Very large, delicious pizzas. Super friendly staff. I'd be happy to go back.

Absolutely delicious food. We had the butcher board for two people, which was really hard to finish (and I'm a big eater). The price was reasonable, as you'd expect for a steakhouse. Our waitress was very friendly and competent. She also asked immediately when we were seated whether we'd like water beforehand. That was a huge plus. However, we had to wait a very long time for drinks, even though it didn't seem to be that busy. The garden was quite full, but there were only 4-5 occupied tables inside. The bottle of water we ordered initially took a little over 15 minutes to arrive. The other drinks we ordered took correspondingly longer.

We discovered this place by chance yesterday. From the outside, the look and the huge beer garden simply beckoned us to stop in. It was bustling; we didn't have a reservation, of course, but after a short wait, we were shown to a table with a fantastic view of the Main River. Amazing! As I said, it was very busy, but a friendly waitress came over after a short while and asked us about our drinks, which were brought quickly. The pizzas were also delivered in a reasonable amount of time: huge, crispy, a little light on filling, but absolutely delicious. We will be back; the place is definitely worth a visit.

The Locanda enjoys an exceptionally good location directly on the Main River. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. In addition to the generous and delicious starters, the main courses were also consistently impressive. A wonderful experience.

We've always enjoyed coming here. Today will definitely be our last visit. The staff have always been very friendly. What we experienced today, in contrast, was completely unprofessional. Dear Locanda management, please ensure that you have trained staff in the future. We wanted to show our friends the restaurant and had reserved an outside table. Upon entry, we were very rudely informed that reservations outside weren't possible and that we should read the terms and conditions. This was done, as I said, very rudely and at an absolutely inappropriate volume. In the end, he simply left us standing there and turned to the other people waiting. It was very embarrassing. Of course, we left without anything to eat. Perhaps you should always read the terms and conditions, but we didn't think this was required for a table reservation. It's always worked well without them in other restaurants. They can perhaps afford to treat their guests like this, but is it really in their best interest?!

Terrible service. When picking up orders on time, guests are skillfully ignored. No greeting, no indication that they'll be served soon. After standing around at the bar for 15 minutes, I finally received half-hearted service. No apology. The pizza was already soggy...

By the river with view of the castle, which is nice. Staff were wonderfully friendly BUT it took nearly an hour to get our food, when it came my pasta was dry and the margarita pizza was cardboard base, the tomato sauce virtually nonexistent, and edam is not pizza cheese!! Sadly we were very disappointed as had high hopes from other reviews. Again staff were lovely.

The food is good and the location is a dream. Unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly good that evening. Neither the starter nor the main course arrived even remotely at the same time, and there were only two of us. One main course arrived lukewarm. At least they made an effort and were accommodating with the bill.

Unfortunately, eating together isn't possible here! The pasta arrived relatively quickly, and the pizza took a good 20 minutes to arrive... so we had to eat separately, or rather, my companion had ice-cold pasta – this is incomprehensible! Overall, I can't recommend Locanda, even though it tasted really good!

Wow, that was so lovely again! A fantastic atmosphere, very friendly service, and the pizza is always absolutely delicious! We always love coming here!

Very delicious pizzas, a must-visit in Würzburg

After our third visit, we're unfortunately a bit disappointed. The salad had the wrong ingredient, but was still charged accordingly, with a "I'll tell the kitchen." The pizza was rather bland; in my opinion, the dough lacked salt and the toppings lacked zest. Oh yeah, the salad dressing was more like watered-down yogurt than a dressing. My boyfriend felt the same way.

A total disaster, the food was served cold. There were four of us and we couldn't eat together. Everyone received their food at a different time. The food was either too salty or had too much garlic. The waitress apologized for the kitchen, but couldn't do anything. Please don't go there.

We ate at the Locanda in Würzburg today. The food was truly delicious – we had pasta dishes that came exactly as we ordered. They also catered to our special requests, which we were very pleased with. The ambiance is pleasant, and the seating is comfortable. However, we were a bit disappointed with the service. The staff was generally friendly, but they lacked attentiveness. It took quite a while before we could order, and we also had to wait an unusually long time to pay. In the end, I even went to the bar myself to let them know we wanted to pay. Our waitress signaled that she was coming, but cleared a large table first – which felt a bit unfortunate after the long wait. No one even asked if everything was okay or if we wanted anything else. We would have actually liked to order something else, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible. All in all: The food is excellent, the ambiance pleasant – but we think there's still room for improvement in the service. We would come back because of the cuisine, but with the knowledge that the service is not at the level we are used to from other restaurants.

Italian pizza and pasta were both very good! The ravioli were handmade and delicious. We had a beautiful seat right on the Main River! In the evenings, it's best to reserve a table in advance!

Went there with friends and our kids. We spent a total of 3 hours there. Not because it was that nice, but because the food took so long. After about 1.5 hours we got the first pizza. It was already empty by the time the second person got theirs. It went on like that for almost 3 hours until the last person got their pizza. Really difficult with kids. When we wanted to pay, we were left sitting there for another half hour. It wasn't even that busy that day, which is what you'd expect from the place. It's a shame that it took us almost the whole of Sunday afternoon to eat. The food itself was good, though. Despite that, we won't be going back, as this isn't the first time things have gone so wrong.

The large pizza is truly large. Very friendly service and a beautiful view of the fortress from the terrace. Unfortunately, reservations aren't accepted here, but if you ask nicely, you'll get a table.

We stopped by in August to try and get some food, but we couldn't get it for two nights in a row. The place was packed, and when you tried to get a table at the door, the staff wouldn't even look you in the eye. After 15 minutes without anyone answering, I left. It's a shame because last year the food wasn't bad.

A very nice outdoor terrace with a view of the Main River and the castle, fast and friendly service, and a huge, delicious pizza. And the espresso was also delicious.

Probably the insider tip in Würzburg. We only discovered it while passing by because the smell of pizza hit us. You either have to make a reservation or expect to wait. It's worth the wait. Whether pizza or pasta, it's simply delicious.

Absolutely beautiful location, very attentive staff.

A very idyllic restaurant with a fantastic view of the Marienberg Fortress. We ordered two pizzas, which, despite the restaurant being quite busy, arrived after a relatively short wait. They were so large they barely fit on our plates, and were very tasty, though unfortunately, the toppings were rather sparse. The waitresses were super friendly and attentive.

Pizza, 40 cm big, decent price. Ceasars 🥗 salad was pretty good also. Service was good and quite helpful, also had a table with a great view.

Probably an insider tip. You either have to make a reservation or expect to wait, but it's worth it. Sitting outside in nice weather is something special. The regular pizza is huge, extending 10 cm beyond the plate. If you can't manage that, you can order a second plate for 50 cents. Since the pizza is shared before it's even topped, you can also have it topped with different toppings. The pasta dishes are also great. The Neapolitan pizza is the real highlight, a little more expensive, but worth it.

Not so polite waiters at the entrance and during the meal. The wait was far too long, even when paying. The pizza with Prosciutto di Parma was burnt, and the ham was far too greasy (I had to remove the fat myself). Two stars because it was my second visit—the first was actually good.

A visit after which you decide you'll never come back... I ordered bruschetta as my main course, the others pizza and pasta. Mine came first, along with my drink and food. The others had to wait another 10 minutes for their drinks, and shortly after, the pizza arrived. Of course, we started because we thought the pasta would arrive soon. Well, we waited at least another 50 minutes for the pasta dishes to arrive. When we asked where they were, they said the food was prepared at different stations and therefore took different amounts of time. Many others felt the same way. If the food took so long, they should at least vote on it at the table. Regarding the taste of the pasta with tomato sauce and shrimp, "it didn't taste like anything."

Absolutely terrible experience, I would never go there again for a full day. There were four of us there; two of our dishes arrived after 15 minutes, the others after 50 minutes. As an apology, we were offered a coffee, which took another 20 minutes to arrive. We were there for a total of 2.5 hours. Unfortunately, the food wasn't impressive; their pizzas were okay, while my pasta lacked flavor. I wouldn't have been able to finish it without adding my own seasoning.

Always busy, a bit loud, service is sometimes difficult, but always delicious!

We ate here as a family with two children. The adults got their pizzas quite quickly and ate them right away, assuming the children would be served theirs right away. Unfortunately, our children still hadn't received their pizzas after 20 minutes. In the end, we had to eat separately, which is absolutely unacceptable for us as a family. It's a shame, as we were looking forward to eating together.

Highly recommended. Ordered pizza bread, pizza, and pasta. All really large portions and very tasty. Plus, there's an outdoor terrace with a view of the Main River.

Unfortunately, the service was very poor. We had reserved a table and were consistently ignored by the staff. After consulting with them, we were asked to walk around the venue to the guest reception. Unfortunately, there was no one there to man the guest reception. We left after 20 minutes.

Good pizza, good beer, vegetarian and vegan options, and a fantastic view (be sure to sit outside if the weather is nice). A well-rounded experience.

Writing this because I thought it unfair to complain to the very nice waitress and waiter as they certainly aren’t to blame for what reeks like a more systemic issue (judging from recent reviews and the disappointed looks and waiting times of other guests who were there at the same time), but this place isn’t worth going to. We had to wait almost an hour for simple pasta dishes and it wasn’t busy at all. The food arrived mostly cold — and that for rather steep prices. The saving grace was a coffee on the house when we provided feedback. It’s a pity as the view from the terrace is nice but you can’t just live of ambience as a restaurant.

Very tasty and huge pizzas at a really fair price. If you can't finish your pizza, you can also get a pizza box to go. Very friendly service. We always enjoy coming here. Great view of the Main River.

The three of us had a pizza and a Caesar salad. It was perfectly adequate, and everything was fresh and delicious. We received excellent service.

A beautiful location right on the Main River with a wonderful view and a pleasant atmosphere. It's especially lovely on warm days. While the wait for a seat can be a bit long, especially during peak hours, the friendly staff ensures you feel well looked after. The food is excellent, freshly prepared, tastes top-notch, and highly recommended. Those with a little patience will be rewarded with a thoroughly enjoyable visit.

It's like a Margarita pizza. • Waiting time for the food to arrive - way too long. Absolutely unacceptable. A big point deducted. • Additionally, I had my food at least 15 minutes earlier than my partner. The food was ordered at the same time and not delivered at the same time.

It's close by for pasta or pizza along the canal or on the bridge. Takeaway orders are available. The price is reasonable. There's a line because everyone seems to be thinking the same thing. I waited 20 minutes for a pizza, but that's a good sign you're doing nothing wrong. The large pizza is enough for 2.5 people.

The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The lady who was the floor manager the first night I ate there, went out of her way to ask if the kitchen would make a pasta dish for me. It was quite late and the kitchen was only making pizzas by that stage. I got my pasta thanks to her kindness. This sort of service brings people back. Which we did a couple of nights later. 🙏 🥇

One my go to places if I crave pizza 🍕 just give it a try!! It’s a must go in summer as the outside sitting area offers the best view and in all other season inside is also very warm and cozy. All the waiters and waitresses were very polite and friendly:)

Unfortunately, we weren't entirely satisfied with the service. First, we had to wait over a quarter of an hour for our order to be taken, and initially, only drinks were ordered—even though we already knew what we wanted to eat. It took another 10 minutes to place our food order. When our food arrived, there was no cutlery at the table yet, and we had to wait a long time for a waiter. At one point, we reordered a drink, which was forgotten. Here, too, we waited over a quarter of an hour. The worst part came when it came to paying. We had to wait almost half an hour after we said we were ready to pay. The service definitely needs improvement! Unfortunately, the restrooms were also very, very disgusting, and there was a bucket in the middle of the restaurant because it was dripping from the ceiling. There was also a puddle around the bucket. It didn't seem particularly safe or, above all, professional. The location itself is nice, especially the terrace. The food is okay, but nothing special. After this visit, I definitely think there are better alternatives in Würzburg.

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. First, the wrong drink came... (that can happen sometimes). But I found a maggot in my salad, which completely ruined my appetite. Furthermore, our food (there were two of us) arrived late. It's a shame, because the location is actually nice, but the service and hygiene desperately need to improve.

I wish there was a restaurant like that with a terrace in our city. It's a lovely location with a beautiful view. The food was good too. The correct way to put it on the T-shirts would be 'Est. 2010' or 'since 2010'. 'Est. since' = established since. Not correct 🙈

The pizza was pretty good. It's a strange custom that you can't change seats even if the tables are free. The view is quite nice.

A huge, delicious pizza picante with a nice, thin crust, fluffy crust, first-class seasoning, and fresh basil. 5 stars. We had to wait a bit for the food, but that wasn't a problem given the beautiful weather on the terrace. The staff was very friendly; everything was great!

We had reserved a table for last night and expressed a preference for an outdoor seating area. Upon arrival, we were very surprised to be led into the queue despite having a reservation. Finally, upon reaching the receptionist, I again expressed our wish to sit outside, given the summer weather. It seemed very incomprehensible why reservation guests were only allowed inside and thus treated worse than unannounced guests. The employee reacted with stress, referring in particular to their terms and conditions!!!, and subsequently became increasingly unfriendly and dominant... We finally left and were able to spend a wonderful evening in the neighboring restaurant. My recommendation to management is to relieve this easily overwhelmed individual (a dark-skinned, burly, very undiplomatic-seeming type) of this task and to better deploy him in an area where he can cause less damage to the Locando and its guests.

The pizza is delicious, but unfortunately, the wait time is completely unacceptable due to a lack of staff. After 10 minutes, you can only order drinks, and it takes another 15 to 20 minutes before you can order food. When asked why the wait was so long, the waiter explained, among other things, that he was alone on the terrace and no one was forcing us to eat there. We will take this advice into account and will definitely not return in the future. If you want to eat here, you should plan on plenty of time.

It's a good thing we arrived early and it wasn't that busy yet. The busier it got, the more disorganized the waiters seemed. If we hadn't called the waiter ourselves, we'd still be stuck for lunch. The food we ordered was brought, and the waiters didn't even know which table it belonged to. The pizza was also just so-so.

It was a complete disaster, from the wait time to the food itself. We ordered four dishes, which were brought one after the other, 20-30 minutes apart. The pasta was cold and sandy. The server seemed very indifferent when we told her what had happened. We were given used cutlery. The wait for the food was about two hours. I only tried a portion and was hungry. Not recommended!

We've been here several times, but not for a few years now. Sitting outside by the Main River is, of course, wonderful. Unfortunately, the service has deteriorated considerably. The waitress seemed annoyed by our orders, and we had to wait a very long time. The pizzas were okay, but nothing special. I've had better experiences at this restaurant. It's a shame.

I can only give this place a limited rating, as there's no free choice of seating in the beer garden; instead, you're assigned a seat by the staff. I wasn't in the mood for that.

Never again, we were there on Wednesday August 6th, 2025. The service was unpleasant, we waited 30 minutes to order and then 50 minutes for a pizza and they said: "We would like to pay" after 40 minutes. I think that was Wednesday so I wonder what happens on Saturdays?

The quality of the pizzas has unfortunately declined considerably. I had a vegetarian pizza with antipasti vegetables. It wasn't cooked properly, and the dough was extremely soggy, so I sent it back. After a while, I got a new, freshly made pizza. Unfortunately, even on the second attempt, the pizza base was by no means crispy, but rather soft and sloppy. Furthermore, the pizza was topped with peppers pickled in vinegar, among other things. That's not antipasti vegetables for me. I also had 'homemade' antipasti as an appetizer. I'd expect grilled eggplant, grilled zucchini, grilled peppers, etc. Instead, I got mostly 'ready-made' items like blackened olives, dark olives, jarred balsamic onions, artichokes, pepperoni, and jarred peppers, a few pickled zucchini slices, two mushrooms, and arugula. What a shame...

Unfortunately, a very disappointing visit with a medium-sized group. As part of a team outing, we had two hours to spare—we thought that would be more than enough. We were wrong: By the time the food was served (and even arrived at the table), we'd already finished several rounds of drinks. The salad, ordered without meat at our friendly request (the semi-friendly service commented, "But it still costs almost €16"), was disappointingly small. Did we reorder bread? 50 cents extra. We also waited another half hour for the bill. Very disappointing, unfortunately.

We used to be frequent and happy guests at Locanda, but unfortunately, both the quality of the food and the service have deteriorated significantly. The pizzas are now a matter of pure luck – sometimes edible, sometimes completely disappointing. On our last visit, the toppings were very sparse, and our complaint was simply pointed out that each pizza is precisely weighed and there are set quantities. This, however, leads to pizzas that are neither tasty nor visually convincing. I had a salmon pizza for a whopping €22, which had hardly any toppings. Only after complaining was it rectified – by simply sprinkling cold spinach on the already baked pizza. Only after a second complaint did I finally receive a new pizza. My husband's vegetarian pizza was also disappointing – a few pieces of vegetables and some cheese, nothing more. The tone of the new restaurant manager, Dave, is particularly unpleasant. Instead of addressing criticism, you are interrupted in a loud voice and hardly get a chance to speak. This is neither professional nor hospitable. Overall, our visit was very disappointing. Until the quality of the food and the customer service improve, we will not visit this restaurant again.

This visit to the Locanda was wonderful. We were seated almost immediately after checking in, and the view was amazing—one of the best tables. Service was also relatively quick. The pizzeria was very busy, but in my opinion, they had a bit too few staff. The food was good and the service was friendly. I know that Locanda isn't exactly known for its good service and friendly staff, but on this visit, everything was to our complete satisfaction :)

Incredibly good pizzas - and big ones! Friendly service.

Ordered to pick up last night, estimated pickup time about 25 minutes. Arrived after 30 minutes. It was absolutely packed, practically impossible to get through, and the staff were completely overwhelmed. It took 10 minutes before I finally got around to asking where I could pick up. Then I waited inside for another 20 minutes because my colleague was busy placing online orders. Then the pizza wasn't even ready (over half an hour after it was supposed to be ready). Nobody on the service team seemed interested; they simply referred me to the next colleague. Then a pile of pizza boxes arrived, and instead of briefly dealing with the customer, the employee happily continued to give me orders. Absolutely disastrous, never again. A soulless system of catering, every guest is greeted and farewelled with the same platitudes, the sentences seem rehearsed, the friendliness faked. The pizza was "okay," but I'll never order from there again.

Antipasti starter was unfortunately only sour and full of cheap blackened olives, waiting time for pizza as main course was abysmal - accordingly sloppy....such a pity, was once the best pizza in Wü

We went for dinner tonight. They gave us a table at 9 p.m. It took them over 15 minutes to take our order, and at 9:50 p.m. I told the waitress we'd been waiting for almost an hour. They didn't give us any explanation, and I think they were preparing it right then. In 5 or 6 minutes, they brought us both pasta dishes. The pasta was very, very tough and oily. What I'm sure of is that I won't go back.

A beautiful place, delicious food, good service, usually crowded, with indoor and outdoor seating. Overlooking a very beautiful and convenient location. Prices are a little high. Most Western and Italian dishes are available. Service inside the restaurant is good, and the staff are friendly and always smiling. You can make reservations before you come. I recommend it to everyone, including families and friends.

Very attentive service, delicious food. Even on my last visit this year, there was no reason to complain. 🙂 I wrote that two years ago and gave it five stars. Today it was terrible. The pizza dough was like chewing gum, the service was overwhelmed by the understaffing and tunnel-visioned, and the kitchen was also understaffed. This may all serve to maximize profits, but it's neither fair to the staff nor does it help generate repeat customers or, like me, retain them.

Yesterday evening, 12 people and I ate at LOCANDA. After being shown to our table, we realized it only seats 10. We waited another 10 minutes with the young lady at the front desk, who apologized and gave us a second table diagonally across from the other one. After about 25 minutes, we were finally served after repeated requests. The food was really delicious and arrived super quickly. Then, when it came to paying, the same thing happened again. We told the waitress that we'd like to pay, and she assured us she'd come right away. Now, what "right away" means is in the eye of the beholder, but for me, 35 minutes is no longer "right away." It's a real shame that in a place where hundreds of pizzas go over the counter on a Saturday evening, they're cutting back on staff. I definitely won't be coming back. Only to-go from now on.

The meal was an overly large, delicious stone-baked pizza 👍 The atmosphere was only four, but that was probably due to the weather, so we sat inside.

Yes, the food was excellent! But it loses one point for the side dish. The menu states that you can reorder it again and again for free! This makes the portions (fries and vegetables) very small! You definitely need a second portion to feel full. We waited 45 minutes because the kitchen staff couldn't keep up with the side dishes! I felt very sorry for the waiters, as the customers took their frustration out on them! (But they were super friendly and helpful!!!) I wish they would omit this addition from the menu and serve a regular portion instead! Then I would give it 10 stars!

Despite having a reservation, we had to wait almost half an hour on a Thursday evening. The server was super friendly and served us well, but everything took a very long time. The room we were in was also very noisy, as it was very high up. The food was very good, but the reservation system could be improved.

Ordered noodles with beef. Absolutely terrible. The pizzeria used to be really good. The noodles with beef were inedible! I'm very disappointed. We were just about to throw it away as soon as it arrived.

Yesterday I ordered and picked up two pizzas to go. The staff were very polite, but the pizzas were terrible. The crust was burnt, and both tasted burnt and dry. Then our starter also only arrived after a long wait, and with a few errors. We were also repeatedly brought items that were meant for another table. My main course (pasta) was cold. I am very unsatisfied; I have always had good experiences with Locanda, but now I would avoid eating there again, which I find very unfortunate.
