L'italiano Pizza e Pasta Bar in Weiden i.d.OPf.

Great atmosphere, great pizza, my dish, "Eliano," was good, very nicely presented, but unfortunately there was too little beef and sun-dried tomatoes, and the portion was too small. The taste was very good, though. Unfortunately, all the chocolate cakes in our order had no liquid center, and unfortunately, the presentation was very simple for the price. The service was very friendly and courteous. I used to work in the restaurant industry, and in our case, glasses were only cleared away after the guests had left, whereas in yours, while you were still sitting, you felt like you were supposed to leave. It's a shame, really.

Unfortunately, the pasta was mushy and not al dente at all...

Excellent little restaurant in Weiden. I ate the spaghetti carbonara with a salad and a delicious red wine. Very good service and atmosphere. I will definitely visit this place next time I’m in town.

Everything was great, the service was very attentive and friendly, and the location is also great in downtown Weiden. The pizzas are quite large, and you can have them packed if you can't finish your meal. We like going here. No wonder it's often full.

Disappointing & Unfair Treatment – Friends Given Priority This was my fifth visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, the service has deteriorated significantly. Today's experience was unacceptable. My group arrived **before** a table group that the staff obviously knew personally, yet we were ignored, while their friends were seated immediately. After a 10-minute wait, we were finally relegated to a poorly placed table on the side with no view, while the other guests were not only seated immediately but could also order drinks directly. If you value your paying guests, then **treat them fairly. Regulars or acquaintances should never be given priority, especially when others have to wait longer. After this obvious favoritism, I'm seriously considering returning. You can do better than that! Hollywood

The pizzeria had a stand near Weiden träumt. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, it was finally my turn and I was looking forward to my pizza. I ordered a pizza special. After a brief, confused search in the oven, the employee unenthusiastically announced that he only had salami and margarita left. There was no offer to wait or anything else. I wanted to give it another chance, since it unfortunately didn't taste good at all at the community festival. But oh well, it didn't.

A truly horrible pizza. Too much cheese, plus Emmental, which has no place on pizza, and not enough tomato sauce; it didn't taste like real pizza. Overall, the ingredients seemed substandard. The salami was more like cervelat sausage. And no Italian would throw anchovies on sausage while sober. The taste was pretty bad, followed by belching and heartburn. After a friendly and matter-of-fact complaint, the waiter responded with an incredibly rude attitude. Absolute no-go. Urgently, I had to leave the restaurant a long way behind.

Great Place friendly atmosphere.

A friend and I made a reservation here but arrived 10 minutes late. The waitress then informed us—without apologizing—that she would give the table to someone else after 10 minutes. I'm not used to it (especially not from Weidner restaurants) that reservations are canceled after just 10 minutes of delay. There was also no notice on the website/Instagram/when making the reservation. We then went to a restaurant next door, which immediately offered us a seat, even without a reservation. The Italiano lost us as customers. Unfriendly staff and poor service.

I went to Litaliano with my son and we had a pizza with spicy salami and garlic, absolutely delicious! The dough was crispy, the toppings fresh and well-seasoned. Just the right amount of spice. For us, it was the best pizza in Weiden! The service was also very friendly. We'll definitely be back.

We were on a day trip in Weiden and passed there by chance. It was very tasty, the pizzas were rich in size and toppings. If we come back, we will definitely eat there again.

** fraud alert!!!! We had high hopes for this Italian restaurant, but sadly, it fell far short of expectations. While the ambiance was pleasant, several issues ruined our dining experience. To begin with, the wine wasn't properly chilled, and the pasta was overcooked, losing that perfect al dente texture. The carpaccio lacked the necessary olive oil to enhance its flavors, and the tortellini—despite being a promising dish—was ruined by the use of canned peas, which dulled the taste. We arrived hungry and ready to enjoy a good meal, but despite our appetite, we couldn't finish our main courses. Our disappointment grew as we noticed that two elderly women at the next table had spilled their drinks. They asked for help, but none of the staff assisted them. They were left to eat with their table flooded. I eventually stepped in and gave them the two napkins from our table to prevent the drinks from spilling onto their knees. As if that wasn’t enough, I ordered lasagna to go and made it clear that we wanted to pay as soon as we received it. No one mentioned that the restaurant was cash-only—neither when we placed the order nor when we were seated! When the lasagna arrived and I tried to pay by card, the waitress informed us that they only accept cash. I was shocked and immediately irritated. When I told her we didn’t have enough cash, she suggested that we could go to an ATM. However, we didn’t have our ATM cards with us. Her next suggestion? Leave our passports and come back tomorrow. We don’t even live in this city, so that was not an option. While I was talking to the manager, the German girls sitting next to us kindly offered a solution: they suggested paying for us via PayPal. But the manager refused, saying she does have PayPal but doesn’t allow people to pay with it. On top of everything, the food was so bad that we couldn’t even finish it. On the picture shown is how much of the food we left untouched because it was so disappointing.

The food itself was delicious, but comparatively quite expensive. A €2 surcharge for an extra topping on a pizza is also a bit steep. The service wasn't entirely focused and repeatedly delivered orders to the wrong tables or even forgot something. The owner isn't particularly friendly either.

I called in an order for pick up, salami pizza. I was at the other end of downtown so I had a 10 minute walk to the restaurant. Food was ready when I picked it up. Service was real good they speak good, the lady that helped me spoke English. I drove 40 minutes to get home, the pizza was obviously cold by then but it was still good cold! The location is nice right in the middle of downtown nice outside area. I would return here!

Today was my first and last visit to L'italiano, as the experience was more than questionable. I ordered the pizza alla focaccia. It was a total disaster: Instead of green olives, the pizza was topped with black olives. The explanation: they were out of green olives. As compensation, I was allowed to request some shrimp as a side dish. (The shrimp were ultimately the only reasonably tasty dish.) The pizza dough was sloppy and unappealing for my taste, reminiscent of a mediocre takeaway pizza. Contrary to the description on the menu, the pizza was topped with Emmental cheese, and the strong flavor further confused me, as I was expecting an Italian pizza. When I pointed this out, I had to convince the waiter, by looking at the menu together, that Emmental cheese didn't belong on the pizza. I had the pizza returned and, as a further apology, asked for bruschetta. When I was served this bruschetta without garlic (?!) and with a toasted but completely soggy baguette (not ciabatta), my appetite completely vanished. I didn't get my money's worth and must therefore strongly advise against visiting this place. There are too many very good alternatives!

Mainstream Food at fair price. Not accepting credit card or other types of electronic payments in 2024 is not ok - Especially for tourists since withdrawing cash is quite expensive compared to the commission the restaurants have to pay. Adding 19% service charge without asking is not ok either.

Ordered food for delivery for just under €110...extremely unfriendly driver, everyone thought the food was rather mediocre, and for the price of the order, they didn't even include a bottle of Coke...all in all, rather disappointing...

The pizzas were delicious; my wife had the daily special, a plate of pasta with a delicious ham and cream sauce, for only €6.00. Friendly service. Everything was perfect.

The ambient was amazing. After a long day of work on a cold German night. You can see a the burners on. Which gives you the option to eat outside or inside. They have a larger wine 🍷 selection and the lasagna CHEF! Is my favorite and I might venture away from it but I love it. The delivery is done with a deep dish. Which is bubbling hot and you can smell all the aromas. It smells delicious and it’s so good. The portion is so satisfying and it’s a walk away from and indoor mall. It’s a smaller mall but I like to walk off my dinner. I usually walk after dinner. Their is a large park across this city center to walk around and the building add to the experience. My hotel is a 5 min drive or a 10 min walk. So this is the 3 time I order the lasagna and it has me coming for more.

Wir waren als Junggesellinnen Gruppe unterwegs und haben in dem Lokal gegessen. Wir haben Gott sei Dank reserviert denn sonst hätten wir keinen Platz bekommen. Alleine das spricht für sich das es gut sein muss. Das war es auch die Pizza die ich gegessen habe war so wie man sie sich vorstellt knusprig dünn und nicht überbelegt wie eine italienische Pizza sein muss. Die Bedienung war sehr sehr freundlich und hat jeden extrawunsch erfüllt. Das Essen kam auch sehr schnell. Die Chefin hat bevor wir gegangen sind uns noch was ausgegeben und das war auch sehr nett. Wenn mann eine leckere Pizza essen möchte mit tollem Service und die Altstadt als Ambiente genießen möchte dann ist das Lokal der richtige Ort. Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen und auch sehr geschmeckt. ☺️☺️☺️☺️

Geschmackssache! Schlechteste Pizza die ich die letzten Jahre hatte. Eine halbe ging zurück. Nudeln waren auch nicht wirklich gut. Vielleicht hatte der Koch einen schlechten Tag?

Wir waren heute, nach längerer Zeit mal wieder im L'itliano, um den Geburtstag meiner Frau zu feiern. Ich habe die Pizza von damals, wohl so 1.5 Jahre her, als wir das letzte Mal dagewesen sind, als eine der Besten befunden, die ich jemals gegessen habe. Das kann ich heute leider nicht mehr bestätigen. Die Pizza war durchschnittliches Handwerk, zu überteuerten Preis. ( Meine Meinung). Was aber noch schlimmer wog, war die Unfreundlichkeit des Chefs. In der Zeit, in der wir da waren, hatte man den Eindruck, dass er seine Stammgäste, mit Freundlichkeit überhäuft, Gäste die aber allem Anschein nach selten da sind, kaum Beachtung finden. Da zählen ich auch dazu, dass man nach dem Essen nicht die Frage gestellt bekommt, ob alles gepasst hat. Hätte ihm gerne persönlich gesagt, was nicht gepasst hat. Aber ich denke, das wusste er auch und hat sich deshalb die Frage verkniffen. Ich hatte den Eindruck, dass er uns schnell wieder loswerden wollte, um den Tisch neu zu besetzen. Eine reine Enttäuschung heute. 2 Sterne nur deshalb, weil die Bedienung sehr freundlich gewesen ist.
