Löffelbar in Düsseldorf

The food was quite overpriced and the portions were too small. I ordered the Asian bowl, and it was only lukewarm. But maybe that's how it was supposed to be... Anyway, it wasn't worth €16 ;) We had to wait a very long time for our order to be taken. The price/performance ratio wasn't really good...

Ordered cheeseburger without tomato. A burger with tomato and no cheese was delivered with a raw patty -> thrown away. The other burger should be a chicken burger. A burger was delivered with chicken breast that was black on the outside and raw on the inside -> thrown away. So we ate two portions of fries for €50. Unfortunately, not the first time that the spoon bar has had raw meat delivered...

The food is very mediocre and the service is absurdly bad: lazy, unfriendly and unmotivated. I can't recommend the spoon bar, I'd rather go to “ab der Fisch” on the other side of the street.

Nice for breakfast or brunch meets with friends and/ or family. Quality of food is good and I can recommend pancakes here - at least that’s what I had and it was really good. Service was good but it was very hectic and bus that day so you could tell they were stressed and were not the friendliest. But overall a good experience. If it is busy some tables are really close to each other so the seating is very crammed.

Great late breakfast! We had a late breakfast at Loeffelbar today with four adults and one child. Despite the busyness, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was simply delicious - tasty and absolutely convincing in terms of price. Overall a great experience, highly recommended!

I was there only for coffe, which was great. 2 stars minus because the do not serve TAP WATER, and one 7.5 dl bottle of water is more than 6 EUR. It is sad that they have to rip off their customers for such a basic thing as water. Edit to reply to owner: I guess you are saying that all the other restaurants that serve tap water and not charge entry (whatever you meant by that) are not paying they staff and not earing money. I am 100% sure that is not true. There so many other places that do not charge their customer basic thing such as water and those are places i will visit instead of yours.

A relatively nice place to try. I was recommended by a friend to try Löffelbar, and the food was ok. Ordered the egg Benedict and a set called Hägar, Hägar was better due to the variety of food in it. Benidit was ok, but cannot rank top 5 at my list. The service lady was nice but maybe too busy and took some time to order. If you come at weekend, better to reserve beforehand since it can get very crowded.

Food & drinks completely fine and delicious. However, the service was a really wild experience. The fact that a waiter and a barmaid (who perhaps shouldn't have 10cm long fingernails, just from a hygiene perspective, then they won't break down) are not enough staff for a full shop on a Friday evening is certainly something they can't help. However, our drinks were constantly and randomly refilled without asking, and one person in our group was continually poured wine, even though we made it very clear at some point that they didn't want to drink alcohol, and the fact that the staff were under stress rubbed off on us (impossible "go ahead" gesture when ordering...). We had to laugh really loudly at times because the whole service was obviously strange and over-the-top and we didn't really feel comfortable. Too bad!

Löffelbar is our favorite lunch spot in Germany. Perfect for breakfast/lunch. The best egg benedicts! Delicious coffee. Last year we visited Düsseldorf and löffelbar and the food was really delicious, nice staff, good atmosphere. This year, this was the same. Also we saw the same lady working there. Prices are also really good. We recommend!

I felt very comfortable. There is nothing wrong with the service and our brunch was very tasty. Price reasonable.

I ordered the halloumi bowl via Lieferarando. Unfortunately the order came without halloumi cheese. I had to add a topping to it. I chose BBQ chicken breast. The topping was definitely not BBQ Sause. The sauce didn't taste good at all.

Left the restaurant independently for the third time without eating or drinking. The service has become incredibly bad in the last few months. The behavior is almost grumpy to snappy, including choppy communication. I am an extremely friendly and polite person, even in difficult situations - diplomacy also runs completely against the wall there. It's a shame, because the spoon bar is no longer recommended.

The food tastes great, no question about it! But the staff gives you the impression of not being welcome and seems very listless. I've been to your restaurant three times and found that the service has zero energy and is unfriendly. It's a shame, you should change that. LG

I haven't been to the spoon bar in a very, very long time, which I remember opened in the late 1990s. I was even more happy about my return. The spoon bar is called that because it offers, among other things, very tasty soups. I had a Harira, a Moroccan soup with lamb that was well seasoned. Each soup is available in a small and a large version, with the large one really filling for 12.90 euros. The atmosphere is rustic and I like looking into the open kitchen. Our waitress was a nice young lady who served us quickly. Especially in summer, the sidewalk in front of the spoon bar is extremely crowded, because then you can sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle on Moltkestrasse and Tußmannstrasse.

The food was good, but nothing earth-shattering. A mini portion of fries costs 4.5 euros extra. That was a bit outrageous and burgers for 18 euros are also excessive. Ice cream from the freezer at the discount store for 3 euros per ball is also a disgrace. Therefore only 3 stars.

I recently went to the spoon bar with my partner on a Saturday evening and had made a reservation in advance. Everything worked out great too. The food was also very tasty! Unfortunately, what upset us a bit was the way the bill was handled. My partner wanted to pay the bill herself as a thank you for the last few times I took over the bill. But it seemed too strange for us to put the bill in my direction from the start. I then gave her the money back at her seat because I found the situation very unpleasant afterwards. I think it's a shame that the spoonbar is so conservative in this respect, even though the entire style is based more on "making new from old". And what is unfortunately really not possible in the catering industry is the lack of enthusiasm for your own work - or in other words, the pure frustration caused by bad professional decisions.

I was there for breakfast today. Baked rolls might still be ok. But baked rolls from the day before? The rolls were rubbery on the outside and dry on the inside. The cheese was very weak in taste. So a breakfast that I would have gotten much better for €1 from the bakery. Huge disappointment. Never again!

Kudos to the fantastic service! The two of us were there on December 23rd. in the spoon bar and are completely thrilled. I was treated warmly and courteously on the phone when I made a reservation at short notice and asked whether dogs were allowed. On site, the employee more than confirmed this impression: she was incredibly friendly, attentive and particularly loving towards my little dog. Despite the hectic Christmas season, she radiated calm and professionalism. Such employees are truly the best showcase for a restaurant. By the way, the goat cheese burger was also really tasty. Thank you for the great service, we will definitely come back!

I love the spoon bar. It's quaintly cozy. The menu is innovative and varied and the chef is very talented. My highlight, in addition to the great service team, is the fact that I can have breakfast until 4 p.m. An absolute dream!!

I ordered via Uber Eats, the food was delicious. Unfortunately, there was a very unpleasant smell of smoke, as the delivery person seemed to be smoking well while driving.

Mediocre breakfast in a nice atmosphere

A good place for a coffee. I find the rest overpriced since the service leaves a lot to be desired. Please ask for a proper bill since the waiter just added everything manually and gave himself a ca..8-10% Tip. We really should have challenged it but somehow didn't. I'm tired of restaurants adding a surcharge on their own on top of the exorbitant pricing!

Seemed a bit sad to me, alternative. Service was more practical and sober instead of warm but friendly. Dogs don't seem to be welcome, mine should be under the table. He is small and prince charming (Ratonero).

We ate here today and unfortunately were anything but satisfied. Even though we specifically asked for the patty to be cooked through, it was served rare. The service also left a lot to be desired. When we asked about paying, we initially received an ironic “no” as an answer. When paying, inappropriate comments followed such as “€70 and no tip”, “It was nice to scrape together the money” and finally a sarcastic “DESpite everything, have a nice day”. Even when we wanted to give a tip, it was refused - obviously it wasn't enough. The atmosphere also seemed uninviting. Customer friendliness? None. We almost wondered if unfriendliness was part of the concept here. We have never been treated so badly.

I asked for a heavy cocktail. They brought me a cocktail which not only not heavy was but they charged extra ( for the extra alcohol). The salad was good . But anyway it is not a place for me to visit again

We were here as a wedding party. Everything was beautifully decorated and the food was delicious. Large portions and good value for money! We will be happy to come back.

Food and drinks are delicious. The staff is friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive. The restaurant is clean and you can sit outside as well as inside.

Very limited vegetarian options. At least when I visited. Maybe the map changes...

Service was first class. The ambience is pleasant. Unfortunately, the food is so-so...my granola was definitely more burnt than roasted and the portion was very small.

The breakfast here was made really well. Lots of taste and flavour. Poached eggs were made just right. I got the Eggs Benedict salmon and friends got the Eggs Benedict avocado - we all had a positive review of the food. The coffee was also fantastic.

Arrogance instead of nice service. Please note before reading my review: the dishes and the products offered are great and of high quality and taste great! Above all, the offer of being able to have breakfast all day is great. That's why we were really happy when we reserved a table for today. Nice atmosphere, always friendly service and delicious food. What more do you want? I would like to briefly explain why we left the restaurant today with a lot of frustration in our stomachs instead of with a smile: After we were brought to the table by a friendly female waiter, we ordered and received our ordered breakfast quite quickly. The food was great as described above. Only the nougat cream was forgotten and had to be reordered. However, when it came time to pay, the visit came to an unpleasant end. After we said the amount we wanted to pay including the tip, the male waiter asked us in a reproachful tone whether we didn't enjoy it? I was surprised because we didn't give any indication in that direction and it quickly became clear that the tip size didn't seem to be high enough. It is and remains the guest's decision whether and, above all, how much tip he or she can and wants to pay. I think it's important to give tips when the service is good, but that's just not possible. Until now, brunch at your place has been an absolute highlight for us on weekends or days off, but since today we will think three times about coming over. But that will probably be manageable, because apparently things are going so well that we don't have to rely on guests who, in the opinion of the male waitress, don't tip enough after they've just spent over €40 on a shared breakfast. It would be great if someone could comment on my assessment and justify such behavior and critically question it.

Overall we were happy with the food and drinks. I would happily give it 5 stars if I had gotten what I ordered. And not some other version of the dish because an ingredient is “not there anymore”. Then you ask the guest beforehand whether you can replace this ingredient with another or whether the guest has a specific request. Simply using something else that changes the overall taste is not necessarily the optimal solution.

After a long time I was in the spoon bar again. I know the location from my student days. But I haven't been there for about 6 or 7 years now. The food was really good. I can't say anything else. I can't say the same about the lava chocolate cake. It was good, but you could do it better before. The bar keeper was super nice. The waitresses were also nice but took some getting used to... Somehow different than I remembered. The ambience is a little old and I didn't remember it being so dusty around the corners and edges. And the tables are a little old... Oh well. Yes, we would come again. But still a point deduction. Because something was missing.

Food great as always, But guys... if nice weather has been announced for a week, then you can't man the service outside with just one person. Having to wait almost an hour for a second drink is simply not possible, and is actually not typical for you. The management of the store needs to make significant improvements

- Food: I had the eggs benedict and yhe chai latte. The chai latte was great but everything in the eggs benedict dish was cold. It looked and tasted like it was cooked long before (which explains why it arrived so fast). The eggs were over cooked, the bacon was also overcooked and dried, and the bread was burnt. - Service: the employees were friendly - Atmosphere: very loud. There was nothing to stop the noise. But the big windows allow for a nice view outside and light coming in. I wouldn't come back for brunch.

I went to the spoon bar for the first time today. I sat outside in beautiful sunshine. The menu is very appealing and it took me a moment to decide 😉. Then we had the sliced ​​turkey in a mushroom cream sauce with rice. Dessert almond brittle ice cream.....delicious😋I'll be happy to come back 🥰

One of my favorite cafes/restaurants in Düsseldorf. Just such a nice atmosphere and when the sun is shining you almost always have sun outside or inside. The service is great and the staff is just super friendly and helpful! I can only recommend it, whether for a delicious breakfast, just a coffee or a glass of wine!

The best brunch in Pempelfort, and the best brunch in all of Düsseldorf in my opinion. Very kind team as well. Highly recommend!

We were here for breakfast. Was tasty and plentiful. We also tried the waffles and found them to be good. We were there on the weekend so it was very busy and you had to wait for a table. Unfortunately, this was in the middle of the stressful entrance area. In general there isn't much space at the tables either. The service was a bit overwhelmed that day.

A neat brunch place that is always packed, so it's best to reserve a table in advance. There are a lot of interesting options in the menu and the atmosphere is really buzzing. People gather for a drink, a bite to eat or birthdays. The staff is really friendly and attentive, but they can lag behind at times, due to so many orders at the same time.

The food is really good. However, the hollandaise sauce was a bit too sour for me and the kitchen was a bit too good with the salmon, but that's complaining at a high level. The spoon bar is one of my favorite places in Düsseldorf for breakfast and an absolute recommendation for anyone looking for an above-average breakfast restaurant.

Great, tasteful restaurant for everyone who likes it authentic and not glossy. I didn't eat anything, there was enough at the company event - but it looked very tasty! The next time I stay in the hotels around the corner, H2 City and Co., easily accessible via the park, that would be my first choice. It's not loud there and perfect for meeting locals and chatting - old, of course, delicious😉

Meine Bewertung bezieht sich lediglich auf die Qualitaet des Kaffees. Die Karte bietet viele verschiedene Formen des Getraenks an, aber im Endeffekt fehlt es an der Schulung des Personals diese wirklich umzusetzen. Den Kaffee haette ich mir sparen koennen. Achja und mit Karte kann man erst ab 10 Euro zahlen. Holt euch mal nen Zahlungsanbieter, der keine flat fee nimmt.

Die Kellnerin war der Knaller. Sie merkte sich die Bestellung von 12 Personen ohne es aufzuschreiben. Die Menge des Essens war jedoch sehr übersichtlich.
