Long wait times for service. The food and drinks were very good.

It was quiet on a Monday night, but we still had to wait at the entrance – apparently, only one person is allowed to seat guests. Others simply ignore you. The staff seemed overwhelmed, as drink and food orders aren't taken at the same time – which means you wait longer as a guest. Drinks took 10 minutes while the bar staff were messing around. Tables weren't cleaned properly. The pasta was bland, and the pizza, while good, was too big for the plate and overhung the dirty table. Sadly disappointing.

We reserved a table for 11 people yesterday. I am truly appalled by the service. We have never been served such unfriendly food. The cutlery was practically slammed down on the table after we ordered. The drinks were simply placed on the table – how could they even divide them? After the food was served, we were completely ignored by the waiters. No one asked if everything was okay, no one asked if anyone wanted another drink. One meal wasn't brought at all. We had to ask another waiter twice where the food was and if it was still coming. After almost everyone had finished eating, the missing food was brought to the table. No apology, nothing... For the pizzas we didn't quite finish, we were brought pieces of aluminum foil that were barely big enough to wrap the pizza. When we asked if we could have boxes, we were told there were none left... boxes were brought to other tables. And when it came to paying, I had to wait forever before my payment was made. We had really been looking forward to the evening and were very, very disappointed. The atmosphere was truly ruined. What a pity, we left a lot of money there and went home unhappy and disappointed!

We spontaneously arrived at the restaurant around noon on a Saturday afternoon as a group of 10 people, without a reservation. Despite the crowds, we only had to wait a short time and were then given a nice table outside, right by the Main River. The location is truly beautiful, ideal for sitting and enjoying ourselves. We ordered mostly pasta and pizza and were thoroughly satisfied: The portions were large, especially the pizzas! Everything tasted great, freshly prepared, and very tasty. The value for money was also good. The service was friendly, attentive, and well-organized, even though it was busy. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable visit. We'd be happy to come back!

The food gave me a stomach ache and upset stomach. The service wasn't the best either; since the restaurant was full, we waited a long time for our food and a table. Also, the pizza came faster than the pasta, so one person had to sit and watch the others eat. The prices are okay for the food. The food took a long time to arrive, but it was acceptable. The food was delicious, but we had to wait about 40 minutes for it. When the waitress came and asked what we wanted to drink, I said I wanted Aperol, but my boyfriend hadn't decided yet. The waitress then very rudely told us to wait until everyone was finished before ordering. She then walked past our table the whole evening with a dissatisfied expression on her face. When, after waiting half an hour, I asked when my pasta would be brought, she pulled a face and left without a word. For the rest of the evening, we were served by other waiters who were extremely nice. The rest of the evening went well. The food and drinks were very good. However, the first waitress left a very unpleasant taste in our mouths.

I won't be visiting Locanda again. The quality has unfortunately deteriorated. The pizza dough was dry, wrinkled, brittle, and of varying thickness. I complained about my pizza because it wasn't nicely topped and had large, empty spots. The pizza was taken away and returned unchanged. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm. Now came the next and biggest annoyance. The server was accompanied by a man in a striped shirt named Dave. He loudly explained to me that everything was fine because the toppings are charged by the gram. After a few words, he left with the words: "This is chain catering." After this conversation with Dave, I lost interest. It seems to be his way of addressing guests loudly and feeling that everything he says is correct. By the way, I didn't ask to be addressed informally. Well, I won't be coming back again. I used to enjoy visiting the Locanda, but that has completely disappeared since July 5, 2025. I felt like Dave's guests were worthless.

We sat down to the table at 19.30 and we still don’t have the foods, the time is 21:00. The service is not proper.

A large pizza isn't everything! Sure, the pizzas are huge, but that's no use if the dough isn't cooked through and raw. So my pizza with raw ham and arugula went back to the kitchen. Instead of removing the ham and arugula, they simply put everything in the oven. A short while later, the pizza was back, still undercooked, the crust just slightly browned on the bottom and still soft like toast, but the ham was heated through, and the arugula was wilted. The pictures were taken after the rescue attempt; nothing had been changed. The toppings were carelessly placed. I don't need a large pizza then. The atmosphere is great, the staff was friendly, that's it.

It was tasty, but there was too little coffee and no alcohol in the base. The mascarpone cream is way too sweet, and they don't use ladyfingers as you'd expect; it's just some other kind of biscuit. It tasted good, but it's more like a cake. Service: Very friendly staff, but if you're expecting a bit more upscale service, you're in the wrong place. Ambience: Beautiful location, if you sit outside you have a beautiful view of the Main.

Waited 47 minutes for the pizza. The pizza itself was huge and delicious.

The pizzas may be good, but the service and the way they treat customers is a disgrace! When we asked if we could have a table on the terrace instead of inside, we were condescendingly told why that wasn't possible and that they don't take reservations outside, and that it's stated in their terms and conditions. We didn't get a table outside, even though there were plenty available and the waiting area was barely full. Simply cheeky and brazen! Definitely not recommended! Their arrogance is hard to beat.

We were 9 people. This is why we called one night before to reserve a table. They told us that there is no Reservation possible and we should just come alone and walk in. Once we walked in the day after, we realised that there are Reservations possible. Because we wanted to sit outside and they refused us to sit outside because its all reserved for people who will come. There were plenty of freee tables available outside... never again

The pizza is good—the main selling point here is definitely the size and the beautiful view of the fortress in summer. However, when it comes to the overall ambiance and authentic Neapolitan flavor, I'm more drawn to Pepe at Cosmo.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant in terms of service. I wanted to make a reservation for 9 people for a weekend – according to the website, you should request it by email in such a case. I did, but even after several days, I didn't receive a response. I then sent a second email – also without any response. It's a shame, because we were looking forward to the visit. Ultimately, I decided on another restaurant where the owner was visibly pleased with our visit and communicated professionally. Good service begins with the initial contact – unfortunately, that was disappointing here.

A definite recommendation. Four of us, including one person in a wheelchair, ate here while passing through. We got a table despite our last-minute request, and I'd like to highlight the very helpful staff!

Complicated - it's a hotspot in Wü, of course. But ambiance and decent pizzas are sometimes not enough. Never! - we had to wait two hours for a couple of pizzas! You can't blame the service at all, as they are obviously completely understaffed. What is completely unacceptable is the lack of communication, so proactively explaining the situation - too few staff, kitchen understaffed, etc. - and then, for example, offering a bit of bread with olive oil for dipping or a drink. It was especially tough for our grandchild, who was really hungry. Sorry, you need to work on your scheduling and/or briefing, or adjust the seating to accommodate capacity. The two stars are for the view.

Disappointing Visit After Ten Years – A Disastrous Fall! About ten years ago, I had fond memories of this restaurant, but my most recent visit was a bitter disappointment and a dramatic fall from grace. The first irritations arose upon arrival: Although we had made a reservation, we were rudely informed that reservations generally only apply to indoor seating. When we asked if we could sit outside on this beautiful summer day, an employee dismissed us and told us to read the terms and conditions on the website. He added sarcastically that he knew no one reads them. Honestly, we should have left at that point – a restaurant that expects guests to read the terms and conditions in advance to find out basic information leaves a very questionable impression. Lack of Hygiene and Bizarre Conditions The restrooms were another annoyance. The cleaning schedule listed the last cleaning as 11:15 a.m., while our visit took place at 7:30 p.m. Even more irritating, however, was that the cleaning staff sat directly in front of the restrooms and asked for tips. This created an atmosphere more reminiscent of a beer tent than a restaurant with pizza prices ranging from €13 to €25. It raises the question of whether the restaurant can't adequately pay its staff despite these prices. Chaotic Service Despite Large Staff We were a group of about 15 people, and the service was consistently disorganized. Almost every drink took 20 to 30 minutes to arrive, and often wasn't even what we ordered. Given the seemingly large number of employees, this was extremely surprising. The payment process was correspondingly chaotic, as nothing seemed right here. Unclean Open Kitchen A glance into the open kitchen confirms the overall impression: dirty and unclean best describes the condition. Conclusion: Never again! This visit was an absolute disappointment. From the arrogant reception to the lack of hygiene and chaotic service to the unclean kitchen – nothing was right here. For me, one thing is clear: Never again!

Great location, but the service ruins everything The location is truly beautiful, stylishly decorated, and invites you to linger – actually, the perfect conditions for a successful restaurant visit. Anyone who values ​​organization, reliability, and hospitality should carefully consider whether they can have a pleasant evening here.

Very long waiting time otherwise good location and that's it

Even though we enjoyed the drinks and food, I won't be coming back with this level of service. Waiting forever to order when it was barely busy, and then only being able to order drinks when we did...exciting. Then waiting forever again for our food order...why? If you're full, it's a nice place, but if you're hungry, waiting an hour for your food...not for the faint of heart!

We were waiting 5 pizzas for two hours because only one waiter was serving many full tables.

The appetizers, which were delicious, arrived relatively promptly. However, we had to wait an hour between the first and second courses. Even for our second drink order, we asked after half an hour whether we had been forgotten. We could easily have ordered a third round of drinks in that time. When the drinks finally arrived, no wine glass was brought; instead, we had to get one ourselves at the bar after 20 minutes, even though the waitress was made aware of this when the wine carafe was brought. After a friendly reminder to the waitress that a higher tip is given for service with a friendly smile and a warm welcome, the waitress began to "discipline" us as guests who dared to express criticism. The disciplinary measures were the points mentioned above. The Mango Rosemary Spritzer was a mango juice spritzer without sparkling wine or rosemary. The main course, Tagliatelle di Manzo, consisted predominantly of wild mushrooms, with a 30:70 ratio of Angus beef fillet strips to mushrooms. The sauce had a dominant mushroom flavor and was very floury (not a cream sauce). Furthermore, the tagliatelle pasta wasn't soft enough (it had nothing to do with "al dente" either). Conclusion: The waitress was ignorant and unfriendly, and the food and drinks were generally poor value for money.

Super huge pizzas. Great location on the banks of the Main. Friendly, professional service. Unfortunately, due to a bit of wind, the umbrellas outside weren't open at all, even though they looked firmly anchored and stable.

Planned stay from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It was clarified in advance via reservation that one hour would be sufficient. The food arrived at 7:00 p.m. Unfortunately, we had to move on by then; someone had their pizza packed. Unfortunately, even after repeated inquiries, they didn't accommodate our needs. They certainly knew before we called that a wedding dinner would be taking place that day. It goes without saying that this would require capacity. Therefore, we would have appreciated a cancellation of our reservation.

After ordering drinks, we had to wait over half an hour for a waiter, and we had to call him several times ourselves to even order food. After another 40 minutes, four pizzas arrived. But then another full hour passed before the ravioli and pasta dish for the remaining two people finally arrived. At first, they just said "right away," but later they cited shift changes and miscommunication with the kitchen as excuses. A relaxed meal together was impossible. We had to constantly ask for directions and felt completely unwelcome. We cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. Instead, I would rather recommend another restaurant in Würzburg.

Absolute audacity! Despite having a reservation and being extremely punctual, we were very rudely turned away by the waiter! We had to find another restaurant. This restaurant is completely overwhelmed with the volume of customers. Another time, I ordered to take out, only to be told that my order had been forgotten. I had to wait half an hour and received a burnt pizza. No refund or even an apology! I've eaten at this restaurant several times because I lived just a few doors down for years. The pizza is average to low-quality in terms of taste, standing out only for its size. The location is the only reason they can afford to treat their customers like this! I will never eat there again after this experience!

I, too, agree with the many negative reviews. We tried to reserve a pizza for pickup by phone around 9 p.m. on a Friday. An employee answered the phone and briefly asked me to be patient, as the actual phone operator was busy (okay?). I was then put on hold for 10 minutes. The wait was so long that I was able to walk into the restaurant and found five employees happily chatting behind the bar. Not a word of apology, oh well. Then, of course, you start to wonder if you, as a customer, really want to do that. What makes things even more difficult is that the pickup/payment station is located in the middle of the restaurant next to the bar, and if you want to pick up there, you're automatically in the waiter's path. You're repeatedly rudely insulted (yes, I know I'm in the way, but your boss designed the restaurant that way; nobody can help it). Food: Ingredients carelessly thrown onto the pizza (some you have to search for, some are in a big pile somewhere on the dough), and the Neapolitan pizza was also a bit of a flop. Ultimately, it was €45 of wasted money, but you might be smarter than we were because: All in all: there are plenty of good pizzerias within walking distance: escape there while you still can! ☺️

I was a bit disappointed with the truffle pizza. 3 slices of truffle and a lake of truffle oil. Oh well... You definitely got full. The service was also good and very attentive. The salad was really delicious. Overall, it was okay... But it definitely doesn't compare to my favorite Italian restaurant.

The manager was pretty inappropriate. We actually just wanted to sit in the shade. We had reserved a table for 11. Unfortunately, we had to leave. Because it was either sitting in the sun or nothing to eat... Therefore, no rating for the food.

We arrived unannounced with a group of eight people, and we waited less than 10 minutes for seats, thanks to the head waiter. Our drink and food orders were taken quickly by the very friendly waitress. The drinks were served shortly afterward; we had to wait a bit for the food, which was fine considering the large number of guests; it's not a "fast-food restaurant" after all! If we ever come to Würzburg again, this restaurant will be our first choice!

We spontaneously arrived at the Locanda as a group on a holiday. We were there for a total of about 2.5 hours. Not because we ordered so many courses, but because the service was so slow, and we didn't receive our food for about 1.5 hours. We received our first drinks after 20 minutes, but only two people from the group. After that, two more drinks arrived every 10 minutes. I've never experienced anything like that in a restaurant before. The experience at dinner was similar: the appetizers came after the main courses, and there wasn't even a spoon for the pasta. The fact that the main courses all arrived at different times at least fit in with the rest of the experience. We used to really enjoy eating at the Locanda, but after today's visit, none of us will be going back anytime soon.

SOMETIMES EVERYTHING WAS BETTER IN THE BEFORE: 1. The seating management for the outdoor area used to be fantastic. We've known for years that you can't reserve outside (only inside)...now it's different, because if you make a reservation inside, you get priority. We were then rushed to our table with the words "why didn't you reserve it?"! Oh, Ton: I'm the manager and I know what the rules are here now! In the past, you could just relax and wait with a fantastic strawberry daiqiri (which is no longer available). 3. The drinks came relatively quickly, but the food took an hour to arrive. (Good thing we had a whole bottle of wine and plenty of water 😅) 4. The table next to us warned us, because they were no different. 5. The appetizer (vitello tonato) looked good, but we had to search for a few pieces of meat under the mountain of sauce. 6. The pizza was a disaster: dry and sparsely topped, and the size didn't help either, as half of it was crusty :-( 7. No table got their food at the same time... 8. The service was attentive and friendly, but seemed completely overwhelmed. CONCLUSION: Our long-standing, highly popular location is now history and absolutely no longer recommended. What a pity, even the prime location doesn't help.

We were at Locanda last Sunday. It wasn't overly busy. After the waiter initially ignored us, we were finally able to place an order. The drinks arrived after about 20 minutes. After waiting over an hour, our appetizer arrived. Since we wanted to share, we ordered two plates. There was no sign of this. We then requested them later and, after waiting a little longer, ate without an extra plate. We waited a total of almost 2 hours for the main course. After asking several times, we were always told the food would be right away. When it became too much for us, we left without a main course, just like the table next to us. At the counter, we tried to pay for our two drinks and the appetizer. There we discovered that the waiter was clearly unable to change the money. Their service needs urgent improvement! Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant, and we are more than disappointed with our visit.

Highly recommended! A friendly welcome, and you're shown to your table. Drinks arrive quickly. We had pizza, which was simply enormous and incredibly delicious. We had a wonderful view of the Main River, the old Main Bridge, and Marienberg Fortress. The staff is very friendly, prompt, and attentive. Tip: We couldn't quite finish the huge pizzas, so we just had them brought to us. Best reheated pizza 🍕, I'll just say.

The pizza was very good and not too expensive considering the view. It offers a great view of the Main River and the fortress on the hill, as well as an old ship's cargo crane. The service was polite and quick, despite the busyness.

The pizzas were good but too many negative points about the restaurant management. Poor, overwhelmed servers and a kitchen that runs at a slow pace... I unfortunately find it regrettable to have to wait 1 hour to receive the first pizza and then have to go find the server at the cash register to request the arrival of the 2nd pizza (20 minutes later). There is really a problem with staff or space management (surely dictated by an ideology that is more financial than commercial). Economic performance I have no doubt but for the customer experience it is a zero point. The core business should be catering in the noble sense of the term. I will unfortunately not return despite the satisfied quality of the pizzas.

I've in the restaurant many times over the past years and it is the first time that I'm sure I won't come back. The waitress that was attending our table came once every half an hour, we needed to wait a lot to order the food, but then the food never came. After more than one hour waiting we asked the waitress what was going on with our food, and 10 minutes later it arrived. After waiting so much we wanted to pay but it was also impossible, the only option that we had was going to the bar to look for the waitress to pay. What a pity!! I liked this restaurant a lot but after today I won't come anymore. Wouldn't recommended the experience to anyone, we losted so much time here!!

We had made a reservation in advance for 7:30 p.m. When we arrived, despite having a reservation, we had to wait in line for 10 minutes to get to our seats. The biggest problem is that you wait an extremely long time to order and even longer for the food. The pasta was good and worth the price. For dessert, we opted for the "homemade" tiramisu and the blueberry cheesecake. The tiramisu consisted of a thin sponge cake with simple cream and a sponge cake soaked in coffee. It tasted okay, but had absolutely no resemblance to a real tiramisu. The cheesecake was very dense and not as creamy and fluffy as a cheesecake should be. When we wanted to pay, the bill also took over half an hour, so we decided to go straight to the cashier to finally pay. That's not possible there; you have to wait for your assigned waitress. Overall, our stay lasted almost three hours due to the long wait times. The restaurant probably survives due to its beautiful location; the rest isn't very convincing. Too few staff, far too long wait times.

June 13, 2025 We had reserved a table on the terrace at 7:30 p.m. We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Finally, at 9 p.m., the appetizer arrived. By the time we were finally able to eat, the kitchen was already closed for dessert—what the heck? On top of that, the music was extremely loud. I don't want to eat in a nightclub. We won't be back, even though the place itself is great and the waitress (blonde with a braid) was very nice.

Very unfriendly service. When we asked if we could have an umbrella, the answer was: No, I'm sweating too.

The food was good. The service was a disaster. First impression: a rude comment from the waiter. At the end, we were asked to stack our plates for him so he wouldn't have too much work. All right!? The customer/guest is king, right? Pay a lot of money for relaxation, good food, etc., and then get treated like this? I suspect this is a rare occurrence (other waiters were nice).

We had dinner on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Four portions of fried noodles with shrimp and one chopstick without shrimp, two pizza tonos with too little tuna, waited 1 hour and 22 minutes, and still no food! Sorry.

We ordered pizza – it was super delicious – the service was very friendly and fast – everything was sour – the pizzas were so big that we couldn't finish them all = the service was so nice and brought us a box right away – it's a shame we were only in Würzburg for the weekend – this place would have become my regular back home.

The pizza was usually really good, but today it was such a disappointment... - The dough was unevenly thick and not baked at all (see pictures) - The crust was usually beautifully covered with dark bubbles, which was not the case today. I almost feel like they used dough that was actually meant for tomorrow. - The cheese seemed inferior. - We ordered for pickup at 8:30 p.m. and didn't receive the pizza until shortly after 9 p.m. (but that can happen when it's so busy). I hope the quality improves again. The location is, of course, great.

The food at Pizzeria Locanda was truly outstanding, and the service was friendly and attentive – highly commended for that! Unfortunately, our visit was severely impacted by the extreme heat in the dining room. Despite repeated requests to turn on the air conditioning, it remained off. Even the staff were visibly sweating, which only made the situation more incomprehensible. Offering no relief at all in summer temperatures is simply outdated and unfortunately significantly diminishes the overall impression. It's a real shame – we would have gladly returned under better weather conditions.

The service was quite slow — we had to wait a long time for our orders to arrive. Unfortunately, the pizzas were disappointing. On the Margherita, the cheese was overcooked and had dried out on top of the dough. The dough on the Napoletana pizza wasn’t good either, it lacked the soft, chewy texture you'd expect. Overall, aside from the location, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Very good food. Service seems average. Minimal things, and service won't be the same as with the other guests. Didn't really like the attidude of the worker, even after trying to talk, it was awful and cold. But keep it :) It was the 1st, and it will also be the last time here, just cause of service, although food was amazing. Bye ✌️

Super attentive and friendly service. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite as delicious as hoped (antipasti and pizza). The atmosphere on the terrace was amazing! We'd definitely go back.

A really nice place. You can get a good pizza there, and the portions are generously sized. The location is directly on the Main. In the summer, you can eat on the terrace. And there is also a good vegan option as well. Highly recommended.

After the waitress ignored us for 20 minutes, we took a menu on our own. To order, we signaled for attention by waving vigorously. After about 10 minutes, the first drink arrived. We couldn't toast, because the other one didn't arrive for another 48 minutes; it was slammed onto my table without comment. After 66 minutes, the food arrived, which was delicious despite everything—but nothing special. Since we continued to be ignored, we went straight to the cashier to pay. Since our waitress couldn't be found, we could only pay in cash to another employee. Having to wait for food and drinks isn't bad. But being ignored as a guest isn't fun. Never again!

Great pizzas. Reservations are a must. Otherwise, it's almost always fully booked.

Italian restaurant in a prime location directly on the Main River. Beautiful view of the fortress. Portions are generously sized and delicious. The pizzas are enormous. The staff was initially attentive and very friendly. Unfortunately, their attentiveness quickly waned as the number of guests increased. Despite the staffing levels, the restaurant's overcrowding was obvious. We ended up having to wait about 45 minutes for the bill.

We had reserved a table and, upon arriving, found a huge line. After checking with the people in front of us, it turned out they hadn't. When we got to the reception desk and asked to be shown to our table, we were told we had to go to the back of the line and wait just like everyone else, even though we had a reservation. Apparently, there were more reservations than tables. Very disappointing.
