The fried makis at Lost Monk are absolutely outstanding! The rest of the sushi is also good. You can sit outside and relax. The service could be a little quicker and more attentive, but overall you get good food and a good experience here.

I would like to describe my experience today in your restaurant in Cologne Ehrenfeld, which disappointed me very much. I was your guest with my 4-month-old daughter. When I asked about a changing facility in the toilet, I was informed that there is no such thing in your restaurant. When I asked whether I could change my child discreetly on the couch using a mat - quickly and hygienically - the waitress simply replied with a mocking “No”. Instead, I was instructed to please change my child's diaper in the DM opposite. These are supposedly your boss's instructions. Apart from the fact that it was raining heavily at the time and our food had just been served, this recommendation is completely inappropriate in my opinion. A DM is closed on Sundays – what advice would you give a mother then? To the ice cream parlor opposite? It is not my job as a guest to worry that a restaurant does not offer baby changing facilities. Considering that there were several women with children, including a baby, sitting at the next table, I am sure that no one would have taken offense if I had changed my child quickly and discreetly. I have enjoyed visiting you often in the past. But after this experience, I unfortunately have to say: Lost Monk is not a baby-friendly restaurant and I will not be coming to your restaurant in the future. For me, the way young parents were treated and especially the way in which an everyday situation was handled is simply disappointing and unacceptable

The noodles were dry and tasted old somehow, the meat wasn't any better either, totally dry, almost like it was from yesterday. Everything seemed completely carelessly thrown together. On the other hand, two couples were served earlier than us even though we were there earlier. The staff was nice but totally overwhelmed. The smell in the store was also really unpleasant; it smelled like a toilet the whole time, probably because there were many tables right near the toilets. That really spoiled your appetite. The sushi rolls were mini-small, absolutely tasteless and looked like they had been packaged and not freshly made. The store is really overpriced for what you get there. Feels more Instagram hype than real good food. Was my first and last visit. Better go to a local Asian snack bar which is more authentic. This is not a real asian restaurant, a wannabe.

I used to always really enjoy visiting the Lost Monk - both the friendly service and the quality of the food impressed me every time. Unfortunately, I was disappointed during my visit yesterday. The waitress initially seemed friendly, but when she received small special requests such as additional plates and bowls for soy sauce, she became increasingly annoyed. When I asked, we were assured in an annoying tone that they would still come, but we waited in vain. It was only after we had made another employee aware of our concern after 10-15 minutes that the requested plates were finally brought significantly late by the original waitress. Unfortunately, the quality of the food this time also did not meet the usual standard. Where everything once seemed fresh and careful, there was now a clear loss of quality. In addition, the cleanliness of the seats was inadequate. There was still leftover food from the previous guest on my chair and the furniture had numerous old stains. The previously well-kept ambience that I appreciated so much was almost unrecognizable. Overall, the visit was a huge disappointment, especially compared to the consistently positive experiences I've had in the past.

I've been there a few times before and was always satisfied. Unfortunately, Lost Monk has waned a lot. The avocado in the sushi roll was bad and in general the sushi was very greasy and not at all appetizing. A real shame for the money!

I visited Lost Monk a few days ago and unfortunately our visit was a disappointment. We waited 45 minutes for our food - without any apology or explanation. When the food finally came, we were casually informed that a salad we had ordered was not available. My dish was way too salty and barely edible. My friend's salad was covered in black spots, as if it hadn't been washed. When we asked, they claimed it was from the shrimp - but they weren't even fried, which made this explanation less than credible. My other friend's Pad Thai was visually horrible, overloaded with sauce, soggy and gooey. Unfortunately, it tasted exactly the same. We sent back both the salad and the Pad Thai. We will never visit this store again.

We ate at this restaurant after our civil wedding and couldn't have imagined a better place for this special day! The service was simply great, super friendly, attentive and totally warm. The recommendations from one employee in particular were top, she gave us perfect advice and her suggestions were exactly to our taste. The food was not only beautifully prepared, but also really tasty! Fresh, made with love and simply to enjoy. There was a small misunderstanding when ordering, but it was sorted out immediately in a friendly and uncomplicated manner. They really listened to us and showed how important customer satisfaction is here, and we really appreciate it! Another point that is often forgotten, but was very positive for us: the toilets! Really clean, modern and it just smelled pleasant. You really can't find something like that everywhere! Please write reviews, people this restaurant really deserves it! From the atmosphere to the service, everything was just right. Clear five stars from us, we will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone who appreciates good food and great service!

We became aware of the restaurant through social media. We hadn't reserved a table (we were there on Tuesday evening around 6:30 p.m.) and waited about 20 minutes for a table, which was completely fine. We had our drinks relatively quickly, but the starter came after the main course, for which we also had to wait a relatively long time. This was probably because we ordered sushi, which was ready earlier than the edamame, which was prepared in a separate kitchen. The service was very friendly and good. However, the air was very stuffy, but it improved towards the end of our visit when some people left the restaurant and it was ventilated. But it was also very loud. The sushi was ok, but nothing special and at least my portion was prepared without any special features. Next time I would probably go for a curry or fried noodles.

We were here for the second time. We sat down at 6:15 p.m. and about a minute later a couple sat down at the next table. The waiter first went to the two of them to place their order, but that wasn't a problem for us since we were still looking at the menu anyway. We found it quite surprising that the table next door not only received its drinks but also its food and had already eaten half of it before we received our drinks (lima and bottled beer). If you get attention from the service staff, everything is okay, if not, you're really out of luck here. That's a total shame, because there are usually ten service staff walking through the store. Nevertheless, we sat afterwards for almost 30 minutes with empty plates and drinks and then preferred to pay rather than wait any longer for anything. It is also very loud and noisy. Personally, I worked too much with mayo and sauces for the taste. The ambience is not nice. The furnishings also have clear signs of wear and the restaurant wasn't clean if you look closely. The service was bad. Long waiting times and no information about the products. Very young clientele - maybe you just shouldn't go there if you're over 30.

The food at Lost Monk in Ehrenfeld is really delicious - that's why I often order via Uber Eats. Unfortunately, the bad experiences are increasing: long waiting times, incomplete delivery, and most recently my food was simply left on the street by the Uber Eats courier. When I called the restaurant, I was insulted twice by a very unfriendly woman on the phone. With a heavy heart I will no longer order there. You are welcome to eat on site – if you can get the food.

The sushi was tasty but the individual rolls were noticeably small. The outdoor seating is nice, but you sit very close to the other guests and have the feeling of eating together. Still tasty and a good location :)

The waiters who served us were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was not convincing. Two out of three dishes - the fried udon noodles and the regular fried noodles - were barely edible. The udon noodles were warm in places and cold in places, which strongly suggests that a microwave was used - this impression was confirmed in terms of taste. Unfortunately the crispy chicken was very dry. The Thai curry wasn't convincing either: the rice was hard and the chicken was also dry. At least the sauce tasted okay. The avocado salmon maki was more reminiscent of supermarket quality, and the sake nigiri was of a similarly disappointing standard. The best part of this meal were the drinks from the glass bottles.

Food looked good, but unfortunately it was served cold. I had fried udon noodles with crispy chicken and the chicken was fried for too long so the breading was hard. The food was also unsalted. After visiting Lost Monk a few months ago and really enjoying the food, we visited this place again today. The sushi was also delicious, although a mango sushi dish came with very hard, unripe mango sticks inside. This was problematic because we only wanted the sushi dish we ordered because of the mango. We complained, but the waiter said there wasn't much they could do since we had already tried 4 out of 8 pieces. There were two of us and we thought we'd try two pieces again because they might contain delicious mangoes. The waiter said he would still ask the kitchen if there was anything they could do. He then stopped contacting us at all. Of course we were charged full price for the sushi. Unfortunately it was the last visit, which was a shame.

A good shop that offers delicious Asian cuisine. In general the dishes are good. Each friend had a different dish so everyone could try each one. All dishes were slightly above average. The sushi was really well done, but the nigiri sake (salmon) was really very good. In addition, all dishes are halal, which is a big advantage in my opinion.

I love this restaurant so much, I've been there so many times! The selection is great and everything tastes really good, especially the sushi. I was there on my birthday too, and the service is really top-notch. I'd go back anytime. You should make a reservation on weekends.

Was there for the second time, the first time with a friend and now with my family. Everyone was as excited as I was! The food tastes simply heavenly and you can tell that the vegetables are always fresh. The price-performance ratio is also just great! Also the waitresses. I really have nothing to complain about and look forward to future visits.

I was lost like a monk and ended up in this restaurant. But won't come back. The food was e.g. For example, the seasoning is pretty boring and only tastes like soy/hoisin sauce. The lemonades were far too sweet (preferably store-bought ones) and even the jasmine tea simply tasted “dab.” (How can you go wrong????) And the fact that as a guest you notice how an excited head waiter imperiously tries to bring order to his team does not contribute to the ambience.

Don't understand the hype...waiting over an hour for a meal. (On a weekday at 8 p.m.) Inexperienced waiters. Food doesn't taste good. Extremely greasy and unpleasant smell. Way too loud!!!!

I have very mixed feelings. The first time I was there, everything was great. Curry and udon very tasty. The second time I went there with my girlfriend, we received the starter immediately with the main course (even though we had specifically mentioned it), my food was lukewarm without any vegetables (note to self: don't choose fried noodles) and we were hardly served noticed by the waitress and had to run after her so that we could order drinks. The “Lost Monk” on Venloer Straße is a somewhat inconspicuous restaurant from the outside, but it scores highly with its interior decoration and the friendly service staff. We were there on a Saturday evening, so booking in advance makes a lot of sense. Online reservation on the website is very simple and hassle-free. We ordered the Thai curry with crispy chicken and the wok-fried satay duck with peanut sauce. Both tasted great. We also shared the Spicy Tuna Baked sushi platter, which is served with a portion of 8 pieces and sauces. For those who don't like sushi, the fried version with tuna is a very good choice. The Lost Monk was previously advertised to me as a Helal restaurant in case there are some who would care about that for religious reasons. There is also a good selection of dishes for vegetarians/vegans. Price-performance is on top, highly recommended and definitely worth further visits.

The process was perfect. First came our starters – edamame and spring rolls. Both dishes were fresh, tasty and highly recommended. An absolute highlight are the baked sushi rolls, which we order every time. For me, the best fried sushi I've ever eaten! The service also deserves high praise: it was quick, attentive and very friendly, which made the entire evening even more pleasant. My conclusion: The Lost Monk Restaurant is a real insider tip. Anyone who loves sushi or Asian cuisine should definitely try it. It's definitely worth taking a look for yourself!

I had the crispy chicken sweet sour for around €14 A simple schnitzel with rice and sweet and sour sauce. Overall the experience was OK, but nothing great.

The food was delicious, especially the Crunchy Sushi and Crispy Chicken with Rice, which was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was pleasant except, that the tables were very close to each other. Despite this little thing, I would definitely come back.

I rarely write reviews, but with this store it's a must. The service (Musti) welcomed us with a lot of love and the food was the cherry on the cake. I haven't had such delicious and fresh food in a long time.

Good food but a bit expensive for what you get. Sauces like Sriracha or Samabal Olek should be free on every table, but unfortunately you have to pay for them here.

The starters were delicious, unfortunately the main course (curry with tofu) gave 3 people gastroenteritis. One person vomited on the spot, one person had severe cramps, and another person had problems all night long. Instead of an Asian salad, an iceberg lettuce came without anything. A main course came 15 minutes after the other dishes. The service was very friendly, but we would have liked at least the food to be reimbursed by the person who broke it on site (and only ate 2 spoons of the 15 euro dish). All in all, the evening was unfortunately a disaster.

The presentation of the food was very appealing and aesthetically successful, but unfortunately the taste could not keep up with the appearance. My dish had a strong chicken smell and was also not fully cooked. The makis were also not convincing in terms of taste; the seaweed was unusually thick and difficult to chew. Given the popularity and the high number of visitors to this restaurant, I had higher expectations, which unfortunately were not met. The shop is also very loud, so you can't enjoy the food in peace.

Food was delivered, the driver dropped it, the sauces leaked out, so far ok. Unfortunately the food, pasta with duck and salmon, was not edible. Noodles just weirdly sweet. Duck and salmon extremely dry even if it had been sitting for an hour. Overall, the food was marginal. For over €40 it's a disgrace.

We were at Lost Monk for the second time (3 adults, 3 children). The food was super delicious. Our waitress Nagham was very patient and answered all questions, including special requests, very personable!!! The great thing about Monk is that everyone can find something to eat, whether sushi, udon or Thai, everything is represented and we had everything on the table. We ordered a classic Pad Thai and Udon noodles there. Unfortunately, both dishes tasted like nothing! We think the sauces have been forgotten. I don't think that's possible for such prices. We ordered there for the first time because the store had very good reviews and we were very disappointed. We won't order there again!
