Locanda Würzburg - Pizza & Pasta in Würzburg

Very good restaurant. Pizzas are huge. We were just put under a bit of pressure because we were told we had to be ready within an hour. Unfortunately, food didn't arrive until after 35 minutes, which is why it was pretty tight in the end. But otherwise everything was great. Gladly again.

Seats are only available by reservation. We received two places after another guest canceled. The price is a bit too high for my taste considering the quality of the pizza. We found the waiting time to be long (approx. 30 minutes). I would actually eat more Franconian food next time. See other review

We were at the Locanda restaurant and ordered a pizza. Since we avoid pork, we specifically asked whether the ham on the pizza came from beef. We were confirmed that it was beef. In the end, however, it turned out that the ham was pork after all. This is not only disappointing, but also disrespectful to the customers and their religion. This kind of behavior is disgusting and completely unprofessional. If you need precise information, you should think carefully about whether you want to eat here. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant. Very unfortunate :(

I really don't understand the hype. The dishes all tasted bland, the atmosphere is loud and stressful, you are just dismissed and special requests are not taken into account. Yes, the pizzas are huge, but that's not even a good thing when you have a huge piece of dough that is sparsely topped and tastes like almost nothing. Please add salt and spices to your food.

Unfortunately quite a bit of chaos and service so-so... We (4 people) had reserved for 6 p.m. and we weren't assigned a place until around 6:25 p.m. Drinks were consumed quite quickly and three juice spritzers were available after just a few minutes. The fourth spritzer as well as the Wildberry Lillet and a cocktail took over 20 minutes to arrive. Food was then taken in and was also served fairly quickly. The portions were decent, but the toppings were very sparse, at least for the half truffle pizza (other half salmon) and half falafel pizza (other half tuna). It felt like there were only 3-4 crushed falafel balls on half of the falafel and only 3-4 slices of truffle on half of the truffle pizza... A pretty steep price for that. The salad and the pizza special were well topped, as were the other two halves with tuna and salmon. As soon as we had finished eating, we were asked to vacate the table and go to one of the bar tables at the bar, as the reservation had unfortunately been "miscalculated".... Well, nice as we are, we followed the staff's request. We were each offered a schnapps on the house as compensation, which we gladly accepted. However, we had to wait a good 15 minutes for it. When the staff asked about the partly sparsely topped pizza, we only received a succinct answer that the ingredients, especially the truffles, were expensive and therefore had to be counted... Saying that to the guest's face is a bit cheeky, especially since the pizza is not exactly cheap at well over €20...

We were there with a larger group with a reservation. We were first taken to the basement bar because our table wasn't free. We were allowed to pay for our own drinks while waiting. After 45 minutes of waiting and repeated inquiries, we were brought to our table. The service is wildly disorganized, the pizzas are large but extremely thin, and the salads are a bad joke for the price. Overall, the premises are a bit unkempt and very noisy for a restaurant.

We ordered online immediately after the delivery service opened, delivery time was given as 55 minutes. When the food wasn't there after almost 90 minutes, I called and was told the driver would be there in 5 to 10 minutes. That turned into another 20 minutes. We waited 1.75 hours for 2 portions of pasta and a pizza, the pizza was cold. There was also a single ball of mozzarella on the caprese half and an olive. The noodle portions were so small that we had to eat something else afterwards. 2 stars for the food because it was still delicious despite the temperature, but honestly: you're not cheap and the delivery time and condition are really a disgrace. Next time we'll cook ourselves.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our visit to the Locanda restaurant. The service was inattentive and disorganized - we had to wait a long time for our drinks, food and even the bill. In the end our order wasn't even complete, one dish was missing. The food itself was mixed: the pizzas were okay, but the portion of spaghetti carbonara was small and not a highlight in terms of taste. In addition, the ambience made an unkempt impression. The decorations on the wall were dusty and there were cobwebs on the walls. The toilets were also pretty dirty. In summary, it was a disappointing experience for us that we will not repeat. Unfortunately, there are many comments similar to mine here, but people seem to prefer to comment on every review instead of actually actively working on the problems - what a shame!

We were there last night with a reservation (a week in advance) for 3 people at 7 p.m. on time and had to wait 20 minutes for a table 🙁 we didn't think it was that great and next time if we come at all, you can save yourself the reservation. ..too bad

Huge and delicious pizza for a regular price!

The pumpkin soup was incredibly delicious!! The price-performance ratio is slowly no longer consistent, the pizza tasted good but was quite dry. Small note: I would find it easier if the pizza was sliced. There was a drag at our place because the front door was open, the chairs were also very uncomfortable, no cushions. The table was too small for two giant pizzas. The elevator smelled unpleasant and was dingy. The highlight, however, was the disabled toilet: it smelled strongly of urine and you could only breathe out of your mouth. The changing mat was yellowed. I find it very unfortunate. The service employee was very great!

The quality of In my opinion, Locanda has lost a lot of weight. I've eaten there several times and order regularly. Food on site: The last time the service was really a joke. It was the afternoon and not very busy. When the two of us entered the restaurant, we waited a relatively long time until we were assigned a table - even though there was nothing going on inside. Most of the staff sat at the bar - some with food or drinks - and people also seemed to be there "visiting" to hang out with the staff. Accordingly, they had little desire to serve us. Totally strange when you go to eat in a restaurant where half the staff hangs around the bar as if they were guests. I don't know of any store where this is allowed. However, food was okay. Food delivered to your home: Here my judgment is much worse. Sometimes you really have to wait an eternity for delivery. Very often it happened that ingredients were missing (!) even though you can sometimes book them separately for a fee... or there was so ridiculously little of the corresponding ingredient on the pizza that you really thought about making a complaint send. Overall, the service has really deteriorated. It's a shame - I'll probably think about continuing to order there in the future or stopping by for dinner...

I've been there several times and ordered and sometimes it was better and sometimes it was okay, but I've never been as disappointed as I was today. We ordered pizza, instead of the announced delivery time of 1 hour it took 2 hours. The pizza was almost cold, the extras we ordered weren't on the pizza and what's more, it had very few toppings and tasted absolutely unseasoned. In the places where there was no sausage, it tasted like cardboard. I hope the quality and service will improve again to reach previous standards.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. The pizzas are probably recommended. If you feel like doing something different, it's better not to stay at the Locanda. I had a Ceaser Salad, which came about 15-20 minutes before the pizzas. Unfortunately, it was clear that it had been in the fridge for a while. The lettuce leaves were rotten and the tomatoes were also older. I used to always enjoy eating salad. Overall we had to wait a while and the food came at very different times. Maybe we had a bad day but overall the visit was rather disappointing.

There are better antipasti, but the pizza bread and pizzas are very 😋

We were visiting Würzburg and ate here on a recommendation. Very cozy atmosphere. The service was friendly and quick despite the well-filled dining room. We ordered pizza and were surprised that many people only ordered half a pizza. When we got ours, we knew why. It is huge and the plate was even too small for that 😂. The pizza was freshly prepared and tasted really delicious. Price-performance was absolutely ok. A clear recommendation! Reservation advantageous.

Very complex, delicious, large pizza baked in the wood-fired oven. You can order half or half for smaller appetites. Service and food are excellent. It's best to reserve a spot at peak times.

We had reserved a table for our group and were there on time, even 5 minutes before the agreed time. Unfortunately, we were still put in a queue with other guests who apparently didn't have a reservation. After a whopping 25 minutes of waiting, we were finally allowed to go to our table, which had been free the whole time. The drink order was taken and delivered quickly, but we then had to wait an incredible 50 minutes for our food. In total, we received our food almost 2 hours after our reservation time, which put us under considerable time pressure because we had an appointment afterwards. The pizzas tasted OK, but were a bit dry. If you want to eat here, you should definitely bring plenty of time. Overall a disappointing experience in terms of service, despite good pizza.

Very bad and what follows is bad. They brought my pasta and my husband's pizza was never brought. I could give 0 stars. They said they would bring us a reward coffee, but it never arrived. Very bad service.

We had a very tasty meal here. The pizza is awesome. I have to eat a lactose-free and low-fat diet for an illness. My needs were taken into account. I had homemade tagliatelle with beef and vegetables. Really well done.

Very tasty pizza (just like you get on Lake Garda). The blonde young lady who served us was super nice, just great (all the other employees were friendly and accommodating too!). It was very busy inside, but you didn't feel rushed. We were there with 11 people and would definitely eat there again

We were there with a larger group (24 people), unfortunately two of our group received their food much later than everyone else. The pizzas are very large and tasted very good. We were very upset about the dessert “Bueno Bueno” on the monthly menu. This was advertised as mascarpone cream with strawberries and Bueno. What came was a simple, thin yoghurt in a glass with cinnamon (??? what this was doing in it wasn't clear), a few strawberry slices and the Bueno bar. The whole thing for the proud price of €7.50!!! We asked the waiter where the promised mascarpone was hidden and that yogurt at this price was really outrageous. But he could only assure us that he would pass it on, he couldn't give any information about the ingredients. No discount on the price possible, what a shame!

Phew...eat great, you can say that. But friendliness and how people treat each other in front of guests is impossible. We felt so bad and left. And that on two evenings in a row. What's going on there?

Way too slow, unreliable and unprofessional. We had 2 hour slot and I managed to get only starter!

We reserved a table for 6:30 p.m. After we received the menu and decided on pizza and drinks, we wanted to order straight away because the concert starts at 8 p.m. We were told that the drinks would be ordered first and the food later. We just said that as long as it comes on time it's not an issue but still not understandable. At 7:30 p.m. we asked several times about our pizzas, they just kept saying, I'll see how long it will take. As we discovered, no questions were asked. At around 7:45 p.m. we wanted to pay for our drinks. Then the service became slightly rude. We often eat there because the pizza is very good. But it happened too often that you had to wait between 1 - 2 hours for your pizza. That really can't be the case. The last time we were here was to eat pizza.

Unique location directly on the banks of the Main. The homemade pasta was very good. I don't understand why pizzas are made so large that you can no longer cut them because they protrude far beyond the plate. Parking garage directly below the restaurant (if there are still free parking spaces there...).

Great pizza with long wait times

I was incredibly disappointed, poor service and the food left a lot to be desired... a disappointment! not recommended

We were here after lunchtime and stood for 10 minutes before we were offered a table. We were allowed to order food quickly, but we had the wrong ingredients on the pizza. Then the problem is that the pizza is much too big for the plate, we asked for an additional empty plate, which we didn't get. When we addressed the issue of the wrong ingredients honestly and in a friendly manner, all we got back was a short “sorry”. The food is really delicious, but the service definitely needs to work on itself.

We ordered to go and unfortunately didn't get what we expected. Two of our pizzas were the diameter of a small children's pizza. The employee admitted it and still didn't give us a discount. An absolute impudence, not recommended

Unfortunately we had to wait forever. To order drinks, then to order food and well, we got pizza boxes ourselves and then we went to the counter to pay... It was also a shame that the pizza didn't come to the table hot... All in all, very sobering

Nice place. Casual indoors, great seating areas outside. The staff is friendly, helpful and even though we came at short notice without a reservation, we found a place in the busy indoor area. The food was good, the portions were very good and special requests were also accommodated for a small additional charge. It was important to us that vegan dishes were also offered and the menu also has a lot to offer. Great place even for larger groups.

We wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday in May 2024 and were completely disappointed with the cuisine. We've never had such a bad meal in a restaurant.

I've never had such a big and delicious pizza

The food at the Locanda wasn't great, but still very tasty. The pizzas are impressive because of their size, but they are very thin and therefore quite soft on the inside. But the edge was very crispy. Our service was friendly, nice and on point! After we got a table relatively quickly, we were able to order drinks and food directly. It took a while for the food to arrive, but that's to be expected in a full restaurant on a Sunday evening. There are also children's chairs, but in my opinion due to their size they are more suitable for children aged around 1 year. There is an extra children's card, which also has coloring pictures and questions on the inside. We were also given enough pens to bring to our place. Unfortunately, what really disappointed me was the very unclean (women's) toilets! Not a single one was really clean. The trash can for paper towels was overflowing so that a pile had already formed on it and next to it. Something like that doesn't work! All in all, I would visit the restaurant again!

We were there around 3 p.m. without a reservation, no problem at first. Unfortunately, in this restaurant you are completely squashed together and have to sit at the table with random strangers. We simply found that inappropriate, as you have no privacy at all and have to constantly listen to the conversations of the entire restaurant. We both had a Neapolitan-style pizza, which in our opinion has nothing to do with Neapolitan pizza. We both had the original in Naples and would never believe that a pizza in Germany would reach the same level of quality, but this was very far from it. The edge was far too crispy, almost as hard as a board, and the pizza itself was simply baked far too long. Furthermore, in Naples you pay 5 euros for the original and here we paid almost 20 euros for a pizza, which is absurdly expensive. We also just didn't understand why the pizza with tomato sauce cost 2 euros more than the one with pulled pork. The service was also poor because there wasn't really much going on and we still had to wait almost 15 minutes before we could even order - but only the drinks. We didn't understand why we had to wait again to order the food, because that took another 20 minutes. We were there a long time ago and unfortunately had forgotten why we didn't go there anymore - now we know it again...

The pizzas are HUGE. I can usually eat a lot but I couldn't manage it 😅 But still very tasty, cozy and friendly

Had to wait 50 minutes for my pizza instead of the stated 25 minutes. I had a caprese pizza. The cheese tasted strange and after about an hour of eating it I felt very sick with a bad stomach ache and unfortunately I had to throw up.

Big, good pizza in a relaxed atmosphere

The ambience is nice, especially with the Main river running past right next door. This location a short distance from the Main Bridge is also ideal. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Unfortunately, the waiting times for food and payment were relatively long, which somewhat diminished the good impression.

If the terrace is full there is no control to get a table. If you ask the waiters, they will simply tell you to fight those waiting like you. A waiting list would be a good option. It was impossible to get a table.

on the menu was a picture of the pizza I wanted (Pizza Firenze). It didn't look anything like the picture: spinach just slapped onto two parts of the pizza, just like the mushrooms. She just looked terrible, made without effort or passion. My friend had fish on her pizza even though she ordered a vegetarian one! My other friend had little flies on her pizza! I wish I had just bought a frozen pizza from the supermarket - it would have been 10 times tastier. Overall it was a disaster. We will definitely never eat there again.

Were there in the evening. Great terrace with a beautiful light ambience on the Main. The large pizzas blew us away. The taste was awesome. We are stale to get a table for five, I will happily do that again.

Me and my wife always enjoy coming here. If we want to eat and drink well, Locanda is one of our favorite spots in Würzburg. Have never been disappointed here. We had a very nice waitress who served us. Bring your hunger and time, the Locanda Würzburg is very busy on weekends. I work in the catering industry myself and know how hard it is to provide this kind of service to customers. Of course we will be back and big praise to the Locanda team.♥️🙏🏼

We left extremely disappointed First we were sent out from inside to a queue of mostly people who hadn't made reservations Then we were led to our reserved table, unfortunately inside, where it wasn't even clear where exactly When we asked if we wanted to sit outside we were told we had to get in line again to go outside, what kind of service is that? I will never visit this location again Especially since I've often been annoyed about this wait in the past But this service today has finally shown it This store is one of the most poorly organized in the whole of Würzburg Just sad This chain is much better run in other cities!

Food was good, pizzas are really big. Unfortunately, the edge was partially burned. We waited at least half an hour until we could order our drinks, then 2 out of 10 were brought and the rest only after 20 minutes. We were only able to order food after we had been sitting in the restaurant for an hour and only after asking several times. However, after ordering, the food came relatively quickly. Unfortunately something was forgotten about a salad but quickly repaired. Dessert took 20 minutes again. All in all, I would say the staff is simply overwhelmed by the number of guests.

**Review for the restaurant Locanda** Update: 2nd visit in September. Unfortunately the situation has not improved. More than half of the guests at our table had almost finished their meal before the drinks were served. Repeated inquiries about the drinks and additional requests, such as additional cheese, were ignored. The training measures announced after my initial review do not appear to have been implemented as there has been no change in the quality of service. June 2024 The pizzas at Locanda are good, but extremely crispy, which might be a bit overkill for some. The edge of the pizzas was sometimes not that good and could have been better. A big drawback was the waiting times. We had to wait a very, very long time for our drinks - at least half an hour, despite asking several times (at least four times). The pizzas themselves were also a long time coming and were only served after more than two hours! The service was friendly, but uncoordinated. You couldn't order from every waiter and even if you could (as an exception), the order was often not passed on. Even a bottle of water took forever. The hygiene of the toilets was very disappointing. When we visited at 9pm, the toilets hadn't been cleaned since 2pm. They were therefore very unhygienic: the rubbish bins were full, there was no paper left and there was a lot of rubbish on the floor.

The food was 10/10 and we had very nice and competent service who gave us great advice! Slay✨

The staff didn't have the best day during our visit and seemed to be in a bad mood. I don't understand the big pizzas and too small plates, is there a concept behind it? This made the pizza not so pleasant to eat, so I would have liked either larger plates or some kind of support, then the eating experience would have been better. The taste of the pizza was okay, but rather average. The location is nice, but the indoor area is not recommended when the outside temperature is over 30 degrees.

The quality is getting worse! When I in Würzburg, I ordered here’s pizza all the time. At first it’s way too big for the price, then alright. Now I’m not full at all after eating while the pizza . The toppings are so less too. Disappointed! Why I spend almost 20 euro on it ?

Sorry, it may be a good restaurant but you still have a lot to learn with reservations. I called on Sunday to make a reservation for 10-15 people. I was told on the phone that they still have plenty of space for the date xx but I had to go to one of these If you have a large group, submit the reservation using the contact form and I will receive a response within 48 hours. After 4 days I called again and after getting no answer I was told that everything was full and they had no more space and the person who said to me on Sunday that there was still a lot of free space had no eyes in his head. Sorry with so much incompetence, the locanda is history for me.

The Locanda in Würzburg is conveniently located directly on the Main and, with its expansive, elevated outdoor terrace, offers a nice place to linger, which is also suitable for larger groups. When we visited, the terrace was already quite full, so it understandably took some time. Nevertheless, with a long and relaxed wait, it was a bit difficult to communicate with the service. We then split up into two tables and ordered at different times. Unfortunately, this meant that one table had already finished eating before the other had even received their first dishes. In general it seemed a bit disorganized. I can't say whether it was because there weren't enough service staff for the number of guests or whether it was due to the organization and table allocation. Some of the food was delicious. I had Melanzana pasta, unfortunately the same dish at another table wasn't as good because the pasta was very overcooked. The pizza was, as I was told, OK, but not entirely convincing. The vegan pizza in particular was unfortunately not entirely successful in terms of presentation and the vegan cheese selection. Very tasty food. Unfortunately the service was really not good. We wanted to order drinks and food at the same time, so after the drinks we were told that he would come back to order the food as he also had other things to do. That was really very special. Unfortunately, the toilets were so filthy on a Saturday afternoon that you could hardly get in the door while four staff were sitting at the counter inside and chatting. It's a real shame because the food was great. Unfortunately, everything around it was no longer right for me. There were three of us. The salad came over half an hour before the other two main courses, which was also very unpleasant.
