Lintel's Kotten Restaurant & Café in Emsdetten

Were there a few days ago and were very disappointed this time. Only the service was good, the food was bad, that evening even very bad. The roulades were small, dry and tasted old. The sauce wasn't seasoned and didn't fit. The schnitzel dishes, otherwise the flagship of this restaurant, were carelessly prepared this time, the breading was soggy and the onions on them were unfortunately not tasty either. The kitchen apparently didn't have its best day, that can certainly happen, but it's obviously annoying for the paying guest, especially since none of us were satisfied. For the sake of decency, we immediately passed this on in a matter-of-fact tone. Well, we won't be eating here again anytime soon, that's for sure.

I was in Lintel's Kotten as part of a birthday party. This historic restaurant, which was originally a farm, is nestled in beautiful surroundings. Many original elements can still be admired. The half-timbering and the loving decoration, the old, roaring fireplace, contribute to a cozy feeling. The tenant of the restaurant took the time to tell me the history of the farm very clearly and patiently. All in all, it was a wonderfully prepared celebration - from the champagne reception to the coffee table - a delight that was completed by the warm and attentive service. If we lived nearby, we would definitely be regulars.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. After standing around at the counter for a long time, despite having a reservation and being assigned a table, no welcome was felt. The lady serving the table made up for it and was very friendly. It was too cold at the table. The food was a disappointment for me because I come here almost every year when I visit my homeland and therefore have a certain level of expectation. The chicken schnitzel was too salty and the breading was limp and greasy. The taste was similar. The vegetables reminded me of cafeteria. I then stuck to the delicious fried potatoes.

Mega delicious... Super friendly service.. Price performance great.. A place where you can spend a nice time with great food. Definitely coming back. 🍻

Nice location and large portions. Unfortunately terribly salty. I used half a liter of drink for the starter (baguette with herb butter). At 7 p.m. we saw a lot of service staff, as we were about to leave there was only one left who was very busy feeding the guests present.

Dieses Lokal ist für Veganer vollkommen ungeeignet. Obwohl für mich veganes Essen schon Wochen vorher bestellt worden war. erhielt nach Protest lediglich einen Salatteller. Und der Tisch bog sich förmlich von nicht veganen Speisen. Ich kann nur sagen "schämt euch". Wer nicht mit der Zeit geht, der geht mit der Zeit.

I wonder what sense it makes to put opening times online if you don't think it's necessary to point out company holidays. We drove there from Münster yesterday because of a recommendation from the restaurant (approx. 35 kilometers away) only to find ourselves in front of closed doors. That's not really professional, it's not possible at all.

Stopped here with 14 cycling friends from our cycling club on August 20, 2024. Nice atmosphere, inside and outside. Food, drinks, coffee and cake were great. First of all, the friendly, nice service by very pretty ladies. Understand the 'Ship Rocking Brakes' not those who once left an underrated rating on this channel.

Simply great...We were there with friends from the Rhine on June 19th.

We haven't been here in ages. We happened to be in the area on Saturday. It was almost 2 p.m. and we were hungry! We waited for it to open at 2 p.m. and asked if we could have a warm meal as well as cake. The answer came promptly: “Of course.” And we were kindly given a table for two directly in the entrance area where the large fireplace is. Everyone was really friendly and we felt comfortable. We were able to choose from the menu. Good home cooking. The portions are large (too large for me, they packed the rest for me). The atmosphere is as beautifully rustic as in the old pubs/restaurants in Münsterland. And the staff was really nice and attentive. We certainly won't waste too much time coming back.

The typical German food was delicious and the amount you get for the price is more than enough. You will definitely always be full. The ambience was also pleasant in an old German style. Definitely something different. I can highly recommend Lintels Kotten.

A home-style, rustic restaurant, in a rural location, with a beer garden and playground. We liked it.

A really great location to eat or just have a drink and enjoy the sun, like on a day like today. A bike ride there is definitely worth it. Service is friendly, courteous and quick. The food is of very good quality. There is also vegetarian food and something for those who are slightly hungry. A large lawn invites children to play. You can also bring your dog here on such beautiful days. The prices, like everywhere else, have increased, but ok. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Had schnitzel and asparagus as well as fried potatoes. My wife had fish, asparagus and potatoes. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly and attentive. The food was not brought on a plate but shared, which I thought was good and unusual for such a location. Location a rustic old cottage and very important - dogs very welcome Gladly again

Cozy Westphalian restaurant with a beautiful outdoor area/garden

Today I was in Lintel's Kotten for the second time after 2021. The service was remarkably attentive. The menu is Münsterland, down-to-earth with plenty of choices and, in my opinion, there is also the possibility of finding dishes that can serve as a snack (e.g. on a bike tour). All dishes were of outstanding quality, freshly prepared and despite the increasing number of guests, the main meal was served at the perfect time interval from the starter. The pricing is very fair for mid-2024 and the portions are designed so that even good eaters are more than satisfied. In addition, the ambience in Lintel's Kotten - as promised by the name - ensures civic well-being.

Well suited for a bike tour. Food ok, but don't expect any culinary sophistication. Hectic and service sometimes at its limit.

The restaurant is located in an ancient kötterhaus at Gut Lintel, with a rustic outdoor area. When the weather was nice, the restaurant was a destination for numerous cyclists. Nevertheless, we got a nice place outside. The staff was characterized by attentiveness and friendliness. Despite the numerous guests, there were no waiting times. The food was excellent and - above all - plentiful. Highly Recommended.

We were there with a group of 10 people. Everyone was thrilled. The food was really tasty and well prepared. I had the Kotten pan - super tasty. The men's cream for dessert was also great and more than filling - we shared it between two people otherwise I wouldn't have been able to finish it. The cellar beer was freshly tapped and nice and cold. The service was very attentive and personable. We all agreed it was a wonderful evening and we will definitely be back soon.

This afternoon I stopped at Lintel's Kotten on my bike tour. It is a restaurant in Emsdetten and is surrounded by greenery. This restaurant is ideal for cyclists who want to take a break. The staff is very friendly. Food and drinks are brought to the table very quickly. The food is delicious. I had a piece of sour cream cake and a gun of cream. You could immediately taste that everything was freshly prepared. The ambience is also very nice. I would go here again at any time.

We ended up in the country inn purely by chance... One of the few places that are open at the beginning of the week! The food, like the whole atmosphere, is quite rustic and tastes delicious too! And there's a lot on the plate... We've been frequent guests in the meantime and will probably always like to go there again...

Wir haben das Lintelns Kotten gern besucht. Die Bewirtung ist sehr freundlich. Das Essen war beim letzten Besuch mittlere Unterklasse. Die längere Anreise aus Coesfeld werden wir uns in Zukunft sparen. Schade.

schönes Lokal wo man nach einer Radtour einfach nur ein kühles Bier oder auch gleich eine kösteliche Speise zu sich nehmen kann. Sehr urige Einrichtung. Besonders zu Weihnachten toll geschmückt. Personal hat immer einen flotten Spruch auf den Lippen und ist sehr freundlich. Preise sind gerechtfertig.

Eigentlich war ich immer gerne hier Essen, da es sehr lecker ist. Leider hat das ein Erlebnis schwer getrübt. Nach einem Ausflug und Spaziergang wollten wir hier mit einer Behinderten Rollstulfahrerin Kuchen essen gehen. An der Tür bereits abgefangen worden, die Lokalität sei komplett bis zum letzten Platz besetzt wurden wir weg geschickt. Scheinbar lag es an dem Anblick des Mädchens, welches auf Grund der Behinderung sehr deformiert und unnatürlich aussah. Während meine Frau das behinderte Mädchen wieder ins Auto lud, wollte ich mich alleine nochmal vergewissern. Ging dann zur Tür und schaute ins innere der Gasträume. Hier waren mindestens 4-6 Tische frei.. Ich fragte dann nochmal, warum wir denn weggeschickt wurden, wenn doch noch Plätze genug da sind. Das Achselzucken sagte mir dann alles. Uns ist sowas noch nie passiert - in keinem Lokal zuvor. Das Mädchen gibt es nicht mehr, aber wir kommen trotzdem nicht mehr wieder.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Der Service war klasse.

Absolut tolles Restaurant in einem alten Bauernhof, sehr urig! Personal ist super freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam, das Essen ist typisch deutsch und sehr lecker! Wir hatten die Kottenplatte für zwei und sind total satt geworden, die Herrencreme als Nachtisch hat uns fast zum platzen gebracht und war auch sehr gut. Preise sind absolut fair, wir hatten einen tollen Abend und kommen gerne wieder!

Das Restaurant ist mit Auto und Fahrrad gut zu erreichen. Genügend Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Gut bürgerliche deutsche Küche. Wir waren jetzt schon öfters da und es hat uns immer wieder super gefallen. Das ganze liegt im Wald und der Biergarten ist deshalb auch sehr schön, richtig in der Natur. Jedes Gericht hat super lecker geschmeckt. Ich habe einen sehr empfindlichen Magen und habe alles bestens vertragen. Alle sind sehr freundlich und auf Anfrage werden auch Sonderwünsche erfüllt. Das Restaurant ist sehr liebevoll dekoriert, die grossen Holzbalken geben eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Auch der Nachtisch bzw. Kuchen ist ganz toll und man merkt, dass hier noch alles mit Liebe und frisch zubereitet wird. Wir konnten in Bar und mit EC bezahlen und würden das Restaurant immer wieder weiterempfehlen.

Sehr idyllisch gelegenes Restaurant & Cafè mit Gartenwirtschaft. Neben einem täglich wechselnden Angebot an frischem Kuchen bietet die Speisekarte ein sehr umfangreiches Angebot an schmackhaften kalten und warmen Speisen. Kaffee und Getränke gibt es in reichlicher Auswahl. Das ganze Team ist sehr nett und aufmerksam. Der Lintel's Kotten lädt immer wieder zu einem Besuch ein.
