn't know what she had on her tray and what should be brought to our table. The peanut curry was okay, but unfortunately, as a vegetable, it had far too much onion. Both the soup and the duck were supposed to be spicy, but not a hint of spiciness. Unfortunately, we also didn't find the sushi selection to be as premium as the menu advertised. Therefore, three stars overall.

The place was very crowded. The food was relatively ordinary. There were a lot of southern Europeans in the place. The atmosphere was very loud. Two people could hardly hear each other. It was full of young people having heated discussions. The service was okay. I wouldn't go back for the food. I had noodles with duck. The portions were sufficient, but there were no side dishes.

I had the udon noodles and sushi. The sushi tasted okay—the rice was very tightly packed and not as fluffy as it should be. The udon noodles were delicious—and the price was very good—the portion was very large. I wasn't expecting it to be that large. My colleagues, however, all had curry and were very impressed. We just ate at the restaurant (Wednesday evening) and I left very disappointed. We waited over 45 minutes for our food, even though it wasn't that busy. A table sat down after us and ordered after us and their food arrived before ours. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she looked and the food actually arrived cold; the waitress didn't even react. When we wanted to pay, we of course had to wait ages for payment, so we went to the front. We pointed out to the blonde waitress how dissatisfied we were, and all she said was "hmm, okay." I had at least expected an apology or compensation, but nothing came. I've been there many times, but the bad service spoils your appetite. Never again!!!

As always, the food is delicious, with a good selection of options. The staff are polite and friendly. The owner is friendly and attentive, always striving to provide his customers with the best possible service. We feel at home and eat there often.

Travelling from the UK and was looking for an Asian halal dining experience here in Cologne, Germany and found this on TikTok. Honestly the best place I’ve tried during my entire stay. The last time I was here, a waitress named Mehtap was working; she was the best waitress I've had in a long time. Super friendly and sweet. The food spoke for itself. I can only recommend her!

Unfortunately, I can't understand the positive reviews. This restaurant has a serious deficit when it comes to hygiene. Our server was a young lady. Very tidy and friendly. But most of her colleagues were rather unkempt. Since they kept passing by our table, I had almost lost my appetite before the food arrived. You can also take a look at the sushi kitchen – for my taste, everything there didn't look as clean and tidy. Employees leave the kitchen wearing disposable gloves, carry out the trash with them, and then go back into the kitchen. Then you can leave the gloves alone.

I used to come here quite often, but my last visit was a complete disaster. The waitress brought us the wrong food. It wasn't a big deal, but after the correct food arrived, the meat content was ridiculous. And none of us liked it. The baked sushi I remembered from back then had shrunk by half, but the portion size was the same at 8 pieces. They cut corners on everything here. It was also extremely loud. This will be my last visit, unfortunately.

It's your first day and being a little confused is COMPLETELY fine, I won't say anything about that, and it's perfectly fine to be nervous, confused, and forgetful. However, getting dirty looks from another waitress because you changed your mind during the 20-minute wait for your first drinks and want something else is NOT acceptable. You should feel welcome, right? As expected, our drinks were forgotten, and instead of an apology, we were greeted with: "It won't come any faster." The Coke we ordered as our second drink sat at the bar for 5-7 minutes and was only brought to us after 2-3 waiters walked by (several times). I would highly recommend a seminar or course to better prepare the employees.

The food was actually quite tasty (if a bit too salty), but the service was a disaster. The waitress was hectic, repeatedly pressing us to see if we were finished, even though we were still eating. A drink was forgotten, and when paying there was a rude argument about paying with cash or by card (despite witnesses). I said by card, which was a blatant lie and expected a tip, and the bill was incorrect, even though we had to pay extra, which we noticed otherwise it would have been negative. That makes you feel unwelcome as a guest – very disappointing. I'd think about changing jobs, perhaps!

We ordered satay duck and pad thai with tofu. The satay duck was very tasty. The pad thai was also good. However, I've had tastier pad thai. The portions are also very generous. You'll definitely be full, which is a plus. The service was friendly.

Unfortunately, we were more than disappointed. The quality has declined dramatically over the past three years. We ordered appetizers and main courses. Everything came together, even though we had specifically ordered them separately. The edamame were brown and soft instead of green and crunchy. The bowl was beyond ridiculous: small, with few toppings, tasteless, and incredibly expensive. The chicken came with less than four slices of carrots and zucchini (we don't consider that a vegetable side dish), and the spring rolls were simply tasteless. We paid €60 in total, which is simply unjustifiable given the quality. It's a shame, the Lost Monk started out outstandingly well a few years ago and has since declined considerably. The service was very friendly and wanted to pass on some criticism. Let's hope that something will change.

The prices should be adjusted. 21 euros for a plate with sauce and a small drink is pretty steep, plus a tip. You can get a kebab plate for that price.

Yummi! The service (the waiter with glasses) was super friendly, relaxed, and service-oriented, but not pushy. The ambiance is more of a classic, modern-inspired restaurant—although, in my opinion, it has nothing to do with a Japanese style. The interior is spacious and well-divided, so it doesn't get too loud and you can have a good conversation. Now for the food: A very unusual, large, and extremely delicious selection! My only minor criticisms: The cocktail sauce was surprisingly spicy, the sake nigiri was a bit warm, and the chopsticks were disposable wooden ones. The price is mid-range—but the exceptional sushi variations justify the price. The classics are available at a normal, reasonable price. Overall, it was a great visit—I'd love to come back!

Really. Not "deliciously generous," but "how did that even get into my mouth?" I was briefly afraid it would bite back. The value for money? Let's put it this way: I've rarely paid so much money to have so little appetite afterward. The only really sharp part of my visit was the pain in my wallet. The service was at least friendly—perhaps out of pity? I felt like even the waiters were telling me, "Run... while you still can." Conclusion: If you want to annoy someone, give them a voucher for this establishment. Otherwise, give them a sandwich and a silent prayer.

Actually quite nice, but way too expensive. If you only get one shrimp in your plate with shrimp soup, I also ordered Chinese noodles with shrimp, and again only two shrimp. It's a bit rude. Plus, the place advertises halal meat but also sells alcohol. So, either/or/both don't work. The place is a bit small, you're practically sitting with everyone. For the money, I would have expected more privacy and better quality food. There are definitely better places.
