A restaurant like no other. Every time I eat there, I feel completely at ease, and that's largely thanks to the wonderful staff. The food is simply amazing, so special. The atmosphere is so unique; it's like stepping into another world... every single time :-)

Delicious food, good service, but very expensive!

Unfortunately, I haven't been to the "Lodge" for quite some time due to moving, and I've read a lot of negative reviews, but I'm still completely convinced. The meat, the quality, and the cooking time are always perfect. The service is simply outstanding and very attentive. Even though we were seated in the far corner, a bit "off to the side," we received first-class service, and the staff was very attentive. All my doubts were unfounded, and to those price-complainers, I can only say that the quality and service are worth it. The "Lodge" has always been a bit more upscale, not your typical neighborhood pub. And I have to say, after the pandemic and the resulting inflation, pubs have significantly raised their prices and cut back on service and staff, so I find the price increase at the Lodge quite moderate. It's a shame I now live so far away and can't come as often. But please keep up the good work. Thank you.

With a window seat (definitely book one!), you can see giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest. A real taste of South Africa. The food is expensive, but superb. The Chateaubriand, served English style, is my favorite. Service varies from quite good to truly fantastic, depending on the person. Highly recommended.

I come here often and find the food absolutely perfect – the quality and taste are top-notch, but of course, they come at a price. Unfortunately, there is one downside: the noise level is extremely high and really disruptive. It's also often very crowded, so you end up sitting very close to each other. In this price range, I expect a bit more peace and quiet and more space. Very important: making a reservation is definitely recommended!

I'd gladly go back anytime. If you're looking for steak, this is the place to go! But they also have some very tasty alternatives.

The two of us dined there the other evening and each ordered three courses. I have to say, it was the best filet steak I've ever eaten. The side dishes and dessert were also very good. The service was friendly and efficient. My only criticism is that it was too warm and the air quality was poor, even though only about 30% of the tables were occupied. Given the size of the restaurant, a certain level of noise and presumably even worse air quality are to be expected when it's full. Perhaps the ventilation system could be reconsidered!

I treated my parents to a dinner at the lodge for their 30th wedding anniversary. The staff were incredibly friendly from the start, helped me with the arrangements, and did everything they could to make it a wonderful evening for my parents. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive; they were impressed by the attentive and exceptionally friendly service, as well as the quality and taste of the food. Many thanks to the entire team; you gave two lovely people a truly special evening!

After several years, I returned to the lodge for a special evening. A warm welcome. Attentive and friendly service. Starter (tartar), main course (filet mignon, spinach, and onion rings), dessert (strawberries with vanilla ice cream), and the drinks were all excellent. See you again soon 👍🙏🙋🏻‍♂️

Absolutely terrible service. The waiter was rude, unfriendly, and abrupt. And that, despite the fact that it was a Sunday evening, it was barely busy. Flavorless spinach, over-fried rösti, and a herb coating that tasted of nothing. And all that for €200 for two people. Unfortunately, that was the last time.

BOOOOM: A Hidden Gem at the Opel-Zoo – The Lodge What a fantastic experience! The Lodge offers not only a stunning view over the Opel-Zoo — where you can spot giraffes and zebras while you eat — but also some of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The meat quality is absolutely top-notch and definitely worth the price. The atmosphere feels cozy yet elegant, like a real safari lodge. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the very first moment. On top of that, they have a great selection of wines that perfectly complement the dishes. All in all, a place I’d highly recommend to anyone who enjoys great food in a unique setting.

FILLET STEAK ROLL TO GO 👌🏻 A well-deserved thank you after a visit to the zoo. A steak grilled to your liking in a simple roll at a fair price. Highly recommended. It's quick and of Lodge-standard quality. In my opinion, even with top-notch ketchup. It's brilliant that the Lodge recently started offering this to walk-in customers.

The food is generally good, but for the prices advertised, there's definitely room for improvement – ​​both in terms of quality and service. The location, with a view of the zoo, is very nice, but it can quickly get very noisy inside when there are lots of people. It's hard to hear the person sitting opposite you or the wait staff.

I don't need to go again! Overall, the price/performance ratio isn't right for me. Sure, the ambiance is nice and the view of the deer is unique, but unfortunately, the meat tasted bland, not like you'd expect from other high-priced steakhouses. The service also gives a mixed overall impression; some seem well-trained and others less so. The dessert wasn't cheap at €14.90, but it was really good!

The food was good. Unfortunately there was a birthday party in the room next door and the serving staff were focused on that. For a restaurant of this stature, the service was poor.

I am extremely disappointed. We have been coming to the Lodge for many years and have found both the service and the food to be excellent. Unfortunately, our entire table was unlucky this time: the steaks we ordered medium arrived almost raw, and the food didn't come together. One of the complained steaks was taken back (while the side dishes were getting cold) and a new one was brought out – again too raw. The third time we complained, they simply recooked it; it was overcooked and served carelessly. The service was inattentive (a missing steak sauce only arrived after we asked twice; for a side dish, it was a reminder from us); we had to pour more ourselves. The dessert, which we were offered as compensation, arrived incorrectly and not as ordered. What was going on??? And this at a birthday party. In the end, we only had to pay for the drinks, but the wonderful culinary experience we had hoped for unfortunately did not occur.

The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, with a lovely terrace that can be enjoyed during pleasant weather. The view overlooks the Open Zoo, which adds a unique and relaxing touch to the atmosphere. Everything is well organized, with no waiting lines at the entrance, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. What stands out is the attention to detail – if you mention that you prefer your meal cooked well-done or medium, it will be prepared exactly as requested. The team clearly cares about both the quality of the food and the satisfaction of their guests. A truly delightful place that I would highly recommend.

The food is unfortunately getting worse and worse. I had a fillet steak that was supposed to be cooked medium. It was cooked much too well and had a thick gray crust. Unfortunately, this was also the case for everyone else at our table. Furthermore, the meat quality wasn't particularly good. The meat was neither tender nor did it have a good flavor. It's a shame for a restaurant that advertises itself as offering particularly good meat dishes. However, the service was abysmal. Some appetizers and side dishes were forgotten, and none of the waiters even asked if everything was ready. The table was only partially cleared after the meal, and the waiters seemed listless and annoyed. I was shocked, however, when I was given an alcoholic Hugo instead of a non-alcoholic Hugo. I'm breastfeeding and had my baby with me, but that didn't seem to impress the waiters either. We paid almost €1,000 for the meal (6 adults and 3 children), and it was unfortunately not worth the money. It's a shame that the lodge can't live up to its previous quality...

Portions big, price big. Totally worth it. Coming from South Africa, the food here is really good. Lamb chops with the sauce and sides were perfect. Everything prepared correctly. Staff were quick and efficient. I'd recommend the cheese cake to finish off!

A truly extraordinary restaurant—views of the African savannah of the Opel Zoo, exceptional service, and excellent food. If you want to go out for a meal and be completely satisfied, then go to the Lodge.

The food was very tasty, but the value for money wasn't there. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The chairs by the window could use replacing, as they haven't been very comfortable for over 14 years. The seating areas are also starting to show their age, but at least they're comfortable.

Great location. If you like good meat, you should stop by. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside, which only adds to the experience. Reservations are a good idea. There are plenty of parking spaces. The entrance is wheelchair accessible... Service was very polite. The wine recommendation was a bit slow. A wine list, or at least a mention of the wine regions, would have been helpful. But no big deal... I could have asked for the wine list...

The fact that people make reservations weeks in advance—who has that much "lead time" these days—is probably more of a wishful thinking. Most of the tables were free, and a large number weren't even set yet. I've never experienced such behavior from waiters in a restaurant before—neither in a snack bar nor in a Michelin-starred restaurant. There were three of us, my husband, me, and a friend as our guest, in the early afternoon. We ordered drinks and dessert, then my friend and I went to the zoo while my husband waited for us in the aforementioned restaurant. When we returned, we ordered more drinks. The arrogant waiter brought them and then snappily said that we had to leave in 15 minutes because the table was reserved. He wisely said this AFTER he had brought the drinks! Most of the tables were empty, and after the said 15 minutes, no guests arrived—we had waited on purpose. I can only describe such behavior—taking guests on a whim because they don't suit him—as discriminatory, derogatory, and tasteless. Anyone who treats guests like this has no manners, has no understanding of service, and should stay home.

Of course, you're paying for the location, so it's pretty expensive. But the service was great and the food was top-notch.

A very nice restaurant right next to the zoo; if you choose the right seat, you can watch the giraffes. The food is delicious and the price is good. I just wish, for the price, that it would have been perfect!

Unfortunately, I have to say that the service at the Lodge in no way lives up to the standards and price level of the establishment. I've experienced several times that the staff was not only unfriendly, but downright disinterested. Friendliness, attentiveness, or even a modicum of guest orientation are nowhere to be found here. Instead, you're served with a harsh tone – if anything. For a restaurant of this category, I expect professional and attentive service, but that's exactly what's sorely lacking here. As a guest, you feel more like an inconvenience than welcome. It's a shame, because the ambiance and cuisine could be quite convincing – if they weren't always overshadowed by the disappointing service experience. Definitely not the level you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. I therefore can't recommend a visit.

This was our second time eating there. The welcome was very friendly and accommodating. The menu and accompanying hors d'oeuvres were excellent. The house specialty is steaks. For starters, we had halloumi sticks, which are highly recommended. For main courses, we had a steak with Madagascan pepper and a homemade burger. This was also cooked to perfection and still juicy. The steak could have needed an extra 1-2 minutes to reach its peak. It was still very raw in the middle. Apart from that, the view of the enclosure is particularly special. I would gladly come back and can recommend it. However, the prices are also very inflated and, in my opinion, a bit too high.

We were loyal customers of the Lodge for many years, thanks to the location and the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the last time we visited, the food was outrageously expensive. A small filet mignon cost almost €50! That's completely out of all proportion to the quality. Not so!

We were there for a private team socials event. Customer service was topnotch. The ambiance in the restaurant was nice as it was situated near the Opel Zoo, with a balcony and windows that look over where the animals were freely roaming. The animal sightings, I believe, would vary depending on the timing. When we visited, we saw deer (or gazelles?). Wine was good. I wouldn’t write home about the salad :) but I supposed they were freshly picked as they tasted organic. Their meats are probably what I would highly recommend - it’s a generous portion and very filling. Overall, this is a nice treat away from the city and usual restaurant fare, and I’d highly recommend both for big gatherings (on reservation) or small groups.

Unfortunately, the service today was very inattentive, and we had to wait forever for someone to come, even in between. But otherwise, top-notch as always 👍

Price/performance ratio is out of proportion. - The fillet was OK, ordered medium, served medium-well, it can happen. - The Meyer Lansky, definitely prepared and grilled the day before, and grilled again today, very dry and completely cooked, with the typical, slightly musty taste of previously grilled meat. - The burger for my son was completely raw inside. Unfortunately, I noticed it too late because my son hadn't said anything. Service was excellent. Does its job, but nothing more... And then, at the end, an "interim bill" as a bill. Anyone who knows the restaurant industry knows why! Great atmosphere, but if you want to eat good meat, this is definitely the wrong place.

A very nice lodge with a view of the zoo. Here, you sit at a slightly elevated position and can see the zoo entrance into the front enclosures. The ambiance is harmonious and creates an authentic atmosphere, especially in summer. The food is high-quality and very good, but due to the price, it's more suitable for special occasions (and not the typical "after-zoo-visit dining with kids" experience). Reservations are also recommended, especially on weekends. Both the steaks and burgers are recommended.

On one of the hottest days of the year, the restaurant and terrace were very busy. It took a long time for someone to attend to us and bring us to our reserved table. Overall, we had the impression that the service was unmotivated, not particularly competent, and unfamiliar with the menu. While we were still eating, the payment box was placed on the table without a word. Some time later, another server came and asked for payment. The appetizers were reasonably acceptable. The medium-rare steak, however, was clearly medium-rare, and the quality was mediocre. The hamburger patty was dry and overcooked; no one asked for the desired doneness, but nobody wants that. The bun was extremely unimaginative and could have come from a supermarket shelf. Overall, the price-performance ratio was abysmal for us. The best things were the crispy fries and the parking space in front of the restaurant. Now we wonder why we didn't complain. Quite simply, it was a meeting of friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time. The conversations were more important to us than dealing with the restaurant industry. It will be a long time before we see each other again, but then it will be in a different place.

After at least 15 years, I returned to the Lodge Beef Finest at the Opel Zoo. Friendly and competent service, absolutely excellent food, and a good wine list. The terrace is ideal for a nice summer day; it's worth a visit.

The meat was tasty, but honestly, I've had better steaks (e.g., the Patagonia restaurant in Mainz, where the steaks are significantly better). The side dish was practically swimming in vegetable oil—nothing special, then. What really upset me, though, and why I'm writing this review in the first place: I spent €210 there and had half of my uneaten 300g steak and side dish boxed up. When I opened the box at home, six shriveled, oil-soaked pieces of potato stared back at me... utter incompetence on the part of the staff. It's a real shame, because the surroundings and nature were actually beautiful.

The Lodge used to be a highly regarded restaurant – unfortunately, that's no longer the case. The value for money is completely out of the question. The steaks are above average and offer little quality. They were very tough, even at various levels of doneness, and had little flavor. The marbling in the rib-eye was also very stringy – not buttery or flavorful as one would expect. The side dishes, however, were excellent; the mushrooms and spinach are particularly recommended. The steak sauces, on the other hand, are nothing special and taste like they came from a packet. The ambiance is beautiful – especially in summer when you can sit outside and watch the animals at the zoo. The service is generally very friendly, but could be a bit more attentive, for example, with empty wine glasses or by offering desserts after the main course. All in all, the Lodge is a great restaurant to enjoy the ambiance – but unfortunately not to get a high-quality steak at a fair price.

Breathtaking views ... steaks were ok

We had reserved a table at the lodge to celebrate a special birthday. This was also stated when making the reservation. The table was actually very nicely located with a view of the zoo. It would have been nice if the host had taken this into account, perhaps by congratulating us on our birthday or at least offering us a "Happy Birthday" sign, or even offering us a dessert. We've experienced this at other (significantly cheaper) restaurants. But in general, the theme of guest interaction or interaction doesn't seem to be that prominent. After we were shown to our table and while we were still struggling to get onto the high chairs (couldn't they have helped us, or at least offered to help us?), a busboy came over and asked, "Should I get a bottle of water?" We were still busy with the chairs and declined, saying, "Let's take a look at the menu first..." The menu arrived promptly, and after a bit of studying, we were asked what we wanted. Drinks were then ordered simultaneously. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't list any wines, so we had to be told verbally, but the number of wines by the glass is manageable... I would have expected a "Welcome, have you been here before? I'd be happy to explain our meats, show you how, etc." Unfortunately, that didn't happen, nor were the excess water and wine glasses cleared from the table, nor was the candle lit. I'd happily do without the candle, but if there's one there, it should be lit. Or better yet, clear it away! Just like the hundreds of empty wine bottles that line the wall as decoration. It all looks a bit like a 90s pizzeria, incongruous with the "lodge" style and the prices. Now for the food: Very good meat, cooked to perfection. The side dishes were also okay but nothing special. The fries were probably frozen and at an ambitious price. The "Amazon Pepper Filet Mignon" is absolutely delicious, but should have been presented a bit better to make the steak look more appealing. The sauce was completely splattered all over the steak, leaving it looking like a brown mess. Why not serve it next to it and the first sauce in a gravy boat? One bright spot in the service were the young girls who served the food and cleared the plates; they had smiles on their faces and were friendly. The food was very good, but please provide "hospitality" that matches the price. The waiters could work just as well in a pizzeria, aka "Italian." I miss the feeling of being welcome and appreciated as a guest here. Don't get me wrong, no one was unfriendly or even rude, just disinterested and run-of-the-mill. The guests just have to be served, but it wouldn't be bad if they weren't there at all...

What a great place to have real Argentinian meat, the burger was exquisite! Flavory, juicy and soft. Well done for the Team: well coordinated, smiling and being professional. What can we say about the view at the Opel Zoo: eating while Gnus and Zebras stroll in their meadow is truly an experience! Well done!

The meat here is truly some of the best I’ve ever had. We tried several cuts, including the T-bone and filet mignon, and each was exceptionally fresh, flavourful, and cooked perfectly to our preference. The sides were also delicious and complemented the meal. The atmosphere is stunning, with an elegant indoor-outdoor feel thanks to the large open windows, offering lovely views of the surrounding greenery and the nearby zoo overlooking Frankfurt. The staff were warm, attentive, and made the experience even more enjoyable. 5 stars for every category!

Did we have a bad day, or how can I explain all the good reviews? The service was unmotivated and inattentive, the food absolutely mediocre. The meat was good, the sides were an insult and outrageously expensive. My burger bun was dry, with almost no sauce, and completely uninspired. The "highlight" were the French fries, which I can cook better in the oven myself. For me, this is an overrated place that I won't be visiting again.

First-class and attentive service that immediately makes you feel like you're being treated like royalty. The seating is deliberately elevated so you can enjoy the fantastic view of the zoo, which is truly special. Start with a delicious aperitif, followed by the main course with an absolutely delicious steak and excellent side dishes. As a woman, opting for the Girls Cut was a good decision. The ice cream for dessert is also highly recommended. It's simply special here, and a visit is definitely worth it.

What an experience!!! (POSITIVE!!!) Such a welcomed surprise after just arriving and didn’t even. Of course we ordered the 500g Filet Mignon - and it was PERFECT! (medium well). Yes, the sides do cost extra - but the are really good (and ‘German-sized’ portions). We’ll definitely be back SOON

For many years, the Lodge was one of our best addresses for exceptionally good meat with top-notch service in a spectacular setting. It's exceptional today too – just with a different twist. The service is a disaster. The staff seems untrained and arrogant. The absolute worst thing was the completely filthy and clogged restrooms. Unbelievable!

A great restaurant right next to the zoo. We arrived quite late, so the big animals were already inside. But we were able to watch the antelopes. The seating is very comfortable. The food was fantastic. We had the steak and it was divine. Why it only got 4 stars? It's quite expensive. The quality is commensurate, but you should be aware of that. The menu is also very meat-heavy.

And every time it is confirmed to me again and again: it is a very special place. Ambiance: As soon as you enter you can feel the stylish, yet inviting atmosphere. The interior is designed with great attention to detail - modern, but not cool; elegant but not overloaded. Dimmed lights, warm colors and tasteful decoration create an ambience that is perfect for an unforgettable evening. Whether as a couple, in a small group or as a festive group – you immediately feel at home. Service: The staff is consistently friendly and mostly very attentive. The welcome is warm and you can tell that real hospitality is practiced here. Drink recommendations and menu explanations are competent and unobtrusive. Special requests are also gladly taken into account – always with a smile. Eat: Here food becomes art. Each dish is not only a highlight in terms of taste, but also visually a real work of art - pure food porn! The flavors are finely balanced, the ingredients are fresh and of the best quality. I find the creativity in the combination of classic and modern elements particularly impressive. No matter whether it's a starter, main course or dessert - every time I am amazed by the sophistication and love that goes into every plate. Conclusion: For me, the lodge is a permanent address for special moments. Anyone looking for an atmospheric ambience, first-class service and exceptionally good food is guaranteed to find what they are looking for here. I'm already looking forward to my next visit - because everything is just right here.

The three of us each had a filet mignon. Unfortunately the quality of the three steaks was no longer what it used to be. When we asked service about it, they said the steaks hadn't had enough time to "breathe".

The restaurant is very nice and overlooks the animals in the zoo. I find it strange to have a steak restaurant so close to the Zoo . But apparently, it works in Germany. Great place for family to gather and dine ; but highly recommend reservations.

never again. A restaurant that calls itself a steakhouse should know how to prepare meat and at these prices the service should also be perfect. Two out of seven people had their food returned because the meat was a disaster both in terms of taste and quality. Three of us ordered medium, but more than medium rare arrived. Unfortunately the burger was like meatloaf and had nothing to do with a burger. When we pointed it out nicely, the waiter noticed that he didn't like it at all. A super nice waitress then tried to mediate and clarified everything with us very nicely. When they billed us, the waiter came to us again and had the unprofessionalism to ask us: "Why am I not allowed to collect?" We were all confused because we had said that - but then we explained it to him and it was obvious how little interest he had in our complaint. And even at the beginning we weren't really greeted with friends at the door after we asked if we could make our reservation a little earlier - it was loudly conveyed that it was really early, but oh well (the shop was almost empty) All in all, 7 people are really unhappy and dissatisfied with this store and after reading the reviews here, we should have done it instead. Many people go in exactly this direction. We really hope that we don't get another one of those excuse texts from the lodge but that they really rethink their concept and their quality because that's really a cheeky thing for anyone who might be trying hard to save up or is looking forward to good food.

We actually eat at the lodge quite regularly and I rarely write reviews but this time I have to say something. Normally the lodge is characterized by very good service and incredibly good quality of meat. The latter was perfect this time too. However, the service yesterday was really subpar. I've never experienced anything like that before. Well, it was very crowded and there was probably a large party in the back area. However, we had the feeling that our waiter served us rather neglectfully. It took an hour for the food to arrive. We were the only table where the candle was not lit. Water wasn't poured, wrong aperitif. Ok, anything can happen, but I just expect something different given the otherwise high standards and corresponding prices. What was positive was that the waiter brought water for the dog without being asked. We were happy about that. When paying, the situation was that we almost had to get up so that we could be noticed and order the bill. It probably took 15 minutes before we could even order the bill. Overall, my friend, whose birthday present this was, said it was the best steak she had ever eaten. That's saying something. But unfortunately the service was visibly overwhelmed yesterday. It's a shame, unfortunately it wasn't all that smooth. We will still come back because we simply love the lodge.

The steaks, side dishes and starters were really on point and very tasty. The service was on point and very friendly. In addition, the view of the zoo makes it special.

Unfortunately the price performance is not right here! The service was friendly and distant, there was a lack of empathy towards the guests. The food is excellent, the quality of the meat is perfect. However, in a steakhouse of this type you are not able to prepare the meat the way the guest wants. We ordered one medium and one medium well. Unfortunately, neither was done to the desired degree of doneness. When we asked the waiter, we were told, "It's because the grill is so hot on the outside. The meat in the middle is as desired." We were offered to have the meat re-prepared. However, I expect from a steakhouse of this type that they can prepare the meat perfectly. In addition, we were sitting opposite the kitchen and at times it was so foggy from the kitchen that we had to open the windows when asked, which of course was draughty, but we didn't want to sit in the haze either. After consulting with friends, I learned that problems with the preparation of the meat are not uncommon there. What a shame!

Really very good, I was pleasantly surprised. There are always a lot of people and the atmosphere is really pleasant.

Highly recommended: The lodge with the adjacent zoo impresses with consistently friendly service, a great ambience with a view of the animals and a selection of high-quality wines. The cuisine is creative and offers enjoyment for the more demanding palate - definitely worth a visit!

The service was really top – friendly, attentive and warm. But the food? Completely overpriced for what you get. Normal quality at prices that are absolutely unrealistic. Unfortunately, that doesn't fit together at all.

Delicious food in a nice atmosphere After our visit to the Opel Zoo, we stopped at the lodge in Kronberg – a good decision! The food was really tasty and beautifully presented, the atmosphere was relaxed and appropriate for the day. The service was overall friendly and pleasant, but could have been a little more attentive in some places. Nevertheless, we felt comfortable and enjoyed the visit. A nice place to end the day relaxing – we’d love to come back!

All in all, unfortunately, more show than substance. The evening began with five waiters standing in front of their computers, making us wait at least five minutes because the head waiter was still on the phone. Unfortunately, the cold demeanor of the waiters, especially the arrogant-seeming head waiter, created a feeling of discomfort and unwelcome among us. The truffle fries came with preserved truffles, which you can also find at Aldi. I've never experienced anything like it, even in restaurants with significantly lower prices. The fillet wasn't particularly delicious either. Furthermore, there was no indication that the plate on which the fillet was served had also been in the oven beforehand. This is extremely negligent and unprofessional. So be it. In summary, the place seems more like a tourist magnet for zoo visitors.

Far too expensive for the quality of the food: the piece of meat I was served was too well done on one side and still raw on the other. You can then put together the side dishes separately - which is okay. What's not okay is that they are too large in quantity so that it would be better for two people to share them. The waitress didn't find it necessary to point out to us that, with our group of eight people, we were practically ordering the amount of food that would have fed ten people. Orders were then mixed up. Last but not least, you have to compromise on comfort: the restaurant is a hall, the shop is buzzing, and the noise there is correspondingly high.

Great quality of all the food, whether fillet or fries. It was really excellent.

Ate starter and main course. It tasted very tasty.

We were here for a birthday dinner and were really looking forward to the food. As a starter there were variations of tuna. There were three variants. Unfortunately, they were all on the stove for too long - it was the driest tuna I've ever eaten. Since we were starving and had to wait a bit, we ate it. Under normal circumstances this goes back. I recreated it at home last week with tuna from Metro and it was flawless, tender, juicy. Therefore the dry fish goes to the cook. Fucked up. As a main course, the 300g fillet was supposed to make up for everything; my friend at the table had the combination of lamb and beef. Here came the next failure - the piece of meat was as medium as it should be, but the beef tasted terrible in both dishes. It had nothing of a delicious fillet. It was creamy and tasted bad. Didn't eat it. Unfortunately our waitress didn't come to ask if everything was okay. I only reported the matter when it was cleared away and then refused to make any compensation. The evening was over and the group had had enough. They took my fillet off the bill. However, I don't need it anymore. Nice try, too bad.

A little more expensive! But you get very tasty food and good portions. Recommended.

A lot has already been said here! We've already been to Lodge! Never really had anything to complain about! Always top quality meat. Great side dishes too! Fast, attentive service. We had a very nice seat by the window today. But the prices are really high. Paid over 500 euros for 7 people this evening. With dessert and coffee etc. Nevertheless, for us the lodge belongs to the top league in Frankfurt. Highly recommended!

We had breakfast there. The breakfast menu is rather “clear” - I would like to see a little more choice (perhaps also for vegans). We waited a full 40 minutes for our breakfast (2x sweet & easy and a scrambled egg), even though we were the only guests there. BUT: The service was super friendly, the scrambled eggs were delicious and the croissants were very fresh. The ambience is really special and very beautiful and the view is amazing. Who can see zebras, wildebeests and giraffes at breakfast? And if you have time to enjoy it all, the 40 minutes of waiting are quickly forgotten. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back 😊
